How mockingly harmonious was it that while her soulmate always tried his convincing best to become another person, all Diana had ever needed to do was being her own true echo. 

Koi no Yokan - one shot. There is no planning involving this one, I’m just gonna see how it goes and edit afterwards. Also, here is the first scene:

She smiles at you like any stranger would, surprised and unprepared and hesitant. Her lips are stiff and polite, instilled into her from an early age from the nobility running in her blood. Yet, her eyes are tempestuously watery, grieving for her dear lost brother. You learned the word before, “grieve”, but this is the first time you find an appropriate use for it. You lay it down gently in the dark soil of your mind, like carefully burying a body in the earth, grief, grieve, grieving, so it can decompose and become a part of you, as all dead things eventually turn to dust.

The herbivores are actually insane, roaming the streets as though they're prepared for war, all while a kind of grief lingers in the air... But more importantly! That school is gorgeous!!

USM Parksborn fic

I saw a post a while ago that I can’t seem to find now, but it was asking for more Ultimate Spiderman Parksborn fanifcs.  I realized when I saw it that...they’re right! There really aren’t a lot.  On Ao3 where I exclusively do my fanfic reading, there are currently only 71 parksborn fics.  This needs to change.  So, obviously, when I hit writers block on the first chapter of the third part of my MCU Parksborn trilogy (that was originally supposed to be only 1 fic), I knew I had to write a short USM fic.  

I’ve finished this fic and am currently editing it. It should be posted within the week.  I wanted to only write a short little thing, but it turned into 19,000 words.  Anyway, ask and you shall receive!  Here is a snipped of the fic to get ya’ll excited!

           Peter’s eyes widened in shock.  His hands trembled around the tablet he held.  His heart beat loudly in his ears.  No.  This couldn’t be right.  But it was. There was no denying.  Ock had hired a hit on Harry Osborn.  

           “Heh.  Look at the expression on Webhead’s face!”  Nova laughed.

           Iron Fist sighed and walked to his bucket-wielding friend.  He placed a hand on Nova’s shoulder, a disappointed look in his eyes.  “It saddens me that you have no one you care for as much as Spiderman does Harry. There are times we must keep our mouths shut, and our hearts open.  This is one of those times.”

           “Iron Fist’s right.  Now’s a good time to flex your empathy muscle.”  Power Man, always Iron Fist’s defender, tuned into the conversation, if only to support the monk.  He hadn’t really been listening until he heard the sadness in Iron Fist’s voice, he pieced the rest together from there.

           Nova bowed his head.  He hadn’t meant to come off as insensitive.  He never did.  He just had a difficult time controlling his filter.  Words escaped his mouth faster than he could process them; how was he supposed to stop them if he didn’t know what he was about to say before he said them?

           “Looks like Ock’s really trying to get back at Norman.  Every hitman, villain for hire, and low-level kidnapper is gonna be after Osborn.  Let’s just hope we get to him first.”  White Tiger’s voice was loud, loud enough to gather everyone’s attention and bring them back to the real matter at hand.  

           Peter glared down at the screen, anger boiled in his blood as his body tensed. “Are we done?  I’d like to go save my best friend now.  If that’s okay?”  Peter sassed through gritted teeth.  He looked to Fury who examined the information in front of them.  

           “I don’t want you on this mission, Spiderman.  It’s a conflict of interest…but since I know you.  I’d rather sanction this mission to you than have you go off grid and risk your life without my permission or help.  So…this mission is yours.  You are solely responsible for keeping Harry Osborn alive. I want you to stay with him, 24/7 until we handle the situation.  Tiger, Iron Fist, Power Man, and Nova, you four are responsible for making sure this hit goes away.  I expect subtly and grace.  This will be a covert mission, I want minimal contact with any of Ock’s goons.  We need the element of surprise here, otherwise, Ock will get spooked and go into hiding.”  Fury looked at the group.  “Do not bring Osborn here.”  Fury glanced at the exits.  “I don’t trust everyone here.”  

           “What!?”  The offense in Nova’s voice triggered a snicker from Tiger.  She whacked the hero over the back of the head.

           “He means SHIELD, thick-skull!  Not us.”

I HAVE SO MANY THO LMAO.

Actually, I’ll veer away from card games for a bit and say Sawada Tsunayoshi from Katekyo Hitman Reborn, who I think has one of the best development arcs in shounen anime history tbh. I legit hated this kid for most of the series and that’s why it took me so long to finish it, but once the arc started where Tsuna and the others were warped 10 years into the future, he was SUCH a fantastic character with awesome growth that it was hard to imagine I ever hated the guy for so long. xD;;; 

E - Have you added anything cracky/hilarious to your fandom? If so, what?

N - Name three things you wish you saw more of in your main fandom (or a fandom of choice).

I mean, I’m not /technically/ in any fandoms to speak of (that are active anyway), but boy, do I have wishes for the YGO fandom. (also, three things. lmao.)

1. I guess more of a sense of community? Now you might be thinking, “What does that even mean? Of course there’s a sense of community!” and yeah, that’s true, I guess. 

But - and I know I’m gonna sound old when I say this but - I feel like back in the mid-2000s, it was so much easier to talk to other people outside your “internet friend group” about YGO as long as you had something in common. But, these days, everyone’s so tight-knit with their own groups that they don’t allow for a lot of room for other people to join in. 

So, to take a personal example, I know there’s this one group of people on Twitter who really loves VRAINS and Yusaku. Which is a rarity on Twitter these days, so naturally, I want to speak with them more. But, even with my replying to their tweets and interactions like that, I’m not … quite a part of their group. 

So yeah, it’s fine to have your own groups in fandoms b/c fandoms are less stressful that way, but don’t be so exclusive that you don’t let anyone in. 

2. More respect for fanfic writers who don’t happen to be popular within the fandom and don’t write about popular ships. 

3. A sense of realization that there’s no one objectively better YGO series. A YGO series might excel in one area better than the others, but, in the end, they’re all unique, so there shouldn’t be any “elitism” regarding any of the series.

Viktor Nikiforov has a huge inheritance on his name, a large estate, and too much time on his hands. Though a popular painter, he's struggling to find his muse again. That is, until he sees a man by the name of Eros dance. After introductions, Viktor finds that same spark that he hasn't felt in a long time has suddenly flared up again.

This is Katsuki Yuuri falling in love, and getting in too deep. honestly?? I’ll stand this fic forever. No matter how many victuuri fics i read, this’ll be one of my favourites. I’m a sucker for the mafia!Au thing, and this one just captures it so well. Reading this had been a wild ride and put me through so many emotions tbqh.

Kintsugi by witchbane, Explicit, 90k (WIP)

Yuuri Katsuki is a hitman burdened with a debt he can never repay. His target: Viktor Nikiforov, next Pakhan to one of the most dangerous families in the Russian mafia.

When the two are drawn into a treacherous alliance after a mission gone wrong, the bonds of love and loyalty to family and duty begin to unravel—even as they get more tangled up in each other. wow, we’re following the pattern of mafia fics, i see. I was late to the game of reading this fic tbqh, but i heard such good things about it that i had to try it. i’m not going back now.

A Stranger’s Groom by SophiaFrederica, Mature, 18k (WIP)

Viktor has always felt a strange connection to Bridget Jones, something that Yuri will never understand. Sure, there are quite a few differences between them: first, Viktor doesn’t feel very insecure about his looks (apart from his thinning hairline) and second, he doesn’t embarrass himself regularly. He has also made an amazing career and with his status as a high-class celebrity, he probably won’t need to worry too much about money for the rest of his life. But there’s something in Bridget that Viktor understands better than anyone, the fear of never finding your true love and spending your whole life all alone. i only recently started this and so far i love it! I definitely suggest giving this fic a try!

SIngular by TrashKanForLife, Explicit, 14k (WIP)

Yuuri fiddled with the hem of his sweater, overwhelmed by the sheer formality of this floor. He's sure his favoured pair of sneakers only cover about twentieth of the costs for the workers' footwear and he wonders if they pay the salon daily for their sharp appearances. Yuuri does not belong here.

"Mr. Nikiforov will see you now." ahaha i live for 50 shades rewrites, and this just gives such a good vibe, the characterisation is wonderful, there’s no hula dancing mental goddesses, and viktor is just in love, anyway this is amazing and even if you have a deep set hatred for the 50 shades franchise like me, it’s 100% worth the read.

Yuuri Katsuki has been betrothed to the High King's son, Victor, since he was just a child; furthermore, as an omega, he's forbidden from practicing magic in combat. For years, he's been able to put off the former because the Prince was traveling abroad, and gotten around the latter by practicing with his mentor in secret.

Now Victor Nikiforov has finally returned home, and Yuuri is being summoned to the capital for their wedding. He needs a plan to put off marriage long enough to find a way to break the betrothal, while keeping his practicing from being discovered.

If only the Prince didn't have other ideas. this is exactly my type of fic. the writing, the atmosphere, the plot... literally everything. I can’t express how much I love this. The way Viktor and Yuuri’s relationship developed was just wonderful. ugh.
