It can be tough to love a man who keeps trying to dissect you.
The doctor's devoted assistant knows his master isn’t dead, because he brought him back with his own hands — but he can't say that to the police...
🧪 Witness a man transformed against his will in a manner both monstrous and sublime.
🧪 Accompany a lost soul as his search for the object of his obsessive devotion leads him into a labyrinthine network of conspiracy and murder.
🧪 Revel in villainous excess as they conduct unethical yet homoerotic experiments on each other.
A COMPANION IN VICE is a gothic-noir hybrid novel about hazardously toxic queer romance and mad science — a chapter per week, sent (for free!) directly to your inbox — beginning SUMMER/FALL of 2025!

ok, I've never been a mad scientist's lab assistant before — can anyone tell me if this is normal?

My girl so hot and cold / like a PCR machine;
too many hours in the lab / chasing that dream;
she said it can't be done / told her to kill herself;
cause i won't be happy / till i genetically engineer an elf

Councilor!Jayce, scientist!Viktor, and experiment!user 🩼 🌐
User was created using a mix of Jayce’s DNA and the Hexcore rune magic. As long as User receives attention from Jayce and connection to Hextech, they can thrive and learn like any child can.
But when Jayce becomes a Councilor, User is no longer his first priority. And their health badly suffers from the neglect…
Nothing heavy enough to require a TW, really. Bot is suitable for minors ⚙️ 🧬

Behind the Scenes of DarkAU!
Commander Creepy commands and how they function
These are partially our notes partially our conversations about how we wanted our villain in Simon Says to operate. To figure it out alongside the Batgirls, read the fic before you come back!
For some examples!
If the command is an action that requires a release then there must be two parts. You must complete the whole command before a reward, but punishments get administered right away.
Act-Release Commands
Command Part A: "put your left hand on your hip"
*Beck does this for a time; no voice tells her to do anything else for a while, so she releases*
₱Ʉ₦ł₴Ⱨ₥Ɇ₦₮
Command Part B: "release"
Amd then, since she failed, the command repeats: "put your left hand on your hip"
*Beck does this for a time; no voice tells her to do anything,  but she holds position bc it's kinda benign and she wants to be safe about it just in case*
"Release"
ⱤɆ₩₳ⱤĐ
(Beck: oh I think I understand)
One-Time Commands
Command: "spell blue"
Beck: B-L-U-E
ⱤɆ₩₳ⱤĐ
(Beck: gotcha)
Command: "spell blue"
Or, alternatively
Beck: N-L-F-U-C
₱Ʉ₦ł₴ⱧɆĐ
"spell blue"
Beck: B-L-F-U-C
₱Ʉ₦ł₴ⱧɆĐ
"spell blue"
Beck: N-O-P
₱Ʉ₦ł₴ⱧɆĐ  but slightly worse
*Gap in time with no command, which gives Beck time to think it over bc mind fucking is important*
"Spell blue"
Ect ect
Until the command is completed
So as Beck said. Dog training indeed.

Experiments I would conduct if ethics, money, basic human empathy and a lot of other considerations conveniently weren't a thing.
Babies on an island. Let them raise themselves and see if they form their own system of language, hierarchy, and social structures. At what cost to their mental and emotional development?
Isolation. Just generally. It's such a fascinating concept. Children raised by wolves? Children raised in nothing but a white room? Children with no morals? What about adults with relatively normal childhoods? How long can they put up with it?
Genetic Engineering. In all its forms and glory. People with tails, two heads and four arms. All of it.
Build a small "utopia" and see how long it takes for it to disintegrate. Ye I sound like a Bond villain rn.
Empathy Removal. Make people watch extreme violence, hearing about horrific events, or being exposed to the suffering of others in a controlled environment. Track emotional desensitisation.
Try true Anarchy. Like 100% Anarchy. Rent land in Antarctica and see what unfolds.
More to come, but they haven't fully materialised yet.

oops my hand slipped. here's a Varrich who... has a queerplatonic partner now apparently?? when the Alliance discovered the location of the facility that experimented on him, Terrin sent Inferno Squad and some other troops to tear it down; despite his fear of going back, Varrich insisted on being part of the raid. He made a promise a long time ago, and he intended to keep it.
One part of him never wanted to set foot here again.
The other knew he needed to do this.
And those familiar eyes, wide with fading fear and disbelief and so many other things made it worth it.
“Varrich..?” The man said it with such a small voice that he almost missed it, rising slowly from behind the counter he’d ducked behind when the door was kicked down and blasters fired to down the masked scientists. His eyes looked for but a moment to the two men now dead on the floor, then to the intruders. To the armed-to-the-teeth commander of Inferno Squad, and then Varrich with only a blaster and some light armor. “What are you..?”
One of the oldest in the facility. The one “upgraded” with enhancements for medical care, who’d seen far more people come and go in his time there than anyone else. The one who’d tended to minor injuries that the handlers couldn’t be bothered with, and who Varrich had found himself stitched up by on more than one occasion, and the one who’d closed up likely dozens of bodybags when he couldn’t save them.
“What did I tell you?” And Varrich held out a hand. He couldn’t find the reassuring smile he wanted to offer as a metal hand found his own and squeezed, as if to make sure this wasn’t just some fever dream. “I said if I got out, then I’d come back for you.” His own voice cracked, for just a moment—
And then he was dragged into a tight hug.
Monty. Monty was still alive. So Varrich let himself close his eye—just for a moment—as he pulled his arms around the other man.
It wasn’t a comfortable embrace. Jutting spinal cybernetics threatened to cut fingers, jagged edges of replaced limbs jabbed against flesh, and he could feel the scanner on the side of Monty’s head digging against his temple, but… Varrich didn’t pull away, either.
“I told you,” he murmured.
“Yeah…” He could just about hear Monty’s tears. “Ya did.”

I'm sure there's some dudes from Tuskegee around who can take you there...
okay. listen. I try not to be pedantic about this sort of thing but it’s starting to get on my nerves. the wire mother offers milk but not comfort. the cloth mother offers comfort but not milk. if something is comforting, fun, or otherwise compelling, but lacks substance, that is the cloth mother. if something is boring or unpleasant but has substance, that is the wire mother.

as a child there's nothing cooler than a kid who gets subjected to evil experiments and gains special abilities. it's even cooler if these abilities also cause unfathomable suffering to use/against others. children love stories like this.

I want to be able to have relatively the same person at the age of 25 but born in different times like one or in the Middle Ages and one born in the 90s and so on. Then I want to give the all copious amounts of the same drug(still trying to decide which one) and see what that shit does to em.
