hi my friend sent me bitter snow to read and i consumed all of it in three days and have a head FULL of rot now and ive never seen the damn show its based on, but im like 90% afraid it won't be nearly as good since im horribly obsessed w your writing and horror and imagery. anyways! thank you for writing my newest brainworms obsession i can't wait to start on the sequel!!

AS FOR. TTS ITSELF, it is. well it’s a disney princess cartoon hdkfhdjkd bitter snow is largely an exercise in taking the good bits and stringing them along a narrative spine that 1. is character-driven and tightly plotted vs the loose episodic structure endemic to disney television, 2. focuses on underutilized characters/concepts to help pull disparate threads together (canon!caine is in all of three episodes and the separatists literally only appear in two FOR EXAMPLE), and 3. caters to my Particular Taste hence all the wild magic and fantasy religion and demon shenanigans going on lmao

BUT it’s a fun watch and there’s a bunch of individual episodes that are just, stupidly good, and the animation is gorgeous and the music slaps, so,
