Jacinta "Jae" Freitas Carvalho (RO - HAWKS)
Tumblr media
Jacinta “Jae” Freitas Carvalho | 28 | Specialist | Bloody Puppetry | Codename: Mare | Full Romance
As the wildcard among the HAWKS, Jae toes the line between playful spontaneity and troublesome rebellion. There’s a chance that you’ll be charmed by her humorous teasing, or maybe you will come to love her fierce independence.
Jae attracts trouble and mayhem with her fun-seeking antics, much to the chagrin of those around her. She is liberated by her carelessness, uplifted by her recklessness, when she has no one to command or lord over her. All Jae truly seeks is a good time, maybe some good company too, as she drifts from moment to moment in her miraculous life. Responsibilities lay little claim over her as she prizes her freedom above all else. She is open about her love for laughter and mischief and has no hesitation towards getting her hands dirty if there's something in it for her. As time goes on, Jae tries to cling to a more childish sense of unreserved adventure even as cynicism stains more and more of her thoughts.
Jacinta cannot remember the early years she spent under her parents’ care before her maternal grandparents were granted full custody. Her mother was a fleeting presence in her life that seemed to love her, though she isn’t entirely sure about that to this day. The few memories she has of her father mostly consist of her extended family barricading him away from her or trying to drag him out of sight. He would leave sloppy letters and music sheets on her windowsill or beneath the pews where she attended Sunday Mass, and she soon made a game of finding his notes in the oddest places before her grandmother could use the paper for small fires.
More than anything, Jacinta adored her grandparents. Her grandfather did little more than smoke and drink outside his working hours, but his gruff exhaustion amused her to no end. He taught her practical skills to be self-sufficient as their little house bordered on poverty and guided her in the ways of detecting the most innocent dangers in their chaotic world. Her grandmother was a gossip-loving disciplinarian of strict faith and scrupulous morals - or so the old woman liked to believe. And though Jacinta underwent her fair share of rebellion, she admired no one more than her passionate and youthful grandmother.
It was this rebellious stage that kept her out of the house when their murders occurred. From then on, Jae scavenged for herself in the favelas of Brazil. It was a difficult life that she hardened herself into finding joy within. Her companions became less and less reputable as the years passed, but she swayed around their nefarious activities and honest work while still indulging in the profitable luxury they brought. Her beauty earned her enough admirers to be content and paved the way for brief success as a model of some renown. These chaotic years were largely defined by her lowest points, loose connections, and looser morals.
Jae did not let her gift go to waste either. She partook in her fair share of extortion and manipulation when the pressure on her loyalties became too great to ignore. One scheme of hers involved marrying a respectable criminal who’d fallen for her to ensure her safety among these vicious friends, but the union ended in a quick and heated manner. Her true solace was in the festive lifestyle of endless parties and fearless escapades around her native country - and though she feared stepping outside the nation’s borders, she dabbled in a few paid-for outings abroad as well. Alas, her tenuous stance among her compatriots came to a violent end once her affairs became too complex to navigate and the HAWKS were sent word of her existence and true nature.
With how her capture unfolded, she can take some small comfort in knowing that no one can say she went down without a fight.
Jae stands at 5’8 ½”, but still likes to accentuate her height with thin heels or knee-length boots. (Especially if it means she can tease Elouan all the more.) Her pride and joy rests in her tight curls of deep brown that frame her face like the mane of a lioness as they cascade down below her shoulders. (Niccolò keeps correcting her by saying that female lions don't have manes, but she eloquently responds with a raspberry and a few wiggles of her nose.) Her upturned eyes bear a deep green shade she akins to grape vines, and its rich color is all the more emphasized by the dark tan of her skin. Long lashes and plump lips further add to her beauty alongside her groomed brows and subtle curves. (Her beauty routine has become quite extensive, especially since her grandmother shared a fondness for appearances.) Jae is fond of bootcut and skinny jeans fastened by a braided leather belt that she pairs with vibrantly colored halter tops. Her jewelry consists solely of family heirlooms inherited from her maternal grandmother - mainly consisting of cheap earrings, simple pendants, and a few bracelets. As a sentimental token, Jae wears her grandmother's wedding on her left hand, but only during days for recreation. She isn't particularly muscular but does maintain a fit physique with some softness. Jae would rather settle disputes with words rather than violence anyways. And if words fail her, then her dexterity has better uses than brute strength. Her body has become decorated in an assortment of colorful tattoos across her skin, but their lack of upkeep while within the HAWKS has made them somewhat faded. Her neck, shoulders, chest, and a slight portion of her upper back bear the entangled design of thorned roses with a smiling skull acting as the centerpiece on her chest. Her forearms are decorated in the design of spreading vines, and her right leg features a large dark serpent curling around the limb. A full-back portrait of two Rufous-bellied Thrushes perched upon branches, surrounded by green leaves and sunset, is her favorite addition to her body.
Jae rarely finds herself in committed relationships. Her past partners would say that she fears commitment. She would laugh it off, divert the conversation, and then cut off all contact when those discussions became too serious for her liking. Relationships have always, above all, been about fun and pleasure for her up to this point. Life has always been too uncertain to set roots anywhere, and the one time she thought she could do that ended like a dumpster fire. She doesn't like to think of herself as self-destructive once a relationship begins to mean too much to her. She does, however, end up hating herself for the way her relationships end more often than not before her next partner comes along to take her mind off the ache. If anything, her most stable one so far has been with Niccolò - despite the constant bickering and break-ups that occurred during their time together. Jae isn't interested in a fairytale romance or a love worthy of epic ballads. At this rate, she would much rather settle for someone who can tolerate her enough to always be a friend.
Pursuing Jae will force her to confront her prejudice against attachments. She is unnerved by the thought of having to depend upon another person. She does not want to tie someone down until they lose all love for her. Neither does she want to be smothered by another until her entire identity revolves around them. Jae wants to be with you, but she doesn't yet know how to stay with you without coming to hate herself for allowing the relationship to persist.
Familial Status: There’s no connections to consider.
Romantic Interests: Niccoló has long been her flickering flame. She has no intention of reigniting this attraction.
“Friends”: Elouan, Sigmund, Niccoló, Imka, Nasrin, Yadon, Akil, Mutya, Kamiko— she’ll take what company she can get.
Frenemies: Niccoló
Intrigued By: All CARDINALS
Tolerates: Akil
Rivals: Herself?
Jae possesses the gift to manipulate, shape, and sense the blood of all others but herself.

the ROs as poems?
Happily! This is the first time I've been able to use what I learned in a poetry class I was forced to take, so, thank you for that! 😂
Shar Patil
Requiescat by Oscar Wilde
Coffin-board, heavy stone, | Lie on her breast, | I vex my heart alone | She is at rest.
All my life’s buried here, | Heap earth upon it.
K Ishida
If I can stop one heart from breaking by Emily Dickinson
If I can stop one heart from breaking, | I shall not live in vain; | If I can ease one life the aching, | Or cool one pain, | Or help one fainting robin | Unto his nest again, | I shall not live in vain.
T Sarpong
Still I Rise by Maya Angelou
You may shoot me with your words, | You may cut me with your eyes, | You may kill me with your hatefulness, | But still, like air, I’ll rise.
Cecil Gray
Paradise Lost by John Milton
Abashed the devil stood and felt how awful goodness is and saw Virtue in her shape how lovely: and pined his loss
Which way shall I fly | Infinite wrath and infinite despair? | Which way I fly is hell; myself am hell; | And in the lowest deep a lower deep, | Still threat'ning to devour me, opens wide, | To which the hell I suffer seems a heaven.
Adonis
Alone by Edgar Allan Poe
From childhood’s hour I have not been | As others were—I have not seen | As others saw—
And all I lov’d—I lov’d alone—
Hero of Thebes
The Love Story of J Alfred Prufrock by T.S. Eliot
And indeed there will be time | To wonder, “Do I dare?” and, “Do I dare?” | Time to turn back and descend the stair,
No! I am not Prince Hamlet, nor was meant to be; | Am an attendant lord, one that will do | To swell a progress, start a scene or two, | Advise the prince; no doubt, an easy tool, | Deferential, glad to be of use, | Politic, cautious, and meticulous
BONUS - Because I was just having too much fun with this 💕
Chef Alex
L'Infinito by Giacomo Leopardi
So amongst this immensity my thought drowns: and the shipwreck is sweet to me in this sea.
Chef Julio
Do Not Go Gentle into That Good Night by Dylan Thomas
Do not go gentle into that good night, | Old age should burn and rave at close of day; | Rage, rage against the dying of the light.
Jacinta Huaman
She Walks in Beauty by Lord Byron
Which waves in every raven tress, | Or softly lightens o’er her face; | Where thoughts serenely sweet express, | How pure, how dear their dwelling-place.
Damon of Chaonia
From Sunset to Star Rise by Christina Rossetti
Go from me, summer friends, and tarry not: | I am no summer friend, but wintry cold, | A silly sheep benighted from the fold
Bill Stanley
My Last Duchess by Robert Browning
This grew; I gave commands; | Then all smiles stopped together. There she stands | As if alive.

Summary of the itinerary in brief: 5 days
Flight: Milan Orio al Serio / Porto Port – Fatima – Lisbon (day 1)
Lisbon: MORNING: Amalia Rodríguez Gardens – Eduardo VII Park – Av. De Liberdade – Praca Rossio – Elevador de Santa Justa – Bairro Alto, Baixa, Praca do Commercio; AFTERNOON Praca do Martim Moniz – Miradouro de Nossa Senhora do Monte – Castelo de Sao Jorge – Alfama – Church of Santa Engracia – EVENING: Bairro Alto (day 2)

Lisbon – Cabo da Roca – Nazarè – Porto (day 4)
Porto: tour in sightseen bus for the short time available and return to Bergamo (day 5)
In the spring of last year, before starting to write this blog, I had a very nice trip,  in fact, the destination of which many friends have spoken to me very well is Porto; I had never been to Portugal, but, before booking, I’ve decided not to stop only in this city as a destination but to go around a little bit.
so here is my itinerary Porto – Lisbon – Port of 5 days.
Oh yes, if you have a few days why limit yourself to a small city like Porto when you can rent a car with 10 Euro /day and move a little along Portugal?
We land in the morning in Porto, but our main destination for the first days is Lisbon, so after hurrying all the car rental practices we take the E1 highwayto the south; in reality the goal is to arrive in Lisbon by 18:00, making a stop along the way, as the highway passes through Fatima; there we make the first stop to visit the Sanctuary built on the place where in 1917 the Portuguese shepherds Lucia, Jacinta and Francisco began to see the Madonna.
We are lucky, the day is beautiful and the sanctuary is not crowded, we walk around the church, and in the large square and light a candle; this place so mystical, should be visited for sure if you are in the area and you will be struck by the aura of mysticism and faith that is soaked.
We get back on the road towards Lisbon that we reach even earlier than expected.
The apartment was a great solution – cheap, nice, well furnished and in a great location: here the link of the apartment on booking.com  http://www.booking.com/Share-i5KfqN
We go out for a walk around the center heading into the Baixa area for dinner and take a walk and return before midnight in the subway.
DAY 2:
The next day we have breakfast in the apartment having done a little ‘shopping in a supermarket under the house and we walk towards the center through the Amalia Rodríguez’s garden with its vantage point (you have to keep in mind that Lisbon is a city that is on various hills and is therefore all a steep up and down, but it is also rich of the so called  miradori, the panoramic terraces, from which to enjoy a view of the surrounding city from above).
We continue the walk through  Edoardo VII Park and Avenida de Liberdade (the shopping street and luxury boutiques), we are enchanted to watch some characteristic trams of this city that climb up the steep hills of the city, we pass through some squares until ‘Elevador de Santa Justa which is nothing more than a 1900 iron elevator with a panoramic terrace that served to connect the lower part to the high one of the Bairro Alto. We turn up and down these characteristic alleys of the center without a precise goal, and attention, not because we do not know where to go, but, just because Lisbon in some ways goes so well visited, getting lost and wandering through its streets. We descend from the alleys of Bairro where we have already decided to spend the evening as it is in these streets that takes place the animated nightlife of this city, and we find ourselves in the great Praça do Commercio. Here in the area we eat a sandwich before heading to Praça do Martin Moniz because from here there is the departure of the historic tram 28 which climbs up the hills of the ancient city. Arrived at the start but I have two problems, the first is that there is a crowd of tourists waiting to climb in the tram, and so I already imagine that on the tram will be like the sardines and you can hardly enjoy a nice view; the second problem is instead my ankle that starts to ache (I have removed the plaster after a fracture about two weeks before). But now I find the solution most congenial to me, on the sidewalk opposite a girl next to her motorcycle tuc tuc looks at me and smiles as she already understood what I was thinking. She beckons me to join her and after a short bargaining she offers us a two and a half hour tour with her as a guide to the tuc tuc and tour guide and with an itinerary of different stages on the hills of the ancient city, following in part the same path of the tram 28. It also warns us that in the path will make several stops where we can take off photos or visit the place. It would be 70 euros per group, we are two and we can get down to 50 euros. Given the beautiful hot day, and my ankle ache I must say with hindsight that these were the 25 euros (my share) better spent my life;
Gabriela is a very sensible girl  with an excellent knowledge of the history and the curiosities of the city and therefore she gladdens us on the path with historical notes and anecdotes. In the ride we climb to the Castelo de Sao Jorge and make a stop at the Miraduro de Nossa Senhora do Monte highest point of the city (I have to say that Without tuc tuc, seen how steep the climb, we would never have arrived there). Gabriela, offers us a fresh lemonade before leaving again through the Church of Santa Engracia (which the Portuguese call their St. Peter, given the similarity with the Vatican church) and descending towards the Alfama district . We make a few more stops before returning to the starting point. In the end it took us three hours, but we saw a lot of things, with the least effort (my ankle thanks) and at the end we leave a tip to Gabriela
We return for a shower and a nap in the apartment and go out late to have dinner and live a bit ‘of nightlife in this city. So we go in the streets of the Barrio Alto, full of pubs, bars, pubs and full of people having fun. We have dinner in a small tapas restaurant and drink a couple of beers in some very noisy places. I must say that Lisbon’s nightlife is very lively and fun.
DAY 3:
The day after we reach with the subway the Commecio square from where we will take a train to the Belem.
Once out of the train, we walk along the Tagus, from here you can enjoy a wonderful view of the 25th April Bridge one of the most famous places in Lisbon and is a bridge that recalls the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco. Continuing the walk to the famous Belem’s Tower passing  the Monument to the Discoveries. Lunch in one of the many restaurants with outdoor tables, with the time to be April we are lucky, sun and heat.
In the afternoon we will have to move  from here on the other side of the city to the Park of Nations, area of the Universal Expo of 1998, and defined the most futuristic area of the city. Here we visit the famous Oceanarium, very beautiful, worht a visit.
We are satisfied, we have seen the city far and wide, and I must say that Lisbon is one of those destinations that I have never thought of before, but that today is one of the most beautiful capitals in Europe for me. So when you think about what to visit and you can think of Paris, London, Berlin, think better because Lisbon is much much better (although the other cities are beautiful) and it is also much cheaper ..
  DAY 4:
In the morning we say goodbye to the landlord to whom we have handed the keys back, and we go back to our rented Fiat Punto; looking at the map I decided that for today instead of returning along the same highway of the first day, to make a long ocean variant and to make two stops, the first in Cabo Da Roca and the second in Nazarè before arriving in Porto our last day before returning home.
Cabo da Roca is the westernmost point of the European continent, and is nothing more than a beautiful cliff overlooking the Atlantic Ocean, which has nothing to envy to the Irish Cliffs of Mohar. While I’m taking some pictures, I hear someone calling me, and I can not help but think that the world is really small: in fact I meet some of my fellow citizens here; a chat and then off again to Nazarè where we read if the sea is rough we can see the highest waves in the world. We stop at the praja do Northe, the day is beautiful, the beautiful beach, but never seen the sea so calm in my life, so no waves.
we get going again and we reach our hotel in Porto around 17:00. We leave our belongings and immediately take a ride downtown.
Porto is a small town, famous above all for its wine cellars and with a really fascinating historical center: the Ribeira district is precisely the central area full of ancient houses, narrow cobbled streets and numerous restaurants and bars.
The numerous wine cellars, on the other side of the river, where the Port is produced.
We eat in a restaurant along the river, and taste some local wines including the Port that night falls between one glass and another. The next day, we do not have many hours, in the afternoon we have to go back to the airport, so also because of my usual ankle ache, I decide for the first time in my life to take one of those tourist sightseen buses all the way around the city. So we can see Porto being comfortable, before returning, and I must say that I am more and more convinced that I have chosen the right round, Lisbon to visit calmly and beautiful, and Porto, however pretty, does not deserve more than a couple of days maximum.
This is my first approach to Portugal, but I must say that I was pleasantly surprised, for its beauty, for people, for life, so much so that I decided to come back this summer to do a little ‘sea in the South , in the Algarve.
and you ? have you ever been to Portugal? what do you think?

En la alcoba, 7 de Abril. Seis y cinco.

Note that there is two main methods of creating the look. One is using a long, black wig, braid it and secure the braid as a crown over the head, and with a bun in the back. The other is a shorter black wig with bun in the back, and then a tiara-like construction of braided hair illuding a braid going over the hair. The former is usually done in the US, and the latter in Europe. I’m honestly not sure what is used elsewhere, but I assume one of these two methods. It also varies whether the braid is one or two tiers (or 1,5 just to built on the height in front), regardless of the method used.
