Jada Koren Pinkett Smith (September 18, 1971) is an actress, screenwriter, producer, talk show host, and businesswoman. She is known for her roles in A Different World, The Nutty Professor, The Matrix Reloaded, The Matrix Revolutions, Gotham, and Girls Trip. She began co-hosting the Facebook Watch talk show Red Table Talk, for which she has received a Daytime Emmy Award with seven nominations.

Her other notable roles include a guest appearance on the short-lived sitcom True Colors, Menace II Society, A Low Down Dirty Shame, Set It Off, Scream 2, Ali, Collateral, the Madagascar films, Hawthorne, Magic Mike XXL, Bad Moms, and Angel Has Fallen.

She launched her music career in 2002 when she helped create the heavy metal band Wicked Wisdom, for which she was a singer and songwriter. Along with her husband Will Smith, she has a production company and has had production credits in films, documentaries, and television series. She wrote a children’s book, Girls Hold Up This World, which was published in 2004.

She was the emcee of the Million Woman March.

Together with Will, she has created the Will and Jada Smith Family Foundation, a charity that focuses on youth in urban inner cities and family support. The charity was awarded the David Angell Humanitarian Award by The American Screenwriters Association. The Will and Jada Smith Family Foundation has provided grants to non-profit organizations such as YouthBuild and she has made personal donations to organizations such as Capital K-9s.
