As the last time, this list is based on my personal likes and, ofc, on the fics I’ve read. I tried to include all GenTan flavors ❤️💜 They’re not put in any particular order and most of them are completed fics. Its muzzle is stained red with blood, and marred with a jagged scar that cuts through its dense fur.

Or: Tanjirou is a witch's apprentice with a bad habit of bringing home strays. Genya is a young man who's been called a monster so many times, he's started to believe it.

Genya letting himself to be loved, Tanjirou learning that he can also want things for himself. Just beautiful.

✨My opinions on KNY ships✨

This is something no one asked for but anyways. (This included platonic and romantic ships, and I'm a multishipper) No hate please on some of my opinions and only the ships that I know will be mentioned and NO adult x minor or sibling x sibling.

Uzuren (Tengen x Kyojuro): I love these two as either platonic or romantic, I wrote a fanfic about these two that is over 80k words so it hold a special place in my heart. This ship was also the reason I got into demon slayer. (Yes I am aware of Tengen having three wives but their dynamic was appealing)

Obamitsu (Obanai x Mitsuri): I think these two are really nice. When I first started demon slayer I didn't hold strong opinions on them but I think they're very cute now and their ending was heart breaking😭

AmaKaga (Amane x Kagaya): I love these two, they're my favourite canon couple in the series and I'm so upset that they died but at least they died together and for a greater cause.

AoIno (Aoi x Inosuke): This ship seemed to come up out of nowhere for me, like they interact and some of it's funny but would've never seen these two as a couple. It's a ship I'm meh on.

Butterfly girls (platonic, Kanae, Shinobu, Kanao, Aoi): I love the found family bond they have and I want to know more about Kanae but over all any pairing out of these four is only seen as platonic for me.

ObaSane (Obanai & Sanemi): honestly these two just seem like friends to me, like two bestie that like to talk shit about others. I know these two gossip when they get the chance and they definitely talk shit about Giyuu.

RenGiyuu (Rengoku & Giyuu): I like their dynamic of being opposites, it's appealing to me but tend to see them more as friends than anything but still a decent ship.

RenMistu (Rengoku & Mitsuri): Love the sibling bond they have but not really into them being romantic with each other.

Rengoku x Obanai: I don't have mush thoughts on this, it's meh to me.

RenKaza (Rengoku & Akaza): I used to like this ship but now I find it really weird like I'm pretty sure Rengoku hates Akaza and Akaza literally killed Rengoku, so it's a no for me.

RenSane (Rengoku & Sanemi): When Rengoku was my favourite character (he's still in my top five) I shipped him with a lot of characters so that included this ship. I personally don't see now, looking back on it.

GenMui (Genya & Muichirou): I honestly have no idea how I got into this ship, for me I ship Genya and Muichirou romantically and platonically. They're both my favourite characters and I like their personalities and possibly the height difference and their fighting style and strength. I could go on and on, I like these two :) (please don't come after me because these two don't have many interactions)

TanKana (Tanjiro x Kanao): It's cute I think this is one of the few ships I like with Tanjiro, I don't know it sits better with me than some other ships.

MuiTan (Muichirou x Tanjiro): I can see where some people are coming from, Tanjiro is a very shippable character but personally I don't ship Muichirou with anyone other than Genya from occasion-to-occasion.

ZenNezu (Zenitsu x Nezuko): ehhhhh, I'm not a big fan of Zenitsu especially in the earlier seasons but he's kinda grown on me, I don't hate this ship but I also don't really like this ship.

InoZen (Inosuke x Zenitsu): not much feeling about this other than I think Zenitsu is very straight but that's just my opinion. :[

InoTan (Inosuke x Tanjiro): I kinda shipped it but I now see them as more of brothers than romantic partners.

InoTanZen (Inosuke x Tanjiro x Zenitsu): My found brothers pairing but honestly these three are chaotic and I love them but it's definitely platonic.

GenTan (Genya x Tanjiro): These two are my babies but it's more platonic than anything, I love how their friendship had developed over the series.

MuiNezu (Muichirou x Nezuko): Similar to MuiTan I only really ship Muichirou with Genya but this ship makes less sense to me than Muitan because Nezuko and Muichirou interact less Genya and Muichirou so the ship seems to be coming out of nowhere for me.

Sanemi & Genya: God their relationship breaks every time, I love both of them and I just want them to be happy and I tend to ignore canon when comes to the ending anyways.

SaneKana (Sanemi x Kanae): Some people will argue that this ship was partly canon but I don't care, it's cute the idea of it but it's not something I personally ship.

Sanegiyuu (Sanemi x Giyuu): I'll be honest I hated Sanegiyuu when I first started getting into demon slayer, it could've been because I didn't like either Sanemi or Giyuu and thought the ship was over down. I will say it has grown on me a lot still not in my top three but I don't hate it and can kinda see where people are coming from. (I have started a plan for a Sanegiyuu fic anyways).

Shinogiyuu (Shinobu x Giyuu): Similar to Sanegiyuu but I don't ship it.

Benimaru was known to look mostly uninterested and a little annoyed the majority of the time. The people of Asakusa tended to ignore the mood he seemed to be in as they were fully aware it was just the way his face rested; they knew he was harmless unless provoked and they knew he was soft on his town.

Sometimes though, his face reflected his mood, it was a subtle difference but people who knew him could read it - especially when the temperature around him was higher and his body language said ‘stay away’. As the young man passed by the daifuku stall the owner didn’t dare give him her usual gift, the owner of the stall beside hers watched her sigh, “What’s gotten Beni-chan so upset?”

“He got into a fight with Y/N first thing.” The other replied as he picked up a treat and took a bite, chewing thoughtfully and then swallowing, “They were sparring and he sent her into a wall. Then they exchanged some words and she ran off after kneeing him in the gut.”

“They’re both so stubborn!” She tutted, “They’ll make up by tonight… they always do.”

A small crowd of sellers met in the middle and they all began to gossip about the couple, laying down bets and laughing at other fights the two had had in the past. It was harmless banter for them, not one person there wishing for Benimaru and Y/N to fight but they did enjoy reminiscing over young love.

By the lunchtime rush, it was old news.

Benimaru spent the majority the time sulking on the gentan of the guardhouse, waiting for Y/N to come back so that she could forgive him without him having to apologise. He glared at everyone who entered and asked them where Y/N was. She had her own duties as a Hikeshi, half the jobs he had given her himself; yet it still frustrated him she was out.

Konro stepped inside, a small smile crossing his lips as he saw the glowering Captain, and he held out a box of dango, “Y/N is out of town, remember?” Benimaru took the food without taking his eyes off of the entrance, “Waka.”

“Yeah, yeah she’s out.”

Konro sat beside him and started removing his boots, “Are you feeling guilty?” It was sometimes hard to get Benimaru to admit what he was feeling without getting him angry, “You were a little rough with her…” receiving no reply her took a piece of dango and ate it slowly, letting his words permeate for a second, “She was hurting, Waka.”

He clicked his tongue and mismatched eyes shifted to his second in command, “You think one of those White Clad bastards are gonna go easy on her?” His hand carded through his hair with a frustrated huff, “If she can’t put the work in-”

His eyes widened a little as his collar was snatched and Konro pulled him up slightly, “Oi, She’s working hard, Beni.” Benimaru resisted rolling his eyes, Konro’s lowered tone and slip of the Captain’s name told him he’d be in for a lecture if he answered back; though the disappointed look was enough to make him regret complaining. “She hasn’t been fighting as long as you, she’s not as physically strong but she still gives you a reason to be on your guard. You keep complaining at her and telling her to do better.”

“I’m trying to protect her.” Konro let go of Benimaru’s collar and the younger man grumbled as he fixed his clothing, “Tell her the truth. Tell her she’s doing well and that you’re impressed.”

Benimaru shoved the food in his mouth so that he didn’t have to answer right away, “She can’t take a compliment, she’ll try to stab me with her chopsticks again…”

“She gets embarrassed - what did you say to her last night the had you two running through the Guardhouse?” He had heard them chasing each other and giggling like kids.

A ghost of a smirk appeared and disappeared just as quickly, “I told her she looked pretty and she hit me with her pillow.”

Konro smiled fondly - they had always been a playful couple, even before they got together. Their little back and forth was cute… until one of them pushed it too far and they fought. “Just remember how hard you used to try and how mad you got when the Master told you to do better. Carrot and stick; it’s time to spare the stick.”

“…Your advice is always cryptic as fuck!”

Y/N was greeted at the gate by Hikage and Hinata, the girls excited to see her and chatting the entire way to the bathhouse located a short distance from the Guardhouse. She adored the girls and her heart warmed to know they had waited for her to get back, even if it was just a quick catch up before sending them home.

It had been a hard day, the argument with Benimaru, the visit to the doctor and then the errands she had to run in the city to keep certain supplies coming into Asakusa. Y/N unwrapped the bandage around her ribs so that she could shower and enjoy a long soak in the bath. It was hours after dinner, which meant the baths were empty and the owner trusted her to lock up after she was done.

The woman sunk into the water with a soft groan.

Since the attack on Asakusa a few months before and the appearance of a demon Benimaru had been on her. He trained her longer and hit her harder - over and over until she was barely able to stand.

Pushing and pushing.

It was for her own good. It was so that she could protect herself better but sometimes she felt like he forgot she was his girlfriend. She had thought she had him that morning, her strategy giving her the advantage until he snuck in with a hard palm strike that sent her flying and fractured her rib. It had been painful but she hadn’t wanted him to see because he would be disappointed, he would have thought she was weak and all her hard work would go to waste.

He kept telling her to try harder.

The steam from the bath made her face damp, making it easy to ignore the frustrated tears that escaped her eyes. She was trying so hard…

“Shut up.”

“What did I tell you about bathing alone?”

Hearing his voice she let out an annoyed sound, “In case creeps sneak into the women’s baths? Get lost, Waka.”

“Waka…” She was upset at him, wasn’t she. He didn’t have a scrap of clothing on as he walked brazenly toward the bath and entered the water opposite her, “You can handle a creep who sneaks in, fainting from the heat and exhaustion then drowning is trickier on your own.” Benimaru sat down on the inner ledge, the water lapping at his upper chest, “How’s your side?”

Y/N frowned at him, “You fractured my rib.” She blinked in surprise as his gaze lifted sharply and he moved across the bath to her side, his hands held her shoulder and waist to make her stand. The bruise on her skin was obvious to him, it was much darker now that the water had drawn it out.

“I thought you could handle it… we’ve been more evenly matched lately.” He heard her scoff and looked at her face; reaching up to brush the tear tracks on her cheeks. “You’re going to kick my ass one of these days.”

Y/N murmured for him to shut up as she stepped into him, wrapping her arms around his hips and pressing her cheek to his shoulder when he returned her hold. “You’re lying.”

“I thought you wanted more carrots…” Her head moved and he glanced down to see her eyebrows drawn together in confusion, “Konro said… I don’t know what he meant”

He’d spoken to Konro?

“It’s an old saying; Carrot and stick… a donkey will be more willing to work if you offer it a carrot rather than hit it with a stick.” It was sweet that he had spoken to Konro before coming to apologise but sometimes he really was a clueless idiot, “Are you saying I’m a donkey?”

“Just take the damn compliment, Y/N.”

“Being a donkey isn’t a compliment.” Warm water hit her face when he splashed her.

He stepped out of her reach when she tried to splash him back, “Just believe me when I say I’m proud of you,” Benimaru clicked his tongue, “You’re so difficult.”

“See.”

Y/N wasn’t great at taking praise, she didn’t like people seeing her get flustered, she didn’t like the smug look on his face when he saw how happy something he had said made her. They fought a lot, they argued and didn’t seem to get along to strangers but they fit well together. The truth was that they loved each other and they hated to be apart. “I keep pushing you because I love you and I need to know you can handle yourself. I need to know I can fight my fights and you’ll be there when the smoke clears… that you’re no gonna get hurt by some cult freak.” He let her back into his arms once he was sure she would behave, “Be mad at me, hate me if you want but don’t you ever die.”

She could never hate him, “As if I would leave your useless ass all alone.”

I did said before I had problems with this manga, idk if I feel like pointing them out? If Gotouge had issue irl therefore they rushed the manga then I hope they get another chance with the anime! Maybe not major changes but added development if that’s what they intended.

An overall of my issues are the deaths, Muzan at the end and that thing Nezuko said that she has been sleeping for 2 years. Of course I don’t care for Zenitsu’s excessive creepiness with Nezuko but its shonen so it was expected.

ANYWAY the thing I liked about last chapter! 

-Kanroji’s restaurant gives BIG portions of their dishes and I thought to the first time I went to america and order um a little TOO much for myself😂 -Kanae and Kocho😭 just smiling being happy its great. -Shinazugawa bros working together as policemen and then chasing Tanjiro’s descendant😂😂 (the little gentan crumb gotouge just fed to me so i’ll stop bitching about the manga *CHEF KISS*)     -I’m terrible and im already thinking of making a gentan reincarnation au to fill       my lonely heart, but like genya doesn’t get a new name here :( idk because         he is not a descendant but a reincarnation they probably have the same               names??🤔 -Sabito, Giyuu AND Makomo being friends like they were suppose to in their past life 😭😭its so cute they treat her so well😪 Anyway sabigiyuu’s have suffer for sooooooooo long they have rights now. -Rengoku’s descendant being bffs with Tanjiro’s descendant?? BEAUTIFUL -I think Gotouge likes parkour. -Baby tokito twins😪 I’m overly emotional that this manga ended, I started last year when I was on berlin because I couldn’t wait for the episodes to come out😂 I had high hopes which might be why I got a little disappointed mid way🙇🏻‍♀️(sorry) BUT the characters and the anime have made me fall in love with it so much I’ve made a lot of art and will keep making more??? So no matter how much I nitpick this manga, I’m truly grateful for Gotouge and their hard work! Hopefully they can make another one as they’d want.

>:) . i love gentan a lot. now im not gonna be able to give a sexy ass nuanced essay like my fellow mutuals do about their pairings but listen . i just think theyre great. i think they complement each other i think they could potentially have been rlly fucking good i think they couldve really been essential figures to the other’s development. notice the word COULDVE because yeah i admit a lot of the pairings i like come from my own perception on how they couldve developed bc like admittedly genya had way more potential and tanjirou as great and fun as he is he literally just stays static thru out the whole manga. except for a couple of small moments. but like other than that hes mr perfect BUT ANYWAY

i think for genyas part its kinda obvious. tanjirou helped him Tremendously through his relationship with his brother & overall was pretty protective over genya n shit. i think tanjirou helps/would help genya gain more confidence overall, especially thinking back to his last moments where he thought of tanjirou and his words to gain, like, the confidence and strength to go through with the mission even tho he was doubting himself. in that way, tanjirou sorta completes genya, like he reminds genya to be kinder to himself and be more confident in himself and etc etc. pretty common tanjirou behavior.

for tanjirous part... their backstories are similar in how they both experienced the deaths of their entire family (in contrast to zenitsu and inosuke, and kinda kanao because her original family’s deaths arent expanded on), but the way each of them took it provided like a backdrop to their characterizations. i know tanjirous own experience with coping and grieving isnt expanded on too much, considering how its shown that he sorta “accepted” the death of his family from the beginning (thinking back to the scene where he held that guys hand & smiled, and even if that wasnt necessarily acceptance we dont REALLY see tanjirou process his past trauma in depth ig), but i think tanjirou in general is someone that would be closed off abt his own grief and pain cuz hes the “older brother” and would naturally hide away anything he thinks would worry and upset others. i mean we already see that in how he didnt tell that little nurse butterfly girl that he had a fever for his sun breathing (self-sacrifical too) and how he was basically kinda like. not expecting to be alive by the time nezuko would become human/theyd defeat muzan (essentially accepted dying when his face got FUCKED up until zenitsu said ur not dead yet buddy; overall he doesnt accept other ppls help easily as he noted how if he were the demon in their situation nobody would help him (i forgot what manga ch that was but he said smth like that) amongst other situations). theres also one of the first demons he fought where he was talking about how as the oldest brother he needs to endure more stuff and pain and whatever whatever u know. so what the fuck im getting at by the end of all of this is that i just think as genya could develop into being more confident n sortaaaa pushy (i feel like hes naturally pushy with basically anybody except his brother and tanjirou LMFAO) and could like, help tanjirou express his feelings in its entirety more freely yknow, like both the good and the bad. like i mentioned with why im not really into inotan / zentan (like that i feel like tanjirou would always feel the need to look over them n honestly can u blame him ? theyre Crazy) but i like gentan bc i feel like they could naturally become more equal in a sense when it comes to how they balance each other out. genya could've possibly been a character to help tanjirou through his own grief that he’s internalizing and couldve been someone tanjirou could relax around and not feel the need to look over... IFFFFF AND ONLY IF his character was expanded on/didnt die that quickly n early or whatever.

I think that kinda dynamic would also work out bc of how genya couldve possibly been feeling towards his brother growing up, just watching him from a distance and wanting to help him but not being able to do anything. and his guilt when he accused sanemi would just be insurmountable. so what im getting at is that i feel like genya wouldnt want that to happen, like, again, and thats why i think he’d actually take action when he grew to be more of a risk-taker and would try 2 actually make tanjirou open up yknow. bc again tanjirou upholding his “oldest bro” title wouldve taken a toll on him if u ask me. that whole vision of himself would logically lead to a lot of bottling up of emotions. i know genya tried making that right and tried helping his bro by like, becoming a demon slayer, but again i just can see genya and tanjirou having that sorta relationship.

ANYWAY. again i do acknowledge that like, for the most part ive probably filled up parts of their personalities bc i think the both of them had more potential/couldve been developed more like i just view it sorta as a flaw how static tanjirou is and how short genya’s time was. it’s definitely possible and likely that i interpreted some scenes in a very diff way compared to others, and i mightve interpreted their characterizations differently than watever other people. but like in my big dumbo brain theyre gay theyre fun they would love eahc other 2 death they would have a lotta fun together and BLAH BLAH ! but besides the “analysis” i jusyt gave on them i just thikn theyd be awesome. mr “i thought he’d talk to me since we were both in the nude” tanjirou kamado. the way genya and tanjirou have blushed @ each other many times WOUGJOUIHJ. the way they give each other strenght . the way genya protected him in battle and thought of him during his last moments . the way tanjirou is easily impressed (u remember when he was like WOAH SO COOL about mitsuri n stuff and genya was just like ... :| ) so i just think its funny if tanjirou thought genya was cool like . .it’s genya LFMREI9WODJFSLK. i know every other person tanjirous age is like in love with him but whatevrr tanjirou would crush on my homeboy genya 🙄 . iwas gonna say something else but i totally just forgot

God this is so stupid but recently tiktok and just social media in general has made me feel like such shit ab myself. Like i see these gorgeous people and i know i look nothing like them and im starting to doubt even the one thing im confident about (my body). I just wanna cover my face in a paper bag and never take it off. When it gets really bad i even fantasise about tearing my face off or cutting my tongue. I feel like im never gonna be good enough or lool good enough or be feminine enough cuz im too lazy to put on makeup and dress like a model every day. I wanna fall in love and i wanna be loved but idk if either of those things will ever be possible for me from how average i look and act. I cant see myself as desirable im almost any way and idk if thats ever gonna change. But that shits always been my dream. And ik im not supposed to measure my self worth on other peoples love but idk how else to exist, ive been doing it since i knew of myself.

And for some reason ive started getting annoyed with a friend. Which is so stupid becouse she hasnt even done anything and shes amazing but i just. Cannot stand her. It feels like shes always complaining and shes starting to give off annoyed energy as well which makes me *more* annoyed, even though i know its cuz im giving the og annoyed vibes.

But yeah in short i had a slow buildup of insecurities that boiled over cuz a girl said that her lips are thin even though they very much werent and id *die* to have lips like hers, and i saw gentan fanart that made me feel unlovable.
