okay this is clearly a troll, but I’ll answer anyway since this seems to be a topic of interest to people lately. I wrote a lot and talked about sexual assault, so go ahead and skip it if that’s not your jam. disclaimer: I don’t have a problem or think there’s anything wrong with people who don’t want to follow me bc of the bf. that’s legitimate! please do what suits you. I think some of my responses have been perceived as snarky in the past but I only try to be snarky when I suspect a troll, I really don’t have a problem with people unfollowing me b/c of the bf or even telling me about it.

I worked with Malcolm for about a year and a half before we go together, but we got together for the first time 5 months after I had a brief but intense love affair with a meth addict that ended in big traumatic ways after he started using heavily again, which eventually cultivated in him raping me (not that it was the only sexual violence I experienced with him but that time was particularly horrific because I was heartbroken and he was high on meth). he was also a man, and the reason I started dating him isn’t so clear to me except that I was looking for a way to live recklessly and self harm. There’s a longer story there but the details can’t be told concisely and it’s no one’s business. In any case, everything that happened with him is not worth recounting, but it was long and complicated and continued even after the rape. To give some context about how bad it was, I also had worked with the meth addict (I’m not using his name on purpose), and part way through our relationship he got a new job. a couple weeks after the rape, he lost that job and got his old job back. yeah, imagine being dumped by a meth addict and the being raped by him and then he starts working with you when you know he is using now. not fun, pretty sad to think about.

I was in a very traumatized state for months. It’s hard to describe what it’s like, except you don’t feel like you’re living. You can feel very foreign to your own life. I felt like something inside of me was constantly pressing against me to get out, and if it did it would be me screaming. Like, my skin had become a suit to mask the babbling lunatic underneath. I would have random outbursts where I would wince in pain and people would ask what was up and it was just that the emotional pain was felt so sharply it became physical, but I felt like I couldn’t be honest with people. I did go to therapy, it felt like life and death. right around the time before Malcolm and I together, so a few months into therapy, my therapist gave me permission to feel okay seeking out love, sex, and relationships, because I was feeling very guilty that I might be using someone if I did. In any case, Malcolm showed up to my bday party, and was one of the last to leave, and I just was ready for the next thing after the meth addict bf. Every day I didn’t have sex, the last person I had sex with was him. I wanted to be normal again. I was feeling a little better, less freakish, but still so sad. So I said, okay Malcolm, come home with me and he did. It didn’t seem so bad to take Malcolm home with me because I wasn’t very interested in him long term, so it seemed like low stakes to end up hurting him. Low investment. Yadda yadda.

Malcolm was also convenient, he lived walking distance. he was nice, friendly, easy to hang out with. our emotional intimacy was very low, it was low low low low maintenance dating. Malcolm felt very safe, he was the polar opposite of the other bf. we had a casual, boring, unintimidating fling for a few months that sputtered out. if the other bf was like riding a roller coaster that was condemned, Malcolm was like taking a nap on the bus back home after a long exhausting day at the amusement park. I know, it’s not very sexy. But it was nice to feel like a human again, have proof I could be normal, proof I could do unsexy things like watch tv and go to brunch and it didn’t feel like I was a freak for trying after months of feeling like I had a neon sign over my head that said “idiot adult woman dated meth addict like it wasn’t going to end up fucking her over HA HA.” I was ready to go out with my new sense of normalcy and have fun with people I might be, er, to be blunt, more interested in.

BUT the most amazing thing was we stayed friends after the break up, which I had never had before. and even though the first few months of dating helped me feel normal again in a way, it turns out being raped by your meth addict ex leaves deep, painful welts. who could guess. Seeking out other relationships from scratch ended up being exhausting. When do I bring up that I’m not even a year from a meth addict raping me? Date two? I tried with other people, and it wasn’t working. I dropped dating, and focused on friends and work instead. But I missed him some days, and as things around me were starting to feel like they were crumbling again, he was there and around. He came over, smoked weed, taught me MTG, let me make him dinner, took me out to bars, listened to me cry, had gentle sex. Soon we were seeing and talking to each other every day. We spent enough time together that it became clear we were dating again, and this time around it was more enjoyable and more intimate. It felt easier to invest in our relationship the second time around because he already knew the baggage. We started dating and eventually, out of the sake of convenience, moved in together.

But if it makes you feel any better, anon who is probably not reading this, the state of my relationship is not great atm. It feels like we’re very good friends that share a bed. I always had doubts about this relationship from the beginning, I was never really crazy about Malcolm and was tentative about being exclusive. I rationalized the relationship with thoughts like “you don’t know until you try” and “maybe this love is different love, and it doesn’t feel like previous love because I still need to learn more about love.” I don’t think that’s quite it anymore. But, we live together in an unpredicted pandemic, so I sort of made my bed. Plus, it’s hard to decide to break up with someone who isn’t bad just maybe not good enough. Maybe it’s my fault? some days I wake up and think, “oh well am I really giving him 100%? if I tried harder maybe it would be better.” Maybe it’ll get better? What’s life post pandemic and when is it coming, I can’t know. I’ve been depressed, will I get better? Will it change things? I also adore his parents, they’ve been amazing to me, they inspire me. they’ve opened their hearts to me. losing them weighs heavy. I love Malcom very much, he’s been a good friend and we’ve built a nice little life together that has a lot of parts working. How do you decide what day to hurt someone you love? Idk...I guess I entered this relationship to learn.

The Meth Addict has loomed large in our relationship and casts a long shadow. I’ve talked about it with Malcolm but I’m not sure he fully understands it. almost 3 years since my birthday we hooked up. That’s a long time. It’s as long as the relationship I had with my first love. I can’t predict the full story Malcolm and I will have, but I can see a potential break up looming closer. I struggle with it every day. Some nights, like tonight, it’s seems pretty clear cut. If I think this way now it pretty much proves I want to break up, right? But tomorrow morning he’ll make me tea and we’ll talk about our weekend plans and I’ll think “oh this is so nice, what was I even thinking about last night? I’m getting in my own head.” So I don’t know! I think about women a lot. I think about how I talk frankly about my bisexuality on tumblr and yet my experiences with men outnumber that with women. I feel like I’m cheating sometimes, like I’ve lead you guys to believe something that’s not real even though I’m not lying. I think about how I never want to cheat on Malcolm but I get crushes and I want to sleep with women and I wonder if I should be a mom and I think about his parents and it gets confusing. I feel guilty about thinking about our convenience because that’s cheating him and cheating me, but sometimes I wake up happy and much happier than I’ve been in 10 years.

So I guess the reason I’m dating a scrote is because I’m complicated and have a bit of a messy life, and I live day to day, and we make micro choices that lead to macro choices and then we make macro choices that lead to micro choices, and I haven’t pulled the trigger on breaking up with him yet. He was part of the healing journey because, well, he was here. In my real life. It turns out the women we follow on tumblr are very very human with lives far more complex that can be summed up in a few posts on tumblr. Maybe ask me in 50 years why I dated Malcolm, I’ll probably have a better idea why.

valentine’s day was so draining

i woke up at A’s to him leaving, saying he would be back and nothing else. it didn’t occur to me something might be wrong bc i was so sleepy, so i went back to sleep. it was when i woke up half an hour, an hour later, that i texted him asking if everything was alright, and all he said was “no”, then, “will be tho”. and i was so scared in that moment. my first thought was the he wasn’t okay, and then it immediately went to AJ. but when i asked, he implied it wasn’t him or AJ.

i left bc he said he probably wouldn’t be home in a while, but i was so worried. not even for whoever he was with (bc i assumed he was with someone at that point), which maybe is a bad thing? but for him. because he takes on so much and i know how overwhelming it is and i know he struggles not to… i don’t know, make it personal in a way i guess? he puts it on himself, just like i do, and i was scared because i knew he still had his scissors…

((( and i felt a bit shitty bc does that make me too attached? to not be able to work or think because i’m so worried for my boyfriend? he keeps telling me not to be dependent, but i don’t entirely know what that means. i know i don’t depend on him for my own life. i don’t want to think about him dying because please fucking god no, i don’t know what i’d do, but… i know i wouldn’t die. i’d be fucking devastated and i don’t think i’d stop crying for a solid fucking year, but i wouldn’t die. he told me once that L used to say to him she would die if he did. and no, i wouldn’t die. but in a metaphorical sense, it would kill me. i haven’t even known him for a year, but i can’t imagine a world without him. not even my world, but the world in general. i don’t want to think about it )))

so i was worrying about him and his safety when five minutes after i got home i got a text saying “AJ tried to kill herself”, and i didn’t know what to do, what to say. all i could think was fuck fuck fuck please no

i struggle with crying, but i sat down and cried for a minute or so before i just felt empty again, as usual. and i texted him back and eventually found out he was at the ER, so i went to find it as fast as i could. i was so scared for everyone, not just him. AJ and B and SF and S and the world, bc i can’t imagine a world without AJ, either. she’s just. so insanely good. she’s so kind and caring and funny and so fucking important

i found A in the parking lot and his eyes were red and puffy and i just hugged him for a few minutes, feeling slightly uncomfy because now both of us were just standing in the parking lot crying as people walked by. we got into the car and cried a bit more until we decided to go inside and the immediately let us in.

and it was weird? bc here was AJ, cuts along her entire forearm (and i just kept thinking she doesn’t deserve this, to feel this way… and neither does A, because the other part of my brain was just breaking because that sight was new to me, but not to him), and the three of us were just laughing. fucking standing in the room dabbing and whipping and cracking jokes despite the fact that AJ theoretically could have died

((( she couldn’t have. not with what she took – just a handful of melatonin and ibuprofen. but that’s the other scary part. because later we’re just sitting there and the doctor is explaining this and how she would have had to take over 100 pills of ibuprofen to hurt herself and A, sitting right next to me, murmurs the exact fucking number. and i didn’t know what to do. i just froze and my heart fucking shattered and i squeezed his hand, held it too tightly, because i was suddenly empty. he knows how much it takes, and that terrifies me. i love him so fucking much, even though i’m shit at showing it )))

we were in the hospital from around 9:30am to 4:00pm. i missed two classes, but it’s fine. we were joined later by AJ’s cousin and AJ & A’s squad + another friend. and i nearly cried once we had all snuck in at the same time, because i was just hoping AJ knew in that moment how loved she was. so many people sitting around her, putting their fucking feet in a circle. i don’t know who said it, might’ve been me, i don’t know, but someone said all of us – this dumb fucking group of distraught and loving people – were her family, and i just hope she felt safe and happy and loved in that moment.

we had to leave later, bc AJ was taken into observation and most of us had class. i took in absolutely nothing during that class period with A bc all i could think of was nothing and everything at the same time. i went home after as A went to training for his volunteer position and then the next wildly emotional thing happened.

i was just sitting there on the couch and i get this fucking text from my mom that just says “so honey, i just told your dad about you and A”. and my stomach dropped because did my dad hate me now? because that’s what i was expecting, 100%

((( maybe it wasn’t fair of me to think my dad would hate me because i’m dating a transman i dunno but. i have trouble talking about this to A because i don’t think he’d like to hear that i was “scared” to tell my family because he’s trans. he might not even like that my family knows he’s trans in the first place. it really wasn’t my place to tell, not without asking him first. i was stupid to say anything to my mom without permission from A, but once i had, there was no taking it back )))

instead of hate, my mother tells me something completely different. that my dad wasn’t really surprised (about my sexuality, not about the fact that i’m dating a trans guy), and that he loved me, and that i’m his daughter and it’s my life to live. so of course i’m immediately crying on the couch for the second time that day (for like. a minute ofc) because holy fuck. i’m out to my entire family and not one of them hates me. i can talk about A in front of my dad and it’s okay. they love me, and i know my mom likes A and i think my dad will too and everything is okay and it’s such a sharp contrast to how the day started that when A came later that night, i was just so exhausted. so fucking drained, so many emotions.

and of course

i couldn’t

cry

no matter how much i wanted to, because i really did. i just wanted to cry on A’s shoulder about AJ, about my dad, about everything, and i couldn’t, because something is wrong and i don’t know what it is but i miss crying a lot.

so there’s all that, and then there’s the other connected thing. A’s smoking.

i know why he’s been doing it, i understand that need for a sort of a crutch. so i literally don’t have the capability to judge him for it, but i still don’t like it. i don’t want him to become addicted to it again, because i don’t want to be in that environment. i don’t want him to constantly smell of smoke, i don’t want his lungs and throat to be black and his teeth yellow. i want him to be safe physically and mentally, but i don’t know how to help him because he won’t tell me when he wants to smoke. i can’t stop him if i’m not with him. if he smokes again today, i’m scared he won’t stop. and he really needs to, because he’s smoked the last two days, and i know he doesn’t want to be addicted again either. i want to help him find a better crutch, but how can i do that if he won’t help himself by… i don’t know, calling me if he’s standing there wanting to smoke? texting me, letting me know? i don’t know what to do, but if he smokes again, i’m going to need to talk to him about it.

because i’m not saying i’m going to marry him – it’s way too early to say that holy shit – but in the end, i couldn’t be that seriously involved with someone with an actual smoking addiction (which he doesn’t really have). ugh, dunno. i’m not going to leave him for smoking when he’s stressed right now ObViOuSlY, bc i love him a lot, so much it scares me, but i just don’t know what the hell to do

One Saturday night in July (21-18)

I had another dream about you again. GOD, how long has it been since I have even thought of your name. My brother brought you up one day, that little shit. Anyways, I think I dreamt about you because my aunt told me that she didn’t even want me to think about marrying Mitchell because she dated two guys for 4 years each until she met Seth.....but Seth was there all along¿ but what if I...I just found my one after you broke my heart? Did I learn enough from you???? Hell no. We were like 4th graders in that relationship. But the thing I got to thinking about that day is why you left, and why you’re still angry. Like I don’t care that you left (now) because obviously I’ve upgraded tremendously...(no offense) and I love him so dearly. But there’s a pain in my heart and an urge for perfection and I HATE when I just fuck everything up and I don’t want to do it again. Like god yeah I was kinda a bitch, but why can’t we be adults and you be approachable when I reached out a year later. Obviously didn’t go all roses and peaches for me when you broke my heart....but I’m glad you did I fucking woke up. Thing is, I’ve always been so attached to people. And right now I’m just so incredibly fucking attached to Mitchell. Like god, I mean great I’m so into him, and I thought I figured out how to be on my own and I did for a while. But I just lost it again. First night in two weeks (vacation) that I’m not sleeping right not sleeping next to him and I’m going nuts. I’ve about convinced myself to take a bottle of liquor to the park and take shots on the swings....but I decided I’m lazy and it’s too far of a walk. But seriously, I need to let it go. ......why am I so side tracked....anyways like I need to let you go and all the explanations. I had a dream that we were at the high school again when I ran into you at my brothers graduation...and you agreed to talk. I felt like I was finally getting closure but I’ve had these dreams before and why do they keep happening I’m so ducking over you and yet that Samantha that was with you was so toxic that I’m just afraid I’ll get there again...and it haunts me. I just don’t want to mess things up with him. We were once in a toxic place last December and I thought it was over and I did some really stupid stuff because of that. And now it haunts me, he knows and I feel like it hangs over my head sometimes because the world doesn’t know, but some do but they tell it the wrong way....and now people at work don’t like me because of false rumors...but you know I’m trying to let that go because I was not in a good mindset....being controlled in a relationship was not good and I was just trying to call out, and I did and not in a good way and it’s fine. And now me and him are better and we are on the same Page....but what if he thinks I’m controlling or what if he doesn’t want me anymore or finds someone better and I’m crying for no fucking reason because I hate being home. When I’m in Lincoln I can escape from all of this....so many “parties” to forget he lives an hour away doing god knows what. I know he’s loyal, but the devil inside my head tells me what if one day he’s not. And that and that is just what kills me. And you know sometimes he lies....like that fucking Hannah chick I hate her (back story she has literally tried to steal him from me MULTIPLE times) but now she’s just trying to be his friend. (LIES) and I told him I don’t feel comfortable when he texts her back and yet I just saw the texts from back and forth from the beginning of the vacation and I’m about to lose it. He doesn’t tell me or tells me she hasn’t texted just so an argument doesn’t start, well GOOD NEWS THIS IS WORSE NOW. but other than her like we have been the best we’ve been like ever. I really think this could be the time we’re meant to be together forever. If I could just stop being a maniac all the time that would be helpful because my brain just ruins everything for me. I literally have voices in my head that tell me the worse outcomes and I secretly fucking cry all the time because I’m making myself crazy but that’s okay. And I get off topic and should have started a whole new post for this topic but here it is KOLBY, I’m ducking insane. You were right. Congrats. You really struck out on that one. Oh also love my body on how it plays mind games on me and makes me 4 pounds heavier and period 9 days late so I think I’m pregnant. FALSE, tests negative and period came today....congrats I’m just stressed. AWESOME. Obviously you don’t unstress when you’re late so it will NEVER come.... but woot not a mom. (Was excited for 6 seconds Bc I love kids, but then had 9 mental breakdowns on how I hate babies sooooo) we’re good. I don’t even know why I was freaking out my birth control is 99 percent effective but I thought you know I’m already fucked up why don’t I just cut the odds and be that 1 percent-er!!!!!! Woot. Anyways he’s off in Wisconsin this week for a work trip and there’s going to be hot business girls there so here’s to blogging my feelings away so I don’t drink my feelings away. I didn’t drink tonight :) oh off topic but I haven’t been able to drink a lot lately....like even if I want to it’s been like 2 drinks casually with people but that’s it. So it’s all in my mind.....I just can’t seem to want to get fucked up...... def will change in the school year. Anyway thanks for listening to my rant, you always knew when to shut up and listen 😂. Writing my feelings definitely makes me feel crazy but at least I’m more relaxed. (Ps Mitchell landed on my head tubing and my neck is completely stiff and in pain and I might have another concussion....but have to go to work on Monday so wish me luck.....my mom thinks I’m over reacting...oh sure)

Let me make a very long story short and get right to the questions. I have moved across the United States by myself at the age of 20 with no insurance covered by my parents, nor will they ever if they could. I had a retinal detachment in my left eye. Paid out of pocket for an eye doctor appointment, he freaked out and told me to go straight to the emergency room for emergency surgery since my entire retina was detached. After my surgery, half unconscious too, a social worker got assigned to me because I was under 21 and legally dependent on the state. So the state paid for my surgery. I had a 2nd one too because the first failed. During my 2nd surgery I had cataracts in my eye so they removed the natural lens. And they never replaced the natural lens since they feared the retina may detach again like the first time. But it stay together and I turned 21. So therefore, legally independent by the state. My check up appointment was after my birthday which the front desk of the eye section declared I must pay $80 for every check up visit, which they wanted me to come in every other week. And if I did not pay, I could not go in. Due to my 6 months of surgeries and recover time I had no money, and was not working. I live with my in-laws, and they were taking care of me, but they are certainly not going to pay my medical bills. So here I am now, age 22 and I have been working for about a year. My job does not offer health insurance until you worked for a year, and even then, there is a certain month you can sign up. I have been walking around for over a year without a natural lens, or ANY lens in my left eye. This is in no way like being blind. My doctor had told me that if I got my license and drove, if ever in an accident, I would get in serious trouble because you are not supposed to drive this way. Not that I do, I cannot see correctly so it is wicked dangerous. Having no lens in one eyes messes with your other eye. Hard to explain unless you have literally had this situation before. Sunlight glares into my bad eye, then into my good eye. Same with darkness or bright lights in general. I am actually very blind at night because of this. This is literally ruining my life. I have no money to pay for insurance, or the surgery which can be easily be 10,000 dollars. Is this legal for a county hospital to do? I have never heard of anyone in my situation. My BCBS of AL policy was $174 per month for a $3250 Deductible. Now, its $303.40 starting in Jan for a $6350 Deductible. Oh, but I get up to 3 $35 vists per year. This is not affordable. Enterprise Rent a Car Insurance?

I reserved a rental car in California with Enterprise. The price was $9.99/day because of a weekend deal . When I checked in at the counter the agent told me that I needed to either provide proof of FULL COVERAGE insurance or purchase their insurance (which would raise my daily rate from $9.99 to $40)!! If I didn't do either then they wouldn't let me rent a car. I thought that was ridiculous and decided not to rent a car. My grandfather, who is 72 years old, needs round-the-clock care that has now exceeded our capabilities. He suffers from pre-existing bad to severe dementia. He's suspicious, falls frequently, very forgetful, suffers from sundowning. He just doesn't know what to do and he even struggles with basic life functions. He also suffers from lymphatic cancer that metastasized to his lung and chest cavity, as well as squamous cell carcinoma that is very resistant to all his previous treatment and has spread to open wounds on his arm. Because all of his lymph nodes were removed, his lymphatic fluid constantly pools in that arm and swells to hugely abnormal size. Therefore he has to wear a sleeve to keep it in place, which is painful for him to put on and is time-consuming for his caregiver. He also is supposed to keep his arm elevated, but refuses because of his dementia. He is mean and hateful at times and insists that we are trying to kill him and is always demanding that his caregiver (my aging and stressed grandmother) remain at his side at all times, or he grows suspicious about her fidelity. He has hallucinations. We moved in with them to help her take care of him, but my school work (homeschooled, mainly to take care of them) and my mother's commute to work have also taken a toll on us. We hated to think about it, but we finally resolved that he belongs as a permanent resident in a home. The biggest problem is the astronomical cost which we can't just chip together , as it was never there in the first place. We did research on nursing home coverage and found out about long term care coverage. We found out some basic things like it is best to purchase at a young age. Unfortunately, my grandmother was never educated on insurance and doesn't possess significant life insurance nor anything like long-term care, and he doesn't qualify for the little help Medicaid offers. Although he suffers from cancer, he has reached the end of his treatment. His cancer was too resistant to all prospective radiation and chemotherapy, and the anti-body treatment that he tried, he had a massive allergic reaction to. He has awful pain all the time and is on a rotated regimen of extra strength ibeproufen and high dosage morphine, with a high grade fentanyl pain patch. So, although cancer plays a part in his insurance qualification in name, apart from being administered his medication and sleeve, his cancer is not the main concern as far as his care/treatment goes. We have had to accept that he is going to die sooner or later and are trying to find the best final preparations. Bentonite clay seems to be drawing out some of the side effects of his radiation (after which his cancer got worse), and so may prolong his life. The short prognosis was 2-9 months. His dementia have become exhausting and endless. There's simply nothing we can do anymore. He's on prescription for Aricept for the dementia and we give him melatonin for the sundowning, which seems to have a calming effect. Sorry for the long piece, but we're all very distressed about this and I felt that I had to give a thorough explanation of his ailments and treatment. Our needs are a long-term stay in a nursing home facility covering skilled care for his dementia, activities of daily living, ect. We also hope that he can be treated with respect and dignity. We need affordable prices like anyone else in the middle class, not astronomical rates. We also need a policy that would either cover pre-existing without penalizing for it or not asking health questions, ect., as my grandfather is obviously in need of care we can't offer him. The only policy we have even brushed upon is Physicians Mutual. We don't know anything about it really, and we don't know where to look for anything else. Everything seems to lead to a dead end online when we need a solution. Any help is greatly appreciated.""

I have been with AAA my whole life because my father advocates highly for them so I have trusted his judgment and experience. But I think they may be ripping me off. I insured myself with Provisional Marmalade while I was still learning, so I could drive my mum and dad's car as additional practice. Prov. Marm. have another part to their company, Young Marmalade for newly passed drivers, apparently giving you the best quotes, however I couldn't find anything under 3000! I am a 17 year old boy living in the Northeast of Scotland, one of the most common places for a collision in the whole of the UK. However, I am not in anyway a dangerous driver. My dad has been driving for 50 years and told me he feels very safe while driving with me as a learner, and I always stay within the speed limit, with the exception of if I don't realise I'm doing over the limit. My mum and dad have been saving some money for me for about 10 years, but it's only about 1300, and I don't have any more money apart from that.
