saw this picture and thought of escaped convict izuku on the run with raging psychopath/villian dynamight who decide to pay you a visit annnnd yeah (wc:2.6k)
It was supposed to be a nice evening all to yourself.
You were finally on break from the seemingly countless load of work and projects school has been throwing your way. You didn't think twice about taking time off from work and driving to your little cabin two towns out once the semester ended.
The first few days were fine. Everything you could've asked for. No call ins from work, deadlines from uni or hounding from your mother. It was just blissful peace.
But then a knock came at your door. You were reluctant to open it, especially since you're pretty sure no one knew you were here. Except for your mother but she lives thousands of miles away, she's never been the one to visit. It's always you who has to go to her. Your instincts tell you not to open it.
It's the beginning of a freaking horror movie for crying out loud.
Girl alone in a cabin in the middle of the woods. Check.
Girl has no contact with the outside world because of some absurd challenge of not checking social media for a solid two weeks. Check.
Girl has zero fighting abilities or survival instincts. Check.
Maybe the survival instincts part isn't all too correct because you stay put on your sofa, staring at the hardwood door from your position in the small cabin. Who could it be?
You check the time, it's nine.
Maybe a person's car broke down nearby. But even then, you refuse to—another knock has you jumping. That's when you hear the whispers.
"I thought you said she'd be here, fucking nerd."
"She is." A calm voice responds.
You freeze. You know that voice. You haven't heard it in years but you definitely know it. You slowly stand up, walking to the door to get a clearer listening. "Did she leave? I swear to—"
"If you would stop talking, you would see all the lights are on. Clearly there's someone here."
A frustrated sigh then another series of pounding on the door. You can't help it, a small scream escapes your lips at the sudden noise. Then silence. They obviously heard you.
Yeah...definitely no survival instincts.
"Y/N?" A voice asks. It's definitely him. Definitely Izuku. But he sounds different. More hardened, confident...a stark contrast to the stuttering boy you were friends with five years ago. "It's me, Izuku. Open the door."
Open the door?
Why would you open the door to someone you haven't even spoken to in years? Someone who doesn't even give you a notice before rudely barging on your property. You can't stay silent any longer, obviously they know you're here but for some reason you can't bring yourself to speak.
"I just need a favor—"
"Fucking move." The other man mutters, you hear some shoving before an explosive sound causes you to take several steps back. What the fuck?
"You can't blow down her door!" Izuku groans in annoyance, shoving the man away.
"Why not? She won't let us in!"
"For obvious reasons you fucking imbecile!"
And you've definitely never heard Izuku curse before. "G-go away." You finally say. That man clearly has a quirk and judging from the sound of it, it could destroy you in a matter of seconds.
Another minute of whispering before Izuku is speaking up again.
"Why do you sound so scared?" He sounds like he's trying to put on a facade, trying to act nice and nonthreatening but the words roll off his tongue in a manner that only has you cringing. This is not the same Izuku you knew back then and you refuse to be one of those dumb girls who get stabbed in a horror movie because she was stupid enough to give some asshole the benefit of the—a pair of arms wrap around your waist, lifting you off the ground and eliciting a terrified scream from your lips.
What the fuck?!
You thrash around in the others person's grip but they're freakishly strong, holding you up with one arm as the other goes to open the door.
"No! Don't—let go of me you psycho!"
It opens and the blood drains from your body, mouth opening in fear as Izuku steps in. He sighs, running his fingers through his hair before shutting the door behind him.
"Told you there's a backdoor. Dumb bitches like this never lock the back door."
What?
"Excuse me?!"
Izuku smiles down at you...since when is he taller than you? He looks older, jawline sharper, eyes more hardened, that boyish smile and chubby cheeks of his that always calmed you down are gone. Instead replaced by this.
You gasp as you take in his clothes. They're...fucking prison jumpsuits covered in blood. He follows your gaze, laughing a bit at your horrified gaze. "Oh this? It's nothing. Don't worry about it."
Don't worry about it?
You scream as the man walks to the living room with you still in his grip, he throws you down on the couch and that's when you get a good look at him. He's big. Fucking massive with spikey blonde hair and a sneer that looks like it could rip you in half. He's also wearing a prison suit.
Tears quickly form in your eyes at the situation you're in. Prison suits, covered in blood and looking at you like you're a piece of meat. Yeah, you're definitely dying tonight. "W-what do you want?"
"Geez, five years of no contact and this is how she greets you?" The blonde laughs. "I thought you two were lovebirds." He plops down on the couch, picking up a magazine.
"Shut up, Katsuki." He sighs.
You two never dated. He was practically a little brother to you, always following you around like a lost puppy. But he doesn't look so desperate anymore. His eyes are chillingly dark all while his lips are forcing themselves into a smile that looks anything but kind. While the other one has almost a maniacal glint to his eyes. They're both creepy, terrifying you to your core as you slowly move your hand behind you. You left your phone somewhere around here, granted there's barely any data but you should at least try something.
Izuku moves closer, a movement that has you flinching away. "Stay back!" You screech.
Katsuki groans, rubbing his ears. "The mouth on her, goddamn."
"Look. Me and my...friend here are in a bit of a bind. We just need a place to stay for a little while and we'll be out of your hair."
You scoff, eyes trailing down to the crimson color on his hands. "What happened to you?" Or better yet, what the hell did he do to whatever poor guy got in his way?
He frowns. "I freed myself from a sticky situation. Why are you looking at me like that y/n?"
"Y-You're...in a prison jumpsuit with blood all over you and that's what you ask?"
"I did what I had to do." He sounds utterly convinced, that's what scares you the most. "Can we stay here?"
"Not like she can stay no." Katsuki cuts in, standing up and going to the kitchen to rummage through your fridge.
"H-how did you know I'd be here?" You ask, throat unbearably dry at this point.
"You always spoke about this cabin, how you would come here every semester break in the future." He sits right next to you, stretching a bit as he cracks his neck. "Fuck, I'm tired. We've spent the past few days in the damn woods."
He remembers something you told him nearly seven years ago? He’s always been disturbingly observant.
"We should've barged in here sooner. But no, you wanted to stake it out." Katsuki scoffs.
"You've been watching me?" Your chest tightens at that fact. You've been in this cabin alone for days with these two psychos watching your every move? Did they come in while you were sleeping? Taking a shower? You never lock the back door, a stupid, ridiculous habit you've been trying to break. But now it's too late it seems as you stare into Izuku's cold eyes.
"It was the only way to know no one else was coming. No one is coming, right?" He leans forward, slight suspicion etching on his features.
"Who cares if they do? I'll just blast the fuckers into bits."
You tense up at that, stomach twisting painfully. Izuku grabs your chin, you jump as his blood stained fingers grip you. "No one is coming right?"
"N-no." You whimper, shaking your head. "I'm the only one that comes here. Y-you know that."
"Well I've been gone for a while. You probably got a boyfriend, one of those meat heads losers you were always into. Do you? Are they coming here?" He quizzes, staring deep into your soul.
"No!" You yell, slapping his hands away. The longer they're on you, the more you feel like gagging. "I don't have a boyfriend."
His smile falters at that, jaw clenching and unclenching as he takes deep breaths, like he's trying to calm himself down for you removing yourself from his hold. Like you had no right. “That's a shame. I would've enjoyed meeting the man who you finally deemed good enough." He says after a few seconds.
"Why? So you could kill him in front of her?" Katsuki comes back, snorting as he sits on the couch. He's got a tub of ice cream in his hand. You didn't peg a hardened criminal as a haagen daz lover.
Izuku laughs, a sound that has you cringing on the inside. It sounds terrifyingly unstable. "You're making me seem like a sociopath, Kats."
Katsuki rolls his eyes. "Wouldn't want that."
You swallow the lump in your throat. "You guys would just be staying for a few days right? I won't—I won't tell anyone, I swear. You don't have to hurt me."
"Now...why would I want to hurt you y/n?" He murmurs, fingers traveling to play with the curls of your hair. "You've given us hospitality. That's all I could've asked for."
You try to force a smile but the pit in your stomach is exhausting you at this point. You feel like screaming, puking and running for the hills all at the same time. But you can't run...the nearest house is at least thirty minutes away and they would surely catch you before then.
"O-okay." You whimper. "You're not...you're not mad at me, are you?" You find yourself asking, trying to stay calm.
He freezes, letting go of your hair as he leans against the couch. "Mad?"
"For what happened." You lick your dry lips. He has to remember. You highly doubt he came all this way just for hospitality. They could've broken into any old house or car but instead they waited here for days, waiting for the perfect opportunity to attack you. Even though they should be out of the freaking country by now.
He stares at you for a while, his smile now replaced by a haunting look of indifference. Everything he does scares you. If he's not staring at you like you're a little kid throwing a tantrum, he's peering like he wonders what your insides look like.
"No...I'm not mad." He smiles again. "The past is the past."
"O-okay." You sigh, not believing him one bit.
"What happened?" Katsuki asks, looking genuinely interested.
"Shut up." Izuku simply responds and somehow the blonde doesn’t take offense to the tone, only rolling his eyes in response and going back to his ice cream.
Finally. Finally, you gain enough courage to reach your phone. Your fingers clench around the object behind you, praying they don't see the movements. "W-what did you guys do to get sent to prison?" The words flow out of your mouth, trying to buy time as you press the emergency button on your phone.
"We'll save that conversation for another time. But for now..." Izuku reaches behind you, ripping the phone out of your hands before you can even blink. You barley had it for a fucking second, how the hell did he know?
"W-what are—"
A slap to the face shuts you up immediately, it's not hard. It was practically a tap but something tells you that was just a warning, that if you pull something else, his retaliation will be less...merciful. "Open it."
“No."
Stupid.
"Open the phone, y/n." He says through clenched teeth, the calm facade he's been wearing all night slowly slipping off.
"No! You—what are you—" Hands grip the back of your hair, yanking your head back and evoking a painful scream. Fuck, he's strong. Katsuki stands behind you, menacing glare fixated on you as he sighs. "Just open the phone, doll."
You bite your tongue, slowly taking the phone from Izuku's welcoming hands and typing in your password.
"Was that so hard?" He asks, scrolling through your device.
Katsuki lets go of you, walking around the sofa so now he's standing behind Izuku. Both of them peering at your phone, like it's the most fascinating thing ever. "The emergency button didn't even work, service at this cabin has always been atrocious huh y/n?"
You refrain from telling him to fuck off.
"I'm just sending a little message to your mom—how is she by the way—that you'll be off the grid until you get back from break." He hums, tapping erratically. "You don't really have many friends it seems." He tilts his head to the side.
"I always thought you were destined to be that cliche slut of a cheerleader in high school, too dumb to know her left from her right but always so eager to please—oh." He pauses, scoffing a bit as he comes across something.
"W-what?" You ask, biting the inside of your cheek until it's throbbing.
"It appears you lied to us!" He laughs, the sound practically maniacal. The most emotion he's shown since he broke into your house. He holds the phone up, a crazed look in his eyes as he pouts.
"You do have a boyfriend."
Your eyes widen at the text messages he's showing you. If you had known your former friend and aspiring stalker would've broken into your cabin, you would've deleted those messages. But it's too late now as Izuku looks at the phone again with that stupid mischievous glint dancing around in his eyes.
"We—we've only been together a month, Izuku. I barely know the guy." You try to defend yourself, not sure why. Why does he still care so much after all these years?
It's a lie, you've been with him for over a year but you refuse to reveal that. Not with the terrifying expression on Izuku's face. "Why do you care? I-it's no—"
"Why wouldn't I care?" He scoffs. "After you trampled all over my heart?" He pushes the phone to Katsuki's chest to which the blonde happily takes it.
"After you made me feel like a fucking stain on some dirty sheets? After you broke and used me until there was nothing left to abuse?" He's getting closer, unbearably close. So much for bygones being bygones.
He grabs your chin again, it's much harder than last time and you're sure a bruise will be left. "I-I'm sorry." The tears are flowing down your cheeks now.
"It's okay." He nods, smiling at you. He leans in, placing a small peck on your cheek before backing away. "I forgive you, sweetheart. We all know you were never the brightest." The change in personality is almost as creepy as his gaze right now.
You try not to wipe the saliva on your cheek away, disgusted with the proximity. He's still so fucking delusional after all this time.
"Invite him over." It takes a second for you to realize he's not talking to you but to the deranged blonde next to him.
"W-what? No! Why—"
"Those who are sorry should be eager to prove it, y/n." He says like it's so obvious. "You can atone for your mistakes this way."
Atone? What is he, some type of God? Fucking psycho. "Leave him alone—"
"Invite him." He rolls his eyes. "I'm going to freshen up, can't wait to meet him y/n." He walks towards the stairs, humming a song all the way up.
"Don't worry." Katsuki says, catching your horrified expression. "This will be fun."

A Defense of Benny Gecko
Benny is more of a capable leader and person than people give him credit for.
Seeing as no one challenged his position as head Chairmen for 7 years and even then he only loses the position if he’s caught, killed or forced to leave. Yes, it’s also likely House wouldn’t have allowed him to be killed but he sure as hell would of found a way to remove him if he was causing too much unrest within The Tops power structure. Even Swank and Tommy don’t outright dislike him and more so are concerned with his recent secretive and shady behavior, emphasis on recent.
Taking all we know into consideration, Benny likely knew the future direction that he wanted to take Vegas but was so caught up in the plans to acquire Vegas that he didn’t think of how to make his dream a reality. Something he admits to in canon. I see this being used as the main argument that Benny doesn’t know what he’s doing at all but I see it more in the same vein as you can’t really plan something from nothing. The transformation of Vegas is a sensitive thing that he can’t really work on until he has it. The only reason he ran to the Fort prematurely is the Courier who was causing so much of a stir he would’ve likely been found out much faster, making all that planning for nothing if he didn’t take that chance.
Benny is careful (well a lot more careful than he is regularly depicted in fanon), the Courier being able to trace him was dumb luck on their part and his hair being noticed at the Fort is a realistically small oversight that even Caesar is disappointed in because he admits Benny got farther than he should’ve been allowed by his legionaries. The fact he can plan an ambush on the Courier or tries to quickly and concisely clean up lose ends that don’t lead back to him shows he’s not just acting on impulses or in the moment decisions. Or rather he’s quite good at thinking them out, whether they work depends on how you play really. This is all to say it’s 100% believable that Benny could lead an independent Vegas (house was basically setting him up to do that). If he had known explicitly that House was setting him up to replace him, he likely would’ve bought more time by getting in closer, learning more of the system to then flip House’s edge to his favor. Again something he was doing already but likely without the knowledge of House’s feelings on him personally.
No matter what, Vegas’ future was tied to Benny; House’s plans for him, having to get the chip and if he had somehow succeeded. It’s also interesting that of all the people vying for control of the dam/Vegas, Benny’s plans are the only ones actually oriented towards a new future, not a recreation of something long past.
#something something despite going against you Benny has the most in common with an independent player#he’s just like an asshole and also knows when he’s no longer in the driver seat so he leaves it to you#cause despite all his lame traits Benny got supper far in his plan and likely could’ve done it if the courier never got involved#if he didn’t have the need to run to the fort he would’ve waited to learn what the chip did and then made a more direct plan but when a big#clue to what he’s been up to cough the courier cough came he had to throw caution to the wind#this is sorta related to why house chose Benny and his plans for Benny cause likely the rest of house plans were gonna be#about getting Benny to adopt his ideals and views on Vegas before testing whether Benny could run it like him#and would’ve likely been proud of all the planning Benny did for Yes Man if it wasn’t for it being against him#all I can imagine is like Benny being more disappointed than anything with how house decided to run things and he holds nothing personal#towards house this is a necessity as house will never give up control kinda like bingo but I feel like Benny at least respected Bingo#something something bingo could’ve been a father figure making killing him more of a reason Benny would go against house cause he murders#a potential parental figure thinking it’s what he has to do for the betterment of his tribe only to feel like he led them to stagnation and#a longing for days gone by cause the guy who filled ur head with glittery promises ain’t sparkling no more#and makes the resistance to a parental house make more sense#fallout#fallout new vegas#benny gecko#benny fnv

A lot More Derision Salt because no, I’m not done:
Like a friend of mine brought up, if Chloe traumatized Marinette so much (and keep in mind that I’m NOT downplaying trauma, I’m VERY anti-bullying), then WHY did she ever give her a miraculous in the first place then!? I can at least understand in the Queens trilogy why, but any other episode after that!? Why would you entrust the one who’s caused you (and supposedly so many others) so much pain with such a huge responsibility such as a miraculous??? In fact, WHY don’t you show similar trauma with Kim and even Sabrina!?
“Marinette was just trying to be nice/felt sorry for her!”
I don’t think that’s how trauma works if I'm being honest. I feel if anyone ever did that to me personally, I wouldn’t trust them. I could understand if this was low key/simple school bullying we were talking about here, but this is something that supposedly caused Marinette trauma? That’s also really irresponsible on Marinette's part, given someone who appears to be so conceited, egotistical, immature and selfish to her, a very powerful item just because they’re trying to be “nice”.
And before anyone tries that “Omg, It’s a kids show, it’s not meant to be taken seriously!” excuse, then fine. However, if that’s really the case, then WHY even include such a complex and serious topic in the first place? Just to make a middle school bully look worse/unrealistically more evil? Derision is poked with so many holes that it’s literally useless and wouldn’t have impacted the story at all if it was removed.
As for the whole “not to be taken seriously” argument, The writers (especially Thomas) only CHOOSE when they want this show to be serious. One minute it’s not meant to be over-analyzed or “be simple”, but the next minute they’re throwing out terrible morals all over the place just to justify its contradictory. They just want to do what they want to do without any criticism, that’s all there is to it 🙄
And that's their right to do the show the way they want. That doesn't mean it's correct though...

I just caught up with ep 63 and I'm fucking vibrating. The difference of the Bor'dor reveal and the Dusk reveal! Dusk spending their entire time with the party stirring up drama, once caught out still openly provoking and trying to find an angle to straight up kill Fearne's parents, and the party still struggling to find every reason to let them go, let them live. And Dusk never gave a shit. Why would they! They were a fey assassin! And still the Hells fought and argued for them and let them walk away despite openly remaining a threat.
And then we get Bor'dor, wet paper tissue of a man, tragic backstory up to the gills, genuinely spending time to bond with them, having his little practice session with them being his proudest moment, sharing vulnerabilities. And though he drew first blood, he did it trying to run away, not kill! He did it having seen these people murder his friends and drag their dead bodies out of the hole! He was helpless on the ground, all but begging them to end him because he saw no reason to keep going! There was enough turmoil and doubt in him that he could probably have been deradicalized! He hated them but he loved them too!
And had this been early campaign, in all likelihood they would have let him live. But this is a Bell's Hells who have already been betrayed once by an ally, who lost Eshteross to the Ruby Vanguard, who lost half the fucking party to the Ruby Vanguard, who went on a grueling journey to get Laudna back, who struggled and struggled and still failed to stop Ludinus and ended up separated and scared and not knowing whether the world is about to end or not, whether their friends are alive or not.
And they were done. They did not fight for him. This is war. Were Dusk to show back up now, I doubt they’d survive the encounter.

Oooooh I wanna make a comic about Morro discovering his true potential so bad
But brain small and smooth and can’t think of what his obstacle to overcome could be
Like yeah obviously, it would be learning that he wasn’t meant to be the green ninja and he won’t be able to get that title, and that’s okay! But it’s very similar to what Kai’s potential was (which btw side note, after seeing other people share their interpretation and thoughts on Kai, I too like to believe that the true meaning behind his potential is “I am enough, and I won’t be seen as any less if I don’t become the green ninja”), and I really want to tie in to how he could’ve still had a good life if only he hadn’t been so hellbent on finding the realm crystal
So maybe it could be something like “I am imperfect, I am broken, I have been hurt by others and I too have hurt others, but longing for something that I cannot achieve will not fix me or anything else; I took for granted what I had, I left the one person who truly cared about me, I sought out what I thought would fill the cracks that have formed throughout the years, but it only broke me further. I cannot change my past, I cannot go back to what I had, nor can I go back to who I was. But I can try and build a better future for myself. Despite all the pain, anger, fear and loss, I can still rebuild myself, and perhaps someday, these old scars will fade, and I will feel a little more human. Despite it all, I can still heal.”
Maybe idk, I’d love to hear what everyone else has to say <3

y’all who act like monica ruined frank are so annoying for SEVERAL reasons (especially because there’s more proof frank ruined monica) but y’all will NEVER acknowledge queenie and sammi. sammi was around six years older than fiona, and frank was younger when she was born, but he still ditched her. he knew she existed but still chose to be an absent piece of shit. also, he was an addict since he was young! if i can find an exact moment where this is stated, i’ll tell you all, but i distinctly remember hearing it multiple times and i know others did, too. just because frank did coke for the first time with monica does not mean she ruined him; ultimately, his alcoholism, mother, and narcissism are what ruined him- not that.

Everyone during neverafter 15: oh my god these social interactions are going horribly they’re all doing so bad!
Me, neurodivergent and cannot read social cues: idk mostly these seem fine
#like… Pinocchio overshared for sure#but I didn’t think the rest of them were too bad? like they rolled poorly yes but the actual conversations went fine? I thought?#i at least didn’t think they were as bad as everyone else seems to think#like… with ylfa. when you are a young girl and you meet an older woman who is Like You and successful you are drawn to that#her questions didn’t seem invalid if a bit personal#like ‘how did this happen to u? how do u find the answers and the strength to be successful when your like this the way we are now?’#that was fair to ask! there was a moment before that where they even clocked eachother as beasts! and then ylfa asked about Pib#which seemed fine to me. like she was genuinely asking advice and she got shutdown with like a one word answer#I feel like la bête did worse in that interaction than ylfa did#none of the stuff with gerard was really his fault within that interaction. Brennan surprised Murph with the read the cards outloud thing#he handled it the best he could under the circumstances#Pib did great. Pinocchio overshared but his intentions and actual words were sweet! traumabonding!#Rosamund did great! she was kind and she said what she wanted like yeah! not too bad!#i don’t think Ally intended to actually put dirt in the cookies Brennan kind of pushed that and I don’t think a lot of what he said was bad#I think ally could’ve handled it better in the sense that they could’ve just told the truth and been vague abt the questions being abt#the book but the stuff about being so overly nice and a bit unnerving seemed like an accurate and not very offensive way of putting it#even before they knew about the nihilistic princess cabal stuff they thought rapunzel was creepy#cienna talks#neverafter

I felt inspired to draw a goth Circe design because I didn’t really get why people called her a goth and then I had so much fun that I came up with my own Circe design.
Also here’s purple versions since we only got purple Circe for one episode and it was great and then we were robbed.

I haven’t really seen anyone talk about this yet so there’s a possibility I could be the only one but I hate Chevreuse and how they wrote her
Even if I ignore the fact that she’s a cop and most cop-like characters piss me off anyways, within the context of the region she’s apart of, she’s just plain boring. As it stands we already have a good handful of characters in the game, a lot of them from Fontaine already, with the exact same motivations and high held personal morals; the law is there for a reason, if people enact revenge and take what they think is just and right All The Time, then there would be chaos and unfair violence everywhere. And from a real life ethical lens it WOULD be really chaotic if anyone, anywhere at anytime could take their views of justice into their own hands.
but that’s the thing!! kind of like how it is In the real world, Fontaine is not a wholly just and fair nation (e.g. the Entirety of the Fortress of Meropide, the trafficking and various other crimes that constantly happen within the nobility of Fontaine and the fact that it has yet to be thoroughly investigated/solved and continues to happen, the extreme economic and social juxtaposition between the court of Fontaine and its underground Fleuve Cendre area and Poisson) And it really sucks that the game fails to admit that or acknowledge it because then you have characters who they Want you to believe are doing the right thing and fighting for the right causes, but it winds up feeling meaningless when what they’re fighting for is the law of Fontaine.
Chevreuse would’ve been an Infinitely more interesting and compelling character if her passion for justice wasn’t rooted in upholding the law and order of the nation, but rather what justice means for individuals. How the injustice and discrimination happening in that nation breeds people’s want for revenge and justice outside of the law.
And yeah I get that they wanted another character who fights against evil and is unwavering in her beliefs of what’s right in the very conventional and legal way, but I find it really funny that Chevreuse herself says what makes the argument for her character being boring In the same event quest; when asked about possibly changing the ending and meaning of the Two Musketeers, she says she wants to keep the ending the way that it is because fiction exists in a realm separate from that of reality, where things like the morals of what’s just and unjust can be explored. and like!! that’s it’s!!! I’m literally sitting here playing a Fictional game that has the opportunity to showcase just how fascinating it can be to talk about those kind of things in a fantasy setting where your main player character has literally Killed mostly innocent human people before because they betrayed someone they cared about deeply. but whatever. WHATEVER!!!

Ulysses obsession with the Courier is a special type of sad to me cause the Courier’s part was so important but so unwitting. They had no idea what was in the package they delivered and neither did he. Neither had an idea of what it could’ve done and the Courier was only caring out their job (mind you the Courier could be killed via notes in the express contract if they don’t). To them it was just another regular delivery to the divide and one that they likely thought would help, just like all the ones before.
It’s so tragic for Ulysses to hold so much ire to the Courier when it really was the case of it could’ve been anyone. Anyone could have delivered that package but they did and so he focused the blame on them and it destroys what he is trying to instill in the courier on a fundamental level.
#like yeah the courier delivered the package but in the end that’s a job#any random courier could’ve delivered it especially since we know in the past the factions were farther apart and this travel was a smidge#safer but courier six got it and this Ulysses blamed them#like I don’t care much for Ulysses because I think lonesome road embodies don’t shoot the messenger at it core#and what people focus on doesn’t focus on the fact that in the bigger picture#everything went wrong because two factions were at war and at some point the codes would have been delivered#and the divide destroyed cause with how close it is to NCR territory it would of been found#like there is an inevitable and too many people treat Ulysses as if he knows more or is more aware of the idiosyncrasies of conflict#when he’s like fundamentally flawed just at the standard of being a legion apologist STILL and just how focused he is on one persons#involvement cause yeah choices matter even the small one but I think Veronica’s quest says it best with a line from the courier#you can’t control what they do#like the courier couldn’t and can’t control what they deliver and yet it’s got them in hot water multiple times#like do you think they enjoy being shot or knowing they are indirectly responsible for activating the annihilation of a community#to me it’s hypocrisy to be willing to end the world or one world to prove a point and whatever argument made that only military factions#suffer forget there are innocent civilians suffering that had no part and Ulysses is no better than the Courier#I don’t like devils advocate and a lot of the dlc just feels like that but idk I know people love it but the depth is just not there for mr#ulysses fnv#fallout#fallout new vegas#courier six#the courier#lonesome road#the courier has very little personality outside what we give them but some lines and delivery paint a picture#like uhhhh undertale deltarune rules ig
