The main reason why you haven't heard much about the AvA Cartoon Villain verse is that I'm horrible at actually updating any of my AUs here on Tumblr

But you've handed me a perfect opportunity to info dump and info dump I shall

Okay so, as a recap, the Cartoon Villain verse (aka the CV!verse) is an AU I created back before the start of AvM season 3 started where I wanted to be incredibly self-indulgent about the possibility of the Dark Lord ever returning so me and a couple of others on the Enthusiasts server started listing off funny saturday morning cartoon villain tropes we liked. And lo and behold, the CV!verse was created

As it stands now, the CV!verse is an AU where after the events of Showdown, Dark wakes up from being blasted into the side of the mountain and literally stumbles his way onto Purple's MAC. At this point, Purple has already made up with their villagers and is back being their king. So when Dark arrives, he sees Purple wearing a crown, decks them in the face, declares himself ruler of the castle, and them promptly passes tf out.

Purple in their utter confusion, takes Dark back to the castle and nurses him back to health. As thanks, Dark offers Purple a job as his henchman, and Purple is so amused (and quite literally has nothing better to do) agrees.

So now they're a Villain and Henchman duo who's goal is to take over Alan Becker's PC and the Color Gang (also known as the Color Lames, Dark's nickname for them) has to stop them. Additionally, despite this being created before AvM s3, I still have incorporated some elements, particularly the characters, from that season. Although, nothing is canon past AvM Lucky Blocks and that includes the current AvA arc with Victim.

Essentially, I've taken these sticks and I'm playing around with them like dolls. Some characters I've changed in terms of backstory pretty drastically because it fits in better with the AU and frankly, its funnier.

Also because of the cartoon influences, I like imagining the AU takes place in like episodic seasons.

So Season 1 would be where Chosen (whose been going around the Interweb as a Virus Hunter) ended up back on Alan's PC and after finding out Dark is still alive, agrees to mentor Second. Dark is absolutely THRILLED that Chosen is back because that means he can have his nemesis back (and he does genuinely miss him but he'll never admit it). The season would be about introducing the characters with the overarching plot being the struggle of accepting change and whether or not it's okay to accept a role that was placed upon you.

Season 2 is where we meet Victim/Vic (also known as L!Vic whose is based off of @iluvylalevu Victim) who at the end of the season is revealed to be an Alternate Dimensional Traveler. So he's not this AU's Victim. Vic ends up joining Dark and Purple on their adventures because tbh, their shenanigans are a lot of fun and he looooove silly stuff. This season is also where we're introduced to King MT, a evil genius inventor in the field of robotics (who is also very divorced and sometimes Gold will stop by to help out). King doesn't actually appear (aside from a few mentions) until the end of the season. This season would focus on expanding the world of the AU, going over some sticks new backstories (Purple's parents are still alive and the family is not broken!!) while the overarching plot would be dealing with the feelings of not belonging and of being replaced.

Season 3 is where we get into dabbling with Alternate Universe stuff. Because at the end of Season 2, Vic goes back to his own universe and that inspires Dark to start looking into how to travel into other universe. Due to this tampering with reality, a new character appears on Alan's PC who happens to be a ghost stick figure named "Shade". So while Dark is doing AU theory, the Color Gang is looking for clues as to who "Shade" is and why xir bound to the desktop. By the end of the season, Dark figures out dimensional travel and its revealed that "Shade" is this AU's version of Victim who at remembering xir past, pulls an "Aggie Prenderghast from Paranorman" and starts destroying the desktop. Dark, Purple, the Color Gang, and Chosen have to escape into L!Vic's dimension to avoid the fallout. This season's main theme is the yearning for something new and the grief of the past.

Season 4, the group heads back and through the power of friendship (and promises of forgiveness and second chances), they manage to calm Victim down, who decides xe like the name Shade better. And honestly, that's as far as I got. This would also be the point where CV!Dark starts visiting other AvA AUs for fun (like how the CV!Trio visited my AvA Mafia AU ^^)

But yeah, that's about it. An overview of the AU!

Honestly, if anyone wants I'd be more than happy to info dump about any specific things about the AU. Like characters, character relationships, any episode ideas. That kinda stuff

I want to see you do a DpxDC Soulmate AU where you hear thoughts with Danny and Tim if that's possible.

Tim Drake knew who Batman was. No one else knew.

... Except for his soulmate Danny Fenton but he could keep a secret. He always kept Tim's before! Like how he helped Tim hack into the school records so they could meet up in Amity Park. Tim loved the Fenton family and adored visiting when he could. (He didn't notice for a while how angry Maddie and Jack got about the Drake parents who were never around for their son.)

Danny was so awesome, and had so many cool invention ideas. Tim's parents didn't like the fact he had a 'son of nutjob inventors' as a soulmate but Mrs. Mac had told some people about Danny before they found out, so they couldn't hide it. Tim hated that they wanted to, and it was the first time he admitted his parents sucked.

Tim loved Danny, which was why he'd run it past the other about taking up Robin when Batman was going down a bad road. Danny cautioned that it might be more trickier then he thought, getting permission to tell the loving Fenton parents about what Tim wanted.

In return they showed up to basically kidnap Batman and make him sit through therapy with their daughter Jazz. Danny and Tim watched with popcorn made by Alfred who basically had the attitude of 'might as well'. It did lead to Tim getting the Robin position with the Fentons dropping in to keep Bruce from going overboard.

So, maybe more then just one person knew, but Tim was pleased with that.

Then when they were fourteen, Danny became Phantom.

That was... an experience. Hearing his soulmate's mental screaming, screaming himself and then... Danny was a ghost. Tim could still hear him but only faintly in ghost form. It was scary for Tim to hear that, and he was frightened one day his soulmate's voice would completely fade. At least Tim could get Danny back up. (Even if Danny was a bit annoyed that John Constantine turned out to be his parents third soulmate who avoided them in fear of what harm he could bring which turned out to be why they built the portal, to try and get him over to speak with them. That was a mess.)

Tim loved Danny, and looked forward to the boy coming to Titan's Tower to meet the team. He was bringing his friends with him, so that they could all discuss how to best work together if any of the ghosts escape Amity before Danny could deal with them. After Vortex, it was just smart to do so.

Jonesy was all too-ready to strap into the exosuit.

Virgil and Brains had taken his measurements - so many measurements, to the point where it had become a borderline annoyance. That was, until the final suit had been unveiled. It wore like a glove - a state-of-the-art glove worth more than his entire flat. And oh...OH had it been fun to use in training.

Tam was strapping into her jet pack - the only one of them who had shown promise at mastering the bat-shit crazy device during training. Jonesy had given his own reenactment of Neville Longbottom flying a broom. The jetpack initially fired too much, and then, too little; dropping him a small height onto his rear.

"Just a tad more sensitive than the firetruck then?"

He gave an impish grin and rubbed his bruised backside.

Mac had passed on the chance to use the confounded contraption after that; but Tam, never one to shy from a challenge, had donned the pack, only to make it look easy.

"This is so much fun!"

"Looks it! I worked out all the bugs for you on my go!"

Jonesy smiled at the memory.

Her joy had been contagious, and it had been nice to see her elated smile mirrored on the Tracy brothers faces as they watched.

He'd only really met Virgil beforehand. It was at the Crystal Spire in London when brainiac, Yost, managed to set his own building alight.

Virgil had saved all their asses, several times, that callout.

"Say, Virgil? What was that badass Ironman suit you used to lift those rocks off Mac, in London?"

"You mean the exosuit?"

"Sure. Erm...do we get to try out one of those in our training?"

"I mean, I don't have anything against you learning how to use it-"

"I'm sensing a but..."

"But... it's made to my measurements, and I'm somewhat larger than yourself."

"Alright show-off," he'd grinned.

"I better get squeezing me some extra gym sessions in!"

"No objections here!" Mac winked.

"Oi, I'm gorgeous as is! Have to give the other guys a chance, is all."

Jonesy had thought that would be the end of it.

Brains, the Island's resident engineer, inventor and down-right genius, had decided to upgrade their London fire uniforms. Their design was kept the same, as to not give cause for others in the firehouse to ask questions. Everyone in Phoenix had their measurements taken, so it had come as a complete surprise when his very own exosuit was unveiled.

He hadn't ever expected the need to wear it for real - well, a real life rescue.

Jonesy looked around the cabin; studious, contemplative, worried.

Tycho; typing God-knows what on his Tony Stark-esque device. Col. Casey and Captain McCready, busy analyzing a holoprojection of the island.

He leant towards to his best friend; Tam. Her worry was obvious. Perhaps not to everybody, but he knew her. He knew how much she had connected with the Tracy family during her training; their backstory not too dissimilar to her own. Not so much the rockets, and fantasy island; but growing up with only one parent, only to lose the other much too early in life.

He leant over and took Tam's hand.

"Hey. They'll be okay."

He gave her fingers a squeeze.

"How can you know?"

"Because I. am. Iron. Man!"

Jonesy whispered emphatically, flexing the suit with a small hydraulic whine.

Tam shoved him with a smile.

Mac rolled his eyes.

McCready glared at him through the holoprojection of Tracy Island.

On June 17th 1823 Charles Macintosh patented the waterproof cloth he was using to make raincoats.

While he was trying to find uses for the waste products of gasworks, Charle discovered that coal-tar naphtha dissolved india rubber. He took wool cloth and painted one side with the dissolved rubber preparation and placed another layer of wool cloth on top.

This created the first practical waterproof fabric, but the fabric was not perfect. It was easy to puncture when it was seamed, the natural oil in wool caused the rubber cement to deteriorate. In cold weather the fabric became stiffer and in hot weather the fabric became sticky. When vulcanized rubber was invented in 1839, Macintosh's fabrics improved since the new rubber could withstand temperature changes.

Of course just because you patent something it does not mean you actually were the first to invent it, controversy has followed the invention of the telephone since Alexander Graham Bell patented it, other inventions were questioned, the tyre, the television and the bicycle, all connected to Scotland and all have earlier versions that were thought of, or made beforehand, the “Mac” is no different.

James Syme, a surgeon and chemist based in Edinburgh, had discovered a derivative of coal tar (naphtha) could dissolve rubber and published his findings in Thomson's Annals of Philosophy five years before Macintosh came up with his idea.

It was the same process used by Macintosh following his own chemistry experiments with waste from Glasgow’s coal-gas works, and it has been claimed that the inventor had read Syme’s work before developing it for his own uses.

While Syme, uninterested in commercial matters, failed to patent his valuable discovery and continued to build a noteworthy career in surgery, Macintosh stamped his name on the idea in 1823, had Syme done so you might be calling the coats Symes.....it doesn’t have the same ring does it? Syme’s paper had not detailed the crucial sandwich-type construction employed by Macintosh, although this too was not completely new.

Spanish scientists previously used the method to make leak-proof containers for mercury, and renowned British balloonist Charles Green made a balloon envelope that applied the same principle in 1821.

French scientists also made balloons gas-tight and impermeable by impregnating fabric with rubber dissolved in turpentine and the use of rubber to waterproof fabric dates back to the Aztecs, who used natural latex.

But what made Macintosh’s invention revolutionary was its ease of manufacture and wear, seeing him swiftly launching into the production of cloth to be converted into coats and other garments by tailors in Glasgow.

Some of you might have picked up on the different spelling of the names in the first two paragraphs? Others will now be scrolling back to see what I mean! Well when As news of his invention spread, the repeated misspelling of the inventor’s name is thought to have popularised the description of the resulting coat as a “Mackintosh” – a name that has stuck to the present day. The spelling "Mackintosh" is the original and more common way to refer to the waterproof coat, though "macintosh" is also used and considered acceptable. The shorter version, "mac," is widely used as a colloquial term for any raincoat.Macintosh was elected as a fellow of the Royal Society for his contributions to chemistry and enjoyed considerable success before his death in 1843, aged 76.

First sold in 1824, his coat remains on the market in numerous forms across the world, it is now primarily a luxury brand still bearing its inventor’s name, even though it is spelled wrong!

William and Rain end up partnering up, the two coming together to survive after William left the company, having to leave for his safety as his age and outdated shell and software led to him beginning to fall apart, not able to withstand battle.

They join Pluto’s crew officially, mostly out of desperation for a bit more money since repairs and stuff have been more expensive as of late due to the rise in them as well as lack of resources

Looking a little more robotic then usual, but it was found out he is alive. Sort of.

Misty Monsoon

While alive she may be, no one can find them, they’ve gone missing. Though reports have shown heavy and rapid weather changes in certain areas around toontown.

Mary Anna

Mary quit COGS inc, due to both her heavy concerns for the pollution, how awful everything has been, and to make more time to search for Misty. She has been leading the search for a few months now, but no one has been able to find Misty.

HWLR: Future AU ✨

Cooper “Coop” Feng is the current Hot Wheels City racing champion, having held the title since he was old enough to join the city’s biggest racing cup! Still charismatic and confident, Coop is finding it a little harder now that he isn’t around all of his friends 24/7, but his spirit is yet to be extinguished. Coop is trying his best to balance professional life- being in the spotlight, chased around by fans and brands yearning for more of him, as well as his changing relationships, including feeling isolated from his friends, and his ever-complicated bond with racing rival Cruise.

Cruise Rearview is Coop’s greatest rival on the track- she’s fast, determined and undeniably talented, but still yet to best him. Her relationship with her father is strained at best, after she made the decision to pursue racing full-time, against his wishes. (Perhaps he should have thought about this before training her to be a racer!) Cruise is trying her best to turn a fresh page, and be a better person, but that is hard when people expect her to play the racing persona of “villain” even when she’s off the tracks.

Mackenzie “Mac” Caliper loves his job as a stunt driver. Rather than racing, he gets to show off all of his best stunts and tricks to arenas full of adoring fans. From cars, to monster trucks, and even a bike or two, he’s tried it all. When he’s doing stunts, Mac feels his best. In his spare time, Mac has picked up a bit of mechanic work, learning some skills from Spark. He loves to work on his jump trucks to make sure they are in top shape.

Samantha “Spark” Turner has become an inventor, putting her bright mind to use at every chance she can get. She makes everything, from new Power-Ups, boosters, and even cars! Spark also has a tendency to isolate and overwork herself to a concerning degree, disappearing into her lab for days when she’s especially invested in a project. She insists, everything must work perfectly, and she won’t rest until they do!

ASJJSAJKASJKAS OKAY SO this ask had been sitting in my drafts for a while!! Honestly i love combining the most different possible hyperfixations so this sounds like it could be such a fun idea/design fuel!!

If we ignore the cursed part that this means placing Chicken Run characters in the League of Legends universe LMFAO I could totally imagine like. Ginger being in a similar role to Vi! A hotheaded tough-as-nails Zaunite girl who values protecting her family/community over everything <3 Maybe even wielding a Chem weapon that looks like her signature spoon in the CR movie.

Mac could be an inventor specializing in Chemtech, who fixes up Ginger's weapons and helps build prosthetics for the community :) Meanwhile Rocky could be a himbo circus performer from either Piltover or somewhere else in Runeterra. Either way he is absolutely out of his element in Zaun and gets mugged on his first day SDJKDSJSD

Meanwhile if we go with the Aardman fandom's common headcanons of Mrs Tweedy being from an once rich family that went bankrupt, I can imagine her and Willard in the Arcane universe being like. residents of Zaun, but Melisha knows her family had origins in Piltover elite, so she is desperate to regain that status. So she became a ruthless fearsome Chembaron, wearing that kickass cyberpunk/steampunk mix fashion and oh goddd why do I wanna draw that now (why can I also imagine her being coked up on Shimmer and swinging Hextech axes, and yup she and Ginger would absolutely have a showdown byyyye)

while Dr. Fry is her personal Singed, unhinged mad doctor cooking up Shimmer and who likes causing problems on purpose

in fact maybe this makes the chickens the local Firelights :^)

also i WAS going to say "Wallace and Gromit are local inventors" but then i imagined Wallace as Viktor going through the glorious evolution arc and i started cackling SFKJFJKDSJKDJSK

Yo!!! Y'know that one character sheet of puppycat and his crew as the space outlaws? Yea I tried to recreate that with this silly gang.

I'm personally quite happy with how these designs turned out (though Tripitaka is still Tripitaka but just small-) I added cloud buttons to the hanfu and like shoulder paldrons or something to make it look more like a captain's coat.

I also noticed the moon and stars motif on puppycat and decided to replace that with suns and clouds. Including the ring. I hope the scarf looks cool and not too dorky.

With Macaque, I pretty much just took off his sleeves shoes and put clouds on his pants as well as the lantern around his belt. His six ears are a nice substitute for Violet's wings though

The flowers are inspired after peach blossoms and warmer colour scheme like wukong's. (I also noticed the yellow outlines on the original flowers so I gave these a blue outline)

So yeah, Tripitaka is now the smart inventor kid of the crew and in this au he and Mac get on quite well. I imagine he's a combo of a tech genius and also like magic genius I guess? Explains how he made MK anyway...

Oh yeah! He also plays the role of Mk's dad here with his magic juju and stuff...

I know there's a small cat and fish guy on the og crew but I can't really think of anyone who can fit their roles so maybe three is best

really what is there to say about this one. my favorite play of all time, has shaped so much of not just how i write but how i think. i know it back to front and even minor pieces of it are so canonical to me that i reference them (and people don't know what i'm talking about) (mormons and hot dogs).

the love song of j. robert oppenheimer - carson kreitzer

this play is SO WEIRD and SO GOOD and SO WEIRD. j. robert oppenheimer, the inventor of the atomic bomb, is visited by Midrashic Demon Lilith ... i truly can't even describe this play in any way that would matter so if this interests you even in the slightest go read it right now (i'm sure there's pdfs to be found)

well i mean. come on. just an absolutely fantastic play about a band (totally not fleetwood mac) recording an album (totally not rumours) in the late 70s with all of the cocaine and bell-bottoms that entails. god i fucking love this play. i love it i love it i love it.

this one takes place over the course of a photo shoot, where a young black woman is photographing her late (white, also a photographer) boyfriend's mother not very long after his suicide. really (ha!) love what this play does with time and place and what it has to say about doing art and living with loss. this is one of this playwright's more minor works i think, but it's the one for me ...

the baltimore waltz - paula vogel

i absolutely had to include a paula vogel play on this list, and i was going back and forth between indecent and this, but i'm going with baltimore waltz because i have terminal deep-cut brain and also because this one just sticks in my brain. i love the way this play uses silliness (atd - "acquired toilet disease", the bunny) in service of its story.

On June 17th 1823 Charles Macintosh patented the waterproof cloth he was using to make raincoats.

Mackintosh rubberized coats were not immediately successful. Although they were waterproof, they had a strong smell which most wearers found unpleasant. It was not until a fellow chemist, Thomas Hancock, invented a process involving vulcanized rubber that the problem was solved. Hancock became a partner in Macintosh’s business in 1834. This marked the real start of the iconic Mackintosh brand.

In 1824 an Arctic exploration team trialled rubber coated waterproof canvas bags, air-beds and pillows made by the Macintosh patented process. In 1841 the British army ordered waterproof clothing for all its troops. The rubberized coats and capes were functional and hard wearing and they soon became standard army issue.

After the death of Charles Macintosh in 1843, the company had a period of decline. But in 1851 the Mackintosh coat was shown at The Grand Exhibition at Crystal Palace, London. And the rest is history.

Of course just because you patent something it does not mean you actually were the first to invent it, controversy has followed the invention of the telephone since Alexander Graham Bell patented it, other inventions were questioned, the tyre, the television and the bicycle, all connected to Scotland and all have earlier versions that were thought of, or made beforehand, the “Mac” is no different.

James Syme, a surgeon and chemist based in Edinburgh, had discovered a derivative of coal tar (naphtha) could dissolve rubber and published his findings in Thomson's Annals of Philosophy five years before Macintosh came up with his idea.

It was the same process used by Macintosh following his own chemistry experiments with waste from Glasgow’s coal-gas works, and it has been claimed that the inventor had read Syme’s work before developing it for his own uses.

While Syme, uninterested in commercial matters, failed to patent his valuable discovery and continued to build a noteworthy career in surgery, Macintosh stamped his name on the idea in 1823, had Syme done so you might be calling the coats Symes.....it doesn’t have the same ring does it? Syme’s paper had not detailed the crucial sandwich-type construction employed by Macintosh, although this too was not completely new.

Spanish scientists previously used the method to make leak-proof containers for mercury, and renowned British balloonist Charles Green made a balloon envelope that applied the same principle in 1821.

French scientists also made balloons gas-tight and impermeable by impregnating fabric with rubber dissolved in turpentine and the use of rubber to waterproof fabric dates back to the Aztecs, who used natural latex.

But what made Macintosh’s invention revolutionary was its ease of manufacture and wear, seeing him swiftly launching into the production of cloth to be converted into coats and other garments by tailors in Glasgow.

Some of you might have picked up on the different spelling of the names in the first two paragraphs? Others will now be scrolling back to see what I mean! Well when As news of his invention spread, the repeated misspelling of the inventor’s name is thought to have popularised the description of the resulting coat as a “Mackintosh” – a name that has stuck to the present day.

Macintosh was elected as a fellow of the Royal Society for his contributions to chemistry and enjoyed considerable success before his death in 1843, aged 76.

First sold in 1824, his coat remains on the market in numerous forms across the world, it is now primarily a luxury brand still bearing its inventor’s name, even though it is spelled wrong!

CATRIONA COUSLAND, d.ragon age origins. non-warden sibling of the warden, (barely) survives the attack on castle cousland because one of the few remaining guards pulls her out of the rubble and gets her into hiding. ser ailsa becomes cat's closest friend and protector. was never really a fighter anyway, but she becomes disabled as a result of the attack, and cannot fight. spends the blight living under the identity of nell mather, between highever and denerim, working to help those mistreated by howe's barbaric rule and struggling as darkspawn refugees; she organises prison breaks, sets up an underground hospital, enlists her mac eanraig family to smuggle in supplies. spends most of the blight thinking she's the last remaining cousland, til she discovers her warden sibling by accident; cannot see them for the longest time because she's nell now, she can't be cat. but eventually they reunite, and she helps by sending them info on howe's/darkspawn movements and rallying support of highever's vassal houses. is very much Not Okay after the blight.

F.RED B.URKLE, angel. rescued from being trapped in a demon hell dimension for five years, becomes the resident scientist, mathematician, computer whiz, and inventor of angel investigations, an LA-based private detective agency that specialises in vampires, demons, magic, and general weirdness. highly intelligent, cannot stop talking, easily underestimated, and an absolute survivor in any kind of awful circumstances, fred is kindhearted but has a lot of inner strength, and a vengeful streak. she's not really a fighter, but uses her innocence and ability to hide to throw people off. we don't talk about illyria i'm not there yet in my rewatch.
