When Your Life Has No Passion

I have been super exhausted and feeling like I’m just adrift.  It hit me this evening as I was, yet again, ignored by my loved ones as they went about their business.   I have no passion in my life.  I am not passionate about anything and no one is passionate about me.   Adrift is the best description I can come up with.  I feel lost and have no direction.  No wonder I just want to sleep.   I don’t feel alive at all, just merely going through the motions.

Why did Victorious end? The last episode is so random, it doesn't feel like closure. Was it cancelled?

There are a lot of different reasons I’ve heard about Victorious’ cancellation. The first is just that all live action Nickelodeon shows are cancelled after around 65 episodes (so, three or four seasons).  Victorious was in its fourth season and has 57 episodes total.  

On the topic of Victorious’ cancellation, Dan Schneider said that, “by now, a lot of you have heard that Victorious will not be returning for a 4th season.  That is true.  This was the network’s decision – not mine. Please understand: Almost all Nickelodeon shows have a life of about 60 episodes.  We made around 60 episodes of Drake & Josh… of Zoey 101… and we made 41 episodes of The Amanda Show… and all those shows were big hits. So, it’s not unusual for a Nick show to do a run of just 60 episodes. I would love to have made more than 60 of Victorious, but that’s how it usually goes.  We’re extremely proud of the show, and all we’ve accomplished. Also – and it’s really important that you know this – the network’s decision about Victorious had nothing to do with “Gibby” or “Sam & Cat”.  I promise.  Even if there was no “Gibby” and no “Sam & Cat” – the network still would have ended Victorious after its 60-episode run.”

Some people have said that Ariana Grande is the reason for the show’s end; she was set to star in Sam & Cat, and she couldn’t be on both shows at once given that she’s playing the same character. Ariana Grande has denied this on Twitter.  She tweeted, “sweetheart the only reason Victorious ended is because one girl didn’t want to do it.  She chose to do a solo tour instead of a cast tour. If we had done a cast tour Nickelodeon would have ordered another season of Victorious while Sam & Cat filmed simultaneously but she chose otherwise,”  effectively pushing the blame on one of her co-stars (aka Victoria Justice).  

Victoria Justice, in a now-deleted tweet, said that, “some people would throw someone that they consider a friend under the bus just to make themselves look good. #StopBeingAPhony #IfTheyOnlyKnew.” Victoria has also said that she was not involved in the cancellation of Victorious, and the decision was up to Nickelodeon executives and the producers alone.  “That’s complete misinformation. I had no control over leaving the show or the show ending, that was completely up to Nickelodeon and the executives. And I love the cast and I loved doing Victorious.”

As for why the show didn’t get a proper ending, there’s no real answer to that.  It seems like they filmed 15 episodes of season 4 and then got cancelled, so my guess is that they intended to film more but their budget was pulled and they never got the chance to finish the show the way they wanted.
