One of these landed on my fyp on TT and I ended up watching a bunch of them so I present some headcanons for rap battles between The Boys and Supes.

Billy Butcher vs. Homelander

Homelander uses his public persona the whole time—smiling, chuckling, just having a good time

It’s a Victorian AU where these two are anything but repressed. Rey is fairly innocent, but she’s all too eager to rectify that, and her fiancee Ben is thrilled to help. 😏

Paint it Black by @quixoticlux . Artist Liason! Rey is determined to procure a piece from Reclusive Artist! Kylo Ren, so she shows up his doorstep on Halloween. Sparks fly, and let’s just say that candy isn’t the only thing that they end up eating. (Sorry, I had to. 😂) This fic is hot AF. Come for the delicious smut, stay for the phenomenal writing, humor, and feels.

The Empress by @delia-pavorum. Empress Rey / Renperor one shot. Anyone who follows me knows how much Iove my dear Delia’s writing, but she really spoiled me with this one. 😍 Her Dark Reylo is superb: it feels so true to how they would play off one another as co-rulers. Her Badass! Empress Rey is to die for, and the ending will make you drool. 🔥

Until You by @ever-so-reylo. A/B/O one shot. I’m a huge Ever-so stan (to put it mildly), and this fic honestly might be my favorite of hers. 😍 In addition to her A+ writing, smut, and world building, it combines all of my dark + light kinks: Dark Reylo but also Soft! Reylo; Power Imbalanced! yet also Equals! Reylo; Possessive / Dom / Dark! Ben yet also Soft Devoted! Ben; Protective! Ben;  loss of virginity kink; pregnancy kink..🤤 SO. GOOD. 

Currently Reading (WIPs)

Category 4 by @monsterleadmehome. TL; DNR version: thanks to a hurricane, Rey and Ben get stranded together and get their bang on. 😂 There’s so much to love here- the smut is Grade A (and nonstop), but it’s also so witty, tongue in cheek, and sweet, too- everything I know and love about my girl’s writing. 😍

Ceremony by @quixoticlux -This fic combines a dozen of my favorite tropes into a glorious whole: forced bonding / mating; soulmates; f*ck or die; Possessive! Ben; Dark! Reylo; Soft! Reylo; Badass Partners! Reylo; Reylo comforting each other; Protective! Ben; stranded on a planet together, etc. The Reylo dynamic is incredible-- fiery and passionate, soft and gentle, and possessive and consuming all in one. It’s so good. READ IT.

Death or Surrender by fullofstarlight. I will never be able to get enough of Ben- convinces-Rey-to-join-the-FO canonverse fics. This fic is so well-written and doesn’t shy away from the implications of this plot. Ben is desperate and  possessive, and although Rey is deeply torn and conflicted, she can’t resist. I love a good “Kylo wins” fic.. what can I say. 😏 

Down an Inch, Up an Inch by @newerconstellations. A/B/O. This fic has done the impossible and given me a fitness kink. 😂 If you would like to 1) be set on fire with 4 chapters of extremely hot heat / rut smut; 2) enjoy the softest, most tender Reylo dynamic; and 3) explore complex issues like consent within the context of murky tropes like A/B/O and soul bonds, and come out empowered and on top (pun intended), read this fic. It’s amazing!!

Hallowed Heat by @gopherbroke. A/B/O. Alpha! Ben has a young son; Omega! Rey is his babysitter. Ben is determined to resist her, but they find themselves in quite the predicament when she forgets to take suppressants one day on an outing. Guys, this fic is hot AF. I nearly burst into flames this last chapter. 🔥🔥

Head Over Feet by @ever-so-reylo- the fake dating trope, EVER-SO-REYLO STYLE. This fic is so f*cking funny, you guys. I literally burst out laughing at the first chapter. It’s full of the Ever-so goodness we know and love- awkward yet hilarious situations, steamy sexual tension, heart-melting Reylo moments, and two nerds who are totally oblivious to how in love they are-- but are sure to bone and figure it out. 😉 

Hieros Gamos by @reyloisblessed. The tags say it all: Dark Kylo Ren, Monster Kylo Ren, Possessive Kylo Ren, Lovecraftian. Um, HELL YES. Not to mention that this talented Reylo is a seriously gifted writer. We’re only one chapter in, but I already know I’m going to love this fic. It’s dreamy, immersive, and alternates between sensual / erotic and thrilling / terrifying. 👀👌

Kiss Me Back to Life by @strawberrycupcakehuckleberrypie. A post-TLJ mini fic where Rey finds and heals Ben after he has been ousted from the FO.  Everything Berry writes is amazing, but her beautifully soft, loving, caretaking canonverse Reylo really struck a chord with me. 😭 She gets Canon Reylo, and the dynamic she creates is all I want for our bbs- it’s what they need and deserve. Smut is up next, so buckle in. 😋

Little Thieves by @ohwise1ne. A/B/O. Omega! Rey gets way more than she bargained for when she breaks into Alpha! Kylo’s home on a Resistance mission, and finds herself intoxicated and immobilized by his scent. What happens when he gets home, I wonder?! Let’s just say that this fic puts a whole new meaning to the phrase “breaking and entering.” 😏 It’s super hot. 

Marked for Death by @ashesforfoxes - if you’ve ever imagined what Canon Reylo would be like in a true A/B/O setting, read this fic. There’s bold and immersive world building here- it fully embraces the wolfish elements of A/B/O. Her writing and pacing are superb, but the Reylo dynamic is my favorite part of this fic. They're enemies to lovers, soul bonded, and conflicted about their irresistible pull to one another. Rey’s Omega designation in no way detracts from her power and agency. And although an Alpha, Ben recognizes their equality, and lets Rey dictate how they progress. There’s awesome smut, too. 👌

Parasite by @avidvampirehunter - Deliciously dark A/B/O with Vampire! Kylo and Werewolf! Rey. This hits on so many of my kinks, (mating, loss of virginity, Possessive! Ben), and she’s an extraordinary writer. (Just read it and see. Her fic Glory’s Fray is excellent, too!) She may write more depending on reader reception, so please join me and beg her in the comments!! 🙏

She Walks Like Beauty in the Night by @quixoticlux. This fic is a collision of my biggest kinks and faves: a Jane Eyre AU (!!), A/ B/O, Byronic! Ben, AND my dear @quixoticlux‘s incredible writing. 😍 It’s off to a fantastic start: her prose is gorgeous and immersive, and the Gothic tone and setting is an instant fave- it’s foreboding, dark, and sexy. If The Matrix is real, I want to request @quixoticlux as my programmer. 😂 I want to live in her fics!!

Stay Hungry by @jeenonamit- A/B/O; Academia AU; enemies to lovers. I freak out every time this fic updates. It’s so much more than smut- the writing is fantastic, there’s humor, excellent plot, and rewarding emotional development in which these two “adversaries” gradually fall head over heels for each other. But luckily for us, it’s an A/B/O too, and so we get delicious smut from the get go. Guys, this fic is SO. FREAKING. HOT. It’s seriously a babymaker. 😂 The airport scene is one of the hottest I’ve read. Read it and thank me later. 

On My “To Read” List

Doing the Unstuck by @slipgoingunder. A modern When Harry Met Sally AU (Harry= Rey, Sally= Ben). You may know her for her fantastic reviews of Reylo fics, but I’ve heard the best things about her own writing. I’ve heard this fic is hilarious, deliciously smutty, clever, and subversive. I can’t wait to dig in!! 👌

Dystopia by @cosmo-gonika. A dark cyberpunk AU. The concept for this fic sounds amazing- a dystopian futuristic setting? Hell yes!! And I adore her writing and the fiery and sexy yet soft Reylo dynamic she writes. (Her other fic, Songs, is a personal fave!). I know this one is gonna be good. 😍

Gimme Gimme (A Dad After Midnight) by @reylolujah This is the Mama Mia! AU that we all need in our lives, but the bonus subverted version where Ben is Sophie! @reylolujah is one of the wittiest, funniest Reylos I know (and a lovely writer too), so I know she’s going to nail this one. I can’t wait to read!! 

Sunshine State by @strawberrycupcakehuckleberrypie. A growing-up-together high school AU (rated Teen for now; smut to come later). This fic is the 100% pure Reylo sweetness I need in my life to balance out some of the darker stuff I read, and I love Berry’s writing. This is at the top of my list! 😍 

The Lionness by @lilia-ula. Vampire! Kylo turns his new bride into a vampire on their wedding night. I’m a big fan of this writer: I adore her Dark Reylo and decadent writing and smut. I’m sure this one delivers on all three. 👀👌

No Smut (but 100% worth the read) 

The Ocean Filled the Crater by @creationsvixen. a canon-compliant one-shot that explores what might happen in Reylo’s first Force Bond connection after TLJ. Ben gets momentarily sucked into Rey’s world, and although they spar, we ultimately see their emotions and longing for one another laid fully bare, like an exposed nerve. It’s beautiful and heartbreaking. I live and die for the angst! 😭

Dramione

I’m including this because there seems to be a good bit of overlap between Dramiones and Reylos. The ships and characters are quite different, but both feature a strong, powerful girl of lower status + a dark, tortured boy of higher status (and in need of redemption).

I actually was a Dramione ages ago (I’ve always been a sucker for enemies to lovers. 😏), but forgot about it after HP 7 came out. But in the last few weeks, that’s all changed: I’ve fallen hard for a couple of Dramione fics by  @senlinyuwrites. (who has written excellent Reylo fics, too! See here and here).

I was totally averse to reading a non-Reylo fic at first. However, thanks to @ever-so-reylo, the best / worst influence ever, and the corrupting influence of other besties in my Discord chat, I caved. And I’m so glad I did. 

I now get why people follow certain writers from fandom to fandom. @senlinyuwrites is unreal. She’s easily one of the best authors I’ve come across. Her fics I’m obsessed with are: 

All You Want- A/B/O. The smut is ridiculously hot and plentiful in this fic. It features a fascinating AU (Omegas are very rare and drive Alphas into frenzied competition), Possessive but also Soft Alpha! Draco, Sassy and Strong! Omega Hermione, and lots of pining and miscommunication amidst all the boning. You can’t help but root for these love struck idiots to cough up and admit their feelings. 

Manacled- Dark Handmaid’s Tale AU where Voldemort won. It’s light on smut (for now)-- it’s heavy material (mind the tags). I know it sounds very dark (and it is), but suffice it to say that things are not what they appear to be between Draco and Hermione. I can’t remember being this invested in a fic in a long time. I’m in awe of its intricate plot- it’s a vast mystery that is still unraveling. But it’s really the relationship between Draco and Hermione that murders me and keeps me begging for more. Their backstory and unfolding relationship is poignant and incredibly moving. This fic will leave a mark on you, and you will thank the author for it. Trust me.
