So my friend & I went to several stores in search of face paint to get ready for the nun II & when we finally found it the CVS was fully abandoned but we didn’t notice til we got all our stuff & the self check out had someone else’s total & we hit to request help & called out but there was not a soul around so after a while we just left & it was such a rush & now I’m literally like a child sipping my stolen wine & burning my stolen pumpkin spice candle giggling to myself like “hehe this stuff is stolen” 😂

🗨️ Seokjin’s childhood/school was just, ugh, I really felt heartache for thirteen year old Seokjin 🥹 So very common as a kid, to wish you’re older – and then it’s just not what he expected at all. I really loved it! There were a few times I was laughing so damn hard, times where I was shedding a few tears as well. Just, incredibly good; very well written, the story was captivating and motivating, just yeah, brilliant. (Sorry, I’m suddenly bad with words). I loved the ‘lessons’ he learned, and then having the luxury (I’m using that word because we don’t have that irl) of going back to his childhood (almost like starting over) and damn it was good 👏💯

The storyline/idea is really cute and fluffy, like who wouldn’t love that?? 😭 And as someone who wrote countless journals as a teen, this one just hits differently. It’s so cute and the concept is gold 💜 I really, really look forward to reading the next chapters and what Yoongi will uncover of OC through her journal. I have spend most of December being on holiday/time off, which gave me a lot of time to write my own stuff, which in the end gave me less time to read 😣 But it’s all good! I loved getting some stories and thoughts out of my head and now there’s space to read and obsess over other’s stories again 😀

Hi! So, I haven't seen a question about this, but soory if this was already asked. For now I only played with "I'm happy for them" option for our uncle and Jackal, but I feel like an option like "I'm really happy for them, but if something happens to Luca he's dead", you know? Worrying a little bit cause anything can happen in this life (Mc's mom said she loved Viktor but still abandoned us, in general there are a lot of.people out to get.us and etc), so I think some MC would try to give Jackal "the talk". Like, "look I'm happy for you two and you do look happy together, but I will hurt you if you hurt my uncle. Mark my words, I'll use everything at my disposal to hunt you down if you betray him." And etc. So the question is - how would Jackal react to this? How would Luca react to this is he overhears this/is told about this?

Also, a.little question. Maybe I'm just bad at reading and missed this in.the.text, but how does Ash feel about Luca and Jackal? I mean, they also were raised by.him and consider him family.

Sorry, another question. Can you.tell us more about Jackal? He knows at least a little bit of Russian, his name is Artyom and Luka calls him Tyoma, does this mean he got at.least some.roots in Russia or a post USSR country? What's his nationality/what nationalities is he "a mix" of? (Sorry, not sure if this is the correct term, English's not my first language). I would love to hear some.bits of information about him (how he met Luca and how did they hit this off, where's he from, how did he came into his profession and etc. I'd love to hear even about his favorite ice cream flavor, he is an absolute delight of a character).

Aww ☺️ I’m really glad that you’re loving Jackal! ❤️

For your first question, I wouldn’t be able to answer that because you’ll be able to give Jackal the shovel talk pretty soon in the story 😉 So, you’ll be able to see for yourself how he would react to that!

As for your second question, Ash is just mostly confused and also a little worried. They have heard the rumours spreading around about Luka seeing someone, but they thought they were merely that, rumours. But seeing that Luka is actually in a relationship makes them happy, but also worried, especially considering Jackal is a professional hitman. Ash really loves and cares for Luka; Luka has been a part of their life for a long time and he took them in and raised them and MC after both Viktor and Cara died. So, Ash also felt indebted and is very loyal to him and the family.

And you’re correct; Jackal/Artyom Zhang is half-Russian and half-Chinese (his mother was Russian and his father was Chinese), but he was born in China and grew up there for a while, so his nationality was Chinese. He’s pretty fluent in Russian, Chinese, and English.

He was the one who first sought out Luka not long after he stepped foot in Elysium City. He had been running away from home and moving from one place to the next trying to evade and shake off his pursuers for years and years, to no avail.

He was about to solemnly accept that running away and not staying in one place for long might be his sealed fate until he died, either from a job gone wrong or his pursuers finally catching up to him for real and execute him.

That was until a sympathetic fixer decided to tell him about the top of the food chain in Elysium City, the Morozov Family and suggested that he met with the head here, Luka, to ask or negotiate some kind of protection deal. The fixer also told him to speak in Russian when first introducing himself to Luka to gain as many points with Luka as possible 😂

The idea sounded crazy, but Jackal was desperate enough that he’d be willing to give it a shot. The only problem was how to even ask an audience with Luka? He was infamous for having little patience in listening other people’s—many of which are more influential than Jackal—petitions and was known to not be a pretty sociable man, only selectively choosing people to meet face-to-face with in a specific amount of time.

As to how Jackal actually pulled off meeting Luka in the first place, it’ll be a tale for another time 😄 But he actually did and they did strike a deal: Jackal is under the Morozov’s protection and in return, whenever Luka needs his hitman skills, he won’t be able to refuse taking the jobs.

Eventually, they actually got closer and got into a friends-with-benefits arrangement with Luka. As it went on, the both of them ended up with real romantic feelings for each other.

Luka fell really hard though 😆 Artyom also fell hard, but tried to play it off, deny it, or fight it off for the longest time until he finally can’t lie to himself anymore and caves in. Their date in Chapter 3 was really supposed to be their very first proper date as boyfriends 🥺

So, yeah, Luka and Jackal have known each other for quite a while, even though they just pretty recently gotten into a serious and steady relationship with one another.

Jackal becomes a professional hitman because killing people with his power has been what was trained and ingrained in him ever since he was young. It’s what he’s good at. And he basically needed to do something to get some money and survive while also running away from his pursuers not long after his mother’s death.

That’s all I can answer about Jackal’s backstory. You’ll be able to ask a little bit more stuff about him later on in his conversation. Although, he might not be 100% fully open to MC considering he has just met them. Although MC got special treatment for being Luka’s nephew/niece/nibling 😁 I also currently plan for one ‘hangout’ session with him and Luka that might reveal more about his backstory 😉

I saw somewhere during 17.06 when the yellow poster got published that someone was being delusional like yellow that’s the color of TLSP who’s in TLSP right Alex And Miles so so conclusion Miles is gonna be there, I mean it was a day too soon but still… being delusional paying off 🤣

Wearing brown leather jacket I love my guys but also please tell me he just quickly popped round to the store after the show for some booze or new cigs while they were celebrating together and didn’t just leave after the gig cause I couldn’t handle that

How Miles keeps looking at Alex and Alex keeps pointing at Miles and Alex stimming at the end and Alex’s full scrunchy face smile when Miles walks up to him and Miles smirk and the mic and and and I’m unter rot irrevocably besotted, how Miles just seamlessly fits in with the boys

I love that we know Miles and Al +monkeys had a very long night cause he posted at around midnight to his story and then nothing for fourteen hours till around 2 pm when the next 505 clips came 🥃 🍸 🍻

Star - Because he seems to lack the ability to stand-up for himself and/or be confrontational when need be, so I’m wondering if this is his indirect way of saying that. Not realizing the other implications./ This. I think he has a problem with confrontation. He doesn't know how to deal with it head on, so he makes jokes and parrgo comments. He tries to ignore but can't. Commenting on this fan post didn't help but at this point I'm not sure it could be made worse . He can't win no matter what

Anon 2: Have you considered that he is completely unrepentant for everything and sees everyone who criticizes him as the enemy? Because that’s what I think and I’m not angry either. I’m not bothering them online. It’s just depressing if he’s going to go down like that.

There's some valid discussions to be had from that post around whether people are holding him accountable or just straight up bullying him. However all that liking that post has done is fire up the fans who baby his every move. Now they'll claim they're the "true" fans if they never see the reality and just blindly defend him.

Anon 6: I get why y'all think he shouldn't have liked that post or featured it on his IG stories. However, I also get why he did it. It was a very thoughtful post, and as tired as we are, how tired must he be? Even if he turns it over to a professional, they're going to tell him, "Hey, Seb, you're being cancelled for the billionth time." So it's nice that he gets to see that some people are still kind and still like him. Some days it must feel horrible.

Anon 7: sorry i’m newer to this fandom — has he reposted fan accounts before as a way to “thank” them for defending him before? and it’s only made things worse? i’m getting more and more depressed the more i see if this fandom and it gave me some relief when i saw that he was at least seeing some of the more positive stuff, but now it seems like he just made the wrong choice?

Ruby Woo - anon 2, what should he be repentant about? Being papped on a yacht in Ibiza in the middle of a pandemic? Old news at this point. Nothing else he has done warrants the onslaught of hate he has received.

There is criticism and criticism but what is commented on his IG isn't criticism. It's just venom.

As for what you have all said, I would think and hope that his self-esteem wouldn't be dependent solely on his IG interactions. People will always love you or hate you, or even both at the same time, but you have to be aware of your self-worth. If you need a pick-me-up, chat to your pals, open up to your therapist, have sex with your girlfriend! Replying to a fan just incites the lovers-vs-haters debate even more and causes everyone on both sides to keep at it in the hopes of catching his attention.

8. Which character(s) do you find easiest to write?

I’d have to say Robin.  Quirky, laidback older woman who tries to be a supportive wife, a cool mom, and a loyal friend and not letting her age hold her back from what she wants to do?  Yes.  Yes to all of this. 😂 I pour a lot of myself into many of the characters I write for, but probably the most for Robin.  The way I depict her is how I hope to be when I’m older and my daughter is grown.  She is my ultimate mom goals and the character I find myself projecting onto the most.

21. Favorite pairing to write for? (platonic or romantic!)

Ooooof, this is such a hard question!  As much as I love writing for Harvey/May, and I really do, I really have to hand it to Harvey and Harold! XD My god, their relationship is just SO much fun and has SO much depth to it!  It can be fun, dramatic, cursed, heartbreaking, light-hearted and everything in-between, there’s just so many layers to their relationship.  They play very well off of each other and the potential with them is limitless.  Plus, I’m always a sucker for family dynamics and there’s no better opportunity for family dynamics than with these two idiots.  I love them so much. 😭

27. What’s the nicest comment you’ve ever received?

This is another tough one, the SDV community is just SO NICE and supportive!  I’ve received so many wonderful comments since I’ve been writing for SDV, each one means so much to me.  It’s nothing specific, but any time someone comments support after a chapter is literally a big damn hero in my book.  For authors only part-way through a WIP who have been posting their progress as they go along, every chapter feels like another lap in a marathon that you have no clue when it will end and it’s exhausting.  I can tell you right now with certainty, even just a short “oh wow, great chapter!  Can’t wait to find out what happens next!” will bring an author to near-tears.  Just to know that someone out there is still reading, someone out there still cares, and someone out there is wishing you luck to continue... omg, the motivation that comes from that is unimaginable.  They say to always write for yourself and not for others, but when you know you have the support of others just because someone commented their interest... boy, does that give all the validation in the world.

Though sidenote (and I know this answer is long, sorry!) this isn’t so much a “nice” comment as much as it is one that literally brought me to tears.  I will NEVER forget the comment I received from a social worker regarding the fact that my Harvey is an orphan, telling me that my story had caused them to stop and think about how they act/speak to the children they serve and that they will make it a point to tell those children how much they are loved all as a result of my story.  I’m actually close to tears just thinking about it, I will never forget that comment as long as I live.

Would it have made Azula a foil to Zuko? Or Katara a foil to Zuko? I’m guessing you mean Azula since she’d be getting a scar, another parallel among many to her brother.

I think regardless the narrative no matter what remains pretty clear that Azula & Katara are foils to each other.

Azula & Katara are both the prodigy younger sisters of their less talented but still hard working older brothers causing some family tension but Katara & Sokka communicate clearly & have a loving relationship while Azula & Zuko’s rivalry drives them to their tragic final battle. Katara & Azula both have absent mother figures & father figured embroiled by the war effort but Katara confronts her father for his absence during a lot of her life & has a touching moment while Azula is left behind by her father in the end as he pursues power over connection with her.

I don’t think that Katara scarring Azula would change that. If anything it adds poetry just like the final Agni Kai did - the only one who can take Azula down is her narrative foil, the water to her fire.

But in terms of how it would mirror Zuko’s scar? How it would impact the parallels between the fire siblings? And both of their parallels with Katara? Interesting question.

I’m imagining a scene now with Azula & Zuko talking & discussing their facial scars. Imagine it’s post war & Azula is working on healing & it’s a slow process but she’s getting there.

Azula would have a different relationship to her scar than Zuko does with his because the circumstances are so different. Zuko was publicly humiliated & disfigured by his own father for speaking out. In a scenario where Katara scarred Azula during the crystal catacombs fight, it was two equals battling at war. And huh, I don’t know exactly how significant it would be for that to happen right after Katara offered to heal Zuko’s scar with the spirit water but like, that HAS to be significant right? Idk.

I imagine post war Zuko would make a comment about how they both have scars now. And maybe Azula would say something quietly about how her real scars from the war aren’t visible & Zuko would think about that later, as it sunk in…

Anyway.

I think that if this had happened it would have been significant, because scars are always significant in stories especially battle scars. And I think that because of the importance to Zuko of his scar, it would have maybe given him & Azula something to connect over post war, even if it’s very different.

I also wonder how a scar would impact the value that Azula places on appearance post war? Especially after the fiasco with her #breakdown haircut tm & her future relationship with mirrors? Maybe she has to detach herself from caring so much about appearances?
