I call this the Unfridged AU because of the trope, and because saying "Alpheus' parents and Hammerhead's Wife are still alive" takes too long.

But yeah, that's the premise.

I love Alpheus' concept art and I've already made his dad and honorary grandad goth so of course that comes through in this version, while the little sister who only exists in this AU is sort of borrowing from what I wore at her age and what my cousin wears now, being that age herself and the daughter of two former goths.

The crash I mentioned is my version of Alpheus' parents deaths, orchestrated by Proteus by the way of him just T-boning their car in a deathproof-style Jeep or something. Here, however, Keda didn't get knocked out, and that lead to her and Chander's survival and then Kai's conception a few weeks later. She did, however, end up with her right leg broken in three places and her hip needing reconstruction, while Chander survived with a concussion that lead to contact aphasia and then selective mutism resulting from anxiety about talking.

Kai was a c-section baby because of the reconstructed hip.

Alpheus wanted the basement bedroom because he was sixteen and wanted to put as much distance between himself and his parents as possible, as one does when one's parents refuse to let you leave the house, ever, in case you get kidnapped. Tallulah got it because Alpheus already had a perfectly good bedroom on the floor below his parents and sister, and Tom wanted to keep a guest room open for other visiting family so he was finishing the basement as a bedroom whether she chose it or not. Of course, Alpheus ends up sleeping there more often than she does because of their deal, and really only uses his room to keep his clothes in. He gets the bed when she's at school, and usually sleeps on her couch when she's there anyway.

I haven't gotten around to drawing the Unfridged AU of Hammerhead's family, but there are some differences there too.

This is my opinion with Zodiac Signs. I'm the only person who believes that I know about Zodiac Signs. Because I'm not sure if it's true or not. So, I'm Aquarius with Ant and I'm the only person who I like The Deep and I writing the Zodiac Signs in The Deep Characters.

So, this is from me, I hope to 'understand' me, so yeah, I'm the only person who I writing this opinion, I know, I'm back from the dead but I don't open in this because I has my social medias and yeah, so, I hope to you like it or... Whatever you want! I don't actually... Ugh! Whatever. Understand me 😅 (I will be back soon, hehe <⁠(⁠￣⁠︶⁠￣⁠)⁠> )

I got impatient and I'm probably going to regret it tomorrow, but I ended up finishing this.

Tallulah and Finn are sort of cousins here, but like, not legally or biologically, purely through vibes and a broody grandfather. Finn thinks of her as the most normal member of the family, but sometimes she reminds him she's just weird in a different way.

Finn's 16, and I wanted to keep the two year age gap Tallulah had with Georgia, so she's 18 here and almost as tall as Will Nekton because I think it's funny. It would have been easy to connect Tallulah to the Nektons through her father and his interest in nature, but again, I thought this would be funnier.

She refuses to have anything to do with Hammerhead's feud with the Nektons, and advocated for both Finn and Maddy to get online schooling so they have options later in life. She's also doing a few online classes of her own, focusing on history and folklore with the intention of becoming a writer.

The all black outfit is partially because it makes laundry easier and doesn't show oil stains as easy, and partially because Tallulah has a couple personas she leans into as a pirate. She took inspiration from Flossie's Southern Belle affectation and has two main acts - Brooklynite businesswoman and Yorkshire cad. Brooklynite businesswoman comes out for hawking things on the floating market, Yorkshire cad comes out when people need to be intimidated. The Yorkshire cad persona may or may not have convinced someone (Alpheus) that she's a cannibal, but hey, it happens sometimes.

I saw @dark-orca-dynasty draw an incorrect quote with Ant and Fontaine in it, remembered the actual hundreds of incorrect quotes I’ve compiled, some of which wound up posted to Ao3, further remembered I know how to draw, and decided to draw a few of them. I have plenty more beyond these three and very well may just draw more

I'm still not set on the bed design but I think the kind of pod-like idea is pretty cool. I'm going to browse through some vintage furniture catalogs at some point to try and get some more ideas. The layout and room itself are pretty set in stone at this point though, but I might use the third floor plan I came up with somewhere else, like as a lounge maybe. The reference pic of the door is clipped from Mike Manalac's concept art. I wanted to match the rest of the sub without having the door take up too much space, so I copied the motif and used it as the top half of an arch doorway. I did however modify it a bit because the door itself is narrower, so I wanted it to be slightly less detailed.

The three extra colour palettes on v1 are from Nine Inch Nails album covers, and they're really only there to take up extra space.

These two siblings may be different from each other, they may fight and argue, but if you mess with the life in the sea, you mess with their family, you mess with them, and especially if you mess with the internet, they will unite to give a lesson to the bad guys.

And why did I give them gills and those eyes that are useful to see in the dark depths of the sea? Simply because I wanted to do it and that's it.

Finn has older sister energy to me, more than Fontaine.

Probably because older brothers are often depicted as jerks while older sisters are the ones with parental roles. However in The Deep it's Finn who takes over parenting while his dad's busy captaining, and Fontaine gets to be your average teen marine biologist because her parents actually parent.
