I'm in a writing kind of mood, having many thoughts, so here's a little thing from a Jesse and Alan thing I'm working on if you're interested, cause I've been thinking about it again...🫡🙃🫡

Faden shifted in her seat a little, mouth turning down just a fraction.

“Wake, there are certain… tests that my staff want to carry out, regarding your relationship with the shaded presence” she began, and Wake had expected this, of course he had, though he hadn’t quite expected this reaction.

“You seem uncomfortable with the idea” he said, and Jesse all but snorted.

“You could say that, yeah. Look, I’m no stranger to tests, God knows Emily has put me through enough since becoming Director, but I always fully understood what I was getting into. I just… I wanted to make sure that you knew as well, before you agreed to anything”.

“You don’t need to be so worried about me, Director”, he replied, which earned him a little frown, “I hurt a lot of people trying to get out of the dark place. Some invasive testing is probably the least I can endure to make up for it”.

It had obviously been the wrong thing to say, as Faden’s expression turned sharp, raw in a way he hadn’t seen from her yet, so fixated that she was on playing the role of Director.

“Don’t, Wake. I won’t pretend that I understand everything that’s happened, hell maybe you do deserve some retribution, I don’t know. What I do know, is that’s not my, or my staff’s decision to make. I’m not going to lock you up and hurt you Wake, not going to force you into things that are uncomfortable. I need your word that you will tell us to stop if you get uncomfortable, that you’re not going to just let us do whatever because you think you deserve this. If you want some divine retribution to make yourself feel better, that’s fine, but you’re not getting it from me”.

Alan studied her again, not quite sure what he was looking for. This point was important to her, and he should know why, but it wasn’t coming to him just yet. He tried to conjure up every concept of Jesse Faden in his mind to make sense of her. Words flashed in his brain, Director-Leader- Parautilitarian-Receiver-Guiding Star-

For the Reluctant Follower Jeremy & Animatronic Vanny AU, I just have more that I finally want to get to share, so:

I mentioned it originally in the first post, but while she was made, and nearly completed, everyone just quickly stopped her progress as quick as it had started.

While there were some complications with her during the process, it wasn’t really the reason for why everyone stopped. Whoever originally wanted Vanny to be built simply made the decision to not have her any longer—simple.

But rather than destroy what they already had, Vanny was simply stored away somewhere else in the Pizza Plex, deactivated. Everything else planned for her was scrapped (her greenroom, etc).

Because of all of that, Vanny never got to meet the rest of the Glamrocks, and vise versa—they were never even told about her. Though, they undoubtedly would’ve met her if she was finished.

Reluctant Follower Jeremy discovered her not too long after he and Glitchtrap arrived at the Pizza Plex, and that was when Glitchtrap made the decision to use her, too. He didn’t want just Jeremy.

Due to her not being entirely finished or anything, malfunctions are rather... frequent, for her.

Similar to Roxy, Vanny is capable of seeing Reluctant Follower Jeremy (whenever he happens to be wearing his rabbit suit, at least).

She may also potentially still have that... glitchy affect, but I’m not too certain. While the animatronics can see her here, and not see Jeremy at all (- Roxy), she still at least messes with their vision a little.

While still wanting to get Gregory, she leaves most of the other parts (such as chasing) to Jeremy. Here, Vanny does something else.

I imagine that Glamrock Freddy and Gregory would run into her somewhere in the Plex, and she’s just like: “I’m not acting like the others :) I don’t know what’s going on, I just activated :)”

And while Glam. Fred is surprised by this new bunny, Vanny ends up accompanying him and Gregory, while trying to ‘help’ him out the entire time.

While her goal is to just, first, gain the two’s trust, and then bring Gregory to Jeremy and Glitchtrap—at least once there’s the perfect opportunity (ex: Glam. Fred is off charging, Vanny is the only one with Gregory).

Sooo.... yeah.

okay, i'm a good part of the way through impel down, & i'd like to say that it has made me fall in love with ace as a character. i really appreciate the way it adds depth to his prior characterization while also allowing us to look into a behavioural pattern for him that breaks from it. i love how subtlety the difference between how he views his mum & dad is introduced (paraphrasing again but "I owe a lot to the name portgas. i got it from my mother." is such a beautiful line to me for some reason?) & the way he claims whitebeard as his father & everything that distinction means to him, his entire conversation with garp, just how deep his awareness is on an emotional level that he is someone society rejected before he even took his firt breath & how that informs both his worldview & self-perception. the way it informs how he attachs to people. the way that informs how he's attached to luffy & whitebeard. his snarky but heartfelt bond with jimbei- the way jimbei then relates that to whitebeard, which then relates back to ace. the way he gave luffy his vivre card not to save him, but find him as an equal- but of course luffy is coming for him anyway. ace isn't surprised, he knows luffy, but his first response is to be afraid. to want luffy not to come because it's dangerous even if his escape could stop a war. in spite of the fact that he'd just asked garp to kill him for just that purpose. the constant contrast between the bitter & the tender, the brutal & the gentle. the way this reinforces the sun imagery, religous imagery, & the inital symbol of the crew ace comitted himself to meaning peace on a crew that bases itself around care. the way all of this has made ace the man he is & he knows it & he wants to die to protect it, but not at the expense of anyone he cares for- he doesnt deserve it. he's thematically fucking beautiful. & i'm so excited to see this built upon for all i know it is going to fucking hurt.

okay so i tend to work out my aus best when i think about them like a story so Step One: where the fuck do we start.

jaiden's pov. ofc. maybe alternating chapters. i think it would be mildly confusing until the reader realized that Jaiden Rogue and Jaiden Weapon were the alternating chapters and they were getting alternate viewpoints- one of her Descent, and one of her Ascent.

the descent chapters would be her turning into the sort of person who would follow orders to hurt an egg. her being lead by cucurucho to the living weapon program and being "deceived" by it by fully knowing what it wanted from her. making that choice to drown herself and emerge as someone -something- new. these chapters would Also address the problem that is jaiden becoming so brainwashed that she does whatever the federation wants instead of what she would have wanted, and hurting an egg (probably something via kidnapping/accidental injury she doesn't give a shit about. classic federation egg opinions). also she would have a subtext feud with badboyhalo. it would be the fucking- the annoyance that keeps her connected. the feds dont want her to fuck with him but he keeps fucking with her mission so she's annoyed when he shows up. like she never does anything outward to indicate this feud but there's the Recognition and the aww man not this guy again. the proof that she failed to remake herself because even with mission success she's still like aw MAN fuck that guy. she's still, infuriatingly, more than a tool.

now some people may not like to hear it but even the worst people who exist are still people & there is no human being who has More right than others to decide whether others deserve to live or die (does not mean i personally condemn murder in self defense or anything of the sort or killing fascists or whatever i'm just saying as a baseline This Is How it Is) & this is why the death penalty is not a good thing no matter how good & trustworthy the people in any government might be. people on average also deserve the chance to learn to do better. & no, someone who's been forcefed propaganda their entire life will not let go of that deeply entrenched mindset so easily, it's not particularly unrealistic & it absolutely sucks to deal with but in the context of tangibly working toward world peace it's also not an issue to try & help such people both in material ways & in helping them learn better rather than cut them down or abandon them to a grim fate. all this to say that's why i don't think garlemald is written badly, as unpleasant as the experience might be. walks off the stage
