Tuesday 23 April, day 6
I finished my natural language processing assignment and submitted it, then helped a friend do it, and while I was helping them I realised I had made a mistake. I'll have to submit again. Good it's only due in a week and we can modify the work submitted until then!
I also finished writing the conclusion for the presentation, and my classmate finally made the slideshow for it. So we can also submit that tomorrow morning!
Tomorrow, I've got morphology and phonology. I haven't done the homework for morphology, and the class is at 8:30 am, so... I'll wake up at around 6 am and do it then. Between my two classes I'd like to work on the NLP class homework (for Thursday). I'm not sure what we'll do in phonology but I'm sure I'll be fine (I think we're going to finish what we were doing before the break, which I had done already, and maybe we'll have the time to go over something else... not sure. Maybe I'll try doing some other exercises).

I'm feeling kinda sad and unmotivated. I have to finish this PowerPoint presentation which is due tomorrow but I'm so worried my class is going to be really awkward about my topic and I'm gonna get all flustered, ahhh... also I need to do well on this to bring my grade up but idk how to do that. Oh how I love school. Not stressful at all. Anyways thank you for letting me get that off my chest, I hope you're having a wonderful day💙
No problemo anon, I'm doing perfectly fine...a little overwhelmed because I just got back home from an orientation for one of my classes (I'm doing dual enrollment, which means I'm taking a college course along with my high school one) next year, but fairly goodTo try helping you with your lack of motivation, look at it this way: in the long run, doing this, no matter what, will help your grade. That's the effect that will matter out of all of them. The awkwardness of the topic with the class isn't permanent, but what you get for a grade for presenting is. It's gonna stay with you for a while. And hey, maybe at least one person is semi-interested in what your topic is or they will be when you're done. And even if that's not true, it doesn't really matter. It's your project, not theirs, and you can do it however you want. It isn't them that it's having a long-lasting effect on, it's you.For doing good on it, I say be as passionate as you can about it, that is if it's a topic you were like able to choose or something. If not, be as informative as you can and (for both really) be somewhat enthusiastic when you present it. Even if it's something you're not really interested in, act like you are, because that'll probably leave a good impression on your teacher. (From what I've experienced with presentations, they usually have part of the grade devoted to how you present it; you could have something different) I would probably focus on being as informative as you can.I know earlier this year I had to present a project with a partner, but on the day we had to do it, she wasn't there so I had to do it all on my own. And I hate presenting stuff as much as the next person, probably because it can be awkward and I can get easily flustered. But one way I got past that was to not look directly at the class watching, but more on the slideshow as I was talking. Give them like an occasional glance to show that you're addressing them, but don't, like, stare at one person or several for the whole time. I think that direct eye contact probably makes the whole thing intimidating, so the less of it, the better (maybe, maybe not, idk)Overall, I'm not the greatest at advice, at least I think I'm not, heh. I'm going off of my own experience, which is probably different from your own. I won't be offended if you don't follow it; I see where you'd come from lol. Also I'd gotta agree, school can be stressful a lot more times than not psh
