dnd became so much more fun for me once i stopped trying to make "cool" a notable trait of my PCs. "cool" is vague, subjective, and restrictive. "calm in a crisis" or "confident" or "clever" are all easier traits to roleplay. once i stopped worrying about about coolness, their personalities became more distinct, failures became more fun, and I started making more interesting in-character choices. don't be afraid to play characters that kind of suck.

But he wasn't a na'vi like the rest, he was quarithc, why saving someone that made so much damage to Spider's friends and their family? He had Kiri under his knife not to long before, so why save him? He could leave him to drown and all their problems would have disappeared.

Why saving someone that caused so much pain? Why saving a monster? especially after all he had done. Do those six months with a monster make disappear 16 years with the sully?

I literally just told you why, but it's fun that you ignored it and sent me another dumbass ask that addressed none of what I said. I thought you were willing to listen? Listening involves actually taking in information. But, I'll try to reiterate just one of the reasons for you;

Spider is a child, and Quaritch showed care for Spider in Spider's mind. That was not something he experienced much of with the Sully's. Neytiri had a knife to Spider as well, why save her? Because Spider is a child who values life and is clearly very forgiving, and he has literal Stockholm syndrome. He acted like most people in his situation would. I really hate comparing fictional people to real life people, but you can look it up and find many a case. He'd been tortured and manipulated for months. But I'd say a real important note to focus on is that he's a cHILD.

Idk man, develop empathy I guess. I can't teach you that one. Maybe we should be mad at Jake for not being better at killing people.

I have no idea what they'll end up doing for Jake's paternity leave. And my weird lil brain has been chewing on it non stop because like the current story arc is very much in progress but they could have pre recorded things so I'm not super concerned.

But. Jake is Calder and Hardwon. So neither of those plots can get wrapped up without him and I want the payoff of him getting back out there with Bev and Moonshine. (If I got a vote which I don't but yanno).

Then it occurred to me that a side trip to get the other side of the story with Moonshine and Bev and some absolutely terrific guest (like idk Aabria for example) in the Astral Plane would be a really clever way to circle back around to Hardwon and Calder.

Like, yes please. Bev as a older seasoned fighter, Moonshine being Moonshine. Local gay disasters save universe, again. Bahumian Space Odyssey: the Search for Hardwon. I feel like it will be enjoyable whichever route they pick, but I'm rooting for a some sort of option where we get to spend time with the other two. They also lost someone important AND also lost their bestie.

(This also opens the door for a Mavrus or Apple Scrumper cameo just while I'm manifesting out here).
