it's amazing to think and remember how kind and gentle peeta and katniss's relationship is in comparison to snow and lucy gray

to think that snow only believed so deaply that katniss didn't love peeta even thou at every turn she was ready to give ger life for that boy, the boy she loved even if at that time she didn't know, the one who saved her life so many times without even knowing.

snow did not undertand that, a love so deep and profound one was willing to die for, he had people die for him, but he was not gonna die for anyone, not for his family, his only friend, not even for the girl he loved and saved his life.

he only saw everlark as a performance because he never saw love for what it really is, sacrifice, the act to sacrifice for someone else that means so much to you, snow only used it as way of manipulation and to hold power against others.

if he never had to sacrifice anything, then he lets others do it for him.

My District 13 au

Coryo and Lucy Gray fled in this AU and ended up in district 13. Despite being safe and Coryo rose to power eventually in 13, they both hated it there. The place is no way to live a life. They made improvements but a pox outbreak happened and their son nearly dying had her husband later fully joined 13 to the rebellion. Coryo then was "elected" as President of Panem (she knows) and they moved to the Capitol and her last two children were born and grew up in the Capitol. Having raised children in district 13 where everything is surveillanced and under tight control especially before Coryo's presidency, they raised their children to trust family first and never lie to them ("lies can get you killed").

Lucy Gray is not exactly strict to her children aside from the "no lie" rule so her children gets a way with almost everything. Their shenanigans(especially Orpheus Sage's and Thalia Rose's) will never get them disowned or taken out of the will by Coryo because there will be hell to pay if he does.

People usually go to Lucy Gray first when they want her husband to approve something. They catch on that if they get Lucy Gray on their side, Coryo is more likely to accept their request or proposals.

In district 13, of course she'll find ways and loop holes to laws and rules to get what she wants (mostly to sing and for pretty things). She'd sew her clothes, make flowers out of the leftover pieces of cloth, scraps and other items she can turn to trinkets. She'd style her dull jump suit, anything really to give life to that man hole of a district

reading tbosas and witnessing all of tigris & coriolanus’ sweet moments just hurts knowing what would eventually be left of them 60 years or so later. this tigris could’ve never thought, in a million years, that she could resent her sweet little coryo so bad that she would actually let out a smile when a girl from district 12 told her that she was going to kill him. and this coriolanus could’ve never ever thought to abandon tigris, one of the only two constant people he had since he was a child, the one who had always cared for him and made him happy. this hurts, i hate that this hurts.

coriolanus snow! who’s heart drops when you mention how you want him to meet your parents. since he cares so much for you, he agrees to the idea. it should be a piece of cake he thought. your parents are wealthy people with a good reputation. he knows the benefits that come with that too.

you both agreed to do it the following day. you wanted to let your mother know ahead of time so she could get the chefs to cook some of coriolanus’ favorite foods. plus it gave coriolanus extra time to overthink. he didn’t want to disappoint either you or your parents so he chose the next best thing. asking dear tigris for advice.

tigris was ecstatic when coriolanus finally spit out what was on his mind. she could just tell that something was keeping him on his toes and finally knowing it was over a girl. whom he had only mentioned once or twice but she never thought it was THAT serious. but she was grateful nonetheless that coriolanus would ask her for girl advice.

she didn’t have much to go off of since coriolanus had only mentioned you twice but what she did know was that he was entirely smitten over you. she helped him pick out some flowers for your mother (which were white roses of course) and insisted she’d make a new dress shirt for him.

before his farewell, tigris kissed him on the cheek and wished him good luck. she knew he was in love.

just fell to my knees in walmart cause i remembered that tigris was willing to lay down her life and sell herself to make sure that coryo had food on his plate and was willing to do anything to ensure his safety while he was so quick to manipulate her love for him and eventually cast her away after she no longer had use to him

lived in fear of losing their family and pursued power to save them; ultimately was seduced by said power

forced to become soldiers and suffer consequences in the aftermath, such as symptoms of ptsd

fell in love with someone who they inevitably begin to distrust due to their own paranoia and guilt

loses said love after a confrontation and act of violence; solidifying the end of their relationship and permanently altering their feelings towards things like love

becomes a literal evil dictator after throwing away their last pieces of humanity

anakin kinda gets redeemed?? i guess?? but its been awhile since ive read the og hg trilogy so im not 100 on snow's development into his adulthood i just remember that hes manipulative and evil and obsessed with control and oh yeah so is darth vader

I wonder what came to be of Snow's granddaughter. We don't know much about Snow's children, but it's highly possible that they would go into hiding or at least keep a low profile, or maybe they would be charged for some crimes (again, there isn't enough information about them). But what about the girl?

I like the idea of Tigris somehow reaching out after the revolution, feeling protective of her. She would help her understand more about their family's past and ensure she was better than them. And after that, who knows? Maybe she moves to one of the Districts (if they still exist as we have known them) and lives far away from the Snow legacy.

And then I got carried away and started to imagine a story about Katniss' daughter and Snow's great-granddaughter meeting each other as teens/young adults. Because drama.

The very first time we see Coriolanus Snow, he is putting on his father's old dress shirt. It's the only good one he has left, the buttons made from mosaic tiles. And still, he is too proud to eat while others see him (just like his father, Highbottom tells him).

Later, Tigris tells him the thing he remembers about his father is the hate in his eyes. "You can be a good person," she says, but what she really means is don't be like him.

And in the end, Snow puts on his new, bloodred robes and Tigris can't even stand to look at him. "You look just like your father, Coriolanus." This is not her Coryo anymore, this is someone else.

From the first moment he's foreshadowed to be just like his father, a ruthless, hateful person. Now Coriolanus carries his name and his legacy.
