#I really love jealous Cardan

Small spoiler about tpt:
At the end of the book Jude and Cardan go on a diplomatic mission in the undersea to watch Nicasia choose her fiancé, which made me wonder: are Cardan and her still friends? I don't know much about royalty, but I found this invitation so strange, like 'come and watch me choose my future fiancé so I can make sure you respect our treaty'? It's a genuine question.
Also, has she invited other nobles? Why is Nicasia being forced to marry if not even the sons of the High King Eldred have gone? And most importantly: after more than ten years, does she no longer feel anything for Cardan? Because damn it, I would never get over that man. I hate Nicasia (do I hate her more than Taryn?) but I always found her and Cardan's friendship cute(?), she may be horrible, but we have to admit that she had a real friendship with Cardan and well, that boy forgave her even after he caught her with Locke in his own bedroom, so it's clear that he likes her too.
I wish they were still close, but it also makes me jealous (crazy) that there are lots of things about Cardan that she knows and Jude doesn't. Speaking of her, after all, I'd like them to have a good relationship too. Like in TCP, when Jude wakes up in Locke's house, Nicasia is almost cordial to her, despite her acidity. I'd like to see them in a friendly relationship, perhaps with some provocation. Anyway, although I hate Nicasia (did I say that already?), at the end of tqn we see how much she really loves Cardan, romantically or not. I hope we get some answers in the next book.

I recently read the lost sisters after legit months since htkoelths let me tell you it has made me want CARDANS VERSION EVEN MORE.
Moral of the story in my own mind the pov is like this Jude=selfless, Taryn=self love, and Cardan=self worth.
jude/taryns piggy back off of eachother bc whereas Taryn tried to manipulate the game or social structure so she can fit in; jude isn’t worried about fitting in she just wanted respect amoung her peers and changed the game completely. They both wanted a place in their community or world and not be looked down upon. Cardan version would not only be pivotal in knowing the entire scope of love he has for jude but see how he legit is the game! He is the prince but yet he couldn’t count on his friends, he didn’t really have family, and he admitted In not so many word that he was jealous of jude bc madoc loved her when she isn’t even technically his. And that type of isolation he felt and the moment anyone gave him attention (where it be positive or negative) he latched on to it but then throughout the books grew up and matured and finally became part of a community/family and is like hey I have someone who I love and she loves me back🤯
Taryn I still don’t like her don’t get me wrong I can see from her point of view she was like this is the only way but no matter what her sister never crossed her mind, she didn’t feel bad, she didn’t feel remorse, she only did bc she got caught. Taryn is for tayrn she loves herself to much to be anything else (again wheather it’s positive or negative) I got the vibe that she envied jude just a little bit just cuz jude didn’t care for the social aspect of it when taryn did. when jude constantly sheilded and tried to protect her siblings- hello she didn’t even mention that Locke tried to kill her for fun for her sister cuz she didn’t wanna ruin anything for taryn.
And I know a lot of you are pro-taryn after reading her book but really it just proved that taryn loved herself, her sense of importance is insane like how? When she didn’t do anything worthy to attain that title. And it also goes to show how oriana and madoc raised them, they really are the product of their environment. Jude took after madoc and Taryn took after oriana. Oak takes more after all of them especially jude/cardan or at least his ideas (again that might be my own self conscious wanting jurdan babies and living vicariously through oak)
I don’t necessarily hate taryn but really it’s hard to like her. As someone who has a sibling I just couldn’t fathom being ok with anything happening to my sister(irl brother) let alone plot/ mastermind a whole ass plan that might hurt her physically, emotionally, or mentally. (Side note I really hate Balkian and Valerian)

My unhinged reactions to the chaotic ride that is The Folk of the Air series ((first two books only bc I'm only 30% through The Queen of Nothing soooo ---- no spoilers plsss))
The Cruel Prince Worst Betrayals:
TARYN - MA'AM!!?????!??? You knewww?? you knew Locke was playing both of y'all??? and you weren't even ensorcelled or whatever?!?!? GIRL?! "if you let me seduce your sister in front of you and keep your mouth shut it proves that I love you" I'M sorry?!?!!??? I absolutely cannot. Someone will need to give me some serious break down of why tf I shouldn't jump in there and smack the bitch myself for being so stupid and betraying her sister like that smh ((more on this bs later bc i've made it far enough through TQON to know things))
JUDE!!!!!!!! - Girl why tf are you gonna do my boy Cardan dirty like that???? He finally TRUSTED YOUR ASS okay?! he is clearly a lil bby who has never had a hug and never felt loved and is v much into you so maybe you should be NICE TO HIM (or mean bc hes into that obvs) but like -- you put the damn crown on his head when he SPECIFICALLY ASKED YOU NOT TO?!??????? oof
The Wicked King:
I sat there really trying to figure out who tf betrayed Jude already when Nicasia's jealous ass said that and like I knew it was not my boy Cardan bc he has never done anything wrong in his entire life and he has a plan and reasons and you can't tell me any different okay!? someone ((JUDE)) just hug the damn boy and pat his lil head and tell him everything is gonna be okay pls?? and I knew that boy Locke and stupid idiot Traitor Taryn were sus. Obvs Madoc is a dumb murder bitch so like?? DUH he was gonna do something stupid since you know, he already fucking committed treason. I just sat there from page one waiting for those three to pull some stupid shit to betray Jude and OBVS I WAS RIGHT ! those stupid idiot dumb dumbs can't help themselves but betray Jude! hate them allllllll hate hate hate
but the scream i screamed when the Ghost of all damn people - (me picturing him as some kinda cute lil spy cutie) - called for Jude in that tower and was like "naaaahhh I worked for Dain bitch, not your ass" I'm???? sorrryyy??? betray ME?! the READER OF THIS BOOK?!??! excuse you!
but also the way Cardan was like "tell me you hate me" and "i want to tell you so many lies" and "i'm a sad lil bby and nobody has ever cared about me" and "i trusted you" and "marry me" and "crawl to me" crawl to meee????? sir. and he sent her ass to the mortal world but did not deny her and did not revoke their marriage so likeeee??? jude girly use your damn brain okay babes i know its in there somewhere so pls just get back to your 4D chess game you had in book 1 and realize this man loves you and is trying to PROTECT YOU OKAY ugh!!!!!
Currently reading The Queen of Nothing so like.... doing my damn best to fly through this book so I can finally look at fanart and fandom shit okay? gh

⠂⠄⠄⠂⠁⠁⠂⠄⠄⠂⠁⠁⠂⠄⠄⠂⠁⠁⠂⠄⠄⠂⠁⠁⠂⠄☆
“She’s just playing the part, Cardan,” the Roach tells me, patting my shoulder. “And you should remember this was your idea.”
I guess it actually was my idea to gain the favor of a faraway powerful someone that Jude told me would make a great ally. And I guess it was also my idea that we did this through my wife’s charm. So he is somewhat right…
“Oh, shut up. I can’t hear what they’re saying,” it's what I answer, though.
The Roach's chuckle becomes a distant sound as I walk closer to my wife and the idiot that now happens to be touching her arm. Caressing it up and down. Each time closer to her shoulder, then to her jaw and neck and collarbone and-
“Harold,” I greet, making him look up at me. Jude turns to me as well, one arm still linked with his.
And though she notices my fixated glare there, she doesn’t give away any reaction other than a charming smile.
Harold, however, seems smarter, and moves his arm from hers. Good.
“King Cardan,” he says with shaky voice. I grin wide.
“High King Cardan, if you may.”
“Cardan!” Jude barks, clearly irritated. When I meet her glare in silence, she angrily takes my hand and leads me through the ballroom, totally dismissing stupid little Harold.
“What are you doing?! I almost had him,” she says as we walk.
I stop in my tracks, making her too. “You almost had him,” I repeat. “And what exactly does that mean, lovely wife?”
Jude regards me for a moment, frowning. And when she speaks again, her voice is soft, as if she had understood where my mind had gone: “You know what I mean with that.”
“I thought I knew, but that was before you two got so handsy with each other,” I replied. “Then, I wasn’t exactly sure if a political alliance was what you really wanted from him.”
“Cardan,” she breathes, calm and understanding, and inclines her head to the side. No, that won’t work.
“Jude,” I mimic mockingly. Which makes her chuckle softly.
“I did let him get a bit…handsy,” she admits. “Sorry, Cardan. I didn’t think it would bother you, since we both know my intentions with him. But,… I’m sorry.”
Instead of answering, I let a silent moment unfold upon us. Our eyes are the only thing that communicates our understanding with each other.
“Plus, he’s not that handsome,” she says eventually. “Too soldier-like for my liking.”
At that, I can’t help but laugh. “You’re so funny, huh.”
She smiles as she places her hands on my shoulders, starting a dance. “Do you forgive me, Cardan?”
I nod before slowly spinning her.

Jurdan Couple Q+A Headcanons
1. Who is most likely to embarrass the other while drunk?
Cardan (duh). Mf flops all over the place when drunk and Jude becomes the embodiment of smh.
2. Who is most likely to steal most of the covers while asleep?
Probably Cardan again lol. Though he is a romantic at heart and is very caring for the ones he loves, he is also a royal from birth and a high maintenance one at that. Jude, on the other hand, is used to compromising comfort, and she would either wrestle it back or just wiggle under his arm before going back to sleep.
3. Who is most likely to cook dinner in the evening?
They are both terrible cooks. Neither has ever had to worry about it so they just never bothered to learn. In the instances when they are in the mortal world and no one is around to help, they take up the challenge of cooking together but fail miserably before ultimately either another family member comes and helps or they order takeout.
4. Who is most likely to get jealous over something trivial?
C a r d a n. He is possessive and isn’t afraid to show it.
5. Who is most likely to leave clothes all over their bedroom floor?
Definitely Jude. While Cardan is extremely cleanly, she is always so busy that picking up after herself is the last thing on her list. However, she has been working on changing the habit ever since her and Cardan got together (she feels bad when he does it before her even though he has reassured her multiple times that he doesn’t really mind).
6. Who is most likely to say sorry first?
I feel like they can both let their pride get the best of them but once they have had some time to think after a disagreement, Jude would verbally say ‘i’m sorry’ first, but Cardan would be the first to approach her because he doesn’t like being apart for too long.
7. Who is most likely to make the other partake in their hobbies?
As many know, the High King is an avid reader. He particularly loves romance novels and Jude reads them with him because he always lights up when they talk about them together.

**Cardan at the mall**
The High King’s little trip to the mortal realm to find Jude had lasted longer than expected. The High Queen had chosen to show Cardan what life was like there before returning to Elfhame, and as reluctant as Cardan was, he obeyed his wife.
They wound up at the mall, one of the only malls even still open near Jude’s old town, and Cardan was amazed. It wasn’t just a building full of stores which he had originally assumed it would be, but it was filled with color and life. Groups of teenagers and even younger adults were messing around with each other, walking around or shopping together. People walked by wearing styles Cardan didn’t expect to love. It was full of life, and Cardan’s eyes were practically glowing with amazement.
The High King wasn’t exactly out of style himself, wearing a long sleeved black cropped top with the back cut out. Lace was cross crossed down the cut out part, and his sleeves were a lacy mesh pattern. He wore black skinny jeans with the knees ripped, and some black combat boots. Jude had also given him a thin black choker with a crystal dangling from it, and his hair was pulled back into the smallest ponytail.
A lot of people walked by, staring at him as if he was their soulmate, and it made Jude jealous. She almost thought he was using his glamour, but she knew he wouldn’t risk that. Cardan was just naturally gorgeous. He seemed to notice his Queen’s jealousy though, and simply wrapped an arm around her waist as they walked. Jude relaxed in his hold, a smile forming as she led him through the mall.
My first time writing a Jurdan oneshot, and I couldn’t really think of much but I really wanted to put out something so if this is shitty I’m sorry😭

The Cruel Prince - Revelry
a/n; im not gonna lie and say this isn’t based on cardan greenbrair. swear to god you read one book and shit like this happens.
no I'm going back on it now, this is 100% about cardan. please someone give us more cardan content, I'm frothing at the mouth i tell you.
word count; 1594
warnings; asshole men, dom-ish reader, little slight bit of Jude/Reader, gaslight gatekeep girlboss, suggestive content, asshole reader, gn reader, pining obviously
It started with a revel, as nearly all things in Faerie start. The mood was high, there was wine being passed around like candy and small delicacies graced everyone's mouth. For people looking in it was the most magical sight to behold. The cries of blissed-out folk echoed around the hall, gems of all different colours glimmered like stars in the sky.
It was almost like a dream come true...
until I spotted the two non-folk's making their way to the dining table draped in rosemary and basil. An unsettled feeling rested in my stomach, wherever the two of them went trouble followed. I shook my head and tried to let my mind leave their presence but it wasn't quite working.
I was just like the rest of them, or at least I had been to those two. I was a folk, I was an asshole and I definitely didn't particularly care about them. That was until they reminded me of the birds at my parent's estate that would always get fed last as their legs were crippled.
Taryn and Jude were like those birds to me, weak and helpless and always last no matter what. So I decided one day to not glare at them so much, to not whisper under my breath or to entertain the Prince's circle when they tormented the girls.
"Y/n, it feels like it's been ages since we saw you." My head turned from my pondering towards the voice. In front of me, dressed in clothes as grand as the rest of us folk, were the two twins I was just thinking about.
If there was one thing about the two of them that was so suffocatingly unique it was the fact that they were twins, two nearly identical people.
"Having a good time?" I asked them, looking down at my chalice of wine, the green liquid stared right back as if asking me 'why are you still standoffish to them if you technically like them?'
"As good of a time as any." Jude, in her usual scowl, answered me as she took a bite of the green apple in her hands. I watched as the two of them passed the treat to the other, back and forth. At that moment it felt as if nothing could ever tear them apart. I hadn't had the chance to discover someone who made me feel the same way.
It made me a little jealous. Folk relationships were hardly ever like the love mortals had to give. A transaction was all that it was, hardly did anyone find someone who truly loved them. I would be no exception, especially as my family had their eyes set on the varying circles of the royal siblings. Doomed to be with someone viler, older or more dismissive. Such was life.
I heard the bird chatter coming from beside me, gossip that I likely had no interest in. Though I managed to shush them as the Prince and his friends drew closer.
The royal family was beloved, idolised and feared. Even so I knelt like everyone else and bowed my head in respect. In the background, I could hear the revelry continue onwards as they passed by.
Shined boots, encrusted gems, taut buckles.
"Hah, did you think you could blend in? So plain, baseless, a horrific sight really." I could also see what had to be Valerian's boots stopped in front of Jude. I just knew he was doing something unnecessary. Before much else could happen Jude's head was thrown and twisted to the side as my shoulder was roughly grabbed.
I jerked a little but came up without much hassle. Valerian's eyes bore into me as his face was spread with a grimace.
"And you, spending your time around such filth. Your parents wouldn't approve would they?" His words were harsh, his tone perhaps harsher but his tirade didn't last for much longer as Prince Cardan's voice cut through the tension between the two of us.
"Valarian, give in." We both looked over to him, myself taking in the glower that Prince Cardan had. His eyes seemed to put me under some sort of trance, one I pulled myself from quickly. Valarian dropped his hand from my shoulder and went to crowd behind him as the group continued to make their way through the other folk.
However, they stopped a few paces from us, right in front of a small moth boy who had not bowed to Cardan as he passed. I could see in frightening clarity as Cardan's jaw clenched, his hands as well. In a matter of moments, his fist was planted right in the middle of the boy's face. The much smaller boy went flying as Cardan's hand reached out once more.
My mouth pulled into a pained grimace as I watched Cardan tear the boy's wing in half, as if it were nothing but stray paper in the air. The boy ended up on the ground as Cardan's tense face briefly scanned the area around him. Our eyes met for a moment, his onyx ones to mine. They looked as if they were alight, the almost unnoticeable ring of gold around his pupil made it look as if they were.
Then he was gone, lost in the crowd of resuming partiers. I let out a breath of air, imagining that the boy's wings could've easily been mine if I had made a misstep. It was in the past though and if no one was going to comment on it more, which they wouldn't, then neither would I.
Jude's hand rested on the crook of my elbow, hesitantly but somehow strictly as if she was prepared for me to throw her off. I looked at her and noticed for the first time how soft her eyes looked under the light, was she worried or just unnerved?
"I think I'll get some air. You might not have to party too much but it's expected of me." And just like that a certain bitterness came over her. If this were any other situation maybe we might've gotten along better.
I left the two of them to their machinations as I waltzed and swung around the cluttered room. A few of my movements were shared with strangers as I gave in and let them wisp me into their dance ring but eventually I made it out into the clearer air.
The beginning chills of the night washed over me like a well-intentioned blanket, letting me breathe in something that wouldn't make me feel as if I were drifting in the skies. I let my eyes close as I tipped the last of my wine into my mouth, letting the tart taste sit on my tongue before I swallowed.
"Too much for you? I should've expected as much." My eyes opened belatedly as I realised who was in front of me. Cardan looked down, his face all sharp edges and darkened angles. I cocked my head in a small resemblance of a bow as I looked for somewhere to sit my chalice down.
"Not particularly my prince, I'm just making sure I can dance all night. As should be." I murmured, he hadn't particularly approached me often. He had no reason to. If he hated Jude and Taryn he only vaguely disliked me.
"Aren't you ever the boring one. Are you not ashamed that you're the weakest in our class besides those bumbling fools." There was a sneer on his face, though it did nothing to make me hate him any more. Cardan was... like poison. Bad for you but also somehow magnetic, just one sip would be enough to quell someone's thirst and yet they may as well be dead.
"It's not my intention." The conversation was going nowhere, in fact, I had no idea why he had even approached me at all. He was likely looking for a fight, to sink his fingers into someone weaker than him.
I tried to move past him, as long as I got back into the revelry I might be hidden from his nitpicking sight. However, he stopped me, grabbing my arms and drawing me right back to being in front of him. My hand feigned to drop the chalice but I managed to catch it just in time.
I was sure that confusion was spilled across my face now but it seemed to deter him no less. For a few moments we simply stood in the company of each other, his hands present and tight on my arms. I drew in a breath, my chest just barely brushing against his. As his eyes dipped down to rationalise the fleeting touch he had felt I brought my hand up to his cheek.
While he looked steely there was a softness to him. My fingers sunk into his skin deliciously, as if they were made to be there.
"I must excuse myself my prince. The night calls." I gave him a placating smile and tore myself from his grasp, finding my way into the fray of folk moving back and forth like a wave. For the rest of the night I was under the impression that I had left him behind.
Though as I left I could've sworn I had seen his feathered suit coat out of the corner of my eye.

So I just finished reading The Prisoners Throne Excerpt
*sharp inhale* *screams into the void*
AND I HAVE THOUGHTS PEOPLE!!!
First of all WHAT DID CARDAN DO!?!?!?!??! SERIOUSLY WHAT HAPPENED THAT WAS SO BAD THAT OAK THINKS THAT CARDAN WOULD ACTIVELY TRY TO KILL HIM!?!?! They were cool the last time we saw the so WTF!?!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Seriously this part got me so curious I won't be able to stop thinking about it for the next 3 months! Oak has so much hot family drama to spill!!
But moving on from that.
I love how we're finally exploring Oak's charming ability and how he starts doubting it himself if he really did subconsciously use them with Wren
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
And we got so many moments of Oak recalling his training with the court of shadows. He considers them all his friends and recalls those memories so fondly it was so sweet (he sounded more comfortable with them than when he recalled anything about Jude let alone Cardan apparently). That whole convo with the Ghost was especially adorable:
The Ghost/Garrett: How are your skills with the blade?
Oak: I'm eleven???
Also can we please talk about jealous Oak please! Like my boy, out of all the times and occasions! He's so desperate it's hilarious
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Still in the OakWren train, this boy is so down bad it's pathetic. The way he waits for her even if it's just to command or scorn him, simply because he wishes to see her. Regretting every single thing he hid from and feeling like shit because he can't even apologise since she doesn't come see him. BRUTALLY ANNIHILATING that mechanical snake since it could have been going to poison Wren. Pleading to postpone his rescue just so he could talk to her.
Favorite part was when he recalled Wren's betrayed face after she found out the truth and going "Damn yeah I really do deserve to be in here locked up, still need to escape tho, but I deserve this."
Oh Greenbriar men, you and your love for evil women who you accidentally betrayed and kept you imprisoned. Alexa play Loverboy.
Loved that this entire paragraph (besides Cardan's vendetta against Oak WHICH IS KILLING ME) was just Oak going
Oak: Angry vengeful Jude? Yikes. Angry vengeful Wren? Yikes. Angry vengeful Jude and Wren against each other? We're doomed
Tumblr media
And finally we at least now know where the ring from the cover came from!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Holly Black did say that an important element in the cover is how the ring is frozen in the brances, unmoving. I wonder if it's some kind of symbolism about Oak's inability to leave Weren, how he is trapped by her not only physically by the briddle, but emotionally too? That would be so cool
Tho this first chapter sneek peak gave me more questions than answers, I really enjoyed getting a feel of what the book would be like from Oak's pov (regretting, simping, scheeming and a whole lot of Keeping Up with the Greenbriar/Duartes). God I can't wait 3 more months I need this book in my hands now!!!

Powerless - ★★★☆☆ (SPOILERS)
Rating - 3.25
Overview - Set in a world where the magic system allows for a variety of powers, the story follows a human girl Paedyn. Although Paedyn is able to pretend having psychic powers, she is in truth powerless and displays no magical qualities. Paedyn has lost her family and spent years living in the city's slums where she has become a thief to make a living. Through a run in with a crown prince and saving him from a fight, Paedyn gets selected to take part in that year's tournament where she goes against others who have strong magical abilities.
Tumblr media
Plot - The world itself is quite interesting and reminded me of Sanderson's Mistborn - we get quite an extensive list of powers that are available and some of these are considered more elite than others. The plot itself moves along quite quickly and did not drag, although I found some of the worldbuilding lacking logic and a clear explanation.
Even though quick paced, the plot did feel like a rehash of some popular books in the genre - the tournament felt awfully close to Hunger Games, especially with its set up of the tournament contestants being a mix between those who joined it willingly and those who were plucked against their will. I never truly understand the purpose and the goal of the tournament and felt like Roberts should have spent more time explaining what the costentants were ultimately fighting for.
Otherwise the plot is driven a lot by the enemies to lover romance between Paedyn and the crown prince Kai. It was a slow burn, and a partially attempted love triangle with Kai's brother thrown in the mix. Now, I do love a good enemies to lovers trope just as much as any other romantasy girlie, but this did often feel like a library of tropes. At times I felt like the plot was moving in a certain direction just so that Roberts could use some of the most famous tropes, some of those being: - Knife to throat - Jealous love interest gets drunk - Who did this to you? - Love interest is injured and is tended to - Training scene gets saucy - Stay with me this night (but nothing really happens)
Characters - Paedyn was a pretty solid FMC in this context, although I found her love for her friend from the slums to be unbelievable - for all of Paedyn's claiming of how she lover her friend, she seemed to remember her barely... ever. Some of the finale of the book therefore felt a lot less emotionally impactful to me.
Kai is an attempted morally grey MMC, but to me his ''grey'' part was settled too quickly and I never believed him to be a villain. I think this was an attemped Rhys (ACOTAR) / Cardan (Cruel Prince) / Jacks (Once Upon a Broken Heart), but the attempt fell flat to me.
Some of the background characters seem to have little explanation for their darker ways and felt quite one dimensional, especially the main female ''villain'' who seemed to hold a lot of grudges that I felt were never really explained.
What I liked most - Even with its overuse of romantasy tropes, I enjoyed the banter and interactions between Paedyn and Kai and enjoyed scenes with them on the page the most. It was a fun palette cleanser between some heavier reads. The twist at the end provides for a good setup for a sequel and I am going to read it to see where the story progresses.
What I hated most - The overuse of tropes and scenes that were more than just inspired by other series but rather rewrites of them. The writing could also use some improvements and felt quite juvenile at points. Would love to see more solid worldbuilding and less one dimensional characters in the future instalment.

Casually slides down your chimney
Your secret santa has returned!! Thank you so much for those answers to the would rather game! I'm notoriously bad at them, too, so I'm happy with the rambling, especially becuase if gave me a chance to learn more about you!
Honestly I think we had the exact same answers for the bonus questions! I'm a hardback fan all the way 🥰 And my go to in the morning is a coffee, but I love nothing more than my afternoon english breakfast with a bit of milk and honey. I think I need to try that masala chai wiith cardamom and sugar though, that's sound delicious!! And Team Rosalie is a perfect answer 🤌
When it comes to your gift, what I'm hearing from your answers is that you'd like a smutty multichapter feysand fic that's set in canon driven and driven by romance with LOTS of angst 👀 hehehe that sounds delicious and I think I already have an idea brewing in this ole Cauldron.
My questions for you now are...
What are your favorite romance tropes?
What are your top 5 favorite Feysand moments?
If you could change anything about the acotar series, what would it be?
What's your favorite song(s) at the moment? Which ones remind you most of Feysand?
Hello!!!! You have returned!!!! And this time I can answer before going to work lmao! edit: no actually I wrote for so long that I had to go to work before I finished and am posting this on my break 😂
And same answers?!?!?!! ITS FATE! And I'm so glad to know another English Breakfast lover!!! Truly a wonderful tea😌 also all the talk of masala chai made me crave some enough to go make a pot! I have had smh a fresh mug next to me and I didn't add too much sugar this time! and i have more dishes added to the never-vanishing pile but I have cleaned up the spills on the counter its f i n e
One thing about me is that I have a favorite pot that I always use for hot drinks and soups because it's the only one without a lip and so also the only one where I can consistently pour from it and not spill what I've just made.... but that one was already dirty :/
Also the gift already sounds so beautiful! Perfect 💯 10/10 I am READY to bawl my eyes out! (have you noticed yet I use... a LOT of exclamation marks?😅)
and for the questions!
Favorite Romance tropes? ooooh thats a tough one because a lot depend on the genre! If I'm reading fantasy then enemies-to-lovers is amazing, but especially so if it's one-sided! Like Jude and Cardan - he was in love with her and she hated his guts so much she thought he must hate her in return! Or Feysand in the first book, now that I think about it lmao. Other favorites include classics such as only one bed (or horse if its a road-trip romance), soulmates/fated mates, forced proximity, and hidden identity! If its more contemporary though, I lean toward fake dating, rivals-to-lovers (technically a branch on enemies to lovers but eh), and mutual pining/idiots-to-lovers. One trope though that i don't really like??? Is actually the love triangle. Because I WILL start shipping all three of them together rather than choose. (Or the back-and-forth starts to annoy me. Depends on how it's being written.) speaking of that if you like sci-fi books i would recommend Iron Widow by Xiran Jay Zhao, that's got a canon polyamorous relationship!
Favorite Feysand moments - Calanmai obviously, that scene is iconic for a reason and i get emotional if I think about it too long while remembering chapter 54, there you are. I've been looking for you I also adore Feyre throwing her shoe at Rhys after he dares her to do it again, Feyre taunting Rhys while in the Summer Court only to immediately get jealous that he does the same thing, both CoN scenes, and the scene with the bone carver when feyre admits she would have turned the knife on herself and Rhys is devastated by it. what can I say I love angst hahaha😂
Honestly I don't like that Rhys twists Feyre's arm for the bargain. Like... dude. I know you were playing a part but really? Also i wish nesta was a carynthian - the writer in me understands that her character development and journey needed for her to stand her ground instead of reaching the summit, and arc-wise it was a fufilling end, but the valkyrie lover in me is like... why couldn't nesta reach the top too? also cassian not saying ily to nes in her book?????😡🤬 do better cass.
Favorite songs at the moment are "So Hot that it Hurts" and "Conversations with the Dashboard" by Voilà (they are so underrated I need more people to listen to them), "Electric Touch," "You're On Your Own, Kid," "Castles Crumbling," "Willow," "Ivy," "Dress," and "New Year's Day" by Taylor, "Last of the Real Ones" by FOB, and "Da Selby" Parts 1 and 2 by Hozier. Feysand wise is probably New Years Day (I did title my amnesia fic with this song so I kinda have to pick it lol 😂 ) and Dress (but dress is also perfect for Emorie so👀). Voilà also has a perfect feysand song with "Figure You Out" - it just screams rhys to me in the beginning of acomaf saying "Really? Tamlin? You picked Tamlin? He gave you red paint and thought it would make you happy and you still think he’s the man for you?” Also "Hurt for Me," "Where's My Love," and "Better" by SYML destroyed me with the Feysand feels to the point that I immediately added them to my playlist! 😭
I think that’s it, what songs do you like though??? I’m always looking for new music 😅
Make sure you’re drinking enough water and getting sleep!!! 🥰 See you next time!!!!!! byeeeeeee!!! 👋🏼

Cardan Greebriar x reader.
she is not particularly human, but rather has a slight faerie descent. Her first friend was Locke, and from a young age she was romantically involved with Cardan starting as an innocent love until they were both about 17. And then there's the Locke/Nicasia conflict, where she sides with Locke because, well, she trusts him, and Cardan in Nicasia. Since that event, Cardan starts to tease and annoy her with a lovers-enemies-lovers theme.
Yeah!! My first Cardan request 🥰 sorry this took a while. I changed it up a bit for the fic, hope you enjoy 😊
Possession
Pairings: Cardan Greenbrier x f!reader
Warnings: Smut 18 +, unprotected sex (not explicit), kind of enemies to lovers, Cardan using his tail, jealousy, slight bullying/taunting of Jude, smidge of angst, fluff.
A/N: I saw a post from @deepdive-with-aurelius about Cardan using his tail to wrap around your leg when he’s jealous and I ran with it 🥰 also my requests are closed but I’m willing to take some for Cardan 😉
Comments and reblogs really appreciated 🥰

You hated these things. His parties. The ones he’s famous for. The room is always filled with loud music and debauchery and even though you were half Fae, you would much rather be doing something else. Anything else, but Locke always insists you come. Locke, your best friend is currently busy with Taryn.
You’ve become rather suspicious of the amount of time he spends with her but you don’t question it. He’s one of your closest friends and he’s had your back on many occasions, so you don’t pry. You choose instead to sit with Jude, one of the few people you consider a friend. When she first came to elfhame, you both bonded immediately - she was human and you a half breed, at least that’s what Cardan calls you.
“I’m surprised to see you here, Jude. I thought you were skipping tonight’s festivities?” She turns to you with a scowl on her face, “Madoc insisted. We need to show our solidarity with the Greenbrier line. Or something along those lines. I rarely pay attention. Trust me, I’d much rather be at home with Vivi.” You can’t help the way your lips twitch at the corner at her attitude.
“We’re not all that bad,” you say, nudging her shoulder a little. “You, Y/N are more human than Fae despite your pointed ears.” You both laugh. “I’ll take that as a compliment then.”
A quietness falls over you both and you take the moment to let your eyes flicker through the crowd. A tingle works its way up your spine and you know his eyes are on you. You try not to look at him but it’s impossible - because no matter how much you hate him, you love him just as much.
Your eyes meet and his steely gaze is unwavering as he takes you in. Nicasia is draped over his lap laughing and you can’t help but roll your eyes - something you know he saw with the way the corner of his mouth curves into a smile. You stand abruptly and pull Jude by the arm.
“Come on, let's dance.” She groans loudly but doesn’t put up a fight as she lets you drag her into the crowd. You both dance wildly to the rhythm and soon enough, you get lost in the music.
***
Your eyes are closed and a slight breeze dances over your flushed skin as you sway to the music. Something tickles your leg and startles you, halting you in your tracks. Suddenly you’re being pulled by the leg and you crash into something solid and warm.
Your eyes are wide and your heart beats frantically within your chest as you meet his gaze again. His arms wrap around you, steadying you while his tail - which had wound its way around your leg - slid up under your dress. “Cardan.” You gasp. “What are you doing?”
A sly smile spreads across his handsome face and his eyes search yours - for what you're not sure but right now, you couldn’t care less. His tail has stopped and is wrapped around your thigh and the feel of it sends a shiver through you.
“What? You don’t like the feeling of me wrapped around you, half-breed.” You scowl at his pet name for you as anger begins to bubble under your skin. “You know I don’t like when you call me that.”
“I’ll call you whatever I want. I’m the Prince.” His face lowers slightly, his lips almost grazing your ear, “I'm your Prince.”
Stop! Leave her alone. A commotion breaks you out of the moment and you turn to find Nacasia pulling Jude’s braid from her hair. You’ll never be one of us, so stop trying. You try to pull away but Cardan's hold on you only tightens.
Jude begins to fight back but a crowd has gathered now and Valerian and Poesy are taunting her. You need to help your friend. You try pulling away from him again but he won’t let you go. His gaze is focused solely on you as you turn to face him.
“Please, Cardan. I have to help her.” Your hand comes to rest on his chest as you plead with him and his eyes flicker to the movement. You can see something shift behind his eyes and then his eyes meet yours again. You don’t know why you're bothering, he isn’t the same Cardan you grew up with or fell in love with all those years ago. He’s cruel now.
“Enough!” He shouts out, his gaze never leaving your face and the taunting and shouting quiets down. “Oh come on Cardan, I was only having a little fun.”
He turns to Nicasia now, his eyes glowering at her. “I said enough. Leave the mortal alone.” Nicasia lets go of Jude’s hair and she stands quickly, her knuckles meeting her jaw. “Don’t ever touch me again.”
Jude fixes herself before running off through the crowd. The music begins to play again and Valerian helps Nicasia take a seat - her face contorted into a scowl and her gaze fixed on you. The warmth from Cardan's hand seeps into your skin and you feel yourself being pulled closer. His body is flush with yours and you finally look back up at him.
“Thank you.” His tail begins to move again; slowly inching higher until it…oh. “Cardan what…” His lips twitch as he leans in and you think he’s about to kiss you - do I want him to kiss me - but he turns and whispers into your ear. “Run along now half breed, better check on your mortal pet.”
He laughs. A cruel laugh as he pulls his tail away and marches over to his friends. He’s never going to change. Your eyes scan the crowd for Locke and you quickly find him, face molded to Taryn. Of course. I need to check on Jude.
***
The week that follows is somewhat uneventful and it seems that Cardan has had words with Nicasia because she hasn’t said boo to Jude since the party.
Jude’s been focusing on her training which means that with Locke now otherwise occupied, you spend most of your evenings in your own company. Or with Vivi - when she isn’t sneaking off to the human world. Tonight is one of those nights and she has suggested a swim in the lake.
You love the lake. The water is cool on your skin but not too cold and the way the stars and moon reflect off the water makes it feel magical. Which it is you suppose, given where you are.
“I heard about the party last week. Jude said you got Cardan to stop Nicasia. Thank you. She’s very entitled, that one, just because her mother rules the sea.”
“Yeah, she’s something alright. Cardan seems entranced by her..” Vivi snorts and you turn to her, a smile on your face. “What’s with the snort?”
“He’s not entranced by her, honestly I don’t think he’s ever been if you ask me. You on the other hand..” You roll your eyes as you begin to strip out of your clothes. Slowly moving into the water, you completely submerge yourself before coming up beside Vivi.
“Don’t roll your eyes at me. I’m right, you know. Our prince of elfhame is besotted by you. Do you think he would have stopped them torturing Jude for just anybody? No, he wouldn’t.”
You’re unconvinced but don’t want to argue with her so you just swim. Time passes and you continue to swim when you feel something on your leg. You twist your head trying to spot Vivi, “oh so we’re doing that now are we,” you shout out with a laugh.
“Doing what?” You freeze. Whatever is touching you, sliding up your leg - is not Vivi, and you scream out until a hand covers your mouth. “I don’t think I’m that scary,” his voice whispers into your ear. His breath is hot on your skin and you can feel him behind you.
The hand he has resting on your hip slides across your waist pulling you into him. His head rests in the crook of your neck. “Hey, I heard you scream are you…oh, it’s you. Why am I not surprised? Right, well I’ll leave you two to it.” Her eyes flicker to Cardan and a small smile creeps onto her face as she turns and swims off.
“Alone at last,” he purrs into your neck before turning you in his arms and pinning you against the rocks. Your heart beats hard against your chest and you’re afraid he’ll feel it with how close he is. You don’t want him to know how much he’s affecting you.
His tail swirls about until it begins moving up your bare leg, winding its way up like a vine. He looks at you, his eyes hooded and a smirk on his face. Why does he have to be so handsome? His hair is damp and water droplets run down his cheek.
“Cardan, what are you doing? I thought you didn’t want…” His finger rests on your lip, silencing you. “You are ruining the mood, half-breed.” You growl as you place your hand on his chest and push him off.
“Oh, what’s wrong? You don’t like me calling you that?” You try to swim away but he grabs your wrist and pulls you back to him. “You know I hate it when you call me that. Why don’t you run back to Nicasia? Maybe she can…” His lips crash onto yours and although you hate him at this moment you can’t help but melt into his touch.
His arms, along with his tail wrap around your waist as he moves you against the rocks again. Your hands find purchase in his disheveled hair and he groans into your mouth. His hands skim along your waist down towards your ass and he squeezes your cheek tight before moving your leg over his hip, lining himself up and sliding in.
You gasp out at the slight stretch and he swallows your moans with his mouth. It’s slow and sensual and with each thrust of his hips, he hits that sweet spot over and over again until you cry out into the night. You're both panting as you calm down from your highs and he holds your cheek gently in his palm.
“Kiss me Y/N, kiss me until I’m sick of it.” You do and you don’t care that your relationship isn’t what it used to be or that he chose to side with Nicasia; all you care about is the feel of him right here, right now.
***
The following evening you sit on the grass with Jude as you listen to Noggle prattle on with his lesson; your mind swirling with the memories of the night before and how Cardan touched you and made you…
“Earth to Y/N,” Jude says, waving her hand in your face. “Hmm, sorry what did you say.” She shakes her head, the corners of her mouth curving into a smile. “Never mind.”
Locke had decided to sit with Cardan and his minions today, which was fine, he was still friends with them. You are too, sort of. You just can’t stand Nicasia, or more importantly, you don’t like how she’s always fawning over Cardan.
Speaking of the prince of elfhame, he has completely ignored you since last night and you can’t deny that it hurts. Did he just use me? “Hi Y/N, Jude, can I sit with you?” You turn to see Ghost standing tall beside you, his frame intimidating as he blocks out the evening sun.
“Yeah sure.” He takes a seat beside you and he glances at Jude before he smiles at you. “Shouldn’t you be off doing something important,” Jude says with a hint of irritation in her voice. “Perhaps but I would much rather be here staring at this beautiful creature.” Ghost winks at you and you can’t help the blush that rises to your cheeks.
He continues to flirt with you and he makes you laugh, something which doesn’t go unnoticed by Cardan who is glowering at him. When the lesson is over you go to stand, Ghosts hand wrapping around you pulling you up. “Oh thank you.”
“No problem. Jude, we need to continue training today…” You feel his presence before you see him. The atmosphere changes and Ghost looks to your left, “Cardan.”
“It’s Prince Cardan to you,” he says as he wraps an arm around you pulling you into his side. Ghost's eyes flicker to where you are both joined and a hint of smile twitches at the corner of his mouth. “I was just about to ask Y/N if she would like to join me for dinner,” he says, eyes focused on Cardan.
“Oh…I…” You can feel Cardan's fingers dig into your side and his tail curls around your leg, holding you impossibly closer. “I don’t think so.”
“Well, I wasn’t asking you.” Ghost turns then - a hint of mischief in his eyes - to face you before winking. “Y/N will be having dinner with me, considering she’s mine and all.” Your eyebrow raises at this as you turn towards Cardan with a question behind your eyes.
“Fair enough. She’s all yours. Jude, I’ll see you later.” A growl forces its way out of Cardan's throat as he turns to you. “What was that about? You’ve been ignoring me all day and then last night you…I’m not in the mood for this.” You shove him off and storm away needing to clear your head.
You find yourself back at the lake and you sit on the edge letting out a breath you don’t know you were holding. “How dare you run away from me half breed. You know what I do to those who disobey me.”
Standing abruptly you turn to him, anger flowing off you in waves. “Do it then. Since you hate me so much.” You are right in front of him now, and you can see his nostrils flaring. He moves forward until he is right on top of you. “I do hate you. I hate you because I think of you. Often. It’s disgusting and I can’t stop.”
“What? That makes no sense you…” His lips are on yours and his arm snakes around your waist, holding you tight. Pulling away his thumb caresses your cheek as he stares into your eyes. “You consume my every waking thought. Everywhere I go, I see you, I hear you. The smell of your skin lingers on me and it drives me insane. You said that I chose Nicasia. I didn’t. You chose Locke and I was jealous so I flaunted her in front of you.”
“I didn’t choose…” He growls and you bite into your lower lip. “Enough. I’m done playing these games. You’re mine and I’m yours and I will kill any man or Fae who touches you.”
“Here I was thinking you had become cruel.” He laughs, “oh I am, make no mistake but I will never be cruel to you.”
“I love you Cardan.” He leans in and kisses you softly. “And I, you.”

Okay for context (although I’m sure u probably already know the books by heart at this point bc ur the queen of tfota analysis) this takes place right after Jude stabs Valerian and as Locke is walking up to “save” Jude from Cardan. Before Locke comes over Cardan has a practice sword and points it at Jude noticing Valerian’s blood and is all like you seem to have cut yourself
Okay I’ve always been very confused as to why this was Cardan’s response to Jude
And I’ve been trying to riddle it out and look at context and figure out why exactly he would say that about Locke and Jude when he clearly doesn’t want them to be together (which I say bc of the scene where Nicasia tells Locke that Cardan won’t forgive him for what he is doing with Jude)
but more than that I want to know why Cardan used the word ‘Perfect’ bc… that’s a lie ????? not even Madoc thinks they’re well suited for each other… NEITHER does Jude! she’s tells Locke that they’re both pretending and that they don’t belong together but it’s still fun any way (this was at his manor before the party)
Cardan, for very justifiable reasons, doesn’t like Locke… bc Locke slept with the woman he loved… in Cardan’s bedroom… while being Cardan’s so called friend… nuf said
But we know from HTKOELTHS that Cardan has some form of attraction to Jude at this point (a disgusting attraction in his opinion)
Of course Cardan doesn’t necessarily like Jude at this point he hates her and says as much when she interrogates him (he hates her most of all bc he thinks of her often which is disgusting bc he can’t stop) (but also bc he is jealous that she is loved by her family)
Cardan and Jude are not in good standing with eachother. But he begrudgingly longs for her. Which definitely makes me think for more reasons than what’s explicitly stated in the book that he wouldn’t want her to be with Locke especially after what Locke did with the last woman Cardan was with. Even if Cardan doesn’t like the fact that he wants her, he doesn’t want her to be with him or at least that’s what context seem to imply. Also he shows concern for her on multiple occasions and prevents her from serious harm from his friends and then sends her a dress in secret and scribbles her name Over and over again
So to me the only thing that makes sense would maybe be if he is referring to himself?????
It seemed like Cardan tried to find an excuse to talk her. he has a practice sword with him which he had no reason to have, bc he isn’t one to care for swords and Jude was like he was waiting at the bottom on the tower as soon as she comes down. When he sees her he points it at her (and shows concern) and they have a little banter til Tayrn runs to get Locke
And my stretch of a theory is that if Cardan was thinking of Jude and himself when she said “you don’t think I deserve him”
Since he is tricky with his words when she said ‘him’ it could mean any guy, and if Cardan was on his own mind then when he responded “"Oh no, I think you're perfect for each other.” He could have been referring to him and Jude
… perhaps??? Idk bc even that sounds like a bit of a stretch to me… but less of a stretch than him actually thinking Locke and Jude are perfect for each other
I’m just very stumped on this phrase and I really want to know what your interpretation of the scene is (sorry that I’m incapable of getting to the point ever)
gvskdjsk okay i am LOVING the depth of thought here, and i think you're on the right track, but i'm going to connect two dots for you that might make sense of the situation:
1. just because Cardan thinks they're perfect for each other doesn't mean he wants them to be together. it just means he thinks they would pair nicely. and at this point, i truly think he believes this.
just before the above pictured quote, and after the quote where Cardan says she's cut herself, Jude takes her bloodied knife out of her pocket and says "I could cut you, too". then, in QON (ch. 18) Cardan says to Jude, "But that's what you do. You trick people". two things about Locke are that he is a little bit fucked in the head, and he tricks people.
Cardan doesn't know why Jude's blade is bloody. he doesn't know that she's just been attacked by Valerian, or that she lives every day in fear for her life. he just thinks she's loved by Madoc so she must be safe and well cared for. ergo, Jude pulling a dirty blade, smiling, and then threatening to cut Cardan would certainly seem like fucked in the head behaviour; and she has been known to lie and trick people. he hates both Locke and Jude, so they're perfect for each other.
2. Cardan smiles when he's nervous.

Can u make a one-shot where jurdan is secretly dating in the cruel prince but have to act like they hate each other?? Also the setting is school. Love your fics btw!
Ooo I have never written Jurdan before, so thank you for getting me out of my comfort zone! Tyyy that means a lot 💜 I hope this is a good Jurdan fic for I know writing Jurdan can be hard...
U HAVE BEEN WAITING SO LONG FOR THIS @cardansfae Jude didn’t believe in many things. She never really believed in a higher power, or America's Patriarchal System. But the biggest thing she could not believe was that she had kissed Cardan Greenbriar. If you asked her how it happened, she honestly couldn’t tell you. One moment they were glaring at each other arguing over something she doesn’t even remember anymore, and the next moment they were locked in a passionate kiss, full of want, need, and a bit of anger. But after that kiss, Jude felt only want and confusion. She had hated Cardan Greenbriar all her life, so why was she feeling these things now? Scared for probably the first time in her life, she ran away, not stopping until she reached Madoc’s house. When she got home, Jude was pacing the room, thinking about that kiss, about Cardan, and what the hell she was going to do. She decided to list her thoughts in her head, so she knew what she had to do. Jude was always a more analytical person, and lists helped her manage her busy life. Her list had the following:
Cardan had kissed her
She had kissed Cardan
She liked the kiss
She wanted more
“Ugh!” She said and flopped down on her bed. “Damn you, Cardan Greenbriar.” She muttered, the forest green comforter muffling her words. “Damn who?” Jude whipped her head to Taryn, the thick comforter scratching her face. “I- uh, I said damn you for leaving me when we were supposed to walk home together.” Jude was never one to stutter and was glad for the excuse because indeed Taryn had left her, even though the reason she was late was that she had been kissing Cardan. It was Taryn's turn to stutter, “I- I it's not my fault you took SO long to get there! I was hungry!” Jude laughed at that, and they both giggled, laughing until their stomachs hurt. *~* That had been a week before, and now Jude was dating her nemesis.  And to be honest, this week had been the best fucking one in her existence. She no longer had the dread of seeing Cardan, but honestly excitement. She didn’t know if she hated that or loved it. She loved it But they both knew they had to keep it a secret. If people found out they were together Jude would be targeted, not that she couldn’t handle herself it was just that she did not want to have to deal with that. She was in class now, learning about astronomy and clearly struggling since she lacked faerie eyesight. It was pitch black, and she couldn’t see a thing. After about 30 minutes of struggling to find one constellation when everyone else was on their tenth including Taryn, for Locke had given her some new potion to have faerie sight, she gave up. She wasn’t jealous, for Cardan had also offered one. Jude had denied quickly, for if she had to ingest another potion or poison today, she would 100% pass out. About 10 minutes later, she felt someone shift and move beside her. She tensed, ready to fight, but relaxed when it was only Cardan. She relaxed partly because they were together now, and partly because she knew there would be no trouble with fighting him. Her snooping in the castle and that interaction with the two brothers had shown. She shuddered. “Cold, my sweet Jude?” Cardan spoke, his voice barely a whisper “Yeah, what do you like bathe in ice?” She retorted. Just because she was dating Cardan in secret did not mean that she would be pliant and sweet with him. What she didn’t know was that was one of the Cardan loved her, with a million more things as well. He chuckled, coming closer to her. Even though she had said she was cold, she was lying. He radiated heat, his warmth seeping into her. She refused to move closer, to show that she wanted to lean into him. She didn’t have to show it, for Cardan must have known. He leaned against her, hands around her waist, with his head near her diaphragm. She smiled at the scene. A mortal girl comforting the youngest prince of Elfhame. He snuggled closer as if Jude was a safe haven for him. She didn’t know what to think about that. She had only just started to get along with Cardan. She still was a bit weary, body ready to fight him if what he was doing was just another one of his pranks. It was hard to do this, to be with Cardan while also being scared that this was all fake. That what he was doing would be fake in the end, that all he was doing was joking around. But then Cardan inhaled her scent, snuggled impossibly closer, and godammit the heart Jude thought she never had was swelling with an unnamed emotion, one she hoped she had the time to figure out. ~

i think im finally gonna do it and buy all the cruel prince books bc i just found a box set for like 13 bucks. udk me nor should u care but ur sim of him was the first thing on my dash and i felt compelled to share with the class
I ABSOLUTELY CARE!
a) I love this, omg! Please read it! I had soooo much fun reading those books in February, and I love knowing that other people want to read them. And feel free to come here, anon on or off, and share with the class how you're feeling about it! I love hearing people flail over stuff I once flailed over. 😂 I'm also maybe working on some Folk of the Air fan fics, too...slowlyyyy.
b) that's an awesome price, and I'm jealous, cause all I have are the kindle versions, which def all together cost more than that. 😂 and I really shouldn't buy more books, since my shelves are full so I need a new one. (says the girl who just bought three when she went to some famous LA bookstore last month lol)
c) awww, I'm glad you saw Cardan! I'm lovingggg making these sims, and it helps me learn how to customize more. Cardan I feel good about, but ngl, I'm suuuuuper proud of my Vivi and Heather from the Duarte household. 😄

Perfect | Jurdan
Post QoN smut. Again.
My name is Jude and I am the Queen of Elfhame.
That is an achievement of my own making and not one I was simply born into, and this is a fact I am proud of. By my own skill I have become just as clever, just as quick, and just as wicked as any of them.
And still there are days when I can’t stand them. Any of them.
It makes me so angry, and if I am perfectly honest that is more because I think this is my greatest remaining weakness. That despite the crown I wear and the throne I sit on, the things that I cannot achieve prickle at me like a protruding bone in my corset.
Worst of all of them is Cardan.
For the most part, our marriage delights me. Surprising, for the both of us, but true. The power and the rule, I always knew I wanted, and always knew I was ready to wield. What I did not expect was to rush from the throne room every night, out of breath despite having been seated for the better part of the evening, desperate for Cardan’s hands on me. The fact that he reacts the same way to me makes me delirious.
And yet some days, not often but irritatingly strong, comes the remembrance that even now, there was something not equal about us. Even though there are many hard-won parts of myself that I love, there are some that I can’t help but at best be conscious of and at worst despise.
Today is such a day.
It’s a little thing, really. A stupid and insignificant thing that pushes me over the edge.
A lord from a distant court has come to visit Elfhame and pay his respects to the King and Queen. Nothing unusual; he comes bearing gifts of his land. Baskets of enormous, fat cherries the colour of ox blood for me. Garnets that match the size and shine of them. Garlands of white flowers I have never seen before. And for Cardan, the most beautiful fae girl I have ever seen.
She peeks out at us from long, thick lashes, while her snowy hare-ears fall behind her to her waist. She wears a pearl coloured dress cut to reveal triangles of milky skin around her torso, and the slit up the side shows of legs that go on forever. Her pale, heart-shaped face is dusted with golden freckles, and her large, liquid eyes are wholly black.
“What’s this?” Cardan asks softly.
“For you, my King,” the lord says.
“And what am I to do with her?” Cardan asks. The lord gives a grin that is all teeth.
“What ever you like, my King.”
“I see,” is all Cardan says, and with a wave the lord is escorted out. Cardan sighs, and says to the girl, “I have no need of your services, you may return home or make a living here, I care not.”
The girl blinks several times, opens her mouth, then thinks better of it. She makes a small bow, and then steps back into the crowd.
I sorely wish I could say that is the end of it. That I think of her no more, that I go back to our room and gorge on the mammoth cherries until the juice runs down my chin and my husband licks me clean.
But instead I find myself watching her move through the crowd. Shy at first, but of course fae flock to her and her delicate beauty. I watch her laugh and demure, I watch her shift in her seat so that her dress rides further up and her knee brushes someone else’s. Within the hour she, three male fae and one female have risen and are looking for the darker corners of the hall.
And I remember that it has never, never been that easy for me.
I wonder if any of her lovers know her name. I wonder if her lord had thought Cardan unsatisfied with his notoriously mortal bride. I wonder if Cardan thinks she’s beautiful.
Of course Cardan thinks she’s beautiful, she’s objectively gorgeous. In that fae way, in that ethereal, untouchable, undeniable way. In a way I will never be, and it used to bother me growing up around beautiful creatures until I ruled them. And now it only bothers me on days like today.
“Let’s go,” I say to Cardan, and abruptly stand. Cardan raises an eyebrow, but does not ask questions as he follows my lead. I take us out of the throne room and back to our bedroom, and I can’t help but close the door a little too firmly.
Cardan leans back against the door with his arms folded. I take his hands and pull them away, placing them on my backside instead as I step into his chest and put my mouth on his throat.
The thing I like most about being with Cardan is that he is always ready for me. He doesn’t ever tell me to slow down, or look caught by surprise. And this time, like any time, he just chuckles and lets his head fall back against the door as his hands squeeze my ass and my tongue finds the soft part under his jaw. When I suck against his skin, he moans slightly, and when he hardens against my lower abdomen, satisfaction curls in my belly. Even though he can’t lie, it’s his body I believe more than anything.
Tell me I’m pretty, I want to beg, but I won’t let myself say the words out loud. I feel pathetic for wanting it, and that makes me angry, and the anger bleeds through my teeth where they touch his ear. Cardan growls, and in the next second he’s got a fist tight in my hair so my head is pulled back away from him.
“Sharp tonight, my Queen,” he says, eyes glittering darkly. He walks me back toward the bed, not letting go of his grip on my hair.
“I just thought,” I say, my chin lifted even as my hands pull at the fastenings of his trousers, “that I would remind you who you belong to.” Cardan smirks.
“What, jealous my love?” he says, a sneer twisting his face. I slap him hard, hating the accusation as much as I hate that it is true. Cardan snarls and pushes me back against the bed. I try to sit up but his hand whips out, grabbing a hold of my throat and pushing me back down. His body follows, and then his face is inches from mine and the weight pinning me down is everything that I need.
“You are jealous,” he says and suddenly his face gets so soft. Still, he doesn’t lift his hand from my throat.
In fact he only moves his forefinger to pull down my bottom lip, and then squeezes while his other hand slides up my thigh and pushes my skirts up. He keeps eye contact with me as he takes his cock and runs his hand over it a few times. Looks down at his finger hooked in my mouth, looks back up at my eyes.
“Don’t you know by now that you’re mine,” he says huskily, and then pushes hard inside me.
We both gasp as out hips meet. I’m wet from being choked, and before I have time to reflect on that, Cardan’s kissing me. He releases my throat only to tangle his fingers in mine and trap my hands above my head. I sigh into his mouth, and Cardan moves out and then back into me with a slow roll of his hips that has mine stuttering beneath him.
“Sweet fucking god you feel good Jude,” he moans, and moves again. He’s so slow and deliberate that I feel every inch of him, and already the angry thing in me is being soothed and being replaced by something else. Something wilder, and hungrier. I lift my hips to meet him, getting more skin contact. Cardan groans and licks up the my throat. When he kisses me again, I let his tongue slide against mine for only a minute before I’m biting hard against his lip, and the pain of it has him shuddering. He laughs softly, and then ducks his head to nip at my nipple in retaliation. I give a little yelp, and he moves and bites the other one before it turns into a sucking kiss.
“Do you know how perfect you are?” Cardan murmurs, and his hips speed up while he stares down at me. My eyes slide closed, and I arch my back to get him deeper, since my wrists are still pinned above me and I can’t touch him.
“Not perfect like you,” I say, breathless now. “Not perfect like fae.”
“And all the more beautiful for it,” he says, and now when he kisses my breasts he is not biting but reverent, gentle even as his hips between my legs are landing harder with every stroke.
Finally, Cardan lets my hands go, and I can’t touch enough of him. I reach for his back, his hair, his backside, and finally lace my fingers together behind his neck. He curves one hand around a breast, and the other lifts my ankle to his shoulder as his forehead presses against mine and he moves deeper inside me. His tail tightens almost painfully around my calf.
“It’s you Jude,” he says, breathing heavily now. “You’re the only one who does this to me.” He presses his thumb to my clit as his hips jerk more erratically. “You’re the most.. the most perfect thing I…” the words fall away from his lips as he starts to pound into me in earnest, and my nails dig into the back of his neck as the world begins to dip away from me.
“Tell me,” I gasp, already knowing what he is saying but needing to hear it still. I have a stupid, fickle human heart and I always need to hear it from Cardan. He bites his bottom lip between his teeth as he conjures the coherence to form words.
“The most perfect thing I’ve ever seen,” he says, his eyes unfocused now as pleasure nips at our heels. “The most perfect thing… I’ve ever held in my hands.”
Cardan’s thumb moves in tight circles and the coil low in my belly aches. “Are you mine, Cardan?” I ask him, desperately now.
“Of course,” he pants. “Always yours. Only yours.” And that is the chant that is lifeblood to my veins and the salt in my tears. I blink them away as they come, and Cardan puts his fingers in my mouth and lips to my ear.
“Come for me, pretty villain,” he whispers, and just like that, I do.
I come hard while his cock is still sliding in and out of me, and his hands hold me down and teeth stroke my skin. My moan snags on the tears in my throat, and when I think I am slowing down, Cardan comes too, and it makes his hips punch forward so hard that I’m coming all over again because all I really want is for him to want me this much.

Race for the Crown
Okay so this is going to be a story about my interpretations of Jude and Cardans kids. This is not really about them but they are obviously in it. I will put the list of their kids here just so everyone can get an idea that this is a long project! FYI the last three children are triplets and with them being so young they won’t be involved like the rest but maybe in the future I might write something (a little blurb on them as they are older!
Jurdan Kids:
Ben / Ezren (horns)/ Liriel (Bee wings/controls bees) / Aimon (tail) / Elluin (snake skin patches/forked toungs) / Cohlan (tails and claws) / Lixiss / Finnea (butterfly wings) / Finneus (moth wings) / Echo / Echibod / Echian
words: 3025
The intro basically explains the plot but i will say this: It is about the Greenbrier/Duarte children’s fight to the crown and their struggles, strengths and ambition
I do not typically post fics or stories but I am hoping to start, All questions, feedback, and statements are welcomed
There were twelve children, nine chances, eight competitors, three who cared too much, three who weren’t sure, and one who did not want it all. All fighting for the throne and crown. The current King and Queen grew tired of ruling, and many thought choosing an heir would be no problem with all the children they had and yet, though the numbers where high, problems came with every one of them. The only children who were for sure out of the running were the triplets, the youngest who were barley three. Every child had a story and something keeping them from the crown from the oldest to the youngest and none of them seem to have shown what it takes to have the crown. In the end it was decided that all children must be watched closely and deliberately in order to make the best decision. Oldest to youngest every child fought, unknowingly, for the power of the land.
BEN
Ben’s story was the strangest to the people of the land. Some did not even feel he should be considered for the throne due to him not being blood. Ben was abandoned as a child by his father and the queen took him in secretly, having been friends with the child’s father. She took him in at 7 years old and he instantly loved her more than his own family. She showed him love and kindness, while being firm and fair. She did not have a child of her own, so she was often hesitant to officially call him hers, but after the king heard news of the boy, he was elated to help his wife raise the child. The King gave the boy and the Queen the push to officially create and start their family even if the child was not either of their blood. The Boy grew into a man and a charming one at that. With his birth father being a sorcerer, he was able to perform magic the land had never seen. He treated the other siblings as his own even if some did not see him in the same light. He did his responsibilities with ease and poise.
As he grew into a man and a noble, the land became split when rumors of his crowning came to surface. Half the land saw him as the perfect contender for the role of king. He was good to the people but firm in his beliefs of what is best for the land. He dished out judgement in a way that seemed regal and fair, even when he was sentencing someone to death, there was an air of calm finality around him and his subjects. He stood tall, his sandy gold hair standing out against the dark of his siblings, and his face showed no cruelty, but he looked as if he was made to be a king, instead of an abandoned child taken into a new world. The term golden boy seemed coined just for him.
However, there were others, the countering half of the land that fell into the arms of tradition. Him not being related in blood seemed to create a bigger problem than expected. People felt he couldn’t rule a land he wasn’t born in or born to understand. The cursed his name whenever people even mentioned his status to the throne. These objectors weren’t silent either, they loudly jeered and scorned him with distaste. When his name was called at revelry’s and royal events underneath the cheers and praise were the boo’s and hateful jabs. He took them with a smile. He was approachable and while some saw that as a sign of good fortune for the land others saw it as disrespectful and the acts of a common man instead of a king. For yes there was a no, for every good dead there was a twisted scandal behind. Prince Ben could not breath without someone begging for his fortune and attention or trying to trap him into a wrong word or step. When he started to notice the small seeds of him being king start to get planted by the council he started to panic. He knew many would never accept him as king, and if half the land won’t accept him how was he supposed to rule with a knife at his neck at every turn. He decided to take matters into his own hands the day he found out the whispers were growing into assumptions.
Ben knew he would do whatever is best for the people, but he had to keep himself alive and in the land’s good favors in order to do so. He had to step away from the throne for awhile but in a way that wouldn’t make him look like a cowered or as if he was running away. He prepared for the party that was going on that night with shaking hands. He decided to dress in lavish gold and baby blues, With a swirling patterns of the colors on his vest with a white frilly shirt underneath and breeches to match. He wore golden boots that reached just underneath his knees and a gold cape held to his right side with a lion head brooch that had diamond eyes to match the teeth of its roar. He placed the silver ring of a crown on his head indicating his title of prince. The royal family would wear their weapon of choice to these events as an accessory, but since he relied on magic as his weapon he settled on a pair of gold gloves that had diamonds accentuating his fingertips where his nails would be seen. He made sure his hair stood up above his crown, his signature quieff hairstyle on display, the golden strands slicked up and shining. As he looked at his work in the mirror, he couldn’t help but frown. He liked what he saw he just didn’t like how much he looked a king waiting to accept his crown. He had a split second where he considered changing into something less but voted against it. He had already made himself up he wasn’t going back on that now.
The merriment of the party was in full swing as he entered, his name and horns blaring in his ear upon announcement.
“I present to you” The royal guard announced while giving him a wink, she had once set him up with her daughter and still held hope he would find some interest once again, Ben knew he wouldn’t but smiled at her anyway, “Prince Ben, Oldest of the high queen and king, Prince of the court of Mystics , runner up to the throne” Ben cringed deeply at her last statement, those kinds of titles and statement were only spoken by those who have already pledged their loyalty, and he was sure she would be disappointed once he made his announcement and proposal to his mother and father, the king and queen. He heard whispers and saw glares and adoring eyes. He saw the ears of his siblings raise, their noses twitches and their eyes look at him in accusation. They would disregard him soon enough. He kept his head high and smile easy as he sauntered over to the golden dais that held his family. As he walked, he could feel everyone’s gaze it didn’t matter that he came later than the others. The way he was dressed, the way he walked, and his demeanor all suggested he was on time and that everyone else was just early for his arrival. He stepped up to his mother and kissed her cheek lightly. He turned to his father and gave him a fist bump (which Ben had started doing after one of his visits to the mortal world). He took his spot closest to the throne next to his brother Ezren who did very little to hide the distaste from his curled lip.
“That was quite the introduction” Ben did not even bother to look over to his sister Liriel, she never liked being outdone or outshined and Ben was certain she did not like his name being followed up with ‘runner up’ when it came to the throne. She wanted the choice to be unanimous when it came to who should be crowned and she wanted the unanimous decision to be her. She had always considered Ben beneath her. It did not matter, however. Soon enough she’d be one step closer to the crown. As final announcements and introductions of other courts were finished the king and queen began to greet subjects who felt their problems were big enough to bring to the throne. The princes and princesses began to depart and get lost in the crowd of guests and nobles. Ben could handle his drink, he was, after all, no mere mortal but one with great power and lineage, even if that lineage left him to die. Still some tried to get him eat strange drinks and powders and fruit that should make him loose his mind. Ben never minded, he became used to the folk underestimating him, it was how he preferred it so he would often eat it anyway and just pretend to be mad with happiness and giddy joy. This made his nights more interesting and more of a time to collect secrets rather than a time for parties, however tonight he kept his lips and tongue clean. His siblings all had fun with their groups and newfound strangers. All except Ezren. Always so serious. He kept his eyes on Ben a jealous fire in his eyes as ben kissed hands, twirled maidens and laughed with nobles. Ben had always told Ezren he’d be more favorable for the crown if he spent more of his time with the people rather than watching his siblings every move. But Ezren didn’t trust any of them except Liriel. So, he sat and watched ready to intercept at any time his siblings make a fool of themselves. Ben never truly cared however, he could hold his own and then some.
As the party died down, and that means people were beginning to fall over drunk and delusional, Ben made his way to the dais where his parents sat whispering and laughing to each other. His dad’s tail flicked back and forth for a bit then came to wrap around his mother’s wrist. Ben knew what that meant, when his father’s rail started wrap around his mothers limbs, either he was nervous for her or he was getting ready to bed her and from the look on his face Benn had a good idea it was the latter. He rushed to the top before their thrones and both the king and queen looked up in surprise at his sudden rush towards them.
“Mother, Father” he gave a short bow with each greeting.
“Ben, what is this, is something wrong, shouldn’t you be enjoying the revilers?” That was his father’s code for ‘Unless someone is dying you better make this quick’ and not in a ‘I can’t be bothered way’ but a ‘I’m gonna fuck your mom so make this quick’ sort of way.
“Yes, everything is fine but I wanted to make an announcement, a proposal of sorts, to the two of you and I feel everyone should hear too” His mother side eyed him, unsure if his plans. It was no secret Ben loved Jude the most since he was young. When he was seven and first came into her care, he’d sing her name at night and cry when she had to leave for royal duties and no nanny could console him until her return. His mother knew him better than anyone and he told her everything, everything except his plans for tonight. It made since she was suspicious, since that has always been her nature anyway.
“Does it have to be right now-“Jude elbowed cardan interrupting him.
“Of course you can give your…announcement” His mother trusted him, she just didn’t like not knowing what he was planning. Ben smiled at them and his father gave a slight eyeroll as he kicked his legs up on the side of his throne and waved his hand as a gesture saying ‘get on with it’. Ben took a step down from the dais so that he was in between steps. He turned to the crowd and spread his hands gaining the attention of few but not nearly all.
“High courts, gentry, royals and friends!” he shouted merriment laced in his voice. “I, Prince Ben, Oldest son of the High King and Queen” he looked at Ezren as he spoke those words, smirked then looked back at the crowd “Have an announcement, a proclamation for my parents and the high court,” He turned towards the thrones where the king and queen sat, but his voice resonated as if he was speaking to every single person in the room individually. “Mother, Father, all of Fae knows of the rumors of your choosing for the throne, I am not here to throw my hat in the ring, as the mortals say, but to instead withdraw myself from the line” Gasps fill the room and cries and uproars, he feels someone might have even fainted. “Instead I ask you give me another role, a new role, title, that I have made for myself. I wish to travel the lands of Fae, sea, mortal lands, and the unknown in search of allies, magic, emptied lands, treasures and advances. I wish to not own the crown but help it thrive and advance. I swear my service to it and my loyalty.” By the end of his proposal he is down on one knee head bent to the ground. He raises his eyes and sees his mother is shocked but hiding it with a steady look. His father has a smirk and looks as if he trying to keep from laughing meaning he either sees this as some joke or is nervous about what his son’s statements mean. Ben always had a feeling His mother saw him as one of the main royals reaching for the throne and probably assumed that that was what Ben had wanted. Ben just hoped she wasn’t upset with his decision.  The room was silent awaiting The High King and High Queen’s reaction.
His father broke the silence with a laugh “Blood or not you definitely got the dramatics of this family, here we thought you were about to announce some coup or something, pull a Balekin part two!”
“I didn’t think that” His mother said with a smirk, low enough only Ben and Cardan could hear. Cardan whispered something to his queen as Ben stayed on one knee. He saw from the top of his vision Jude give a curt nod, and His father stood up.
“My son,” he said with a sigh “Your proposal sounds…exactly and perfectly fit for you” Ben stood up as an uproar went up filled with cheers and surprised shouts. He looked over and saw the head of the guard look at him with betrayal on her face. Seems she realized she backed the wrong prince. “However,” The High King continued “I don’t know where all this talk of crowning a new ruler came from, but perhaps…” Cardan turned to look at Jude then back at the crowd “It might be time to consider and keep watch of who that will one day be, and keep in mind Ben, just because you want withdrawal now doesn’t mean you can’t come back to reconsider before it’s too late” Ben could feel the eyes of all his siblings even the ones who care far less about these ordeals. Ben had just moved a piece in an eight-player game of chess, the piece that not only started the game but caught the attention of the other players. It didn’t matter to Ben; he was taking himself out of the game enough to still come back a hero if he really wanted to, and according to his father, still a chance to come back as king if he ever changed his mind. Ben had all the freedom to do what he wanted, and none of the others could do the same without looking like followers to him, and they all knew it. None of them could pull off what he put in motion, now that it was already done. Ben turned to his father.
“Thank you, I will remember your words as I begin and endure my travels, but for now I plan to enjoy my first night with my new title and status and worry about the details tomorrow”. The high king smiled and nodded, then step back to his wife. Ben turned to his mother and her eyes questioned him while her lips pulled into a smirk. She rose from her throne and stood in front of him and gave him a seemingly innocent hug, but Ben knew better when she pulled him down to whisper in his ear.
“For once I don’t know what you’re planning, but remember this, the throne, this new title, your siblings’ ambition, are nothing to play around with, you’ve always been smart Ben don’t let this battle change that.” She pulled away and looked into his eyes, probably hoping to find some genuine emotion there in them.
“Don’t worry about me mother” he kissed her cheek “I know my place” with that he stepped down from the dais into the crowd with his head high and gold cape flowing behind him, yes, no one could deny he looked like a king that night, the same night he seemingly gave up the throne. Ezren watched from afar eyes secretly filled with unnerving satisfaction. Ben ignored him and the questions of the nobles that approached him and grabbed a drink he knew was supposed to make him crazy with faiery lust, he downed it feeling nothing. He was never the trickster type but he did have his secrets, secrets he would take with him on his upcoming travels, secrets that would only be reveled upon his inevitable return.
