"I've gone maudlin," Obi-Wan moaned, flopping over sideways on the floor of the records room. A familiar sigh came from the doorway, and Jocasta stepped past Obi-Wan to turn off the holo recording the birth of every Force-sensitive child that the Order was aware of. In the darkness of a room lit only by the emergency lighting and what came in through the crack under the door that had closed behind Jocasta she carefully lowered herself to sit on the cold stone floor next to him. "Why are we being maudlin today?" she asked, instead of asking if Obi-Wan had seen his name on the recording, yet. (He hadn't, and he was beginning to believe he never would, that he would be the only version of himself that would exist, now, because he should have joined the crèche last year, and he hadn't. He still hadn't figured out how to tell Anakin.) "I met a handsome stranger," Obi-Wan said, because if he was going to be maudlin, he was damn well going to be dramatic about it. "Ah, that sort of story," Jocasta said with humour. "Go on, then. Set the scene." Obi-Wan groaned and pushed himself back to sitting up next to her. "He's a soldier. Not really handsome in the classical sense, bit rugged, hasn't shaved in a few days. Nose a little crooked." Jocasta snorted. "Did I ever tell you about how your old master got his nose broken?" Obi-Wan couldn't stop a grin, because he had loved that story as a padawan. Tahl and Micah and Yoda had all told it very differently, and always made sure Qui-Gon was nearby, for the maximum embarrassment. Jocasta had her own spin on it, which Obi-Wan hadn't learnt until after Naboo, when she'd found him haunting the stacks with information on Sith for the sixth week straight, and had decided to tell him embarrassing stories about his late master's padawanhood, until he'd laughed so hard, he'd started to cry.

Here's an exert from a fic that I'm writing that stars Fae Obi-Wan and human Jaster in kind of an older middle aged setting.

“Iron is protection from fae,” Obi-Wan corrrected, “Of which I am. Dark or light, Sith or Jedi, you’ve prevented any fae from touching you. It doesn’t matter their intentions. It’s not as if the iron can sense them. It’s job is to burn fae. That is what it does.” “What?” Kal asked, “It will burn all fae creatures?” Obi-Wan tilted his head before shaking it. “Silly humans,” he said, “They don’t know what they’re even warding off. Yes, human, iron for fae, salt for folks. Everyone knows that. Or at least, I thought everyone knew that.” “So if we’d thrown salt at that creature—” “He would have laughed as he ate you,” Obi-Wan said flatly, “It doesn’t work like that. He was a semi-powerful folk. It’s not as if you are trying to ward off pixies. It will keep him out of your space but you cannot use it as a weapon. It stops his movements, it doesn’t do him harm.”

Slight dead dove and fucked up but that's usually what my brain at 3am produces so we roll

Only he fucks up the redo. Ends up in a different universe altogether. No anakin but as a small light hidden close to his heart. And a war between the sith and mandalore and it's allies.

Smth smth jango saves obiwan. Saves but really I've never not imagined them a little dead dovey. So it's probably a deeply codependent relationship with a little manipulation from jangos side and a little baby trapping from obiwan's (once he realises there's no way to go back, not that it matters since anakin is with him. Or will be anyway) obiwan gets to live his best life as a proper boy mom without ever worrying about what the jedi council would say about his attachments but when you're preggy and in a diff world it doesn't matter anymore.

Anyway that's about it. I haven't thought much else other than I think obiwan being anakin's biological parent has such a zing to it. Got purposefully preggy by the force and gives birth to anakin again cus he can't bear to see him ever get hurt. So that his precious boy will never feel the heat of tatooine or the harsh life of a soldier forced to fight a meaningless war or groomed by palpy.

Obi-Wan had been something of a contradiction among the Jedi--trained as he was by Qui-Gon Jinn, with an exemplary record (at least towards the end of his Padawanship) and great skill with a lightsaber, no one had expected it when he decided to “throw it all away” (in the eyes of some of the Order) to become a crechemaster.

They could not understand how stressful his younger years were, how much he longed for the simplicity of a set duty and goals. And if, perhaps, he was motivated to make sure that none of the children under his care experienced even half of what he had...that he kept unsaid, as well.

So when the surprise attack came, any Jedi present could have told the Mandalorians that Crechemaster Kenobi would fight, and fight well, to the death if need be. The Mandalorians, though, had not been expecting it.

For the younglings and their caregivers, the Mandalorians used stun bolts only, unlike for the rest of the Temple. But some quickly changed the strength on their blasters when Obi-Wan began plowing through them, with no visible hesitation and a fine hand at finding the vulnerable points on their armor.

Behind him the last of his charges were filing out, into a passageway that would be collapsed so no one could follow. It was only once that had taken place, when the small wave of the sudden explosion made the Mandalorians stumble, that Obi-Wan turned off his lightsaber and surrendered himself.

Mand’alor Jaster Mereel, who had been watching the fight with some interest, looked between the once-tunnel and the caregiver and thought he might not be the only Mando’ad there wondering if he wasn’t in love.

No one protested taking Obi-Wan alive, if over the internal comms there were some disagreements over who would be the ones to cuff him and escort him out to one of their waiting ships. Jaster pulled rank, something he rarely did, and it was the Mand’alor himself who pulled the crechemaster through the ruined halls of the Temple.

“Don’t worry, we’ll find your children,” Jaster assured him, pointedly ignoring the fact such was the last thing Obi-Wan wanted.

It might take a little time, but he thought this particular Jedi would make a brilliant Mandalorian. And would be well-worth Jango’s disapproval at having a younger step-buir.

"So, wait," said the Mandalorian who'd introduced himself as Jaster Mereel, he/him, and Obi-Wan tilted his head in a vague sort of 'I'm listening' show, without looking away from the slightly-worn, unfamiliar runic text he was in the process of taking rubbings of, "you're a...Jedi?" Obi-Wan snorted and didn't deign to answer that, given that his first reaction, when the world had stopped spinning, to finding himself and his young padawan surrounded by Mandalorians in an enclosed room, when they'd last been stepping through some open-air rubble, was light his lightsabre. "And you have a slightly feral child," Mereel continued. Obi-Wan glanced over towards Anakin, even as he opened his mouth to take offence, only to sigh and close it again, because Anakin was in the process of stalking some sort of fluorescent yellow fauna, which was at least as large as the boy's hand, one of which was holding a hunting knife that Obi-Wan suspected had been given to him by one of the watching Mandalorians. Slightly feral was...fair. Not entirely wrong.

Last Line Challenge

I was once again tagged by the fabulous @brokenphoenix99 😂😂😂 so here is another snippet from the fae JastObi I'm currently working on.

Every moment of Jaster’s life had led up to this very moment. Every day of his life had been borrowed—a day he shouldn’t have had at the expense of the lives of people who’d paid for his stolen time. He could hear the screeching of folk and fae alike—too desperate to stop Jaster to care about the boundary separating them. The sizzling rang in his ears, the stench of melted skin burning his nose as he stepped closer to the seal, unable to hide the way his hands were shaking as he looked at what should have been an unassuming tree. He could feel the power thrumming from it—the electricity from its power sending a tingling sensation up through Jaster’s boots and making it harder to stand as he swallowed, the sense of dread making his throat close up against the words he needed to speak. Jaster had always thought the moment he died would be somwhere like this—facing down a folk or a fae while he fought for his life—but somehow knowing didn’t change the feeling deep in his chest. Jaster didn’t want to die.
