This is an entire collection that is interwoven with each other. Hair is repositoried to different ages, genders, defaults, and even hidden toddler hair. It's highly recommended that the collection stay intact and that you have the Ultimate Collection or all EP/SP. Recategorizers do not work with this collection

Not all hair works with each sims' faces and not all sims' faces work with each hair. So keep in mind foreheads, cheeks and ears may poke out. Previews are available at LordCrumps.com

The collection includes add ons that may require the defaults and are flagged as "Store Edition" hair. TS4 hairs range from base game to the most recent Stuff Pack (Home Chef Hustle). More hair may be included as add ons in the future.

Most of these hairs exist already in the realm of the community as custom hairstyles. Any of my hair previously converted (shrink, servo, santa hat, etc) should be removed; they'll be included in this collection.

I only ask that you do not reupload these original files (breaking down to packs, gender, etc) as they are intertwined and may not work without their exclusive counterparts. Please do not make these hairs as customs for reupload.

This took about... 8 months to complete. I've (re)converted all of these myself to my current expectations of my conversion content. This was play tested thoroughly over the course of that time. If there are any issues, please don't hesitate to send an ask. The file size is massive even compressed, but to be honest it's pretty decent for 500+ hair.

daniel looks happy. max doesn’t know why that surprises him—maybe he’s projecting his emotions (his therapist says he does that quite often) onto the man. the surprise makes sense though, max thinks, as he watches the australian chatter away with the engineers, the largest toothy smile spread across his face like he never left red bull behind in 2018. if it were max who had gone through the mclaren bullshit along with not having a guaranteed seat for the upcoming 2023 season, and he had to settle for a third driver position: he would scourge the world with his fury.

but: it’s not max, it’s daniel. it’s daniel, who was warmly welcomed back into navy blue (papaya did not suit him), it’s daniel, who doesn’t snap at the marketing team when they ask how he’s “coping” with not being on the grid. it’s daniel, who becomes friends with checo easily. it’s daniel, who’s scheduled to fulfill the pr activities that the two red bull drivers refuse to complete. it’s daniel, who has clocked in insane hours in the sim and factory while max has been enjoying his off-season. 

it’s daniel, who hasn’t shown any signs of disappointment about not having a seat this year.

if he won’t show or admit it, max will. having a race weekend without daniel doesn’t feel right. max knows this, even though the season hasn’t started yet: he’s going to be miserable. it’s like when daniel left him the team. of course, max had pushed daniel away after he signed with renault. what was he supposed to do? react calmly with the emotional intelligence he didn’t have? max thought the man hated him when he didn’t tell him that he was leaving before the news was released. 

regardless, instead of the australian leaving, this time around he’s coming back, which max had originally believed was the best thing to ever happen. he’s not so sure of that anymore. daniel belongs in the car chasing him with the smell of burning rubber and petrol surrounding them. max doesn’t appreciate how the smell of race tracks has already disappeared from him. he could tell it was missing when daniel made a show of giving max the biggest hug as soon as he stepped foot in the factory.

Slasher U 1-Year State of the Union / Unholy Census!

Holy fucking shit we're coming along towards the 1-year anniversary of the release of the Slasher U Act 1 alpha!! We've come SO FUCKING FAR. Sawyer wasn't even a romanceable option back in the day! As of April 27th, it'll be Slasher U's first ever anniversary!

Mostly, I am SO FUCKING GRATEFUL that you all came along on the adventure to make my weird horny dating RPG a smash fucking hit!! Taking narrative seriously in dating/adult games was kind of my entire M.O (is?? mods??) and I am SO GRATEFUL Y'ALL UNDERSTAND WHAT I'M TRYING TO DO HERE lmao

THE BIG NUMBERS

As of 11:21 AM EST on 3/23/24, Slasher U: Act 1 has sold 6,100 copies across Steam & itch.io (Not including the copies sold as part of Games for Gaza that weren't redeemed/downloaded, so this only counts people who actually downloaded or bought the game!). This is obviously BEYOND MY WILDEST FUCKING DREAMS AND I CANNOT THANK YOU ENOUGH HOLY SHIT. I didn't even realize it until I added it all together. (On top of this, we sold several fucking tens of thousands of games for Games for Gaza!! Hell yeah!)

For my fellow solo devs out there, this comes to Slasher U making a total of about $6,000 + $2,000 net USD through sales (the former) and crowdfunding (the latter, for Slasher U: Act 2) over the last 11ish months!! The game started off being free for the first 6ish months, then went to $6.69 for the Beta (with dong! whoa!!), and now at its full size, stands at a good ol' $14.99 for 15 hours of primo datin' sim!

This is objectively the most money I've ever made off of anything I've developed in my entire life, and paid my whole ass rent for the entire year, so THANK YOU HOLY SHIT. According to Steam, most indie games barely break $1k in total, so I am AGOG. FUCKING AGOG. THANK YOU FOR LIKING MY GAME AND LETTING ME MAKE MORE VIA NOT DYING FROM CAPITALISM

The average review score, across 89 reviews on itch.io, remains 4.9 out of 5 stars, and we're rocking a 93% Positive on Steam!!

No, okay, but for real, I started working in games professionally in 2009 (yeah yeah i'm old. i am 32 and i am dying and they're coming for me in the corpse wagon etc) and I burned out in 2016 and came back two years ago with THIS THING and I can tell you RIGHT FUCKIN' NOW that, if you have ever wanted to make a game and the big guys aren't gonna do it, grab yourself and/or some friends and fuckin' make a video game. I have worked for a bunch of AA and mobile companies and I can tell you right the fuck now that this is the most fulfilling experience I have ever had writing a video game. I taught myself programming logic to make this thing! And sound design! I fucking learned to animate sprite sheets!! YOU CAN ALSO DO IT given the time and energy (pace yourself don't die)! And there won't be any execs around to tell you your weird niche game won't sell!! BECAUSE IT FUCKING WILL

Anyway, my entire career as a game designer, nobody let me write shit for them. You don't need permission to make stuff or write stuff. If you write it, they will fuckin' come, Field of Dreams style (also don't forget to tell everyone you made stuff and share it around. super key here. lmao). Turns out writing is all about sharing yourself with people, and who knows, you might just find that a fuckton of people ACTUALLY relate to you. (And that you're a pretty good writer. Which you knew. 3. 1-3 games you’ve played in the past 12 months that you really enjoyed

the first Pillars of Eternity game (as evident by how much I've been posting about it) is still great and I 100% recommend it, it is darker fantasy than Dragon Age and there are a couple of Yikes Moments close to the beginning, but you WILL love at least one of your party members and the writing is pretty great. also a lot of its soundtrack was used in season 2 of Critical Role, and there is significant vibe/theme overlap, so if you enjoyed that season you'll probably like something about POE1 (also there are a lot of voices from the cr cast in the game itself. Matt Mercer notoriously voices two(2) of your best friends party members)

Dragon Age: Origins! The OG. The reason I'm even on this website. I had a pretty major reset when I realized that I accidentally locked myself out of Zevran's romance and now I have to do the Sacred Ashes quest again, but once I get through it things will get fun again. I've had a lot of fun writing Kyana meta based on this playthrough earlier this year, and I'm sure I'll have more things to say when I GET OUT OF THAT TEMPLE

I started playing The Sims 4 between writing sessions during NaNo. I made an off-brand Evelyn and another household based on two very old OCs, and I was really invested in them for a while (to the point of considering making fanart of the second household). I stopped playing at some point, but I think that, like Stardew Valley, this is going to be a fun thing to come back to every once in a while.

5. Game(s) coming out that you’re looking forward to

I played the demo for GLITCHED: The RPG a couple of years ago and it's been on my Steam wishlist even since. I don't actually know what's going on with the game (I think it was announced that it would come out in 2023 and then it didn't?), but I really hope that it will come out eventually because the demo is A Lot of my favorite things packed into one game. Like, honestly, even if the game won't be out for a while, I think that the demo itself is a really fun experience.

also, despite everything surrounding Dreadwolf, I'm definitely looking forward to it! though somewhat concerned about actually running the game because I Do Not Think my laptop will be able to handle it.

6. A series you’ve enjoyed since your early days of gaming and still enjoy to this day whether it still has games coming out or is one you return to

.........I mean, this is very much a Dragon Age blog. DA:O was one of my first RPGs (Skyrim was the other) and Here We Are all those years later

I haven't actually played it yet, but Challenging A Queen from Stray Gods. I'm definitely going to play it, though, because this is another game that looks like it was made personally For Me. and this song absolutely rules (my favorite version is the first one they played in this video)

23. A “Wow” moment of awe

...technically I didn't play this one either, but I watched a full playthrough of Wandersong on youtube, and the final song sequence I can't really talk about without spoiling everything was. very. Emotional(TM)

also for a more somber kind of awe, I really like the ambience in Emprise du Lion in DA:I and the White March DLC's entire deal in Pillars of Eternity. in both cases the environment made me just kind of pause for a second and take it all in (actually, adding to the song thing, the Abydon's Shell soundtrack from The White March is haunting)

1.What’s your favourite sims death?

there's so many funny deaths in ts2, but I rarely see them (I can't help it I like keeping my sims alive lmao....) I have seen the satellite death only twice in.... almost 20 years? Also think murphy bed death is pretty entertaining. oh, and that sims can spontaneously combust if too warm.

2. Alpha CC or Maxis Match?

funny I was just talking about this with @nappe-plays-the-sims on discord. My style is definitely maxis mix/semi-realistic. I think it'd probably be fully alpha in ts4 though, if my computer could handle it. but for ts2, I don't like how a lot of alpha cc looks, so it stays squarely in the mix category.

3.Do you cheat when your sims gain weight?

hm. mostly not? there are certain sims that don't fit personality wise and I've cheated (in both directions both fat loss and gain) sheerly because their fitness just barely dipped and it didn't make sense. also as a storytelling simblr, I need consistency, so sometimes I'll cheat it for the moment, but then return them to their new fit/fat state once I have a bit of a time lapse.

4. Do you use move objects?

literally constantly. I mean, I have to to pose scenes, but also decoration in my game is ridiculously off grid so 🤷‍♀️

5. Favorite mod?

I legitimately don't think I can pick one. I have like 200 'curated' mods that I have mostly been using for literally a decade. Even in my "cc free" game I still have my mods folder and my defaults in. That being said, if forced to, I wouldn't be able to live without ACR/Romantic Standards, and the Traits Project.

6. First expansion/game/stuff pack you got?

Glamour Life Stuff, but I pretty much followed the release date for ts2. for TS4, the entire reason I redownloaded the game was Cottage Living so... that one.

7. Do you pronounce “live mode” like aLIVE or LIVing?

Live as in 'we are Live 🎬" (because literally that's how I always pictured it. the game is in action now, it's live.)

8. Who’s your favorite sim that you’ve made?

uhm.... probably Evren, though no one has seen much of him yet. I just think he's pretty.

9. Have you made a simself?

I have.... about 12 years ago. and that sim can stay back there LMAO.

10. What sim traits do you give yourself?

hm. I suppose Gloomy, Maker, Socially Awkward. it took me a while to decide though.

in ts2, I guess the red is okay? idk there's a reason all my hair is defaulted.

in ts4, I specifically like the light blonde and the dirty blonde, but would like to set the one labeled "blonde" (the yellow one) on fire.

see above answer. I'm just... not a fan of ts2 hairs. When I was a baby, I used to use exclusively this hair on men (like they literally all had that hair it was kinda funny), before I discovered cc. but now I think I'd probably pic Caesar if I had to.

Teen through Adult. I like them all probably equally, but I spend a LOT of time at Uni 😂 I don't understand why everyone wants shorter UNI mods lmaooo.

14. Are you a builder or are you in it for the gameplay?

can I say neither? what you guys are playing the game???? jk jk. uhm... I guess I'll say builder, but honestly a good portion of my time is literally posing. though said scenes are normally based off gameplay. but I don't get to play that often. like ie: the story posts I'm posting now are literally based off gameplay from 6 months ago so....

15. Are you a CC creator?

Yup!~ though it's not consistent, in posting schedule or what I tend to make so 🤷‍♀️ (that being said, I do have hair retextures I'm literally planning on posting this week.)

I feel like I do, but I don't wanna post favorites and hurt someone's feelings. 😂 that being said, there's like 3-5 people I talk to almost daily.

in case it's not obvious, it's ts2. I do like ts4 now with all the dlc now though. but ts2 will always be my ride or die tbh.

I... don't think so.... I'm pretty sure I don't. I would be willing though probably. I mean, I sorta want a sims tattoo, and that's a lot more permanent than merch so.

I do not. I don't really.... like youtube that much. or letsplays.... or filming myself.

20. How has your “sim style” changed throughout your years of playing?

oh god. idk man, I was heavy into the whole scene kid 2008 type stuff back when I first started creating cc and stuff, let alone playing, so like.... "a lot" is really all I have. I'd like to say that it's improved? I definitely think my photo/editing skills are better.

21. What’s your Origin ID?

I want to say it's potential-x-fate but i am not 100% sure on that... I don't think I've ever shared anything for ts4 anyways though.

22. Who’s your favorite CC creator?

that depends heavily on what you're looking for. @deedee-sims, @mdpthatsme, and @serabiet for clothing come to mind.

Makeup by far is probably @lilith-sims. and JesstheEx (LJ).

Hair I do a lot of my own retextures, but @antoninko also does a lot of sunshine retextures.

For b/b I couldn't even begin to decide. I don't have as much and it's all over the place.

for TS4, like, literally 85% of my CAS is @pralinesims and I have 0 B/B so.... it's pretty much just Praline LMAO.

23. How long have you had a simblr?

technically? since 2008. I migrated here from LJ around then. but this account is newer than that, cause I used to have it as a side blog and that was not very convenient. the old account I deleted after I moved everything I wanted over. I also took a 3 year break from 2016-2019.

24. How do you edit your pictures?

Carefully. lmao. jk jk. uh.... lets see. I crop them (via my own action), apply actions (mostly other people's) depending on the scene, edit any clipping by hand painting, add in hair strands a lot of the time, and uh, then I add a 1% monochromatic noise filter, and the white border frame.

25. What expansion/game/stuff pack do you want next?

since I play ts2 this isn't really applicable. but in the magical world of Allie Gets What They Want, I'd want a fix for ts2 to allow more customizability via CAS. by that I mean, I want more slots for skin details/tattoos/etc and accessories and such like they have in ts4, but in ts2. Obviously this is theoretical. but it's the thing I miss most in ts2.

26. What expansion/game/stuff pack is your favorite so far?

ahhh.... for ts2, I probably play with Uni the most, but ts2 was better at integrating gameplay elements into their EPs so I'd be hard pressed to drop any of them, even ones I "don't use" that often. (ie: nightlife came with chemistry and I'd die without it, even though I don't use any of the downtown functions often.)

Uhhh so apparently at some point during my first week back to school I got 200 followers? BONKERS. I think I follow like 900ish folks but am endlessly delighted that anyone would look at my pixel babies! <3 So, in celebration, here are some details of each heiress from the first Sims 4 legacy challenge I ever completed (the Autumnal Zodiac Challenge). It was a 12-generation legacy challenge and took me like 7 months to do since I was playing it on the normal lifespan. They are very much alpha, and from before I learned to clutter up my spaces.

In order: Calliope, Tallo, Alice, Harriet, Deborah, Marlowe, Hannah, Eleanor, Penelope, Tilly, Sinead, annnd Amser!

Calliope was the Aquarius generation, she liked yoga and hosted a weekly movie night with her best friends. Her husband was Akira Kibo, and they had 3 kids overall.

Thallo was the youngest child of Calliope and Akira's kids (who died while she was still a teen), and was the Pisces. She was bisexual, a hopeless romantic, with heterochromia. She loved dyeing her hair and painting, and had two daughters who absolutely loathed each other. Had a lot of romantic drama before marrying the only child of Gunther Munch and Liberty Lee, Scott Much-Lee.

Alice was your stereotypical hot-headed, high-energy Aries. She and her older sister fought nonstop until they were both young adults. She completed the athletic aspiration, so lived long enough to meet her first great-grandchild before kicking it. She only had one child.

Harriet (Taurus) loved gardening, cooking, and karaoke in fairly equal measure. Since she found being an only child to be quite lonely, she had four kids, two of whom were twins. Possibly one of the most peaceful generations of this legacy.

Deborah (Gemini) was one of my most favorite heiresses to play, since she had such a messy life that consisted of moving out to the big city on her own, cheating on her partners, having twins of her own, living in an apartment that required constant fixing-up, and making it as a freelance writer. She was also a total dog person, and loved spicy food. I don't think she ever missed a festival in San Myshuno.

Marlowe (Cancer) was the older twin, and aspired to be the perfect mom and housewife. She made a packed lunch for her kids and husband every day, had her family and friends over every Sunday for a tea party complete with three different types of pastries

Hannah (Leo) absolutely hated how smothered she felt by her mother and dreamed of being a singer-songwriter. Which, she was very successful as, and ended up being the first celebrity in the family. She had a one-night stand with a fan after a show and ended up pregnant, but had very little interest in parenting. She had a number of lovers throughout her life, but never married.

After a rough childhood in which she was more or less ignored and left to her own devices, Eleanor (Virgo) was the definition of self-reliant. She and her husband separated for a brief time due to him cheating on her, but they worked through it. She created a robot that helped her by cleaning the house and cooking while she focused on her science career.

Penelope (Libra) was another favorite heiress of mine! She was an internet celebrity due to her family blog. She loved taking pictures, and in fact had an entire wall in her Windenburg home covered in the family photos she had taken over the years. She loved camping, traveling to new hot spots, and spending time with her big family.

Tilly (Scorpio) was an actual genius who grew up to become a police detective, specializing in solving murders. She was a big fan of psychological thrillers and mystery novels, and upgraded every single appliance in their house. Her husband, who was her high school sweetheart, ended up cheating on her with her younger sister, which shattered her heart. She remarried a coworker when she was an elder.

Sinead (Sagittarius) was a hot mess who loved clubbing, hooking up with random men, and traveling. She lived in Selvadorada, Sulani, San Myshuno, and finally settled down in Strangerville. She had three daughters with three different men, never married, and never wound up in a committed relationship. Btw, the first picture of a toddler wandering off towards the moon is of a baby Sinead, already demonstrating her wanderlust.

And finally, we have Amser (Capricorn). Ngl, she was my favorite. As the eldest of her siblings, she had a strong sense of responsibility starting at a very young age. Since her mother provided no direction, Amser was extremely self-disciplined, getting A's throughout her childhood and college years. She was a lesbian and had no interest in having her own children, having more-or-less raised her siblings, but she was a dedicated aunt and loved cats. She became stupid-wealthy, impressive since by this point the family was already crazy rich, and when she died she divided her assets amongst her siblings, niblings, and grand-niblings.

And that's it! I had a lot of fun with that legacy challenge, and have wanted to complete another ever since. I did several in Sims 3 and Sims 2, but for some reason seem to get a lot more easily distracted for Sims 4.

A Year of Khaos: 2023 Review

Welp. 2023 is officially over and we're onto another year. I wanted to put together some kind of year in review thing and since I didn't get a chance to do it during my final stream of the year, I thought I'd just put it all together into a blog post. So here's an overall look at the year:

2023 was my "throw everything at the wall and see what sticks" year in an attempt to really feel out what I wanted to do with streaming. So my plan was to pick a Thing for each month, really go all-in on it for the month, and make something focused around that by the end. Then change for the next month, rinse and repeat.

I've always been a Jack-of-all-Trades, which is as much a blessing as it is a curse. I CAN do just about anything if I decide I want to do it, but that also means there's no One Thing I'm really good at. The only One Thing I have is something that's borderline impossible to stream, which is writing. So... Project Year. Try everything, see what sticks.

So I present, the various skills I attempted to build throughout the year and the final product they produced:

In addition to the projects I was working on throughout the year, I was also working on the 3.0 model at the same time. Throughout the entire year. Which, I came to realize was kind of a mistake trying to do both. I just barely got the model done in time because my time was so heavily split between so many things. Especially when you add that I was ALSO still editing videos for Youtube all the way until September. (which was a full 12-hour day, twice a week) So I was working on completely rebuilding my models from scratch in a program I was wildly unfamiliar with (blender), doing a new project every month, streaming 3x's a week (usually upwards of 6 hours), AND editing 12-hours a day twice a week to post 2 videos and 2 shorts every week.

It was... a lot.

Last year was a lot.

Too much. Even for me.

There were even a few more things on the list that I wanted to try out this year, but ended up not being able to figure out how to stream it. Baking, for example.

But I'm hoping to find something I can really focus on for the coming year and lessen at least some of my constant uncertainty about what I'm doing with life. And maybe ease up on the work, in general. If I was awake, I was working last year. I was so burnt out and exhausted by the time December rolled around, I had no energy left for my biggest event of the year. Honestly, I'm still exhausted. I wanted to get this post out ages ago but I just had no energy to write it.

I need to ease up a bit next year. Figure out what I actually want to do. But I feel like I have a slightly better handle. Maybe.

We'll see how it goes.

As a final note, here's a list of every game I played throughout 2023, which was honestly a lot. I try to finish as many games as I can, especially the horror games, with the exception of co-op games or sims. Some unfinished games (like Hollow Knight and A Hat in Time) I plan to finish at some point. Others, like Digimon Survive, I've decided to drop for good. Whereas yet others, I'll probably finish on my own as an off-stream game. (Slime Rancher 2 I'll probably play by myself but I've played through Ni no Kuni like 3 times in the past so I'm fine leaving that one where it was).

My horror game backlog is massive so Indie Horror Nights are guaranteed to return in 2024. Obviously. Horror is kind of a thing. Variety Night is also guaranteed to return because I like having a day where I can just do what-the-fuck-ever.

However, I don't know if Project Night will be a set thing in the future. Additionally, I'm considering adding a fourth stream day but I haven't committed to the idea yet. I want to get back to fashion design but I don't think I'll be picking the seasonal collections back up for this year. Maybe just do themed outfit sets, instead. I may also try making them in blender instead of VRoid this year, as well.

There are a lot of decisions to be made about 2024 still.

I'm not sure what I want out of this coming year yet. But thank you to everyone who puts up with my perpetual indecisiveness, there will be more in the future.

Here's to a new year and new possibilities.

Choices, Choices

I could stuff my face. Make myself a huge serving of fries and a vegan burger. Heck, I could go buy some vegan cheese and make it a double. Top it with some caramelized onions and go to town. Drench the entire thing in a borderline nauseating amount of ketchup, sneak the entire ensemble to my room, and devour it in private.

But then I look down at my thighs. These thighs that are always too big, too thick, too chunky. I look and I notice they are starting to become smaller. They are starting to become almost likeable. And I think to myself, "is it worth it?" Are the burgers and fries worth it? I even have some vegan chicken nuggets in the freezer. But is it worth it? Is it worth shoveling all the food into my mouth and wanting more and more and more, never having enough, never being satisfied? Is it worth watching all my hard work unravel? Is it worth the nonexistent energy levels and depression? Is it worth the rapid weight gain?

Right before I turn 24 in 3 months, will it be worth it when I step on the scale and see that I still weigh just under 160? Will it be worth it when I break down into tears because my birthday is tomorrow and I am still fat? Will it be worth it when I see where I could have been if I had just lost one single, measly pound a week every week for 3 months?

Will it be worth it when it's my birthday party and I'm thumbing through my closet trying to find something to wear? Will it be worth it when I skip past the beautiful dresses and cute crop tops and go for something bland and boring because it's the only thing that fits?

I have another choice.

I could decide the better way to spend my evening hours is to go for a walk with my dog then come back home to boot up my laptop, play the Sims 4, and drink water until it's time for me to go to bed. I could even tidy up my room and put on a cute pajamas set before I settle down to play.

Tomorrow morning, when I wake up, I don't know how much I'll weigh. I don't know how flat my stomach will look. But I'll know it's better than today. I have my estimated calorie count to prove it. I have my steps count to prove it. I have my known water intake to prove it. I can go to bed tonight knowing that no matter how I look tomorrow or what the scale says, I lost weight. Sure, maybe water might throw the scale off and make it seem like no progress was made. But I know that if everyday were to look like today, I will be on track to skinny. The day to day fluctuations will eventually even out and I'll see the progress sooner or later.

After all, true progress is not measured from one day to the next, but over time. Weeks, months, years.

It's during the late fall and early winter season when I'm considering wearing a chunky sweater. Do my legs look small or not?

It's during Christmas season when I'm looking in the mirror after pulling on an oversized sweater and impractically short shorts, checking if my legs look small enough this year for the outfit to be adorable, or if they're too big and I'm going to have to wait to try again the following year.

It's next summer when I'm picking out a swimsuit to wear. Do I automatically reach for a bikini because I've reached my ugw a long time ago and that's the new normal, or do I still have to wear my worn out one piece to cover up as much as possible?

That is true progress, long term success. And that is built during the day to day decisions. That is built by deciding to go for a walk instead of binge. That is built by performing actions on a daily basis, not just hopping on a scale from time to time or checking in the mirror. The truth is, these daily actions are what drives the scale readings and the mirror's image. My success tomorrow is determined by my actions right now, not tomorrow morning during my weigh in.

Ending with another Ross quote because I love him so much lol. I think I've overlooked this side of him lately. He's like, he wasn't really there for his daughter when she was little so now he's making up for it spoiling all his descendants like crazy. Maybe it's time to consider replacing one of his traits with "family oriented" because my guy is totally family oriented.

Vermeer is one of my favourite artists, so I enjoy reading about his work. (The Milkmaid is my favourite painting of his).

what’s your favorite movie you saw in theaters this year? i don't thiiiiiiink I've been to the cinema this year. But my favourite film I've seen this year is The Merciless (2017).

what do you usually wear? during the hotter months, it'll be shorts and tank top, but only if I'm at home. Outdoors, I tend to wear high neck tops, trousers, skirts, dresses, and a jacket (if it's not too hot). I much prefer cooler months because I like to hide behind an oversized jacket/coat lol. Basically, smart casual, nothing short or too low cut.

how tall are you? 5'10", baby!!! Sometimes a bit shorter, sometimes taller. It depends on... idk... stuff. things.

what’s your star sign? do you share a birthday with a celebrity or a historical event? i'm an Aries (with a Leo sun and Gemini rising 🙃🙃). I share my birthday with Bette Davis and Hayley Atwell, so not too bad. Ah! I also share my birthday with my granddad. As for historical events, it mainly involves historical figures returning home, the Mayflower returning to England, Europeans discovering Easter Island- things of that nature. But an actual cool one is that the first performance of Beethoven's 2nd Symphony in D took place in 1803 on me birthday

do you go by your name or a nickname? my nickname. I HATED my name when I was a child and I wouldn't let anyone refer me to do it. The only person who has consistently called me by my actual name is my sister. I'm now over the reasons why I didn't like it back then. My only gripe with it now is that it sounds very similar to a more popular name, so people mishear my name all the time.

did you grow up to become what you wanted to be when you were a child? nahhh. When I was about 3 or 4, my sights were on becoming a dog in my future... I am yet to figure that one out without putting on a fursuit or committing crimes against god, man, science, and one's own good taste.

are you religious? nope! i grew up as a jehovah witness in a pretty strict household. although now that i'm older and i look into other people's experiences within that cult, i can see that i got lucky with my parents. they let us kids do things that were against the rules, but that still didn't stop me from sustaining a bit of religious trauma and internalised homophobia 😤 i'm still salty about my religious upbringing.

what’s something you wish to have at this moment? money, direction, a different place to live (preferably nicer/bigger), and for my cat's x-rays and blood work not to come back with anything too serious

3. 1-3 games you’ve played in the past 12 months that you really enjoyed: It took me a while to remember the games I've played that were newish in the past year, but the answer to this question is Marvel's Midnight Suns. I had so much fun with that game. It sucks it didn't do well financially (though not surprising as it's entire mechanics both with combat and exploration and RPG sim like interactions is very niche) but I'm so glad I got it.

8. A series you haven’t played but are interested in trying: If you know me you know I hate horror games, but I've also been trying to get into horror games cause why not. I've played through Dying Light and really enjoyed it and now I'm playing through Dying Light 2 (some fan complaints have made the developers add stuff that is very frustrating, but it's whatever), so a series I'm interested in trying, and well try later this year is Dead Island. Though I'll only be playing Dead Island 2 once it drops not the first one, but it looks fun and brighter than most horror games so it might be easier for me to get through.

15. Do you have a backlog and do you keep track of it? If so, how?: I definitely have a backlog and I just keep track of it in my head. I buy any game I want and then if I don't finish it it just stays with me till I either finish it sometime in the future or I write it off as a game I'll never complete.

2021: "What's happening to me? Why am I so psyched about Power Washer Simulator? Why did I spend nearly as much time in Mechanic Simulator 2021 as I did in Skyrim? Why do I persist in being hyped for House Flipper despite reports of horribly unoptimized code?"

FALLING IN LOVE WITH SINGLE PLAYER GAMES AGAIN

Throughout the month of May our internet was down for multiple days at a time which meant I couldn’t play my usual “live service” games so I ended up diving into Ratchet and Clank: A Rift Apart. I haven’t touched the game since it initially released in 2021, not even kidding I only played up to the first 10mins of the game, and I decided to just jump right in and I am SO HAPPY I did. I ended up finishing it after 3 nights, a full 100% including collectibles, and as the credits rolled I sat there and just thought — holy cow, I forgot what its like to play something that has an actual ending.

For some context, the last time I completed a game with a definitive “end” was Assassin’s Creed 2 which was during a play through I was doing on my stream and that was back in 2013 just before I moved to California. Yep you caught that, it’s been TEN YEARS since I completed a single player game. I have realized that since I started working in the video game industry, particularly with live service products, I would feel compelled to spend time only those games - I mean I work on them so I should prioritize them right? Well in doing so I’ve inadvertently taken away a bit of joy from myself in playing and exploring a world that has a defined “end” to it.

That’s not to say all live service games are bad but I’ve come to a point in my life where the places I spend my time (and money) is starting to matter even more to me than it did ten years ago and so thanks to losing internet (repeatedly btw but four days straight has been the longest without it) I have started diving back into more single play experiences. What currently has my attention:

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild

Very late to the party I know BUT this was another casualty to me getting distracted and forgetting. I had tried to play in 2017 - got distracted - picked it up again with a new save in 2020…got distracted 10mins in…and now we are back at it! I l am much further along than I was before and I just finished unlocking the entire map so I can more freely explore, I’m so excited!

Spyro The Dragon Remastered Trilogy

I love this cute purple dragon so much. I was working on a play through on stream of the original Spyro before this remaster came out but picking it up fresh with the beautiful new graphics is chef’s kiss

Now me drifting back to single player games definitely doesn’t mean I am done with live service, Disney Dreamlight Valley and The Sims do exist and those who know me know I am all in on them, but it has been just really nice losing myself into some games that don’t feed into my FOMO due to limited time events.

The Sims 4 Horse Ranch confirms release date, and I’m shouting yee-haw

Now that The Sims 4's next expansion pack has been made public, I'm eager to explore the new paths it will take me. Although EA won't be using horses in The Sims for the first time, Horse Ranch appears to be the best one yet. The Sims 4 is delivering a variety of new western-themed features with the next expansion, from equestrian sports to entirely new farm animals. Horse Ranch is jam-packed with often asked-for content. The first and most obvious addition coming with Horse Ranch is, well… horses. Not only are we getting horses though, but we are getting a variety of equestrian events like dressage and jumping for our Sims to partake in. Considering the strong cowboy vibes shown in the trailer, rodeos are also likely to come with Horse Ranch. Aside from riding-related sports, Sims will be able to breed and care for their horses, raise their foals, and watch the magical beasts interact with other animals. You read that right, other animals are also coming with the expansion. Goats and sheep are making their way to your Sims’ farms, adding more life to the already existing animals from the Cottage Living pack. Horses, goats, and sheep have all been highly requested by Simmers since the aforementioned expansion’s release, especially due to other animals like chickens and cows having been included. Horse Ranch’s reveal trailer showed the new animals off in every mood, from adorably angry baby sheep stomping their hooves to wild horses rejecting Sims’ training efforts. It feels like a cowboy-inspired Wild West pack through and through, as all the Sims shown in the teaser are wearing the iconic western hats and boots. The baby goats are seriously the cutest things I have ever seen. I’m not sure I can wait a whole month to let my inner horse girl out if I’m completely honest. I suppose if I have had to wait years already since playing with horses in The Sims 3, I can survive a little longer. We can only hope for cars and fairies now, EA may just listen after giving us horses. i've deleted the posts from the legacy i started when infants came out bc realistically i'm not gonna go back to it, i don't think i posted enough for it to be worth leaving the family on here and also i plan on starting another legacy at some point that will be very similar to them anyways

i will hopefully be getting a proper pc sometime in the next couple of months so my plan is to not start any new saves until then bc i want to just wait til i have the new pc to sort all my mods/cc and now that i will hopefully have a lag free game the idea of playing on my current laptop doesn't spark that much joy and idk i'd rather start a fresh family on the new computer than have one i'm already midway through

i've been playing some of my sims 3 midnight sun family. i'm gonna start queuing gen 3 sometime today and i think i'm gonna try and continue playing and posting til the entire challenge is complete. but idk, my interest is unpredictable so i might take some breaks along the way. once that challenge is complete, i'm planning to go for 5 gens, i won't be posting any saves on here until i get my new pc, which may mean another mini/long hiatus but idk maybe i'll be inspired to build a house or create a random sim, we'll see

assuming my plan to get a proper pc goes well, i have a lot of sims 3 and sims 4 challenge/legacy plans that i've been wanting to do but just couldn't either bc my laptop straight up can't handle the game (ts3) or the lag has reached kind of irritating levels that makes my interest in playing leave quite quickly (ts4), so hopefully i'll be posting a lot more frequently than i have been for the past couple of years.
