Cyberpunk RED: How to Save a Life

"My name's Avery, I'm a netrunner."

Cyberpunk RED-era Data Entry, using default Photo Mode frames and backgrounds.

Yesterday I revealed Avery Greer, an FIA netrunner. She's cynical, possibly clinically depressed (my notes say that she's pathologically unable to smile) and desires change in her life. She has already decided that her future does not involve the NUSA or the FIA. She may already have plans in motion to engineer her escape.

She works under a senior FIA agent named Hunter 'Bishop' Wilkes. Bishop is ride-or-die for the NUSA and has already been betrayed by a netrunner before (their AV was hacked by a netrunner who made a covert deal with an African militia to hand over FIA secrets in exchange for safe passage to Nairobi, and from Nairobi to Luna). He already suspects that her change in behaviour could be a prelude to betrayal, and already has her under close watch.

You're gonna see more of her.

Another day, another pic in the screamsheets of So Mi living her best life in NC with Vega (this displeases Myers).

In 2078, Dorian Bautista (y'know, Dorian, the former corpo, turned fixer, then rockerboy) founded a band named Bakeneko ("Changed Cat"). They originally were a Samurai cover band, but something was off about their sound.

Then V came back... well, kinda. Vega's technically genetically 33% Johnny Silverhand and is a hybrid consciousness, but one with all of Johnny's memories and skills, as well as perfect knowledge of every SAMURAI song. Dorian reached out, and after some slightly mocking encouragement from Johnny, Vega joined Bakeneko and became the band's frontwoman.

In mid-2079, Bakeneko signed on with Silverhand Studios. While they still do SAMURAI covers, Vega (and by proxy, Johnny) and Dorian are working on an original EP, due to come out in 2080. Rumours that Kerry Eurodyne will appear in one of the songs are currently unconfirmed by N54 News.

MR BLUE EYES INTERROGATES AN FIA ASSASSIN

Warning: the following story references torture

The agent sat in the darkened room, his face and chest bloody. Electrodes were still attached to the more sensitive parts of his chest and torso. A black-uniformed soldier with blue glowing techgogs threw a bucket of icy water over the agent. He yelped as the ice pelted his bruised and bloodied skin, "Wake the fuck up, fedscum!"

"What the fuck do you want!?" screamed the agent, "just tell me what you want! I'll tell you anything! Just make it stop!"

A man stepped into the room, temporarily blinding the agent as the light of the hallway blasted into the room. He turned to the soldier, his blue eyes glowing in the darkness, "That'll be all."

"Sir."

Mr Blue Eyes circled the FIA agent, "Who was your target?"

"It was a traitor."

Mr Blue Eyes produced a stun baton, and without a second thought, drove the baton into the man's ribs. He cried in pain as electricity coursed through his vulnerable flank, "Specifics, please, Mr Jordan."

"It... her name is Song So Mi. She attempted to kill President Myers. There's a one million eddie bounty on her head."

He nodded, putting the baton back on the tool bench, "See, you can be cooperative... I'm going to let you go, Mr Jordan. In a few hours, you'll be back in Langley, no doubt being treated by the FIA's best medtechs."

"W-what?"

"But not without conditions," Mr Blue Eyes told him, kneeling and grabbing the man by the jaw so his eyes met the agent's, "You'll be sending Ms. Myers a message. Night City is off limits to the NUSA, and by extension, so are Song So Mi and Vega Hawse. If me, or my associates, find your agency operating in our city again, and especially if we find you harassing them, there will be consequences."

"A-are you nuts? Myers will never listen to that!"

Mr B shrugged, "You can take a horse to water, but you can't make it drink, Mr Jordan. All you need to do is deliver the message to the FIA, and you'll be home free. Do we have an accord?"

Jordan bowed his head, "Fine."

Mr B turned to the soldier, "Find this man some clothes and bring him to NCX. He has a flight to catch back to Washington."

"Yes, sir."

If your WIP was a video game, what type of game would it be?

as a certified Game Enthusiast™️ (according to my friends), I won't allow myself the benefit of going typical RPGs for both Den and Witch because I love talking about games and I'd like to think I'm well-versed enough to think of cool game ideas and RPG is an incredibly broad term that can mean Animal Crossing or Digimon Cyber Sleuth or Lego Batman 3.

a top-down hack'n'slash game akin to Unsighted and Hades. I'd say more like Unsighted since this wouldn't be a roguelike. there would definitely be Metroidvania elements because exploration and attaining character abilities is awesome. plus having bosses you can challenge out of order or straight up ignore is always fun. I'd also say that you'd play the game as a pair (Mara and Aliah) and you can switch which of them you'd like to play as but also there's also parts where you're locked into one.

Memories with the Witch |

likely a life management sim with RPG elements. think Stardew Valley and Rune Factory type games. newer examples include the Atelier series and Moonlighter (but it's also a roguelike). the main game loop would be like Stardew or Moonlighter where you do daily business things and use the rest of the time for other things you wanna do. roguelike/roguelite features might be cool since Lyzandir can fulfill that role, but it's iffy if I want it to be more like a life sim. it's also kind of hard to incorporate all the characters because so much time passes, so I'd need to focus either on Lyzandir's time (more life sim) or Lucille's time (more action RPG)

WIP Intro: Memories with the Witch

"Family... I'm not sure. I know I have one, but it's fuzzy. I don't know if they're even still alive."

Title (Tentative): Memories with the Witch

Genres/Themes: fantasy, slice of life, kinda-romance?, short chapters, D&D-inspired, found family

Status: Ongoing!

Synopsis:

Lyzandir has dealt with his poor memory for as long as he can remember. Just today, his best friend gifted him a journal to keep track of things, like how he stumbled upon a witch in the forest. The two set off to recollect his lost memories. Despite finally doing so, nothing changes.

And so Lyzandir continues his days alongside the witch.

I don't remember if I ever showed or sent anything on Tumblr, so prepare for some info dumping.

Back in November of 2019 I started a little "ASMR" (kinda, not really)/audio series on my Youtube channel called Exiled. It was six episodes long, with the last episode posted in May of this year. Exiled is about four rulers who were thrown into political conflict after a mysterious merchant managed to catch the attention of one of the queens. Suffice to say... it doesn't go well. Here's the entire playlist if you want to see for whatever reason (it's old af-):

However early this year I made the choice to try and reboot the series with a more typical audio drama format and tell the events as they play out, rather than the perspective stories abiut a past even like the original videos.

The pics shown below are the main five characters of this story. The pics are the top part are the old art I made in 2019 (with Mara, aka the last one, being made in late 2020/early 2021) and the bottom ones being the updated designs. The first being the five as their original designs during the events, and the second one in their reincarnated forms (which I will get into later).

Camp WonderDream: Temple Trouble

Field Trips were always a given at any summer camp, whether it was to a museum, an aquarium, or a zoo. But at Camp WonderDream, field trips were ANYTHING but ordinary. And this one is no exception!

"Alright everybody!! Let's go!" Balan crowed as the Counselors lead the children to the amphitheater. The campers talked excitedly among themselves as they wondered where they were off to this time. "Are we going go Christmas Rose Park again?" Leo asked. Haoyu shook his head "Nope! We're going somewhere new! The field Trips are ALWAYS exciting! Last year we went to this place called Repugia" He explained.

Leo gave him a unsure look and rose his eyebrows, there was no way that was possible...but then again, half of the Counselors were magic beings, and there were in a camp in another dimension, so he shouldn't doubt too much. "This field trip will be a doozy! We're going to the Temple of Mara!" Balan cheered as he struck a pose. The children got curious. "Um...Mr Balan? What's that?" Yinu asked.

The Counselor beamed at her "I'm glad you asked Yinu! It's this mysterious temple that me and NiGHTS found! Inside, anyone who goes in, finds themselves gifted with one of three things! Golden treasures, eternal youth, or visions of the future!" He explained. The campers then went nuts, stating that THEY wanted to be young forever, or see the future. "Now Now everyone, settle down, I do need to go over the rules now." He said, making a image of a huge, ominous looking bust of a person appear.

"Now then children, there is a statue inside of the temple in a hall named the 'Hall of Promise' and it is ABSOLUTELY important that no one. And I mean it, NO ONE looks into the idol's eyes. Not even for a split second. And I've taken every possible precaution to make sure of that." Balan explains, as the other Counselors hand out blindfolds, mirrors, and VERY opaque glasses. "As soon as we get into the hall, everyone is to put on the blindfolds, or look into the mirror and walk backwards towards the idol." He explained.

Leo began to look uneasy, why was it so important to NOT look into the eyes of the idol? 'Maybe I can sit is out at camp...' He though as he slowly snuck away from the amphitheater...only to be stopped by Sundrop "Where ya goin Sunspot?" He asked. Leo stepped back from him "I'm going back to my bunk...I don't do well doozies of a field trip." He said, walking around the robot. Sundrop grabbed around his waist "Sorry Leo! You can wait on the outside if you wish!" He said, carrying him back to the ground, where Balan had opened a big portal with a large temple seen on the other side.

"Let's us go!! It's time to venture into the temple!!"

scrunkly (my “baby”, character that gives me cuteness aggression, character that is So Shaped): I mean, baby yoda, or "action snacking grogu" as hasbro would like for me to refer to him as, well, he is baby after all

scrimblo bimblo (underrated/underappreciated fave): Ventress! also Hera! Qira! the list goes on

glup shitto (obscure fave, character that can appear in the background for 0.2 seconds and I won’t shut up about it for a week) do you remember when Rukh showed up in rebels? I remember when he showed up in rebels. also mon mothma, breha organa, rose tico in anything after TLJ....

poor little meow meow (“problematic”/unpopular/controversial/otherwise pathetic fave): this one is also kylo ren. are you sad you ever became friends with me.

horse plinko (character I would torment for fun, for whatever reason) : those fucking droids in the endlessly long droid arc of season 5 of clone wars, waste my time 2012

I preferred reading EU that were temporally not that long after the movies so I never really knew Ben Skywalker or Allana Solo that well, but what little I read of them I liked pretty well, but it's hard to mess with the originals, as disney has discovered. honestly I maybe reading this question far too literally but come on, it's me

scrimblo bimblo: I think as dope and rad as thrawn is, Pellaeon does not get the credit he deserves. he's a good watson!

Fun (?) Facts About My WIP Pics:

1. First photo and second photos are crops from photo shoots I did in 2014 and 2012. Particularly fond of the 2012 smoking in an alley shoot.

2. Third photo is a cropped self portrait I took when I was 17. My lipstick was the brightest red.

3. Fourth photo is a cropped one from a shoot I did of my ex. He's a heroin addict and I base some of Timmy's situations on him.

But not his personality whatsoever (criminal court begins today for his domestic violence charges. He wouldn't plead guilty and I'm not attending court at all).

4. Streets of Chicago. I took an impulsive 8 to 10 hour road trip with an ex girlfriend. Why'd taken a 10 hour road trip to visit me. It was wonderful and we're good friends.

Edit: I also have photos of the studio apartment that inspired Mara's studio. It's an amazing place.
