I'm a little bit insane about how in novel canon the whole xiyao ending where Jin Guangyao wants to die with Xichen, who accepts, which then makes jgy change his mind and pushes him away at the last second isn't actually explicit. A lot of adaptations chose to make it so but in the novel this is all VERY up for interpretation.

Here's what actually happens in the text: Lan xichen stabs jgy, jgy moves away from lan xichen, xichen follows him, wwx realizes jgy is about to open the coffin and calls "watch out!" to lan xichen. Jgy unseals nmj, pushes xichen away, nmj kills jgy and they are both dragged into the coffin which is sealed again.

Here's what wei wuxian, our narrator, thinks is happening: Jin Guangyao wanted to lead lan xichen to his death out of revenge for stabbing him. Lan Xichen, unaware, simply followed Jin Guangyao to try and stop him from getting away. Wei wuxian's warning came too late, but Jin Guangyao- for an unknown reason- changed his mind at the last second and pushed lan xichen out of danger before lan xichen had any idea of what was going on.

Here's what most fans as well as the teams behind several adpatations think is happening: Jin Guangyao leads Xichen to nmj's coffin to die with him, Xichen accepts, because of this acceptance, proof xichen still cares for him, Jin Guangyao pushes him out of harm's way. Wei Wuxian just doesn't get that gay people who aren't him or Lan Wangji exist.

Here's what ALSO MIGHT BE HAPPENING: Jin guangyao wants to die in a different way than he is currently dying. Maybe he's afraid of what'll happen to his body after his death like he was scared for his mother's, maybe he wants to confront nmj one last time now that there's nothing more for him to lose, maybe - if he can't take her body with him- he'd at least like his final resting place to be where he buried his mother. Lan Xichen thinks he's trying to get away and follows but Jin Guangyao, who despite everything doesn't want him to die, pushes him away. Xichen doesn't know what happened until it's already happened. What he would've wanted if he had known remains up in the air.

Or, alternatively: Jin Guangyao's reasons are as above, but unbeknowst to Wei Wuxian, Xichen DOES know what jgy is about to do and either misinterprets this as an invitation to all die together, or inidividually decides he, too, is done, and wants to join his sworn brothers in the grave. To Jin Guangyao this has nothing to do with Lan Xichen, and he still doesn't want him to die, so he pushes him away against Lan Xichen's wishes.

Every single one of these interpretations is unhinged and they are all supported by the original text. It's like a choose your own adventure of tragic gay endings.

I was in my locker room, laying on the couch scrolling through Tik Tok. "Ha, that's funny," I said to myself as I watched the video. I said to myself once again as I leaned my head against the door, trying to take in what they had said.

After a few minutes of silence, my phone started to ring, which caused me to lean up off the door and walk over to the couch and grab my phone. Once I grabbed my phone, I quickly looked at it and noticed that my best friend Rhea Ripley had texted me, "Qué pasó entre ustedes tres?" I said to myself as I read the text. After a few minutes of trying to think of a good response, I gave up and just called her. "Hey girl!" Rhea said. "Hi." I replied with a sad tone in my voice. "So Y/N tell me what happened." She responded, which caused me to sigh before saying "Well Damian and Baron want me to decide who I want to fuck by tonight." "Ay dios mío" Rhea replied with a bit of shock but anger in her voice.

"I got to go. I have to get ready for my match." I said, and with that, I hung up the phone, grabbed my gear, and headed towards the bathroom. Once I was in the bathroom, I quickly took off my clothes and quickly put my ring gear on. "Looks fine." I said to myself before picking up my discarded clothes and heading back to the couch. Once I was at the couch, I laid my clothes down and headed towards the gorilla. After a few minutes of walking, I finally made it to the gorilla but was instantly stopped by Damian and Baron. "What the fuck do you guys want now?" I asked quite annoyed. "Woah senorita, what's with all the attitude?" Damian asked, standing over me.

"I'm about to have my match, so will you two get out of my way." I replied. "Alright, but when you get back, you tell us your answer." Baron said, and with that, I shoved past them and opened the door, making my over to the curtain. "Y/N, you're on in 1 minute." One of the backstage workers said as they walked past me."Okay." I replied. Once I made it the curtain, my entrance music came on, so I quickly walked out into the arena, and with that, I skipped down to the ring and jumped up on the apron quickly got in the ring and waited as Carmella made her way to the ring. After a few minutes of waiting for her to get done with her entrance, she was finally ready, so the bell rang, and I quickly attacked her, throwing punches left and right.

"ESTA ES MI CASA." I screamed in her face, which caused her to gain enough strength and push me off of her, causing me to get angry and attack her once again. After a few minutes of basically beating the shit out of her, I got dragged away from her by a bunch of security guards. "Y/N, calm down and go to the back." One of the guards said as he tried to hold me back. "NOW." He shouted, which caused me to back up and quickly getting out of the ring and walk up the ramp towards the gorilla. After a minute of walking, I finally made it to the gorilla. I quickly walked through the curtain, but once I did, I ran into Damian and Baron once again. "So Y/N have you thought about your answer?" Baron asked, crossing his arms. "Ugh, follow me." I replied, grabbing their hands and dragging them to the door. "What is your answer?" Damian asked.

"I haven't decided because I still want to fuck both of you." I replied with a smile. "But I want it to be a threesome." I continued, which caused their mouths to drop. "You want us to fuck you at the same time?" Damian asked clearly still shocked. "Sì now let's go." I replied, grabbing their hands and dragging them to my locker room. As Nailah is the Warrior of Light, she's in fame's spotlight far more often than she's comfortable with. People know of her through her deeds and try to treat her like a great hero or try calling her by her name - both things that she greatly dislikes, especially from strangers.

For her, the fear of not meeting other's expectations runs rampant when she is the center of attention. To cope with this, she hides behind her "masks" and plays the role she thinks people want to see - one of a perfect weapon. She stays quiet to reinforce an illusion of stoic courage and to mask her own discomfort. Meetings or formal events she's invited to are similarly silent - she'll hold her tongue out of fear of saying the wrong thing and causing a diplomatic incident. She keeps a focused glare on her face to discourage conversation with would-be admirers and refuses gifts or special treatment of any sort.

It's not uncommon for Nailah to disappear into the wilderness for days at a time to de-stress from a city visit, both to avoid having echo visions and to get away from the perceived expectations she suffocates under. If she can't leave a city for whatever reason, she will relax in a hot soaking bath - should one be unavailable, she'll leap into the nearest body of water instead.

While external criticism does cut at her, Nailah is a far harsher critic of herself than near anyone she's met. She takes external criticism with icy efficiency, responding that she will do better before she returns to whatever job is at hand. She's remarkably level-headed about it as well, internally picking apart the statement to see if there is any truth to it and changing her behavior accordingly. Dealing with internal criticism is a much messier affair, though, as she easily spirals into self destructive tendencies in an attempt to correct mistakes or punish herself for failures.

For all her difficulties with fame, she slowly grows to see it as a tool - something Nailah can leverage to get what she wants. She will use her status to avoid even more conversations and she will rally the people around her with her titles, letting her legend bolster their courage and hopes far easier than any of her speeches could.

okay gestalt ova wasn't anything special really it's like if a mediocre jrpg shonen thing had yun kouga's stink all over it. i would definitely be interested to read the manga if it's any better (it seems like the ovas cover about the first two chapters of...... 8 volumes lol) but it seems it's not available digitally and all the scanlations i can find are um. mislabeled uploads of some random yaoi which is REALLY funny, OR only the first two chapters.

what i have gleaned about the Yun Kouga Oeuvre from it is that she is OBSESSED and i mean OBSESSED with kissing have some kind of magical and especially healing property, this was also in earthian, and that the idea of magical names really interests her, and psychology, i guess, i mean it's called gestalt but it doesn't really get into that, (but hints at something? maybe?) so. also the idea of someone being Owned in some way. also on a bunch of websites it's tagged as gender bender (?). unless they mean whatever vague magic bullshit is being implied with ouri (yun kouga also seems obsessed with the idea of a woman becoming a man, like, a trans man but not having the words for it i guess? this was also in earthian but #SCARY in a loveless way)

i don't think it's worth watching if you're digging for loveless clues, this pretty much summarizes everything of interest in the OVA. it's just kind of a confusing slog unless you're like really, REALLY into mediocre old jrpg shit.

also worth noting but holy shit the character designs in this are the ugliest shit she's ever made like on god they are nasty to look at especially ouri and soushi lol
