This is actually the third draft I've made; I may or may not go back to the other ones, but right now I need a little break from drawing him. In spite of how much I love this character, he isn't very fun to draw for me, anymore. Maybe my standards are a bit too high, I reckon...

The clothes he's wearing are based off a poster from a magazine called Animedia, from August of 2015. It's (I think) a promotional image for the 3DS game; it also features Lupin (hence why I'm lead to believe as much). We don't see this kid in casual clothes hardly at all outside of magazine illustrations, so I decided to pick something I had a decent visual reference for and model after it. Why are sleeveless hoodies a thing? Sure it looks comfy, but just, why?? Jack is like the second anime dude I've seen wearing one (the other being Deku).

Hopefully someday I can get back to drawing more polished things! Sometimes I just have to be done with a piece. I went a little experimental on this one. I think it looks alright.

Hey does anyone still think about the thematic differences between Supernatural and the Wayward Sisters and how self-isolating male hunters are compared to community-building female hunters and how this was shown from the Harvelles to even arguably Missouri Mosely and even Samuel Campbell who is his daughter's father almost more than a man himself (especially in Season 6) is not immune to this?

And how the Wayward Sisters could have been built not on sacrificing yourself to this singular all-consuming relationship with your brother and sacrificing yourself for the world second or in name only, but instead on what it takes to cut yourself into useful and digestible pieces for the sake of keeping your place in that community because you're almost certain that it's This Community or Solitude Forever (Alex you can never escape the life no matter how much you don't want it you've gotta pitch in do you want your family to die on this hunt Claire you know you'll never find anyone to love you unless you make yourself softer and then are they really loving you are you even worthy of love anymore Jody your husband and son would still be alive if you listened and learned you can't lose another child in every sense you can't quite let your children be defenseless children either and you know so well how sick this fear makes you and how you're dealing with it the wrong way your son got to be a child but your daughters can't be that vulnerable Even Donna you have Your Role to play here you're not good enough as a hunter but you're funny and happy and you don't take up that much space so that's exactly how much space you're given to exist in).

Under the cut are mostly self-insert doodles of decreasing quality. Again, not much directly tied to Team Fortress 2. Might as well toss these out while I have no access to my puter. Much yapping under the cut and in the tags incoming.

Another self-insert, this time less of a "here's me as a tenth class" and more of a "here's my game experiences translated into the class I would take the place of". The Cleaner. Although I guess they could still be wearing either suit. It doesn't matter that much.

That one Convict's Case taunt with Backup would be extremely funny, because the man would be on the verge of a breakdown (he does not want to go to jail so bad you have no idea). The second image- I owe no explanation. You know what I am. You see the pattern with my favourites.

Some doodles of trying to figure his face out. Unfortunately, the more I stare at him, the more I worry that he looks like A Certain Guy With The Last Name "Kazarin", and the fear of never being original in my life caught up to me.

I think it's hilarious how Suzanne Collins has such vibrant, deep characters but we only get useful descriptions of some of them. Like, we know every inch of Ripred, it's clear that she knew excatly what that dreamy beast was supposed to look like, but there's absolutely no consensus on the bats, especially Ares. My writers' group and I have been trying desperately to figure out just how big the bats are, but there's not a lot to go off of. Their carrying capacity is important for all the logistics, but weather they can carry a whole boat or just three kids and a cockroach is always up in the air. It doesn't help that Ares, the one we get to see the most of, is just legendarily jacked. He can carry a whole ass Ripred (who again, we have clear descriptions of, he's six feet tall and jacked to hell and back as well). So okay, got it, the bats are huge as well, but then we get all these descriptions of them just vibing in enclosed spaces, and when Ares gets arrested it only takes two people to carry him to trial. Are the Regalians just also incredibly jacked? How many body builders are there down here? We also just never get to know what kind of bat Ares (or any of the other fliers for that matter) is. It really is just left up to the artist's interpretation. There's cover art of him as a microbat, a flying fox, some weird amalgamation of both... there are no wrong answers. I love seeing all the fanart here because we can't agree either so we just get a big buffet of different beautiful bats to look at.

The only concrete bat descriptions we get are that they all have bright, vibrant, and diverse warrior-cats OC pelts. You got your adorable tabby bats, your zebra bats, evil red bats, and edgy loner black bats.

tav shri’iia is THE canon for me obvi but I also really like the idea of tav wren with yves still being part of the dead three as bhaal’s chosen. the thing with wren is that he was yves’ childhood friend who was pursuing his bard career and severely flopping. one night when he was supposed to escort yves home from the graveyard he chose to perform in some tavern instead, and that night is when the bhaalists came and killed her. for him, one of his closest friends just went missing the night he was supposed to look after her, and when she returns 2 weeks later all beaten up and bloody with no memory of herself ofc he felt guilty….! and he couldn’t even bear to look at her because it’s all his fault u know … if only he didn’t ditched her maybe this wouldn’t have happened so one night he just decides to leave bc he couldn’t take it anymore. it’s always been his dream to be a travelling bard anyway and maybe his career will pick up in some other city than baldur’s gate, so he leaves her and his home and sets out to salvage what he can of his career. and in the most part he was mildly successful. he also ends up making a pact with some fae and they help with his bard career too lol but the guilt of yves is still in his mind- he just got better at ignoring it.

SO. imagine his surprise when he gets tadpoled and goes to moonrise to find a cure and he sees his friend - the girl that’s been haunting his dreams and the source of his guilt and shame - a part of the evil cult that’s been enslaving people with parasites. and now he’s meant to kill her? but how could he when he’s the one who left her behind and maybe it’s his fault that she turned out like this … but anyway I love the idea of wren being like noooo that’s NOT yves she would never do that!! and they’re just like girl ur delusional ur friend is literally chopping people up forcing us to find the parts like some treasure hunt
