Hi there, this is the pinned post intro that I said I wanted to make

We want to start with our preferences for interaction, since most of you will be here checking that:

Thoughtseeker is my sona, and it should be notes that while they are a mirror of myself in many ways, this intro is for the "human" behind the screen, not the dragon (reason being that there are several things about them that aren't applicable to myself).

Our pronouns are They/Them, and sometimes we go by We/Us. We aren't plural, though (we know it might be confusing, bear with us), and plural pronouns are just a fun little thing we do. We're AroAce, moderately sex-averse and don't really care about romance. Our gender is kinda wobbly at the moment, and it fluctuates between "masculine and apathetic" and "moderately dysphoric non-binary transfem" (our "trans mood" is really hard to describe accurately)

We have ADHD, as well as social anxiety and some undiagnosed autism. Needless to say, our brain is NOT normal, and we are more than fine with that.

What is a butch/femme thing you can’t get into? 

Honestly just the word femme. I’m def not butch/masc but I am nb. I do identify with the things people describe as femme, like i def fall into the femme archetypes created by works like Stone Butch Blues. What is your idea of really good representation in media? 

This is a good question and I have mixed feelings. I think i just want more queer media in general, particularly by queer people.

I want more queer media that’s not like, ABOUT being queer, and definitely isn’t about like the horrible plight of being queer. I don’t want to erase the difficulties of queerness but like when I came out to my mom she kind of was like, I’d have never wished that for you because it’s hard to live as a queer person. And i understand where she gets that from, from the queer media that exists in the mainstream. But i don’t feel like being queer is some kind of curse. It’s a blessing and I couldn’t truly love myself if I didn’t see a way out of trying to be loved by men.

On the other hand I also just want more queer media that’s not for straight people. I don’t really need most straight people to like see the deep nuances of my gender. I want to be able to write stuff that’s queer that’s completely illegible to straight people and I want that to be okay. I want things that represent the community building aspect of queerness - how much of our practices revolve around showing up for each other, how much effort our spaces put into being inclusive. I want the things we make not to be held to the standard of perfection or breadth of audience.

What do you look for in a romantic partner? 

Ohhhh interesting. I’ve been thinking about this. I try to avoid making like a laundry list bc I think being too specific in what i’m looking for can easily turn into projecting a hypothetical Ideal Partner onto someone who checks some of my boxes - and that’s not fair to either of us.

I think I want someone with whom i can continue exploring my gender. I want someone who will dance with me and let me cook for them. I want someone who is curious and engaged with my work, and who is also working on things I can help them think through. I’ve never had a partner with whom I share a second language, and have always been curious what kind of communication that would open up.

Also i should mention here that I’m practicing polyamory at the moment, so I’m interested in someone who’s curious about alternative family structures and invested in community building. Some of these things (like freedom to explore my gender) are more important than others, I don’t expect anyone to like check all these boxes.
