How can I write for the country genre if I'm not familiar with it?

Don't sweat it! If you vibe with anything here that's more than enough! I tried to pick lyrics with a variety of themes - family, love, coming of age, angst, bad boys/girls etc. They all centre around a sense of connection and relationships - universally human themes.

We're all here playing games that locate the characters inside cultures outside of Japan and we're here writing for cultures outside our own when writing for these games, so don't be shy! Just let yourself have fun.

What should I do with lyrics?

Use the prompts however you like; Any and all types of content submissions are welcome — writing, drabbles, head canons, drawing, mood boards, playlists, whatever makes you say, "Hell yeah!"

Examples: You could use the lyrics directly as quotes, indirectly as the premise for the art. Anything! You could incorporate the lyrics from the rest of the song. There are a ton of great lines/ideas in the rest of each song. You're not restricted to these quotes. I just picked ones that speak to me or have a strong image. Recruitment

Hello! This is Letters-From-Ikemen, a blog centered around the idea of those in the fandom sending requests to receive a letter from their favorite character, or for someone they know to receive one instead.

If you look at the blog, you can see that it doesn't look fully set up yet- and you are correct. I wanted to showcase a recruitment form to gather those who are willing to help with this project; from helping moderate to helping write and send the letters themselves. Below is a form, and under the cut I am going to discuss the proposed idea of how this blog will work, as well as some rules it would have (subject to change).

In order to offer help with this blog, you will need to join a discord server for ease of communication.

General Rules, for now:

The games to request letters from are Ikesen, Ikevamp, Ikepri, and Ikevil

NSFW content is not allowed at the moment. Suggestive at most, unless decided otherwise- and this will still depend on whoever decides to reply to the letter and their comfort levels.

Letters will not have a set quota for 'delivery'. This means that we are not going to push to respond to a certain number of letters weekly or similar, as we don't want to stress out those writing these for fun.

This blog will post the letters publicly while tagging the recipient, using fandoms tags as well, unless otherwise requested. At that point, it will be sent as an ask to the recipient. The recipient must have their inbox open.

When we gather members, we will have a public list of writers who are helping. This is to give credit to the writers, not as a request form for specific writers.

When people apply to join, if we do not cover all available characters in these games, we will have a public list of what all characters are currently accepting letter requests.

Anon will be enabled for requests and questions.

Please be respectful regarding requesting letters. Remember that there are real people behind the screen responding to these.

Requesting letters to use a specific nickname, name (oc or otherwise), is encouraged, but please understand that those responding will not have intimate details of your ocs.

After some time, we will come up with an easy prompt-list to use when suggesting.

For Joining:

18 or older. Not due to adult content matter, just due to the subject matter of the games and my own personal comfort.

You must join a discord server for ease of communication.

The discord server will be sharing the requests in designated channels, general help with reviewing responses if needed, and similar.

The form is not a promise that you will be able to join.

As stated above, we're not going to aim for a certain amount of letters to be sent in a specific timeframe. I'm unsure of how busy this blog could get, but I want this to stay fun and as stressfree as possible for those involved.

In the case that you receive a letter for you, the request will be spoiler blocked with an explanation so you don't have to be spoiled regarding it.

It is fine if you are uncomfortable writing a letter for a specific person, but being rude about it is an absolute no-go and will be enforced strongly.

Please feel free to ask questions.

If you're interesting in moderating, please don't be afraid to say so. This would come with specific discord roles, but limited blog roles for a time unless I know you very well, just due to how tumblr blogs do not have many admin options like discord does.

The ideal situation for this blog would be to gather a few folks to help moderate it, while also gathering writers who are willing to write for any characters from Ikesen, Ikevamp, Ikevil, and Ikepri. Not one sole person would be in charge for replying for a specific character (Ie; there would not be only one person writing Chev letters, there will be a few who will rotate based on availability/comfort with the subject matter.)

Those who help moderate would be appreciated as writers as well! You don't have to do one or the other, both is fine! Just please be aware of stress levels.

I will also be transparent and state that this is a blog heavily inspired by the @/ikemenpostoffice blog, that unfortunately deactivated. Before it had deactivated, I had inquired if they would be upset if someone wanted to do a similar blog, and got approval to do so. I thought it was a very positive idea that was a good way to spread kindness to the fandom, and it's a shame that the OP of the blog was harassed and felt very hurt by what had happened.

Meet my OC: Ava (IkeVil)

Early Life

Ava grew up in a small, but close family. She was the only child, her mother managed the house, while her father worked as a solicitor at a prominent firm. Life was comfortable for Ava, her parents doted on her and provided her with all she needed. Despite being an only child, she had a good number of friends in school and thrived while learning.

As she advanced in her education, Ava grew bored with her subjects. But she never once complained or sought other enrichment - this was simply the way of life for her, so she went along with everything with a smile on her face. She learned by example, as her mother displayed the same behavior at home. One could call the two of them people pleasers.

When Ava was a young teen, her mother passed away from a sudden illness. Ava took over the role of her mother, taking care of the house and making sure her father was happy at home. She cooked his favorite meals which they shared only when he returned home after work. Occasionally, her father would take her out to the city for dinner or a show - always his choice of where to go. Again, life was comfortable for Ava, if perhaps a bit rigid.

Following in the footsteps of the other girls her age in her neighborhood, Ava met a boy and they soon began dating. He was nice enough, she supposed. Her father approved of him, and he was set to take over the family business. Ava's entire future was mapped out for her - what could go wrong?

It happened while they were on a date. Everything was going fine until it wasn't. He took her hand in his and told her he met someone else and had to end things with her. Ava couldn't understand why this was happening to her, she did everything she was supposed to.

Before she could sink into darkness, Ava went to her father and begged him to let her work in his office. Typing contracts, greeting clients, cleaning the office - she was willing to do anything to get her out of the house. While it was unorthodox for a woman of her class to ask to work, she knew if she stayed home, she would simply dwell on the fact that she was not good enough and it would eat her alive. If she had this job, even if performing the most menial of tasks, she could do something to help ease her father's workload. And that was better than doing nothing.

Her father said no at first, but after much insistence, he gave in. Just a few hours a week, he made her promise. The tasks were simple, but seeing how proud her father was whenever she completed one filled her with a sense of purpose. She lost her boyfriend, but she had this.

Growing up with a father who was a solicitor, Ava had a strong sense of what was right and what was wrong. Oftentimes at work, her father would talk to her about some of the high-profile cases that made the newspapers. Justice always prevails, he would tell her. And to Ava, her father was on the side of justice.

One night, her father asked her for a favor - a client was unable to come pick up some documents, could Ava hand deliver them? This was out of the scope of duties she normally performed, but these documents needed to be executed immediately. If it wasn't so urgent, he wouldn't be asking her. She took the envelope from him, happy to assist.

He scribbled down the address and said good-bye, knowing it would likely be the last time he saw his daughter.

Meeting Crown

I could be nice and tell you now how everyone met (hint, it's very similar to what happens in game, but with some changes). But as I started typing it, it started turning into something longer than this should be. So I'll save all that for a later fic.

Originally a request for the Holiday 2023 Tarot Request Game.

Warnings: the game is canonically dark romance, slightly more descriptive than canon-typical violence, Reader gets injured (Reader will be fine), liberties taken with Jude's accent, liberties taken in general since the game isn't actually localized yet, Reader is in MC's position but we're ignoring the presets, Jude calls Reader "princess" which is meant as an insult/commentary (YMMV with gender comfort), other characters are mentioned/present, spoilers to various things, not that angsty - Reader is just annoyed the whole time, Jude's love language is increasing debt

You were not supposed to go on this mission. There was not even supposed to have been a mission. Generally speaking, it is not often that missions are actually given out on holidays. Not due to any true respect for the significance of the day itself, but out of a strange sense of propriety on Victor's part. 

Busy body eccentric that he is, Victor considers it the poorest of taste to not seize any excuse for celebration. Something domestic inside drives him to decorate garishly and cook lavishly. Maybe it is for this reason, he cannot help but treat the Crown like his unruly children.

And like unruly children, he plans to herd them into the dining hall to enjoy the evening. The tables will be piled high with roasted turkey and scones and braised vegetables and scones. They will feast and count down the minutes until midnight and it will be a memorable experience for all. Or, well, that had been the plan.

Unfortunately, William had happened upon some last minute intel. It was the sort of signal they had been waiting for. Their targets were perfectly in position, the plans already in motion. Victor had sulked for all of a sour half-second before cheerfully designating a team.

It goes like this: New Year's Eve is a tumultuous day. Although the Crown demands a certain priority on its members' obligations, it does its best not to inconvenience unnecessarily. This is the sort of job for a man who hates to waste his time.

And because I'm extra, I thought I would do a deep dive into how I made each plush. It was a tough job for me if I do say. Especially you Jude!!!!! Ahem, shall we begin dear anon?

Let's start with the very beginning. I'm not gonna lie, but I absolutely adore Ring. When I saw him, my heart just knew he was the character I was going to simp for till the end of time. So, it honestly started off with him.

However, Ring you know has a brother named Nica. He unfortunately was, um, horrible at first. Even now I've haven't gone back to fix him because I can't help but laugh when I see him.

Nica I'm so sorry.

Moving on, I decided to try my hand at Elbert and Harry since I was so confident I couldn't screw up with those two. Little did I know what would become of me.

As you can see above me, here are the draft plushies. The only ones to come out safe was Elbert and Harrison. Well, actually I struggled forever to find the perfect felt color to use for Harrison. I ended up going with a seller on Etsy who hand dyes wool felt. The hair color is called cappuccino.

Even so, it's not a perfect match which ticks me off when I look at his plush. Also, there's something about the eyes that bother me. It's like his plush looks washed out. I'm sure it's because the eyes are too pale. I might actually change them soon.

HoWEVer Elbert looks so adorable!!!!! Except he also at the same time kinda sorta mAYBe looks like Lancelot from the game Ikemen Revolution.

What can I say, I like my blondes depressed

Now we move onto the real troublemaker duo. Alfons and Jude. I ended up changing Alfons design a lot as well as Jude. However, after going to the barber shop, he looks perfectly fine now. You can see his before in the photo above. This is his after look:

Isn't he much cuter??? He really needed that swoosh hair thingy.

For Jude, I shifted his hair around and added his black streak of hair. Before is on the left and the after is on the right. Sad to say, but I'm not satisfied with how he looks. I just can't pinpoint where I went wrong though. That's not to say I think he doesn't deserve a chance at the spotlight though.

When I was making Jude's hair, I chose to go with two different shades of grey instead of white and black. The white and black was too strong of a contrast to my liking. I wanted there to be more a blend. I also wasn't sure what hair color Jude has. I think it's light grey??

Through my many trials and tribulations, I have cultivated plush designs I've come to be satisfied with. It was a good challenge for me.

A side note from me, but I was going to add Ellis in this set too. Yet, I went back and forth between hair colors for Ellis. I think it's dark purple. Anyway, I'm still on the search for a hair color to match Ellis. Which one do you think it is?

Hey is anyone having trouble accessing Ikemen prince lately? I have Ikevamp, Ikevil and Ikesen installed on my device (ip 7plus) and they work just fine. But Ikemen Prince doesn’t even let me in the game :))) even ikepri jp works, but not ikepri eng. is it everyone or just me? If it’s just me, how do I fix this?

I will yeet here my speculations on what kind of fairytale villains a cast of new characters might be based off from (obviously not all of these, but just speculation and a bunch of nonsense) at the top of my head:

The new cast could be Privy Council, Golden Butterfly, Gang member who beef with Jude, or some sort of "I'm here to destroy the Cursed" group, but I am still waiting to be proven wrong so surprise me Cry(ingformywallet)birb.

• Gothel

I'm thinking, maybe William's foil character. If William (poster boy) is all about freedom and stuff, a Gothel based villain would have an ideal but very horrific means to try and get to them (think IkeSen Kichou to Nobunaga in that IkeSen prologue where the former blows up Azuchi)

• Snow Queen

Probably could end up as William's foil too, the same way a Gothel based villain would be.

• Sea Witch (I'm sorry but really? No Little Mermaid villains?)

Honestly, they can make dubious deals which could be a hilarious foil to Victor (makes honest deals) or is one of the leaders of a gang that have beef with Jude himself.

• The dagger from The Little Mermaid

Ok, if we have the duos if the Evil Queen and the Mirror and the 13th Fairy and the Thorns, why can't we have a Sea Witch and the dagger the Little Mermaid's sisters gave her that is also from the Sea Witch? I think it would make an interestimg duo.

Very dubious deals type of character like the Sea Witch. Also has an explicitly gruesome fate in the original fairy tale so... time to get creative.

I'm thinking of a counterpart to Liam or Harrison. Either its the Wolf from Red Riding Hood or Seven Little Goats is fine, but acts as some sort of tie-in to either Liam or Harrison. The Big Bad Wolf is sly, curious, and straight up dangerous under a mask of pretending to be caring. Also, it is one of the villains with a usually violent death.

When you think about it, where are the witches based villains. I'm thinking maybe a director of a dubious orphanage that has a degree of care for the orphans they take in but is ultimately still a villain. Totally not thinking of Genshin Arlecchino. Their tragic fate might be that they are fated to be killed by a child who they originally took in.

• Cinderella's Stepmother

Where is the most iconic evil stepmother /j. In all seriousness, I'm thinking of how Curses do work and how it is fairly lucky that none of the Curses are ever inherited. The curse will affect said Cursed person in varying ways but what if for an Evil Stepmother, their curse only works situationally? For the case of an Evil Stepmother, maybe the curse is that they are fated to fall in love with someone who will die young (cue tragic noises) before them. Cue "don't fall in love with me because you will actually die" dynamic which would theoretically be the worst sort of fate on MC's end.

• Cinderella's Stepsister/s

Cybird will never bring out a direct father-son related duo but they really are pushing many limits with IkeVil, yet one can only dream. Still, with a "Stepsister curse" they can get creative, particularly in terms of how if an Evil Stepmother curse exists, surely their child would be afflicted with the Evil Stepsister curse? In Alfons' route, we have a case where the previously Mirror cursed affected the family, but what if a two curses (Evil Stepmother and Stepsister) sit with a family until the one having the "Stepsister curse" dies?

(I've decided to stop uploading screenshots with my translations as they take up a lot more time when I'm working on it. From this chapter on, it will just be text translations like I'm doing with Ikevil!)

Yoshitsune: Well, I should get going. I've overstayed my welcome.

Yoshitsune cleared his throat softly and then walked towards the soldier---

Despite his slender frame, he effortlessly hoisted the soldier onto his back.

Yoshitsune: ...Yoshino, I hope we never meet again on the battlefield.

Yoshino: Please don't apologize. As you can see, I'm perfectly fine!

(Because I can tell that Morinaga-san is genuinely worried about me, I don't want to cause him any more worry.)

Morinaga-san gave a wry smile at my attempt to sound cheerful and reassuring.

Morinaga: Thank you.

Morinaga: Actually, after we split up, word reached us from Kagetoki that Yoshitsune-sama had joined the battle.

Morinaga: I rushed back to you as fast as I could, but I never expected to find you hiding alone. You really surprised me.

Morinaga: That's why... I'm just so relieved you're safe.

(Morinaga-san is such a warm person.)

Returning his smile, I ask him about something that's been on my mind.

Yoshino: Are the soldiers who were with me safe...?

Morinaga: I've heard that everyone is uninjured. The supply troops are also safe, and the tide of the battle has turned.

Feeling nervous, I crouched lower on the back of the galloping horse.

Drawn to the clashing sounds of swords and the pungent smell of blood, I glanced down below and saw---

Yoshitsune: Those who wish to die---come here!

Yoshitsune-sama rides his horse with grace and cuts down the soldiers one by one.

(!...)

Soldier 1: Damn, what strength...!

Soldier 2: Don't fight him alone! Let's all go together!

Yoshitsune: It's the same thing even if you overwhelm me with numbers.

Yoshitsune: Give it a try.

Solders: Wahhh!

Yoshitsune: ---too slow.

(What...!)

Yoshitsune-sama's sword pierced the chest of the oncoming soldiers.

(He's so fast...!)

Without a moment's hesitation, a sword is swung down from behind his back.

Soldier 2: There's an opening!

Yoshitsune: I'm not sure about that.

With a nimble twist, Yoshitsune evades the blade.

And without even a moment to catch his breath, he knocked the soldier's sword away.

Soldier 2: Guh...

Yoshitsune: I have no intention of playing around for long... be prepared.

(Eh?)

Yoshitsune himself charged towards the group of soldiers---

Yoshitsune: ...

Soldier 3: Gah!

Soldier 4: Ugh...

He jumped into the middle of the crowd and instantly mowed the soldiers down.

(What... was that just now...!)

(If things had gone wrong, it wouldn't have been surprising if he had been injured or even killed...)

But Yoshitsune, without even a hint of fear for his own safety, charged towards the enemy.

(I can't believe this is the same person I was talking to earlier...)

Morinaga: That's how Yoshitsune-sama fights.

Lost for words, I watched in fascination as Morinaga-san's voice reached my ears.

Yoshino: T-the people fighting... are they okay?

(If things continue like this, it seems like everything will fall apart... right?)

Morinaga: I think I've taken some countermeasures.

Despite his clouded expression, Morinaga kept his composure and calmly observed the battle situation.

Morinaga: See there? The flanking force is moving into position even as we speak. Can you see it?

Yoshino: Ah...!

When I looked in the direction that Morinaga-san was pointing, I saw a unit of allies, charging fiercely to aid the struggling soldiers, and latching onto Yoshitsune-sama from behind.

The enemy soldiers also start to move in a flustered manner, and Yoshitsune-sama's figure is lost admist the combat.

(!...it's too intense. I don't know what's going on anymore...)

Morinaga: If I could finish them off with this, I wouldn't have to go through all this trouble.

Yoshino: ...is that still not enough?

Yoshino: It seems like the numbers are completely in our favor...

Morinaga-san pursed his lips and shook his head.

Morinaga: Unfortunately not, based on my instincts and past experience.

Yoshino: I see...

I quietly tucked my complicated thoughts away in my heart.

(Although we only exchanged a few words---I don't think Yoshitsune-sama is a bad person.)

(But they remain a formidable enemy to me.)

Although Morinaga-san predicted that Yoshitsune-sama would not be defeated here, I could neither feel relief or disappointment.

Yoshino: Wow... Yoshitsune-sama is truly strong, even without using his supernatural powers.

(Yoshitsune-sama is far more impressive in person than I had ever imagined from the stories I've heard.)

Morinaga: His tactical skills are also incredibly sharp.

Morinaga: In this battle as well, the moment a tiny gap appeared in our formation, they launched a ferocious attack with incredible speed.

Morinaga: His judgment is both accurate and fast, making him a troublesome opponent.

Yoritomo: We sent out a chase immediately after receiving the report, but were unable to catch him.

Yoritomo: I guess he must have slipped away when he thought the fighting was about to end.

Yoshino: I see...

(So it turned out just as Morinaga-san predicted.)

Yoritomo: Yoshino.

Yoshino: Yes?

Yoritomo: If you have any grievances, I'll listen to them. Speak your mind.

Yoshino: Grievances?

I was left speechless because he had said something I never expected.

Yoritomo: What's with that face? Is something wrong?

Yoritomo: You must have been in so much danger, being left alone on the battlefield and then running into Yoshitsune.

Yoritomo: Is that surprising?

In contrast with his words, a rare smirk appeared on Yoritomo's lips.

Yoritomo: Well, it's true that the battle was a lot easier thanks to that guy.

Yoritomo: What is it?

Yoshino: Uh, no...

Such a thought crossed my mind, but I hesitated to put it into words.

Instead, I decided to ask a different question.

Yoshino: ...if Yoritomo-sama were in Yoshitsune-sama's position, would you kill me in this battle?

Yoritomo-sama was smiling, but the air around him suddenly turned icy.

It’s the next morning, and Kate is having breakfast in the dining room. Liam and Harrison are there eating as well, and Liam asks Kate how her “date with Will” was. The usage of the word ‘date’ has her remembering how the night had ended… 

William had asked about what she’s going to write in her report and she doesn’t think that she witnessed any crimes to report on. He tells her that he can commit a sin for her right now. He takes her hand and, as is done in greeting nobility, kisses it. He says that kissing without asking permission first is a fine sin, she can report about it to the Queen. Kate is flustered and manages to thank him (in half-sized font lmao). 

Liam brings her back out of her thoughts. Harrison comments that Liam doesn’t even need to ask how it went, she had “it was fun” written all over her face when she entered the room. Both Kate and Liam aren’t sure that’s true, and Harrison reaffirms that it is, adding that most of the people that go out with Will are like that. He says that Will loves others/ others love Will easily (I’m not sure which, my translator app was giving mixed results), but be careful not to get too addicted. She agrees to be careful.

Alphonse and Elbert enter the dining room, with Al giving a good morning to everyone. Liam comments on how rare it is that they come to the breakfast table. Al says that he would be troubled if El-sama passed away, so he decided to try and get some food in him. Harrison asks what's going on with Elbert's body, given he has many material desires but no appetite. Elbert doesn't know either.

Kate notices that Elbert isn't eating anything, and is only drinking his water with lemon. She wonders if he's not feeling well, and unintentionally stares at him while she's worrying. He looks at her and asks if something good has happened, she looks more beautiful than she did yesterday, which leaves Kate flushing with embarrassment at being called beautiful by the personification of beauty himself. 

Alphonse asks Elbert if he's going to make Kate a silent object in his room. If she's the one he's looking for, he says. This leaves Kate wondering in a slight panic if she will be stuffed and displayed. Liam winks at her, saying that El-sama has never put a human being away in his room. Kate says that she really doesn't think she's what he's looking for, and Alphonse agrees, which causes Elbert to subsequently do so as well. Kate is glad she won't be stuffed💀.

Kate decides that today is going to be the day that she truly starts her duties as fairytale master, recording her observations of William. In order to do that, she needs to find him, and so she excuses herself from breakfast. Liam asks if she's going to see Will, and comments that she's smiling, how cute! She denies it, and thinks that going to find William is her duty, and she isn't doing it for any other reason.

When she gets to Will's room she knocks to no answer. She wonders where he could be until she hears piano music playing. She recognizes the song as one from the play her and William had seen yesterday. When she follows it to the ballroom and sees him playing, she wonders if she should wait for a moment before going in. He sees her and stops playing, and she apologizes for disturbing him. He says she wasn't disturbing him at all, he was playing to lure her to him so his plan worked. 

He says good morning, and she says so in return. Kate is conscious of how her voice sounds due to being told she looks happy and more beautiful today. She asks William to tell her his schedule for the following day going forward so she knows where to find him in the morning. He teases her about looking for him, and she is very firm that it is her duty to work together with him. 

Kate compliments William's piano skills, and he says it to be an honor to have her do so. He tells her if she is interested, she can come sit next to him. She thinks about how on the night they met, she was lured to the room in which she witnessed the murder by his piano playing. She thinks that just because it's a mission, she doesn't have to accept every invitation he gives her. Nevertheless, she ends up sitting down on the bench next to him.

He shows her a simple melody to copy. Isn't it easy? Kate notices that the piano keys are heavy, but she is able to execute the melody no problem. She is told to keep repeating it, and Will then begins playing an accompaniment to the melody she's playing.

As they play, William asks Kate what her number one wish right now is. She loses concentration and messes up some notes, but when she does he picks them up in his accompaniment to make up for it. He continues with his question, saying even in her peaceful everyday life she had a wistful look on her face. She says that can't be, she's happy with her way of life. A worthwhile job and getting to go to the theater every once in a while makes her happy. She thinks to herself that of course, there were times where she thought that a whole new world would open up if she did something different, but she'd never found herself wanting for anything more. What she had was more than enough for her.

Kate asks why William thinks she looked so wistful when he doesn't know anything about her. Their piano playing stops. He wants to know more, he says, from the day that they had met. He asks why she's so obsessed with 'everyday' and working herself to death. She asks why he wants to know so much about her. Because he's interested in her, of course. 

Kate suddenly notices how close they are sitting on the bench. Her heart begins to pound loudly. "...Wow, I-..."
