Hear My Righteous Plea
1 Hear the right, O Lord, attend unto my cry, give ear unto my prayer, that goeth not out of feigned lips.
2 Let my sentence come forth from thy presence; let thine eyes behold the things that are equal.
3 Thou hast proved mine heart; thou hast visited me in the night; thou hast tried me, and shalt find nothing; I am purposed that my mouth shall not transgress.
4 Concerning the works of men, by the word of thy lips I have kept me from the paths of the destroyer.
5 Hold up my goings in thy paths, that my footsteps slip not.
6 I have called upon thee, for thou wilt hear me, O God: incline thine ear unto me, and hear my speech.
7 Shew thy marvellous lovingkindness, O thou that savest by thy right hand them which put their trust in thee from those that rise up against them.
8 Keep me as the apple of the eye, hide me under the shadow of thy wings,
9 From the wicked that oppress me, from my deadly enemies, who compass me about.
10 They are enclosed in their own fat: with their mouth they speak proudly.
11 They have now compassed us in our steps: they have set their eyes bowing down to the earth;
12 Like as a lion that is greedy of his prey, and as it were a young lion lurking in secret places.
13 Arise, O Lord, disappoint him, cast him down: deliver my soul from the wicked, which is thy sword:
14 From men which are thy hand, O Lord, from men of the world, which have their portion in this life, and whose belly thou fillest with thy hid treasure: they are full of children, and leave the rest of their substance to their babes.
15 As for me, I will behold thy face in righteousness: I shall be satisfied, when I awake, with thy likeness. — Psalm 17 | King James Version (KJV) The King James Version Bible is in the public domain Cross References: Numbers 6:24; Deuteronomy 32:10; 1 Samuel 2:3; 1 Samuel 23:26; 2 Chronicles 6:40; Job 23:10-11; Psalm 1:1; Psalm 3:7; Psalm 4:1; Psalm 4:3; Psalm 6:4; Psalm 7:2; Psalm 9:4; Psalm 10:5; Psalm 10:9; Psalm 10:12; Psalm 18:30; Psalm 18:36; Psalm 27:12; Psalm 37:31; Psalm 88:17; Psalm 98:9; Psalm 99:4; Ecclesiastes 6:2; Matthew 13:15; Luke 16:25; Luke 21:20; 1 Peter 1:7; 1 John 3:2; Revelation 22:4

Synastry Masterlist
Tumblr media Tumblr media
🤎 I had been working on the composite charts masterlist for a while, so I thought it was time to compile the posts I have made about synastry and organize them in another masterlist, as well as write more about it. I hope this masterlist can be helpful to you in analyzing your relationships. Remember that it also applies to friendships or platonic relationships!
── 🤎 What is a synastry chart? 🤎 ──
It's the comparison or interposition of your chart with the chart of another person with the motive of wanting to understand and analyze your compatibility. This can be done between lovers, friends or family, since its main purpose is to see compatibility and possible issues between two people regardless of their relationship.
🤎What’s the difference between a Synastry Chart and a Composite chart?🤎
The clearest difference is that in the synastry chart we use two charts, yours and the other person's, while the Composite chart is a single chart.
In the synastry chart we compare your natal planets with the planets of the other person to find out how you get along as individuals, on your own without needing to be in a relationship. While in the Composite Chart we study the dynamics of you as a couple/relationship of any kind. It tells us about the way the relationship works and possible problems that may arise.

Essentially the cinema reveals a whole occult life with which it puts us directly into contact. But we must know how to divine this occult life. There are better means than a succession of super impressions for divining these secrets of the depths of consciousness. Raw cinema, taken as it is, in the abstract, exudes little of this trance-like atmosphere, eminently favorable for certain revelations. To use it to tell a story is to neglect one of its best resources, to fail to fulfill its most profound purpose. That is why I think the cinema is made primarily to express matters of the mind, the inner consciousness, not by a succession of images so much as by something more imponderable which restores them to us with their direct matter, with no interpositions or representations.

Rereading Mansfield Park and this section struck me:
Susan saw that much was wrong at home, and wanted to set it right. That a girl of fourteen, acting only on her own unassisted reason, should err in the method of reform, was not wonderful; and Fanny soon became more disposed to admire the natural light of the mind which could so early distinguish justly, than to censure severely the faults of conduct to which it led. Susan was only acting on the same truths, and pursuing the same system, which her own judgment acknowledged, but which her more supine and yielding temper would have shrunk from asserting. Susan tried to be useful, where she could only have gone away and cried; and that Susan was useful she could perceive; that things, bad as they were, would have been worse but for such interposition, and that both her mother and Betsey were restrained from some excesses of very offensive indulgence and vulgarity. Ch 40
So often people say that Fanny is without faults, but her reluctance to take action is a fault, even if it's an understandable one. William hopes aloud that Fanny will set things right at home, but Fanny is so afraid of giving offence and so timid that this proves to be impossible. Her adoption and education of Susan is lovely, but while she knows what is right, it's very hard for her to share it widely.
It makes me wonder about Edmund's insisting:
"...You will supply the rest; and a most fortunate man he is to attach himself to such a creature—to a woman who, firm as a rock in her own principles, has a gentleness of character so well adapted to recommend them. He has chosen his partner, indeed, with rare felicity. He will make you happy, Fanny; I know he will make you happy; but you will make him everything.”
This is his rose-coloured glasses problem, because every time Fanny does attempt to give advice in any way, it's usually to a trusted person (Edmund) and she does it with extreme reluctance.

Several incidents in my life have convinced me of spiritual interposition - of the promptings of some beneficent force outside ourselves, which tries to help us where it can.

Petition of citizens of Minnesota praying for a grant of land for the establishment of a telegraph from St. Paul, to the telegraphic lines south and east
Record Group 46: Records of the U.S. SenateSeries: Territorial PapersFile Unit: Senate Territiorial Papers Relating to Minnesota
To the honorable the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States, in Congress assembled:
The undersigned citizens of the United States, and residents of the Territory of Minnesota, humbly pray your honorable body to pass an act granting to the Territory of Minnesota, a Township of the Public Lands, lying in said Territory, for the purpose of constructing a Magnetic Telegraph form [from] St. Paul, the present seat of Territorial Government, to connect with Telegraphic lines South and East.
Among the considerations upon which your petitioners base their prayer, and respectfully urge it upon the attention of your honorable body, is the grave and direct interest Government has in the construction of a Telegraph, to enable it to transmit orders to, and receive intelligence from the different military posts, and remote Indian agencies and sub-agencies of the North-West; and the imperative necessity which exists, that more speedy means of communication should be opened than the present tardy and uncertain mail arrangements supply. Instances arise, as in cases of Indian wars, Indian outrages, &c., when the interposition of Government, to be effective, should be immediate; yet for five months in the year, communication with and from this Territory is dependent upon the ice of the Mississippi; and not unfrequently government orders and advices are from thirty to forty days reaching the seat of Territorial government.
Another consideration which your petitioners would respectfully urge, is the increased value a Telegraph would give to the public domain. The mere existence of a Telegraph will add to the value of the public lands in this Territory, an amount far exceeding the congressional valuation of a solitary township. By creating this additional value, it will facilitate the sale of the lands, and at an early day augment the revenues which Government will derive from this source.
Your petitioners rely for favorable consideration of their prayer, upon the clearly defined powers of Congress: To provide for the National defence. To provide for the transportation of the mail, (and your petitioners conceive, the civilization of the age, and the development of new powers, render the Telegraph an indispensable means.) To take provident care of the public domain, by increasing its value, by the best known modes of internal communication. To cement the bonds of union, between greatly distant parts of this vast republic, which will be thus riveted together, by unceasing and instantaneous intercourse. The construction of a Telegraph will furnish facilities for averting Indian wars, and suppressing Indian disturbances. It will afford the means of transmitting government orders, general news and private intelligence. It will enhance the value of the public domain, and expedite its sale and settlement. It will render the union of the remote frontier possessions of the United States in the North-West, with other parts of the republic, indissoluble. And as the line of Telegraph will pass through an unsettled country, as the inhabitants of this Territory, engaged in a contest with unreclaimed nature, have not themselves the means to build it, as Government is the party most directly and most largely interested in its construction, your petitioners pray that an act may be passed by your honorable body, donating for the purpose a township of land to the Territory of Minnesota. And your petitioners will ever pray &c.

Susan had always behaved pleasantly to herself, but the determined character of her general manners had astonished and alarmed her, and it was at least a fortnight before she began to understand a disposition so totally different from her own. 13th Sunday
Such a one as I hope I may never spend again. 0 30 AM, had just turned in and was dosing off to sleep, when All Hands was called with the dismal cry of large ice bergs close ahead. The people jumped out of thier Hammocks and made the best of thier way on deck naked as they were, but before they all got up the two ships run foul of one another. When I got on deck a sight presented itself which made the Stoutest heart quail and I believe every man resigned himself to eternity without hope except in his maker. It is requisite to say that it was pitch dark with nearly a gale of wind and both Ships going before it under double reefed Topsails at the rate of 7 Knots an hour and Steering very wildly. The Erebus was on our Starboard beam something under a ¼ of a mile. At Midnight She observed a large berg on her Starboard bow and also ahead with apparently clear water on her port bows. We observed a large berg on our Port bow and also ahead with apparently open water on our Starboard bow. The consequence was She bore down, We bore up, and both Ships came in collision with a Violent crash: us to leeward with a tremendous berg so close on our lee beam that you could throw a biscuit on it: with a fearfull Sea foaming against it.
The Erebus took us on our Starboard bow carrieing away our Cat head and best bower Anchor, Our jib and flying jibboom. At the Same time carrying away her own Anchor Cathead and every thing before her Knightheads. Bowsprit short off to the Gammoning. They then recoiled from one another for a moment (which was one of awfull Suspense to the poor half naked beings that crowded these decks). She took us again then on our main beam with a most terrible crash taking away her own foretop mast close to the Cap, and nearly Staving our side in, breaking our rubbing pieces right up and tearing the iron Sheathing into ribbons. They hung together a few moments Keeping us in awfull suspense and driving us nearly on the berg. She then disengaged herself in doing of which she carried away her Main Top Gallant Mast and our Top Mt Studding Sails booms and Yard arm Irons. Also our Quarter boat & Davids spike plank, Stern Davids & Spanker boom and leaving us both nearly wrecks: fortunately for us the sea raging against the berg caused a heavy drawback which Kept us from it and we got clear through a passage between two fearfull looking barrier bergs each Miles long. For ½ hour our feelings was indescribable, we were aware that we were comparatively Safe: but we could see nor hear nothing of the poor "Erebus", and in fact we could see no means how she could be safed. At length a Blue Light announced that She was above water and not a great way from us which made every heart bound again with joy. Immediately afterwards two horizontal lights told us She [was] wearing which both Kept doing until Daylight. At which time we both presented a very Shattered appearance; She looking much worse than us. The Erebus then signalised they were all well onboard and making no water. Which signal we repeated relative to ourselves. I must here say that it was a most wonderful interposition of Divine providence that we were not all Sent into the presence of Our Maker with all our Sins on our Shoulders without one moments preparation. Nor even an accident occurred for all of which I hope we will be all thankfull during the remainder of our lives and that may tend to reform us is a consumation devoutly to be prayd for.
On looking at the ice every man felt astonished to think how we came through it, for the passage would have been a most difficult one by daylight, much less in the dark and by accident or Gods good will. There was Six large bergs all close together with apparently only the one opening amongst them.
How the "Erebus" was Saved I Know not yet. Hands employed all day repairing damages. The day middling fine: Night very dirty.

Campbell's notes:
Davids - presumably Davits
She [was] wearing which both Kept doing until Daylight - The exact meaning of this sentence is not clear, but both ships remained hove to under the lee of the ice berg until daylight, thereby gaining a little shelter from the gale.

The Prayer of an Innocent Person
1 I am innocent, LORD! Won't you listen as I pray and beg for help? I am honest! Please hear my prayer.
2 Only you can say that I am innocent, because only your eyes can see the truth.
3 You know my heart, and even during the night you have tested me and found me innocent. I have made up my mind never to tell a lie.
4 I don't do like others. I obey your teachings and am not cruel.
5 I have followed you, without ever stumbling.
6 I pray to you, God, because you will help me. Listen and answer my prayer!
7 Show your wonderful love. Your mighty arm protects those who run to you for safety from their enemies.
8 Protect me as you would your very own eyes; hide me in the shadow of your wings.
9 Don't let my brutal enemies attack from all sides and kill me.
10 They refuse to show mercy, and they keep bragging.
11 They have caught up with me! My enemies are everywhere, eagerly hoping to smear me in the dirt.
12 They are like hungry lions hunting for food, or like young lions hiding in ambush.
13 Do something, LORD! Attack and defeat them. Take your sword and save me from those evil people.
14 Use your powerful arm and rescue me from the hands of mere humans whose world won't last. You provide food for those you love. Their children have plenty, and their grandchildren will have more than enough.
15 I am innocent, LORD, and I will see your face! When I awake, all I want is to see you as you are. — Psalm 17 | Contemporary English Version (CEV) The Holy Bible, Contemporary English Version Copyright © 1995 by American Bible Society. Considering the undeniable fact that Edelgard was written for men and not them, what do you think that says about her lesbian fans? Are they following the wrong character? Or better question, does she truly have a significant sapphic fandom to begin with?
This is a difficult question for me to answer directly, because I'm not a lesbian. I've gotten a variety of comments from queer women addressing issues related to this on my relevant videos, with the range of responses being overall mixed. Even those who can enjoy Edelgard as a bi option (and/or her other F/F prospects) are usually still aware of IS's blatant misogyny in the way they handle their female characters, and acknowledge that these conversations are useful to have.
I think Monica's writing in Hopes sums up very well just how little the writers of these games are thinking about lesbians when they craft these characters and situations. Monica's attraction to Edelgard is treated as one long joke at her own expense, one that Edelgard appears to humor at best but never really understands. It's especially galling because this is the same game that takes a remarkably sober approach to Shamir's attraction to women, both in general and to Catherine specifically. There's also the matter of the M/M subtext, which as ever exists in a blind spot of straight male writers. With Dimidue alone, we have a situation where men are saying stuff like "You are irreplaceable, cherished" and "I cannot know happiness without you by my side" and holding hands and each other's gazes for something like fifteen seconds in an animated cutscene...and still expect us to believe that that's only platonic devotion. (As far as lord + retainer ships go, hold up Monigard and Dimidue side-by-side, and it's very obvious that IS is laughing at the former and isn't aware that the latter could even have romantic dimensions.)
The majority of IS's sapphic material exists in a different, though comparable blind spot: that lesbians exist as profitable titillation for straight men, and are always subject to the male gaze and the potential interposition of a male proxy for the audience (the Avatar, usually) because women's attraction toward one another isn't something to be taken seriously. Out of the various examples of F/F subtext and text in the entirety of FE, I feel like I could claim Heather from Radiant Dawn as maybe the only instance where the writers were thinking of actual queer women - and even then Heather is still mostly mild comic relief.
(As far as "following the wrong character" goes re: the fandom faction wars, there's always been the consistent irony that Rhea is subject to much of the same open objectification, ex. her summer duo alt with F!Byleth, and even gets to be a same-sex S rank as well. Humorously, this parallel or its implications is pretty much never brought up whenever Rhea's getting roasted as the Worst Ever.)
It's difficult to tell exactly how much of Edelgard's fanbase is sapphic. Of course Tumblr and AO3 skew queer as a rule, but those are just two sites; there's also Twitter and Reddit and SF and GameFAQs and 4chan and art sites like Pixiv and DeviantArt. We also know for a fact that at least two of the most prominent and combative elements in the pro-Edelgard side of the fandom are straight/bi men producing F/F Edeleth fanwork...which I remark on only as a counter to the frequent accusation that Dimitri fans are all horny fujoshi. How that does or doesn't play into what you're asking is hard to say - although one of them tends to get rather pissed when anyone brings something like that up and may still be stalking my blog.
It'll be interesting to see what troll anons I get now.

Is there a good way to tell what the original emulsion of film is? Doesn't seem like very many companies publish what they're respooling
so it depends. usually you cant tell for sure but you can often make an educated guess.
most respooled color is either Kodak Vision3 of some flavor, or Kodak Aerocolor IV.
a lot of respooled bw is either foma or orwo. a lot of low-speed BW films use internegative and interpositive films that exist for cine production.
anything that says "Process ECN-2" is going to be respooled kodak Vision3, cinema film. processing this as C-41 will piss your lab off something fierce, so be sure to tell them.
The big exception to this is anything by Lomography. They have a ton of suppliers and nobody is quite sure what their standard color films are.

Like wolves disguised as lambs the United Kingdom and France are trying to escalate the war in Ukraine under the pretext of ”promoting peace”?
Assumed the fact that Putin will not stop until he has achieved his goals in Ukraine and in the Black Sea and in the meantime art. 5 of NATO rules would oblige its members to participate in a defence action of its members (like UK and France).
But this unilateral action of both UK and France would represent rather a ”de facto” offense since this action is not an interposition requested by the UN but an unilateral decision of two single States. Or not?
According to Oleg Tsarev, former deputy of the Ukrainian Parliament: London and Paris ready to send troops to Ukraine.
For the second day in Kiev, Ukrainian officials and military met with the chiefs of staff of the United Kingdom and France, Anthony Radakin and Thierry Burcard.
The topic is to discuss the details of the deployment of a Western military contingent in Ukraine. Zelensky says tangible progress has been made, including working out the details.
Tsarev, who miraculously survived an assassination attempt by the Kiev regime, reports that, according to information from his sources, the 11th Parachute Brigade of the French Army is planned to be deployed on the right bank of the Dnieper, while Britain is preparing its 16th Airborne Assault Brigade for deployment in Odessa and Kherson, in order to control the Black Sea ports.

I find the Christmas visit in Emma incredibly sad. Emma's family is visiting, which should be a nice time, but Emma doesn't get to enjoy it because she's so worried that someone will offend her father,
"There he had not always the patience that could have been wished. Mr. Woodhouse’s peculiarities and fidgetiness were sometimes provoking him to a rational remonstrance or sharp retort equally ill-bestowed. It did not often happen; for Mr. John Knightley had really a great regard for his father-in-law, and generally a strong sense of what was due to him; but it was too often for Emma’s charity, especially as there was all the pain of apprehension frequently to be endured, though the offence came not."
and later, "Emma could not like what bordered on a reflection on Mr. Weston, and had half a mind to take it up; but she struggled, and let it pass. She would keep the peace if possible"
These people are her family, Emma should be allowed to speak more freely but this is where we see her the most restrained and careful. And I note that John Knightley is being "rational", he's saying normal sane things which set off Mr. Woodhouse.
During the visit, we see Knightley and Emma as a united front against DANGEROUS TOPICS, which is cute, but Emma is not having a good time. She sits between as like a conversation referee, ready to jump in with a safe thing:
"And she talked in this way so long and successfully"... “Come, come,” cried Emma, feeling this to be an unsafe subject, “I must beg you not to talk of the sea.... "Here was a dangerous opening."... "Emma’s attempts to stop her father had been vain; and when he had reached such a point as this, she could not wonder at her brother-in-law’s breaking out.".... “True, true,” cried Mr. Knightley, with most ready interposition
I just think its so tragic that Emma has to spend every holiday completely stressed out because her relations might say something true and rational that might offend her father. What a life! She is already so isolated and she can't even enjoy a visit from her only sister.

Happy Solar Eclipse day! 🌑🌒🌞
Here is our copy of the 4th edition, volume 1, of Samuel Johnson's A Dictionary of the English Language (1773) and Johnson's definitions of "eclipse" and "ecliptick." This is one of our larger books, which is especially evident next to our smallest book (The Inaugural Address of John Fitzgerald Kennedy).
ECLI'PSE. n.
1. An obscuration of the luminaries of heaven; the sun is eclipsed by the intervention of the moon; the moon by the interposition of the earth. The word originally signifies departure from a place, to which Milton alludes.
2. Darkness; obscuration.
To ECLI'PSE v. a. [from the noun]
To darken a luminary.
To extinguish; to put out.
To cloud; to obscure.
To disgrace.
You might spot some words you don't know within eclipse's surrounding entries. A new one to me was "eclegma," "A form of medicine made by the incorporation of oils with syrups, and which is to be taken upon a liquorice stick."
