Confetti on The Carpet
( Fiddleford McGucket x reader || he has a surprise for you ♡ I couldn't find a good quality picture of him for the life of me I am sorry anon 😭 )
Tumblr media
You open your door to find Fiddleford holding... something behind his back.
"Honey, what is this?" You look down at the box in his hand, equal parts curious, equal parts cautious. You smile to yourself, preparing for whatever he is going to give you.
Fiddleford had a tendency to show his appreciation through gifts. Whether that be oddly specific machines, to things that reminded him of you. He once gave you a bandaid he found on the floor because, in his words, you "always knew how to put him back together."
"A surprise, hon." He replies, fighting the urge to smile. "You mind lettin' me in? Don't want anybody else to see this thang besides you. Your eyes only, y'know. Confidential stuff.”
"Confidential stuff?" You repeat, somewhat more worried about the state your dorm would be in after this. "Nothin' that's gonna explode or anything like that. Trust me." He chuckles, eyes crinkling as he laughs.
You wouldn't say it out loud, but hearing the way Fiddleford laughed always let your guard down. You step aside to let him in, closing the door behind him. You notice the box in his hands wasn't as big as you imagined. It wasn't making any humming sounds either.
"Remember when you showed me that ad ya saw in the paper? The one about the icemaker that couldn't be shipped here 'cause we don't got the money?"
"And also because the Dean is an ass about international shipping." You add, wondering to yourself where he was going with this. "And yes, I do remember."
"Well, guess what I got for ya in here." Fiddleford couldn't hide his laughter to himself, he was giggling now, sounding as if he were proud of whatever he put inside the box he held out with his hand.
"Go on, open it." He says, tempting your curiosity.
You take the box from his hand, feeling the weight of its contents. It was light. Was he joking with you, or did he actually make something? Fiddleford always liked making excuses to see you. It gave him time off of working on equations when he didn't feel like quadruple checking them.
Sitting on the carpet, you pat a spot across from you for Fiddleford to sit down. You grab a pillow from your bed for him to sit on. You knew how much he complained about back pain. At the age where he shouldn't even have back pain.
"Thank you, honey." He uses the pet name like it was your actual name, holding his lower back as he sits down.
You tug on the ribbon that held the box together. The box quickly comes apart.
You almost jump out of your seat on the floor when confetti practically explodes out of a compartment on one of the box's walls. "What the hell?!" You exclaim with a laugh, making Fiddleford clutch his stomach in laughter.
"Gah- I knew you'd fall for that!" He snorts, adjusting his glasses against the bridge of his nose.
You weren't even mad. You probably should've seen this coming. Whatever. You still haven't figured out what was inside the box.
Wiping away the stray confetti, that would be a pain to clean later, your eyes set on a penguin shaped...something. "Fidds, honey," you hold the penguin shaped object towards him. "Just what exactly is this?" You ask, raising a brow.
"It's a shaved-ice maker!" He exclaims proudly, most likely because he made it from scratch. "Since it's almost summer n' you complained about how they haven't fixed the air conditioning in your dorm, I made this for ya!" He adds at a pace you can barely keep up with. Hearing him talk so happily about his creation makes your eyes soften.
You place the penguin shaved ice maker on the carpeted floor. You lean in to hug him. "Oh baby, what would I do without you?" You say, trying not to laugh as you speak. You move his glasses out of the way to kiss the bridge of his nose.
"I honestly don't know!" He replies, glasses perched on the top of his head. He can feel himself go red already as you run your fingers through his hair.
"Exactly. You spoil me, honey." You say in agreement, pressing a kiss to his cheek.

I know it‘s been a few years but I still occasionally think of ‚ain't like anywhere else‘. You‘ve probably moved on completely… But what did you have in mind for chapter 2? 👀🥺
this ask prompted me to open the google doc for the first time in years, so what the hell, let's exhume some remains and do some self-reflection about why part 2 was never going to work.
(all of the bits that follow are unedited material straight from the draft. i hope i've become a better writer than this over the past three years.)
Here's the opening paragraph:
Trevor was meant to be here. Not like he was born in the wrong place, since he’d never give up his birthright of New York obnoxiousness, but like it was all building to this. It’s never too hot. His body can’t soak up enough sunshine, hair sun-kissed, skin turning a permanent California brown. He’s trying to turn Jamie into a Californian but he’s stubbornly Canadian. Fishbelly white no matter how much time they spend in the sun.
the main reason part 2 didn't work is that there was really no reason for me to write my own take on the jamie/trevor origin story. it's been done, and by better writers than me. i just didn't feel the compulsion to write it, unlike the trevor/cole story, which was all mine.
anyway, the plan was to set up some tzjd undefined hooking up during their first season, and then have them stick around in california for the start of the offseason, and have cole come visit after the habs lost in the stanley cup finals (wow, remember when that happened?)
A week and a half later, there he is, waving at Trevor under the overhang at arrivals. Cole’s the most solid body Trevor knows. Dense, like he’s vacuum-packed down to size. Hugging him is like colliding with a mailbox. He presses his face into Trevor’s neck, quick, and Trevor’s not going to read anything into that. That’s just as high as Cole’s face goes.
cole's expecting trevor to get right back to hooking up with him, and trevor's not going to resist. meanwhile jamie still expects trevor to be hooking up with him. trevor sneaks in and out of bedrooms for an awkward few days. there was going to be a golf scene with cam york rounding out the foursome. i did not write any of this. here is an excerpt from my notes:
Need multiple instances of cole and jamie kind of flirting, or cole flirting with jamie and trevor able to tell that jamie likes it, and trevor’s kind of furious but he can’t say anything about it because he’s hooking up with both of them
eventually cole sees trevor sneaking out of jamie's bedroom and cole and jamie have a little talk and cole is unfazed and jamie's mind is blown. then here is the only bit i actually wrote:
It’s silent for a moment in the main room. Then Cole’s raspy voice says something, too low for Trevor to catch over the grind of the icemaker. He lifts his cup off the lever in time to hear Jamie bark a laugh in response. “Sure, yeah.” Trevor can see the TV from the refrigerator, but not the far side of the couch, where they’re sitting. He sloshes vodka over his ice, adds a splash of the first juice he sees, some pomegranate bullshit Trace left in the fridge, and rounds the corner just in time to see Cole climbing into Jamie’s lap. Kneeling over Jamie and smiling, always fucking smiling, he takes Jamie’s face in his hands and kisses him. “What the fuck?” Trevor says loudly, managing not to drop his drink on the floor. They ignore him so completely it has to be on purpose. Jamie’s eyes are closed, face tilted upward to Cole’s. Cole smiles against Jamie’s lips and rakes a hand backward through his hair, tipping Jamie’s head back so he can press in closer, kiss him deeper. Trevor knows what this is like from every possible angle. Knows what it’s like to have Cole in his lap, his smiling kisses, knows what’s under Jamie’s hands as they smooth down Cole’s back and settle on his ass. Knows what it’s like to get hard against Jamie’s stomach, feel Jamie hard underneath him. It’s like an out of body experience, seeing it all happen in front of him while he’s on the other side of the room. Jamie slips a hand under the hem of Cole’s tank top, and Trevor knows how the smooth muscles of his obliques feel, knows without even being able to see it that Jamie’s working a thumb under Cole’s waistband, rubbing it over his hipbone. He was first. He’s the tallest. And they’re just ignoring him.
i did also have some notes for the dialogue that eventually followed:
“And you could have told me you were banging your roommate now?”
“We’re not banging.”
“Oh, what are you calling it then?”
[] “Whatever you and I were doing.”
“Did Jamie get his dick sucked?”
“No?” Trevor says uncertainly, wriggling a little in Jamie’s lap. He would have sucked Jamie’s dick if he’d thought of it. That should count for something.
Jamie, patiently: “Nobody’s getting his dick sucked.”
“Trevor got his dick sucked and he owes me.”
Jamie tugs at his hair again. “I think he should pay up.”
“You can suck Jamie’s dick after. He did get silver.”
........i mean, maybe i could have made this dynamic work, if i'd gotten it written in that era. but probably not. i was much better served turning my attention to umich.

Sneak Peek Sunday, and this one's original fiction! Have a chunk of the ominous homoerotic makeover scene from Fearleading Squad.
...
Tiffany, unsurprisingly, turned out to be stubbornly persistent in evading Avery’s questions. When Avery asked how long Tiffany’d been cheerleading, while Tiffany was stirring together some kind of concoction of yogurt and oatmeal, Tiffany made Avery let her smear the goo all over her face instead of answering. When Avery asked whether any of the boys in town had caught Tiffany’s eye and why, despite being maybe the most desired person in the high school’s history, she hadn’t been on a million dates already, Tiffany’d just said she didn’t like being told what to do, and then asked Avery to pick out a movie. As Molly Ringwald handed over a pair of her panties on the huge TV screen (Tiffany hadn’t had Friday the 13th or Sleepaway Camp, and she’d never even heard of The Stuff), Avery had awkwardly tried a new tactic.
“God, I don’t even get why you like this movie,” she said, trying to watch Tiffany’s face without looking like she was watching Tiffany’s face. It was already hard enough to tell what Tiffany was thinking, the layer of quickly-hardening oatmeal-yogurt goop only made her expressions all the more inscrutable. “You must think Sam’s just pathetic. I bet nobody’s ever forgotten your birthday.”
It took Tiffany a long moment to answer. Avery was just starting to think she wouldn’t when she said, “You might be surprised. Hey, I think these masks might be ready to come off. Mine’s cracking.”
Avery dutifully paused the movie and followed her back upstairs to wash off the oatmeal masks. But she wasn’t going to be dissuaded so easily, this time. “Seriously? But you’re so pretty, so popular, so involved with everything. Everybody likes you.” She couldn’t stop herself from adding, “Or at least they pretend they do.”
Tiffany laughed, at that. It wasn’t her usual mocking, bell-like, I-don’t-even-have-to-care laughter. It sounded closer to unhappy. “That’s true.”
She beamed at Avery, and then grabbed the glass she’d filled with ice cubes from the fridge’s icemaker before they’d come up to her bedroom. “But that’s why I’m glad you’re here. Why I’m so happy you’re finally coming around. I think you and I could be real friends.”
It was all part of the act, and Avery knew it. Still, she found it hard to swallow around a sudden, prickly ball of guilt.
She reminded herself, again, of what she was doing this for. Who she was doing this for. Her real friends.
Still, the words tasted bitter on her tongue. “It’s shocked me to my core, but…you know, I think maybe we could, too. If we can expand your taste in music out into movies. I can’t believe you’ve never seen the Rocky Horror Picture Show. What do people even do for fun out in L.A.?”
Tiffany’s smile went a little thin. But she hid whatever had just flashed through her mind well.
“My parents used to be…pretty strict,” she said, and delicately selected one of the ice cubes from the glass. “You know. Religious. Hold still and shut your eyes, this is going to be cold.”
“Not surprised they wanted to keep you out of trouble. Isn’t Los Angeles the gang violence capital of the USA?” Avery couldn’t resist prodding. And then, as Tiffany reached forward with the ice cube, “Wait, what the hell are you planning to do with that?”
“Everybody knows that violence begins at home,” Tiffany said, smarmily putting on a breathlessly earnest, sincere tone, like some kind of moral crusader eager to get Avery to open her heart and her wallet to the cause. She even opened those blue eyes as wide as they’d go and gave her impossible lashes an innocent bat, before grabbing Avery’s shoulder to stop her from shifting backwards into the vanity. “The ice works as a toner. It helps close up your pores so you don’t get shit in them. Do it before you moisturise and it keeps you from breaking out.”
Avery shut her eyes and braced herself against the shock of cold as Tiffany rubbed the ice cube all over her freshly-washed face. Another shiver ran through her. If all beauty treatments felt this weirdly good, maybe she could start to understand why other girls bothered.
“I can’t believe you know the Rocky Horror Picture Show and not this,” Tiffany said. “What did you and that other cheerleader even talk about?”
“Courtney was the one who introduced me to Rocky Horror,” Avery said. The shock of cold she was feeling was suddenly not just from the ice cube. “Hey, do you still talk to her much? She’s been really cagey with me since she left the cheer squad. Do you have any idea why?”
Tiffany didn’t answer. She just finished rubbing the ice cube over Avery’s face, dragging it up along her cheekbones and smoothing it across her forehead towards her temples. There was a clink as she dropped it back into the glass, and then something soft battered gently against Avery’s face. “Pat that dry, and then we moisturise.”
Avery dutifully patted her face dry with the thing Tiffany’d thrown in her face, which she realised when she opened her eyes was a red terry facecloth. “Do you two not like each other or something?”
The look Tiffany gave her said, loud and clear, that she knew Avery was trying to give her a taste of her own medicine. And she thought it tasted pretty foul.
But she didn’t call Avery’s bluff. Just dabbed a little cold cream onto Avery’s freshly-toned nose with two fingers.
“You wanted to know why I don’t date,” she said, as she massaged the cream into Avery’s cheeks with the very tips of her slim fingers. Avery didn’t have to be told, this time, to shut her eyes. “And honestly, it’s partly because, I mean, have you seen the dating pool around here? Because I think every last one of these boys is swimming in the shallow end.”
Avery couldn’t resist a snort. Tiffany smacked her shoulder with the flat of one hand. “Hold still.”
Avery sat up a little straighter on the plush-topped vanity stool, tilting her face up to follow Tiffany’s gentle guiding hand under her chin. “Yeah. The water’s a little stagnant.”
She couldn’t be sure, with her eyes closed, but Avery thought that one had got her a hastily-suppressed snort in return.
“Maybe this is going to sound a little selfish,” Tiffany said, putting the cold cream back on the vanity with a little click and picking up a plastic powder case shaped like a seashell and a satin-bow-topped powder puff. Avery braced herself for something that was going to sound a lot selfish. “But right now, people are interested in me. They want my attention. They want to know my beauty secrets. They want to get invited to one of my parties. They care about what I think, what I wear, what I say, what I like – and who I don’t like.”
“Bet that feels powerful,” Avery said, more to herself than anything. But Tiffany obviously heard her. And smiled beatifically.
“More than you could imagine.” She reached out and patted Avery’s cheek. Avery tried to recoil, suddenly disgusted, but Tiffany just rubbed the fingers she’d patted Avery’s cheek with against her thumb. “Hm. Think that’s absorbed enough now to start with makeup. Shut your eyes again. And quit wriggling.”
Avery dutifully froze in place. She shut her eyes only reluctantly.
The featherlight touch of the powder puff against her forehead nearly made her jump off the stool. She took a deep breath, and gripped the stool’s underside with both hands.
Tiffany didn’t seem to notice. Or pretended she didn’t notice. “But if I picked one of these duds and let him take me out on a date, then – that’s it. Nobody cares about me anymore. It’s all about him. And, even if I dump his loser ass, then it just becomes all about who comes after him. It’s all ‘who gets the girl’. I’m nothing but some – some trophy that some boy gets to brag about winning, that they all get to pass around. And all that power? It just goes straight to him.”
She patted powder over Avery’s cheeks and chin. “Just like with Sam and the panties. Give them an inch, decide that just because they’re being nice, you can trust them, let your guard down for a second, and they’ll ruin your whole life. Just to prove they can.”
Avery didn’t know what to say to that. She’d been expecting – something shallower. Stupider. More ‘I’m better than all of you and nobody here is good enough for me’. And oh, boy, was that ever something she could hear in Tiffany’s little diatribe. But…
She couldn’t help remembering the glitter of broken glass on concrete, the rage and disgust on Tiffany’s face. I’m supposed to be in control.

Hello! I hope your day/night is going well. I was wondering if you cloud help me come up with a strong water based quirk for my MHA OC something related to a Water Nympth??
Going for pure water Quirks here, so no "Icemaker" or "Vaporous".
I have done plenty of water Quirks. It's just a matter for what flavor you want. I've got "Reservoir" for watery minions, "Water Rapids" for surrounding yourself with water, "Geyser" for making water explode. I've got "Water Works" for full control over water, "Washout" for general water control, "Waterproof" for violent control of water. However, the best options may be "Sound Wave" since it's all about control water with your voice, "Water Logged" because it gives the user a new form in water, and "Wavy Hair" as it can fit the water nymph look.

In my cerebral palsy support group, someone felt reluctant to switch from a cane to a walker. One of the older group members - over 45 - had this to say:
"I used to use forearm crutches until I fell on ice in my driveway and water from the icemaker in my kitchen. I use a regular walker. I tried a rollator and I felt like it got away from me. For me, a walker has helped me walk faster, carry more stuff with my hands and in a bag, and stand still. Falls are virtually non- existent. I suggest you consider trying out different styles of walkers to see what works for you. You might also want to try walking with your feet farther apart than seems natural. That has also helped me.
The walker works well. Extra contacts with the ground are the key. I get that it's a bummer to need a different kind of mobility aid. Isn't it better to be more secure when you walk? My mother used to tell me things like, "If you -insert comment- you won't want to walk." that's not true. Using an aid that allows you to be as independent as possible and conserves your energy is the most important thing to maintaining your ability. As you age your mobility will change. If your prescription for your glasses changes don't you get a new pair?"

Turns out, Wallys doesn't have to get himself together enough to ask a girl out if she gets herself together enough to ask him out! Kissing on Dawn is different from kissing on Olivia is different from kissing on Portia, but it's all good. He'll have to watch his back at school today, though. Can't kiss one with another in line of sight.
Tumblr media
"Aren't you going to be late for work, dear?" "Nope. I'm taking today off so I can help you in the store, since Virginia won't be there." "Okay. That's very thoughtful of you." That has "potential disaster" written all over it. She'll need to hire somebody new soon. Not that she isn't delighted that Virginia's finally getting somewhere in her chosen profession.
Tumblr media
The first thing Hamilton does at the store is chow down on some churros he finds in the fridge. After all, nobody's shown up yet.
Tumblr media
Sandy doesn't waste time making her pitch as soon as anybody comes in the door, though. (No, the counter isn't supposed to be for sale. I keep forgetting to fix that.)
Tumblr media
"Hold on, hold on -" "What happened to my neighbor? The little red-haired one? I thought she worked here." "My daughter, I'll have you know, has moved on to better things and will soon be a great star of stage and screen."
Tumblr media
Ooh, newlywed with money just walked through the door! "This thing has a state-of-the-art icemaker. No more ice cubes spewing out onto the floor!"

Wow, this whole family loves appliances!

Isn't a Shinx/Luxio/Luxray tail tip supposed to be star shaped? Malachi does seem to have a different shaped tail tip just like at least one other member of his tribe. Am I just remembering my shapes wrong?
Tumblr media
Malachi: Some Shinx lines like to style their tail fur that way, but my family and I always preferred the "natural" look.
// short and simple for malachi's answer here, but I wanted to add on an ooc bit to the end!
any longtime readers of OBT know that the comic has gone through several iterations over time, the style developing with it. back when the reboot started, I was really into integrating irl animal anatomy into my designs so they'd feel more "real"- hence the shinx line not getting rounded ears with star stamps on them.
Tumblr media
but over time I've found I actually like to embrace design traits from the official art more... like how I'm much more willing to give characters cute little dot eyes which helps bring some of the more anatomically odd pokemon out of uncanny valley
Tumblr media
but while this works for characters like chimecho, who showed up for the first time in the comic when I was already stylizing pokemon this way, Rune and Malachi have been there since the beginning, and went through a great deal of already drastic changes. I guess at the time this was all happening I thought changing certain design elements as well was a step too far? (I know people were already complaining about me rewriting and rebooting things and were certain i'd be trapped in that loop forever, but I swear the spirit of it was closer along the lines of "I just needed more time to revise the intro and let it cook since the rest of the story hinges on the opening". that is a ramble for another time lmao)
but the long and the short of it is that rune and malachi's designs (and consequently, all vulpix and shinx in the comic) are the result of a long game of telephone with myself. so most of malachi and rune's design elements (normal lion tail and ears with fluff for malachi, and eyes with a visible sclera vs no sclera for rune) do carry over into other members of their species
Tumblr media
Dielle and Inigo would probably been impacted by this too, if their debut came sooner than it did! Dielle especially. for a while I considered making her head coin into a marking (because I guess in a world of dogs that breathe fire I thought a coin on a cat's forehead was too far):
Tumblr media
and then made her coin into a headplate........... thing. it was a weird time for me
Tumblr media
so this is where you'll find that for new characters in OBT, or when I do other art, such as commissions or just stuff for fun, I actually stick closer to the canon design elements. I like how they look, and I'm more confident drawing them without feeling weirdly conscious!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
if I rebooted OBT again for some weirdfuck reason (hell will freeze over before i do that LMAO no more reboots i'm very happy where i am), and I still wanted to continue my game of "rune and malachi design telephone", they'd probably look something like this
Tumblr media
though more realistically, i would take their designs/species back to the drawing board entirely. the only reason i would reboot at this rate is if someone gave me 1 million dollars and a fridge with an icemaker installed in it (the peak of luxury)

The Ordeal. pt.2
Jasin found himself on the floor, half-dressed, and unable to move. They could hear Mei calling his name as she moved through the house.
It wasn’t long before they got to his door and peeked inside.
“You alright?” She asked.
They shook his head. “Panicking.”
Mei’s eyes widened and they wasted no time helping.
“Deep breaths,” she told them. “I’m gonna get you an ice cube, hold on.”
Jasin didn’t understand how ice would help, but he trusted Mei.
They heard the icemaker on the fridge and Mei’s stims on their way back.
“Good morning, my name is Tokyo. Just like a window, I'm here to air it out.” She crouched like Spider-Man next to him.
Jasin looked at the cup in their hand and the ice cubes inside.
“What’re those for?”
“They help. Take.”
He took an ice cube and put it in their mouth and Mei did the same. He closed their eyes and listened to Mei explain where she found it. After a while, they stopped talking and started humming.
A couple minutes passed before Mei asked, “Is it working?”
Jasin nodded. “Yeah, can I get another one?”
“Yeah.”
Just as quickly as it snuck up, Jasin’s panic attack was gone. They leaned his head against the wall and thanked Mei for the help.
“What was the trigger?”
“You know Kevin?”
Mei rolled their eyes. “You mean the guy you’re borderline obsessed with? The one you talk about every day? Nope. No idea.”
“Shut up.” Jasin pushed her, which made them fall. “I’ve wanted to ask him out and I asked him if he wanted to go hang out downtown and maybe get ice cream. He said yes, so I was getting ready because it’s today. So, I started thinking about it and I sat down and I spiraled.”
“You need sour candy. It does the same thing as the ice, so if you have another panic attack.”
“I don’t have time to go get any. I’m leaving as soon as I’m done getting ready.”
“So another hour,” Mei guessed. “I have some more, don’t worry.”
“I don’t need that many. Two at most.”
“Five,” she said. “Always overestimate with those. They’re the extra super sour ones that make your face go…” They opened and closed her hand like they were squeezing the air, “...like ‘Goodness gracious!’”
“That makes sense.”
“And get some more on your way back. We’ve got a math test.”
Jasin sighed. “I hate those.”
“For what? You’re the only person in class who understands anything.”
“They’re scary.”

Get experts solutions when your ice maker is not making ice
A freezer becomes a necessity in household and commercial settings. It extends the lifespan of food by slowing down the bacteria and enzymes that cause spoilage. Beyond food preservation, freezers play a crucial role in pharmaceutical industries, where cooling temperature is a must for storing medicines and vaccines. In today’s world of advanced technology, freezers come with smart features, energy-efficient models, and user-friendly options.
Have you ever opened the fridge to get a cold glass of ice water but certainly come up with a sudden malfunction? However, it's not uncommon. Ice makers are not making ice for a reason. The ice may have melted instantly after being made, or the ice maker may have stopped making ice. You can look at the control arm above the ice bin. Just flip it up and see the change. Check the electrical connection. To get the best result, keep the refrigerator and freezer temperature at their optimal setting.

Note
Do you think you could make a Quirk about building stuff? Think something like Jury Rigg from Ben 10 or Emmet from the Lego Movie.
I see this working as an Emitter type Quirk activates whenever the user focuses on building an object. When doing this, the user will enter a unique fugue state. While in this state, their brain and body will rapidly work to build that object. The user's brain will scan within a short range around them to study and understand the components around them and how they work together. Meanwhile, their body will move faster and quickly build the item. This can work with a variety of mechanical devices, from wooden tools to projectile weapons. For example, the user could be in a kitchen. They'd imagine a firearm, and the Quirk would get to work, turning the icemaker into a gun that's shoot ice pellets as people. This gives the user a versatile Quirk, capable of turning random scraps into useful tools. They can build tools on the fly, diversify their arsenals, repair their allies' equipment, adapt to enemy tactics, or just make up machines to help in their day-to-day life. Though this Quirk is heavily reliant on the resources around the user and needs space and time to build it, so random garbage may not work as well or last as long. The Quirk does take a toll on the user both physically and mentally, exhausting them after they build something and making them end up collapsing before they have the chance to complete it, especially with larger or more complex items. The user needs to maintain them after creating them. A possible name for the Quirk could be "Makeshift".
