Dude I hope you can fix your switch soon 😭 but yeah age of calamity is in the same art style as botw, and I don’t wanna spoil anything but you get to unlock almost every single “important” character and it’s just so fun!! I love playing as Impa (she’s young in this game) and Urbosa (and then obviously Sooga but you have to get the DLC for him). Oh and then each character has little mini mission things to level up their abilities/hearts (you just supply materials you get from playing missions) and each one has a little “story” with it and some of them are so fuckjng cute omg 😭 But whenever you’re able to play it PLEASE send me updates (especially whenever you see Sooga for the first time, even if you end up not liking him LMAO) I love seeing people react to things like this lol

Also dw about rushing to read anything!! The fics aren’t going anywhere lol

Also yes with the going away and coming back 😭 like it still hasn’t gone away with Sooga yet for me, but with Law it’s like. Never there anymore. However with Levi it did come back a few times even though it’s been… 8 ish ?? years since I started liking him lol. Actually now that I think abt it seeing videos of Law in universal Japan does it?? I think that’s just bc I know it’s a real person so it feels different lol

You got your mysterious Revali waking up 105 years later batter, and your angsty PTSD gay boys duo chocolate chips, and then you can chuck in some engaging sideplot elements as a few tall tiers, and then the cake is all whipped up with the wooden spoon of subtextual writing just mmmm delicious. and ALSO I betaed a thing that is gonna happen and let me tell you shit is gonna happen like VERY IMPORTANT SUPER COOL plot twists be happening so you better read it 

- Conversations After The End Of The World by @bismuthllie Ok this one’s a oneshot but I always go back and read it because...idk it just strums my heart strings a lot...I’ve said Pinesong was my first big Revalink fic I’ce read, but this was like...my first, first piece of Revalink content I read ever so...yeah <3 ....and also the art for this comic is fantastic too even thought it gives me the emotions......hahaha ok Revali it’s time to stop being dead

This is just my standard for Oc ship content now it’s so good I am gay for one fire girl Maiya is my spirit animal and I just wanna cup her in my hands softly even though I know she would probably burn me for it but it would totally be worth it. The writing is just superb and I am also gay for great imagery and action which this is chalk full of so go read it

Link is one of my absolute FAVES and babies and I protecc. I think that you’ll like him and the games. Did you know his name is Link because when they were planning the first games, the creator wanted you to see yourself reflected in the character? So that’s why he has no voice (other than his yelps and yells) and is mostly named ‘Link’, because he’s supposed to be a link between the player and the game, it’s supposed to be someone you channel yourself into even if just slightly. Also explains a bit of his physical looks; they say they wanted Link to look like a girl with boy attributes or like a boy with feminine attributes so anyone could feel related to him :3

BUT ENOUGH OF MY RANT, it’s just my love for this boy and everything of the Zelda universe is MY LOVE KLASDJKLADGJ 

Ooooooh, I see what you mean with the whole thing about the Witcher and whether I need to play the first 2 first. I’m catching that it’s sorta like Dragon Age? Like, there’s a kaload of books and info and the other 2 games that come first, but I’m not missing anything like...I can make sense to it. Still, however, it would be more...rich if I could play the first 2 games. I’d understand the story and the lore better, I’d have a better comprehension of the world and the history, and I’d know characters better and deeper.

Still, playing straight from the 3rd game is fine. I’m just missing things in that sort of way but it’s understandable and fine. That’s how I catch it, at least! :)

Well, if that’s the case, I may give a thought to getting the Witcher 3 one day. I do have heard it’s like a classic or a very dear game to many, many people, so I sure should try it out. Thanks for filling me in on whether it was fine to play the third alone or not!! Imma search for the books, as well. Reading is quite a passion for me and if I can complement reading with gaming...gawds, that sounds like HEAVEN

One of the many reasons I’m so intimate with XV is that it’s got a deep and intimate deal with father-son subjects, which makes me sort of weak. And knowing this about the Witcher makes it even more interesting!! Because it sounds like such a complex character with a complex purpose. One looks at him and it’s easy to think that he’s just a tough guy that, I don’t know, is a mercenary and looks for prizes and fame or something, or like he’s defending his dead wife’s memory and taking revenge, something savage and brutal like a Tough Guy, you know?

But the fact that he’s actually looking for his daughter? FUCK, THIS FUCKS ME UP INT HE BEST WAY POSSIBLE *SHRIEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEK*

I’m SO in love with storyes that don’t revolve around romance. Like, side romance is FANTASTIC, but when it’s like....the center itself, the core? BORING. But family or friend bonds? Siblings? F A T H E R  A N D  D A U G H T E R???????

PERFECT. BRILLIANT. There’s no better character arc/construnction than that of a tough guy fighting for the reasons that can come off as “not rough”. Looking for a daughter is SAVAGE AND BRUTAL AF but it’s not that common ya know. It’s usually revenge,t he love of his life, or something like that. But a tough guy looking for his baby girl? YAS. FAHK. I NEED I NEED I NEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEED

To kick off, I figured I’d post a snippet of something I’m working on... When I first started writing it, I wanted to finish it before botw came out, but now it’s two months later and I haven’t gotten much further... but if anyone wants to hear more, I’d be pleased to continue.

Approximately three months after the defeat of Zant and Ganondorf, Hyrule Kingdom was in reconstruction.

The Gorons were in friendly relations with the newly-rebuilt and repopulated Kakariko Village, the Zoras were surviving comfortably with King Ralis in reign, and people on all corners of the kingdom helped one another maintain a healthy, normal life.

Still to this day, I remain its princess.

I consider myself lucky. Less people died during the Twilight Invasion than in the Gerudo-Hylian war, hundreds of years ago. Zant, evil as he may have been, kept his word and spared my people once we surrendered. He even had the mercy to spare my parents, though they were turned into spirits like the rest because they were not protected by the Triforce of Wisdom as I was. If my parents were killed, Hyrule would have an eighteen-year-old queen.

All my life I have trained to rule my kingdom with grace, poise, and intelligence. While I am more than qualified to take the crown, I don’t believe I am ready, mentally.

I think about such matters as I watch the bustling crowd of Castle Town atop a balcony. With the summer sun beating onto my skin, I am sweltering in my regal gown. I want to take my gloves off so my hands can breathe but I am not in the mood to deal with a scolding.

“Your Highness?” A voice behind me says. I turn. “I have been requested to ask if you would like to oversee the knights’ training today.”

I hardly contain my laughter. “No, thank you. I’d sooner abandon my people than waste my time watching those cowards play with swords.” I move to watch over Castle Town once again, and hope that the messenger did not take offense to the tone of my voice.

“I have also been requested to mention that the Hero will be there, Your Highness.”

That gets my attention. Once again I turn to the messenger, chastising myself for moving with such eagerness. Whoever requested this must have known I’d taken an interest in Hyrule’s own Hero of Twilight.

Hyrule’s hero was a man of few words. In the past three months, he’d directed only a number of them to me. Since the day Link and I vanquished Ganondorf, I offered him a place in the castle as a knight, but he only accepted the offer a few weeks ago. His reluctance surprised me greatly. I’d been meaning to ask him why, but found the words stuck in my throat whenever I saw him. It was not like me to get so tongue-tied.

“I…” Silently cursing, I finally take off my gloves. “Thank you for the information, sir. I will come to the training grounds shortly.”

He bowed and left.

“Such an idiot,” I reprimanded myself. “Make it a little more obvious you want to see him, will you?”

I fold my gloves and take a deep breath. I am not the only one who will see the knights’ training today purely because of the Hero, I know. Many royal advisors agree with me about the lack of courage our knights possess, so seeing one bear the Triforce of Courage itself is like a beacon of hope to those in the castle. Link however…

I wonder if the Hero of Twilight will always surprise me, because I would never have expected him to be so humble. Since the final fight, Link has traveled between his hometown of Ordon and Castle Town, making sure things are alright with the kingdom, and spending time with his friends. I asked him about Hyrule’s neighboring province once, if his family would like to visit the castle, but he just smiled sadly and said, “My parents died a long time ago, Your Highness” and left.

I saw him fight the King of Evil himself, and the simple fact he emerged victorious stands to show how skilled he is with a sword, almost like he was born to wield such a weapon.

He will surely be the only interesting thing in that arena today.
