ANYWAYS EXTRA BITS!!!! So. Yeah. I wasted exactly 27 hours and 29 minutes of my life making this over a period of like. ~a week and a half LMAO????? I THINK IT WAS LONGER?? Yeah all of these are completely redrawn from the Og “panels”, replicating the dungeon meshi style is. MISERABLE I don’t know why I did this to myself holy fucking shit, all of you blame @squiffer-salad for this monstrosity she’s the reason why this exists in the first place /silly

anyways, I highly recommend looking at the panels individually because I put a lot of fun extra bits in them and just. A LOT of effort in general, any likes, reblog’s, or comments are insanely appreciated since this did take such a long time :’DDD, everything in these minus the backgrounds are completely redrawn/shaded/and colored by hand, this includes mid/screen tones as I used specific layers for those! anyways thank you for coming to my period cramp projection ted-talk I’m going back into my Everglade hole.

If any of you are still alive, from a retired veteran of the RotBTD fandom, the thought occurred to me today, in 2024 time, that if we wanted updated artwork of the characters, we should turn to the Mirrorverse’s designs for Rapunzel and Merida. They look absolutely badass and I will not hear any arguments cause they are: wow

Hiccup’s updated designs will of course be HTTYD’s latest versions of himself.

But Jack, unfortunately, we have to use our imaginations. Especially since Dreamworks has selfishly held back on a guardians sequel.

(I say that last part specifically as a joke… however they do need to make a sequel just so we can have a ‘hiccup-glowup’ moment again but with Jack Frost.)

Just read another horrible analysis on why AoiAoi is toxic that completely ignores the themes of the manga and positive development of their relationship. Oh and of course they took the Akane yandere jokes 100% seriously and ignored the fact that they went away after he realized Aoi didn’t like being put on a pedestal

I mean absolutely no hate but guys PLEASE check your biases before analyzing characters or relationships you dislike. It’s very easy to ignore their good points even if you think you’re being neutral. I don’t hate many characters but for the ones I do hate I would never try to analyze them because I know my bias might lead me to overlook the positive side of their arcs

Yes, Aoi and Akane’s relationship started out somewhat unhealthy because he was putting her on a pedestal and she kept him at a distance. And Akane’s aggressive method of handling their conflict in chapter 69 might raise a lot of red flags for some people, but keep in mind that he was literally trying to pull her out of an attempt, and Aoi drove a fucking hole through his stomach. I’m not that surprised that the same people who hate Akane for choking Aoi loooove Kou for force-feeding Mitsuba, and stan Aoi for slapping Teru. But omg the manga didn’t end after chapter 69. They had development, both as individual characters and as a relationship

You don’t have to ship them but don’t try to downplay their relationship in order to justify your opinion. I have plenty of ships that I can recognize work well in canon while still deciding they’re not my cup of tea. People will brag about shipping toxic pairings and then they can’t even handle a ship with, like, mild conflict that gets resolved through communication
