how have I never talked about Frypan and Gally before

oh my god I have typed and discarded so many drafts talking about this to the point where I literally forgot that I've never posted something talking about it

listen listen. In the books, Newt tells Thomas that most Gladers take on more than one job. And I always wondered what Frypan did when he wasn't cooking..

and for some reason I figured he'd be a Builder.. He develops his own cooking recipes and loves fiddling around with different ideas, testing out measurements and quantities of ingredients and different flavors etc. etc.

He'd fit right in as a (part-time) Builder

His and Gally's relationship was mostly inspired when I rewatched Maze Runner. Gally storms off, and Frypan grabs his arm and goes, "Gally.." to which Gally shakes him off with, "Nah, Fry." He leaves, and Frypan chases after him. That one single moment implies so much ohmygod-

Look as a tutor I support and love individual teachers I just have a healthy suspicion towards the Institution

I really enjoyed that one episode of Bunsen Is a Beast ("Mikeyplication") where Mikey made a bunch of clones to run all the clubs he was president of so he could do other things...

... and he sent a clone to run his conspiracy theory club.

Yeah, that didn't go well and it's one of the funniest set-ups of a joke I've ever seen.

#i do have a conspiracy theory about how he was raised but i don't know if his parents ever get talked about #i think that guy was abused basically..#i also think he's brilliant but his unhealthy coping mechanisms hold him back #i'm not sure how he could clean up his act though because japan's mental health resources seem so bad..😭#kogoro mouri #dcmk #he's so good at researching; like conan makes fun of him for making little cheat sheets and not just remembering stuff but NOT EVERYBODY #HAS ENCYCLOPEDIC MEMORY LIKE YOU LITTLE DUDE #research was harder in the 90s and he puts a lot of work into compiling reliable info on pretty obscure/specific topics #he's also fantastic at poking holes in other detectives' theories #he makes certain their reasoning is air tight by making them find evidence to support nearly every claim they make #it may or may not be on purpose but it ends up helpful either way #it can seem like he's getting in the way but finding flaws in the reasoning is so important #he does have a tendency to look at things from a psychological perspective (instead of a physical evidence one) and can fill in conan's #blind spots #he also reminds me of my mom because he's a P.I. and a natural marksman :>

my mum likes to do this thing where she'll say "you're an adult now so you can make your own choices and if you disagree with me or your dad on our decisions you can tell us"

but the moment I say "hey. I want to take a gap/break year from uni to get myself in order and build the skills I need and recover from the last few years of everything"
