a/n: day two of my birthday bash has finally arrived!! I’m so grateful for the amount of love and support you guys have given me. Although this is my birthday week, I wanted to spend it with you guys and give us both something we can enjoy :) I love every single one of you guys and I hope you like this!
Now I’m in my feels
Way up in the clouds somewhere now
Don’t know what’s real
Working at the Java Cup, Steve dealt with a lot of different people. Tired students, doctors and nurses coming and going from shifts, and everyone in between. During the six months of his employment there only one customer seemed to catch his attention, you.
From the moment you walked in he knew he was fucked. With one kid on your hip and the other in the stroller, you already had him in the palm of your hand. No matter what, rain or shine, you and your two kids always came in with bright smiles. Although a lot of your interactions were small talk or your older son trying to, his heart infatuation for you every single time.
You were so fucking beautiful and Steve was nothing but a fool for you. So many times he would go home and just pray that you weren’t taken, that maybe somewhere written in the stars there was a chance for him.
Steve wanted to ask you out but every single time he chickened out, throwing out multiple cup sleeves that had horrible puns written on them in the process. Ever since getting broken up with by Nancy, his self esteem and confidence dropped. No matter how many times his best friend and coworker, Robin, tried to talk some sense into him, he just couldn’t do it.
It was comical watching him stutter and blush scarlet every time you would speak, tripping over his words like it was his first time ever talking. Because he was so smitten with you, his insecurities grew and poking fun at him any time he would think about possibly asking you out.
Here you were, a pretty mom with two adorable kids that he adored, so sweet and kind to him, and so far out of his league. There was no pot at the end of this rainbow for Steve, but he continued to chase it in hopes that maybe, just maybe he was wrong.
Now it's been six months and Steve has run out of steam, his legs growing tired and his lungs burning with exhaustion with how long he's been running. So, he's decided that it's time to give up on his mission to of getting to the finish line.
There was no point to continue trying, not when you're probably more than happy with the father of your children, going home to your white picket fence and happy home. So he pulled back, watched from behind the counter, and continued to daydream about the life he's always wanted.
“You know you could just go talk to her, right?” Robin’s voice is louder than she thinks, the low music and hum of the espresso machine doing little to cover it up.
“Say it louder, why don’t you.” Rolling his eyes, Steve continues to wipe down the counter that he’s been working on for the past ten minutes.
“I’m just sayin’, it’s kind of pathetic and creepy that you’re always staring.” Shrugging her shoulders nonchalantly, the brunette girl runs her hands down her black apron. “Besides, what’s the worst that could happen?”
“What’s the worst-” Turning on his heel quickly, Steve stares at his best friend with wide eyes, “Robin, there is a laundry list of things that could go wrong.”
“Yeah? Try me.” Crossing her ankle over the other, Robin leans on the sink with a waiting look.
“Firstly, she could be married,” Steve starts counting on his finger.
“No ring on her finger.” Robin counters.
“Well she’s a mom with two kids, I doubt she has time for a twenty something, no good, barista that barely has his life together.”
“EEEEEEEE WRONG,” She makes a loud buzzer noise, “One you aren’t no good, you’re actually a really great person who needs to see just how amazing he is. Two, you may be a barista who can barely keep his life together but, you’re reliable and take care of yourself, not to mention you have your own car and place, more than other twenty somethings. And lastly, you’re also a mother to a group of teenagers, so it works perfectly.”
Dropping his hands down to his sides, Steve lets the words settle into his heart. He was a good person, he did have a good impression with the gaggle of kids he sometimes watches, and he did have some of his life together.
“Okay well, she could reject me and I will not only lose more of my confidence but I’ll also lose my favorite customer.” Sighing in defeat, he whips the rag that still sits in his hand over his shoulder. "Either way, I gave up on that dream a long time ago."
Robin shakes her head, stepping forward to the boy she calls her best friend and shakes him by the shoulders. “You are Steve ‘the hair’ Harrington! There was a reason everyone called you king Steve and it wasn’t just because you were a huge dick.”
“Hey!!” Steve raises his voice in defeat and she waves him off continuing her peptalk.
“Listen, I know that lady killer is somewhere in there,” She pokes at his chest, “So you’re gonna put your big boy panties on, walk up to her and ask her out! I’m sick and tired of watching you look all sad and depressing, so you’re going to do as I say or I’ll do it for you.” Smiling brightly at him, the girl taps him lovingly on the shoulder.
Robin may be a lot of things, including annoying, but a liar is not one of them. Steve knows that she will one hundred percent walk up to you, throw him under the bus, with a mega-watt smile as she does it.
Watching his friend walk around the counter with a broom and dust pan in hand, her head turns to wear your sat at a table by the front window, talking to your older son, rocking your baby in the stroller with your foot. Turning her attention back to Steve, she smiles wickedly and turns slightly like she’s heading your way. Anxiety rises in the back of his throat, heartbeat picking up and banging hard in his chest.
“Fine, I’m going just- fuck off.” It comes out through gritted teeth. Running a shaking hand down the front of his apron, Steve rounds the counter muttering something under his breath.
As he walks to the table, Robin gives him two thumbs up and an exaggerated smile to which he replies by simply throwing a middle finger up at her.
As he steps closer to your table the thought of turning back around and hiding in the back room comes into mind.
There’s no pot of gold here, only gray clouds and roaring thunder. He can turn back now and continue his sorrowful journey of pining.
But then he looks at you, smiling and laughing at something the young boy next to you said, eyes squeezed shut and head thrown back. What a beautiful way to die, Steve thinks. The thunder and lightning is all worth it when he gets to see you as he takes his final breaths.
“H-hey,” His voice is wobbly, nervousness clearly showing as he speaks.
“Hi Steve.” Your eyes meet his, saccharine smile tugging on the corners of your lips.
“Hi steeb!” The young boy next to you waves while clutching a red crayon in his tiny hand.
“Hi Aidan. How are you little man?” Steve seems to loosen up a bit, the presence of your son lets him exhale just slightly.
“M’colorin a pixture.” The small boy’s tongue pokes between his lips, eyebrows furrowed in concentration as he draws what looks like a demented stick figure.
“It looks good, little dude.” Steve encourages, cooing sweetly at him.
“Fanks.” Still focusing on his picture, the smaller boy grabs a different crayon from the box that sits on the table.
“What’s up, Steve?” You ask, still rocking the stroller back and forth with your tennis shoe covered foot.
“Oh-h yeah, um I was just gonna ask, ah what you were doing.” Just like a switch, he’s back to being a fumbling doofus.
You giggle at him and he feels his cheeks tingle with heat. Looking between the two kids, you look back up to the older man in front of you.
“Well, I’m enjoying a coffee while Aidan colors and Bella naps peacefully.” You nod your head slowly, eyeing the barista questioningly.
Steve wants to slap a hand on his forehead, embarrassed by the fact he can’t even formulate one sentence.
“Yeah, no I see that. Seems fun, I mean not fun but like ya know, seems-“ His stammering is cut off by your soft voice.
“Are you okay? You seem really nervous.” Your eyebrows are pinched together, worry painted on your features.
“Me? I’m great, fantastic!” It comes enthusiastic and way louder than he intended, so loud that Robin hears and instantly facepalms.
“Well, that’s great Steve.” You’re still eyeing him suspiciously and he really wants to jump ship.
“I’m just gonna go and do my ugh, my stuff.” Hooking a thumb over his shoulder, spinning on the ball of his feet leaving before he can say anything else embarrassing.
No, he can’t leave now, not when he’s made it this close to the finish line. This is what he’s been waiting for, the treasure he’s been searching for. It’s no or never and he can’t go back to praying the same prayer that somewhere in this universe you two were destined to be.
With a new found confidence, he turns right back into the eye of the storm and faces it head strong.
“Actually, I came over here because I wanted to know if maybe you’d like to go out sometime.” His chest is puffed out like, more sure of himself than he’s ever been.
The confidence that’s surging through him starts to falter when he reads your expression. You, and Aidan who has now stopped coloring, stare at him with bugged out eyes and gaping mouths.
“Only if that’s okay with you and all. If you want you can bring the kids along and we can go get ice cream and stuff but if you need it I have some friends who are great with kids and who will be willing to babysit for you.” He’s back peddling, trying to give you a way out in case you want to reject him it won’t hurt so bad.
“Oh Steve,” it’s said with pity and he knows the lighting strike is about to hit, “I-I’m not their mom.”
“Yeah no I get it, sorry if I- wait..” Stopping in his tracks, he looks back and forth between you and the small boy, connecting the dots in his head. “You’re not their mom?”
You and Aidan share a look before giggling together. Gazing back up at the flustered man in front of you, you smile kindly at him.
“No, I’m their nanny, Steve. Although I love them like they’re my own, they’re not.”
“Oh.” Steve continues to stare at you, his pretty pink lips in the shape of an O.
“Yeah, I just watch these little guys.” You shrug your shoulders.
“That’s still cool, I mean the offer still stands.” Even though he’s confused, his voice is a little shaky when he asks.
“Do the kids still have to come?” You ask and Aidan shouts an offended “hey”.
“I mean they can if you want, it’s all up to you.” He eyes you, waiting for your reaction but your expression doesn’t give him much to go on.
“Hmmm, I’m going to have to ask my trusted right hand man.” Holding a finger up at him, you leave over to the smaller boy next to you.
Aidan covers you hear with a small hand trying to cover the movements of his lips, even though Steve can still his his muffled whispers from where he stands.
Shaking your head, you repeat back uh huh’s to him, taking everything that’s being said seriously.
Moving back to your upright position, you stare at Steve with a serious gaze.
“Well, my counsel says I should go but you have to buy me ice cream. No buts about it.” Your straight face begins to falter when Steve’s white teeth shine at you.
“Yeah, I’ll get you whatever ice cream you want.” Steve bobs his head, cheeks flaring pink and eyes shining brightly.
“You can’t kiss, only mommies and daddies do dat stuff.” Aidan pipes in and Steve can’t help but chuckle with how the little boys face is scrunched up with intensity.
“Yes sir.” Steve gives the little boy a solute, while sending you a sneaky wink, and the kid quickly accepts.
“So, I’ll text you?” Steve asks
“Yeah, I’d like that.” Your bottom lip is tucked between your teeth as you say it.
“Okay, cool cool. I’ll ah, see you later.” Steve nods his head, backing away from the table slowly.
Sprinting to the backroom, he sees Robin who pretends like she hasn’t been listening in.
“Robs, I fucking did it!” Steve whisper yells, still cautious knowing your still out there.
“I honestly thought you were gonna back out for a second! I’m so proud of you for hanging in there!”
The two of them start hopping around like jumping beans, beaming so brightly they can outshine any star in the sky.
“So you got her number?” Robin asks, heavily breathing from all their excitement.
“Fuck-“ stopping dead in his tracks, Steve bolts to the door and back out to the front.
That’s where he finds you’ve already left and he’s heartbroken. The only memory that you were even there is your lingering perfume that sticks to the air.
You’ll probably be back some time soon but he’s still a little let down knowing he didn’t fully seal the deal. Looking closely at the table, he notices Aidan left one of his drawings.
Picking up the paper, he looks at it closely realizing Aidan didn’t leave it, you did.
Steve,
You left before I could give you my number. I didn’t want to disrupt your little party or anything.
Can’t wait to get that ice cream.
-your favorite customer
683-027-9305
Folding up the paper, Steve sticks it in the pocket of his apron.
“Don’t worry Steve, she’ll be back.” Robin calls out from behind the counter, apparently not seeing the little not that was left.
“I know she will.” It’s said quietly but the smile on his lips isn’t.
It’s beautiful on this side of the rainbow, Steve thinks, the pot of gold was so worth all the work. Robin was right, he still had it.
Thank you all for joining me on this second day of my celebration!!! I hope you all enjoy!! Love you all ❤️

Hey not to go all "tumblr is a professional networking site" on you, but how did you get to work for Microsoft??? I'm a recent grad and I'm being eviscerated out here trying to apply for industry jobs & your liveblogging about your job sounds so much less evil than Data Entry IT Job #43461
This place is basically LinkedIn to me.
I'm gonna start by saying I am so so very sorry you're a recent grad in the year 2024... Tech job market is complete ass right now and it is not just you. I started fulltime in 2018, and for 2018-2022 it was completely normal to see a yearly outflow of people hopping to new jobs and a yearly inflow of new hires. Then sometime around late-spring/early-summer of 2022 Wallstreet sneezed the word "recession" and every tech company simultaneously shit themselves.
Tons of layoffs happened, meaning you're competing not just with new grads but with thousands of experienced workers who got shafted by their company. My org squeaked by with a small amount of layoffs (3 people among ~100), but it also means we have not hired anyone new since mid-2022. And where I used to see maybe 4-8 people yearly leave in order to hop to a new job, I think I've seen 1 person do that in the whole last year and a half.
All this to say it's rough and I can't just say "send applications and believe in yourself :)".
I have done interviews though. (I'm not involved in resume screening though, just the interviews of candidates who made it past the screening phase.) So I have at least some relevant advice, as well as second-hand knowledge from other people I know who've had to hop jobs or get hired recently.
If you have friends already in industry who you feel comfortable asking, reach out to them. Most companies have a recommendation process where a current employee fills out a little form that says "yeah I'd recommend such-and-such for this job." These do seem to carry weight, since it's coming from a trusted internal person and isn't just one of the hundreds of cold-call applications they've received.
A lot of tech companies--whether for truly well-intentioned reasons or to just check a checkbox--are on the lookout for increasing employee diversity. If you happen to have anything like, for example, "member of my college Latino society", it's worth including on your resume among your technical skills and technical projects.
I would add "you're probably gonna have to send a lot of applications" as a bullet point but I'm sure you're already doing that. But here it is as a bullet point anyway.
(This is kind of a guess, since it's part of the resume screening) but if you can dedicate some time to getting at least passingly familiar with popular tech/stacks for the positions you're looking into, try doing that in your free time so you can list it on your resume. Even better if you make a project you can point to. Like if you're aiming for webdev, get familiar with React and probably NodeJS. On top of being comfortable in one of the all-purpose languages like C(++) or Java or Python.
If you get to the interview phase - a company that is good to work for WILL care that you're someone who's good to work with. A tech-genius who's a coworker-hating egotistical snob is a nuisance at best and a liability at worst for companies with even a half-decent culture. When I do interviews, "Is this someone who's a good culture fit?" is as important as the technical skills. You'll want to show you'll be a perfectly pleasant, helpful, collaborative coworker. If the company DOESN'T care about that... bullet dodged.
For the technical questions, I care more about the thought process than I do the right answer, especially for entry-level. If you show a capacity for asking good, insightful clarifying questions, an ability to break down the problem, explain your thought process, and backtrack&alter your approach upon realizing something won't work, that's all more important than just being able to spit out a memorized leetcode answer. (I kinda hate leetcode for this reason, and therefore I only ask homebrewed questions, because I don't want the technical portion to hinge at all on whether someone managed to memorize the first 47 pages of leetcode problems). For a new hire, the most important impression you can give me is that you have a technical grasp and that you're capable of learning. Because a new hire isn't going to be an expert in anything, but they're someone who's capable of learning the ropes.
That's everything I have off the top of my head. Good luck anon. I'm very sorry you were born during a specific range of years that made you a new grad in 2024 and I hope it gets better.

Daendels in Malay Literature
Daendels's performance was so recent, not even ten years ago, that it was in everyone's memory, and the Great Lord had made such a tremendous and bewildering impression on the minds, that his word was considered as that of the great potentates of old! (...)
In Batavian color this processing is even more intense; when the indignant prince of Tjirebon says: djangan toean ambil pergoesar ada jang kita mace bilang sama toean dari itoe orang goenoeng", here the marshal answers: loe orang Tjirebon makan oedang trasi mengapa meng adjar goea orang jang makan daging dan minjak sapi". (...)
(...) while Daendels used to say: in applying justice one must take into account the condition of the people. If a prince is unjust and the people therefore do not want to stay in the country, he must become just; but if he is unjust without the country suffering, then he need not be just, because if he is very just, his severity does not have much effect". This cannot be correct, as appears from all kinds of sources, including the Qur'an. How then to explain this incorrectness in such a statesman? Well, because he had a different religion than we do!
(...) As much as he admires him, and even makes efforts to reconcile his statements with the Qur’an and tradition, in one major regard he abhors him, for to him, the author, Daendels is and remains the kafir (...)
I finally found this after a long time 😭 I was so excited to read it but sadly the chapter is mostly talking abt many local prince or even some islamic figures (?) I'm not sure either lol. Managed to fish out some of interesting stuff tho, the second point of them talking in Java language or old Indonesian basically said smth abt Daendels telling them that they shouldn't teach him what to do from my opinion 🧐 Also, I spotted another potential Daendels quote from the third point 👀 Overall, I think this is a very cool discussion and tbh I'd like to hear y'all thoughts abt this if u guys have one ofc. Anyway, that's all for now, thank you n have a great day, stay safe 🌙

a Tridaily Dose of Emika
(because of exams)
programming languages I use
I do programming, sometimes. I will list the languages I know, chronologically.
Scratch (when I was 10 or something)
Processing/weird combination of a Java library and a very shitty integrated code environment that comes with it, or whatever that word is. (when I was 14, maybe??)
Python (I dunno, used it for the first time at 16, I would guess)
C (when I was either 20 or 19)
HTML, CSS, Javascript (when I was 20??)
Haskell (when I was 20 (I am still 20))
So Scratch is just adorable, right??
Processing?? I dunno, it helped me learn the concepts????? It was really weird looking back at it. I feel like I was very shitty, but it had a library to make visual stuff easy, so it worked. I wouldn't know how to use actual Java, though, because classes were an advanced concept for me back then, and I forgot it since, and I don't ever use classes with the other languages I use.
Python sucks so bad, I hate it, but school coerces me into using it sometimes.....
C is my favourite, and the one I'm the best at. It's just very satisfying, I guess. I've been building a datastructure library lately.
HTML and CSS are kinda funny, Javascript sucks, but you need it I guess
Haskell is so cute, I love it, but I suck at it as of now. I had a month orso of using it and then went back to C, but I do plan to learn more of it later on :3 now, I will tell you more about these languages
Scratch is just some little kid who is throwing paint around (they are fine??? like they're a kid.... you can't judge them)
Processing is some friendly old white dude (he is fine)
Python is some 30-year old in lower upper management of some multinational who thinks very highly of himself and stuff (we hate him)
C is a 25-year old non-binary cool person (we like them)
HTML is not a person
CSS is not a person either
Javascript, we don't know enough to tell, and with we, we mean I
Haskell is a 16 or 17 year old alt girl (we like her)

happy birthday! that dither scale you made back in the summer - was that a 4x4 bayer matrix? Also, what image editing software do you use? and for your maquina do mundo, do you have any systems in place for further generation on an extant dataset, such that you could grow an extant world or even specify city locations and build the world around them?
ok lots of questions!
for drawings i use Krita. its open-source and easy to use. for coding i used to use processing, a version of Java with amazing documentation, but now i do everything in C++, using the openFrameworks library
i assume you mean this dither scale. at the time i indeed tried some dithering algorithms but i prefer the Floyd–Steinberg methods. this one instance is a set of tiles. the algorithm averages the luminosity of a small portion of the screen (i think 8x8 pixels) and replaces it.

im not sure what you mean datasets. extant is a funny word tho
the World Machine always generates maps from scratch and then simulates populations based off the existing resources (currently the only resources it looks into is land/sea and rivers).
the starting location for each population is hardcoded, tho it tries to find the best place near it. im currently developing a way to organicaly evolve the population across the map, using the amount of neighborhood tiles in a city and the amount of other cities its connected to, to decide if a city should expande, send migrants to another city or creates a new city
theoretically i could make it load an existing map and keep evolving that, or make it so you can pick the starting locations of each population. however that is not my objective and as such not something im focused on doing
this is going to be my final project for college, and it should run completelly autonomously

LOCATION: java lava FOR: @dbldipper
She was running late to work. Again. It wasn't exactly an uncommon occurrence, nor was her job at stake, but Wendy was still rushing throughout the morning like it was... as they went out of their way to grab a coffee first, that was. What, were they supposed to suffer through a complete six hour shift without their double shot caramel iced latte? She didn't think so. The store could wait another half hour to be opened, it wasn't like they were ever busy. Distracted by the phone in their hand, they hurried to the counter the moment their name was called, nearly running into someone in the process. "Sorry, dude, I'm in a—" The words stopped coming almost immediately, their mouth seeming to recognize him before her eyes could accept what they were seeing. After being stuck in this town for so long, she had never imagined... "Holy shit. Dipper?"

can we please hear about. the s1 or s2 plot please i love your little guys so much
no ^_^
BUT IN ALL SERIOUSNESS agh it wouldnt make sense to explain the s2 plot without s1 but s1's plot is . im only proud of it in my head but i guess i can try to explain it LAWL sorry if this makes no sense
so season 1's plot revolves around this prophecy. that the highest gods of the universe (swift and python) will split apart but be rejoined by The Chosen One (its not immediately revealed who this is for Reasons) in order to stop the evil guy (vysel) but in the process the high gods will die and the chosen one will take their place . sounds pretty simple right. uh yeah thats the last time itll be simple
swift and python. really never took the prophecy seriously before their fight. they had long lives ahead of them (or so they thought), and besides thinking about their horrible demise doesnt really . do a whole lot for them. other than make them depressed. but when the split happens (and python leaves swift behind) swift suddenly starts to take the whole thing MUCH more seriously. it doesnt say how long it'll take for the chosen one (that's not what the prophecy calls them but its okay) to bring them together so swift just kinda. holds out hope for a while. but eventually they lose faith and only adhere to the prophecy because it predicts sky's gonna die early. which becomes the only thing they care about.
FAST FORWARD TO THE MODERN DAY python's a human and he's an old man and it ends up in this little town called overgaard and he (literally) runs into these two girls named ruby and java!! and within a second of shaking both of their hands it's like oh. they're The Ones huh. (keep in mind he barely remembers anything about the prophecy so like. yeah sure theres two chosen ones. why not. and it n ruby n java hit it off really well!! (ok more so like ruby and python hit it off java kinda hates him initially LOL) but eventually python knows that like. even though he hates responsibility he should do something about. this. like this is kinda important
now python's been on earth for a while. and they know there's exactly one (1) place here that swift can occasionally be found on. and that place is called purity's garden!! and it just so happens there's a gateway to it in overgaard!!! but uhhh unbeknownst to him two humans unexpectedly FOLLOW him into this place that very few, if any, humans have stepped into for the past couple thousand years. but uhhh swift does end up being there and python basically walks up to her and is like "hey girl so i know we havent talked since i abandoned you without saying goodbye hundreds of years ago but i think i found the two kids from the prophecy ^o^"
now swift has been studying the prophecy for AGES. she KNOWS that there's only one chosen one. and sky also knows that the shitbag who honestly ruined her life just came bsck without any kind of explanation or apology for doing so. AND he's just wholeass lying to them on top of that. so she's not very happy until lo and behold !!!!!!! thw two kids from the prophecy come to intervene!!!!!!! and at first swift is like "python these are just normal humans you fuckinf loser". but python INSISTS tjeyre the chosen ones, swears it on every bone in his body. amd she's like "i'll literally prove it to you ill SHOW you the prophecy" but!! when they get there!!!! the prophecy suddenly says there IS two chosen ones!!!!!!!!!!! and swift is losing it because sky's literally spent every day of python's absense memorizing that shit down to the SPECIFIC INFLECTION OF EACH WORD and somehow she mustve fuckijg forgotten that the prophecy calls for two people. ok. Fine. she can be cool about this . itll be Fuckinf Fine. so she reluctany trains these two alongside python in order to become skilled enough to defeat this evil demon thing that threatens. the fabric of the universe actually.
and BADABING BADABOOM that's most of s1 :-) everythinf just kinda follows that plot. and by that i mean the prophecy keeps fucking changing because it turns out having two people instead of one kinda changed everything WAY more than it fucking should. but its okay.
uhhh other than that the negative spirits take vysel as their pawn on the 200th anniversary of his death amd start rebuilding his prescence in the cutural consciousness only to make him like. the most hateable person ever. because negative actions and emotions make them stronger. and vysel's cool with it because he's a shallow asshole who only wants fame and attention even to the point of sacrificing his identity and personality both to the internet gods and to. the kinda demon things possessing him
although the whole training arc is going on (which does get some episodes dedicated to it tbf) most of the episodes in s1 are actually moreso slice of life stuff. a whole year passes between java and ruby finding out they're "chosen ones" and the end of s1 so they still have a lot of time to like. interact with their families or reconnect with old friends (as two conpletely nonspecific examples) . and about halfway thru the season vysel shows up proper and the story has urgency now yippee!!!!!
anywhoozle like i said in that one post. and i should probably explain how this happens so im gonna do that rq . but basically i've talked about this thing called imprisoned rogues before? they're basically intergalactic super criminals . if you do something that endangers an entire planet or more the gods will come up with some sort of unique enless trap for you to stay in for all eternity. like for example an endless staircase you never stop climbing or your consciousness being transferred into an inanimate object. shit like that. and all these rogues are kept in sectors that only gods can make portals to. but the collection of negative spirits within vysel have become so strong they can collectively create one giant portal to send everyone through. where they would presumably die (except for swift who they're now confident they can kill if she gets singled out ^_^). which is much safer than trying to kill them directly. and of course thats the one day java and c+ actually decided to hang out with each other for the first time in 3 years so uhhhh get fucked jobs georg you and your girlbestie get sent to the hell dimension !!!
and yada yada emotional turmoil happens and they eventually decide that letting java die out there isn't a particularly great idea and they save her but by then the endgame has pretty much started. the other gods finally start to help when they realize that this is actually. yk. a big fucking deal. and the prescence of two people is actually enough to cause the prophecy to change so much that both swift and python get to live in the end WOOOOOO (well. they live in some timelines that is. but dw about tjat its Not important ^_^) vysel dies in the process and everything is hashtag awesome the end . oh my lord that took so long to explain sorry LOL
UHHHHH S2'S PLOT ISNT NEARLY AS COMPLUCATED THANKFULLY. basically another year passes after the end of s1 and everyone's hanging out and being friends and whatever. but even after that time swift couldnt shake the feeling that something was wronf with the prophecy. she figured out it was changing but she couldn't understand why. but it wasn't really worth worrying about because they had to stop vysel. but after all was said and done she decided to visit one specific imprisoned rogue in particular, who sought to gain all the knowledge in the universe. so to punish xem the gods GAVE xem infinite knowledge but also put xem in a pitch black, inescapable room, so no one else can possibly hear xyr knowledge. which was what xe wanted in the first place. how fun ANYWAYS xe's not at all important ^_^ the point is that swift finally caves and asks xem what happened and xe's like oh!! some human kid fucked it up lol :) now can you free me now that i told you that and swift's like . sorry buddy its kinda hard to take back your knowledge now that you have it . but we'll figure out something for you !! (sky never does /J)
ANYWAYS the point of all this that swift figures that the human that altered the prophecy is the REAL chosen one. and even after all this time there's still no one to take the place of swift and python (which. swift being the god of all energy is a major reason why they're so unhappy in the first place. so of course they dont wanna put this burden on ruby or java or python.) but they figure that if this humam is old enough and experienced enough to be able to change the future in such a drastic way, then with some more experience and love for the universe they'd absolutely be able to take up this role. right ?
SIKE!!!!!!!!!!!!! THE KID THAT DID ALL THIS IS SOME SHITTY 15 YEAR OLD SCENEMO KID!!!!!!!!!! GET PRANKED LOSER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
so they kinda have an issue. cuz swift absolutely Cannot handle being a god anymore . but this kid (named requiem) doesnt wanna do it either. and also said kid is way too powerful to just. stay let loose. so they're like hey man!!!! you can like. change the future and shit isnt that cool. and this kinda freaks requiem out they're like THATS WHAT THE PROPHETIC STRESS DREAMS ARE ABOUT?????? ALSO WHO ARE YOU so automatically they're even worse now
and the main 4 are like. hey. ik we really stressed you out before and were sorry but we can also get you out of here because youre very obviously depressed. and requiem's not great rn but they also Are Depressed and Have No Plans For The Future so they're like. okay. their parents are okay with this btw because theyre. aghh
so basically s2 is about trying to get requiem to appreciate life. because we dont want this child who can change the future to be sad all the time. or angry. or yk. evil. which sounds kinda shallow but they develop into really good friends!!! and they found family each other ....... bless. so they travel the world and see things from so many other perspectives and this is the season where i kinds go creazy with the worldbuilding ....... its for me to have fun . win
and uh . funny story i STILL dont have a proper ending for s2 .......... i have ideas i just need to think of how such a thing would happen. but i will get back to you when i come up with something ! dw
and erm thats kinda it ... there's also a side story with themes and motifs AND two blokes who do fuck all. but i dont talk about that one as much but its okay!!!! i will soon.......... stayyyyyy tuned ^_^
#plot tag#plot 2 tag#<- mentioned briefly at the end#AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA#NOT checkijg this for typos . good lard . i hope this makes sense hsgrrjsbdmanvdjd

Daily Update - TTT 2023 Day 4
Well everyone, it’s Day 4, and we're pretty sure our server members have figured out that our mod team is secretly a bunch trolls who posted our prompt graphics without the prompts all over the server. Regardless! Book Design is in the lead, with Rare Flair hot on their heels, spurred on by fans of many different ships, all of whom are working together to bring their team victory. Also slowly climbing the ranks is Java Jukies, which just made use of the Miscellaneous Category for the first time ever. Some of our teams are lagging, but if they were to get some comic or other Miscellaneous submissions they'd probably catch up. Be creative. Interpretive dancers, now is your time!
Today’s prompt is “Taking out the trash, then?”
So long as you publish your response before our next prompt goes up at 12:00 AM EST, you’ll receive full bonus points! But don’t worry if you miss it, as you’ll still get some amount of bonus points on any of the later days.
Oh, and uh, one more thing. We've definitely noticed that the uptick in art submissions this year has really changed the game, and we suspect you've noticed it too. We'll be overhauling our scoring for next year, but in the meantime we're going to try to even up the playing field.
All Fic submissions now have a doubled base score!
What does that mean? Well, prompt bonuses and moderator's discretion points remain unchanged, but the base score (ie the points you earn for story conception and word count) are now doubled. This change effects all fic submissions, past and present. Everyone say "Thank You, Notte" okay?
And, because it wouldn’t be the Tag Team Tournament with a Surprise Daily Double Day:
On Day 5, August 3rd EST, all submissions earn double points for 24 hours!
So if you were worried about getting your team caught up, hope is not lost! All around double points begin at 12:00 AM EST, when the Day 5 prompt is published. If you're looking to dethrone Book Design, now is your time! Or, well, tomorrow.
Additional Notes:
Only submissions through the Form will count towards scoring! We will NOT be collecting AO3, Discord, or Tumblr submissions manually.
If your post hasn’t been reblogged to our Tumblr within 48 hours, please reblog it and tag @maribatserver in the text of the reblog to make sure we see it! Sometimes Tumblr tag searches are a bit janky, and we want your work to get the attention it deserves.
The only way to check if your submission has been scored is to check our Live Tracker which will automatically update once your submission has been processed. Just because your work was reblogged does NOT mean it was scored! Please allow 24 hours for your work to appear on the live tracker, as unverified submissions will not be shared.
Good luck to your team(s) and we can’t wait to see what you’ve got!
Special thanks to @nottesilhouette for coding our Live Tracker and turning @newdog14's vague concepts into gorgeous prompt graphics, to @izanae for helping with prompts and scoring, and to @newdog14 for making our score board snapshots!

Unleashing the Power of Java: Your Guide to a Versatile Programming Language
Java: The Language of Digital Choreography
Programming languages are like the words we use to communicate with computers, and among these languages, Java stands out as a versatile and powerful tool. Imagine it as teaching your computer to dance to your tune, where your instructions are written in Java. But what makes Java so special, and why is it so widely embraced in the world of programming? Let's dive into the key reasons behind its importance.

1. Platform Independence: Java's Superpower
Java possesses a superpower—it can run on various computer systems without requiring modifications. How? Java programs are transformed into bytecode, a universal language understood by the Java Virtual Machine (JVM). This bytecode runs seamlessly on Windows, Mac, or Linux, making Java truly platform-independent.
2. Versatility: The Swiss Army Knife of Programming
Java is like a Swiss Army knife for programmers. It's not limited to one domain; you can use it to craft web applications, mobile apps, desktop software, and even embed it in small devices like smart thermostats. Its adaptability knows no bounds.
3. Security: A Robust Guardian
In an age where digital security is paramount, Java takes security seriously. It boasts built-in features that safeguard your computer and data from malicious software, providing peace of mind in our increasingly interconnected world.
4. Large Community: Your Support Network
The vast Java community is a valuable resource. With a multitude of Java developers out there, you can easily find help, access resources, and leverage libraries. If you encounter a coding challenge, chances are someone else has faced it and shared a solution.
5. Scalability: From Small to Massive
Java scales effortlessly. It's trusted by major corporations to power their colossal systems. Whether you're creating a small game or launching a massive e-commerce platform, Java can handle the challenge.
The Java Odyssey: Transforming Code into Digital Life
Understanding the inner workings of Java is paramount in the realm of programming. It unfolds as an intricate journey, a symphony of steps that bring your code to life, transforming instructions into digital ballet. Let’s delve deeper into this process:
1. Composition of Code: The Birth of Instructions
The journey commences with the composer, the programmer, crafting Java code that resonates with human understanding. It’s akin to writing the script for a grand performance, where every line of code becomes a note in the symphony of instructions.
2. Compilation: The Translator’s Artistry
Your code embarks on a transformative voyage known as compilation. This step resembles a skilled translator rendering a literary masterpiece into a universal language. The code metamorphoses into bytecode, a linguistic bridge that computers understand.
3. Bytecode: The Choreographer’s Notation
Bytecode emerges as the choreographer’s notation — a graceful set of instructions, akin to dance moves meticulously notated on a score. The Java Virtual Machine (JVM) is the dance floor, and bytecode is the choreographic masterpiece. It is platform-agnostic, a language that speaks fluently on any stage where a JVM is present.
4. Execution: The Grand Performance
The Java Virtual Machine takes center stage, assuming the role of the conductor and principal dancer. It orchestrates the grand performance by executing the bytecode on the target computer. This is where your program comes to life, faithfully translating your meticulously crafted instructions into tangible actions.
The Call to Adventure: Java Awaits
Now, are you ready to embark on the captivating adventure of Java? It beckons with the promise of exploring boundless possibilities and orchestrating digital feats. Java’s prowess extends across a myriad of applications, underpinned by its platform independence, fortified security, and the unwavering support of a vibrant community. If you harbor the eagerness to communicate with computers and guide them to perform incredible acts, Java stands as the perfect threshold.
Java is your gateway to a world where code transforms into enchanting performances, where the mundane becomes extraordinary. HBase is the Hadoop Database, which is a NoSQL database running on top of Hadoop. HBase combines the Hadoop scalability by running on the HDFS (Hadoop Distributed File System) with real-time data. In this article, Hadoop and big data professionals are introducing HBase and the major reasons behind its popularity. What is HBase? HBase is one of the open source distributed databases designed to store record-oriented data throughout a scalable machine cluster. Professionals refer HBase as a “sparse, distributed, consistent, persistent, multi-dimensional, sorted map.” Didn’t get it? Let explain a bit – Sparse – If a row has null value in a column, it doesn’t take space Distributed – rows are spread across several machines Consistent – It is strongly consistent Persistent – HBase stores data on disk with a log, hence it sticks around Sorted – All the rows in HBase are stored in sorted order so that user can seek them faster Multi-dimensional – Data stored in HBase is addressable in several dimensions- rows, tables, columns, versions, etc. Why companies are using NoSQL store even if they have a relational database? We are not saying that relational database is useless. In fact, relational databases are terrific offering killer features- Ability to decompose the physical data storage into different conceptual buckets Modify the state of many related values atomically. Salesforce is heavily dependent on the relational database. But then there is a subset of use cases that include unique requirements for relational data. Less emphasis on relationship webs that need complex transactions for correctness; and more emphasis on large data streams that accrue over time, and require linear access uniqueness. Companies can store these in RDBMS. However, when they do, they pay a penalty (of scale and performance limitations) for features they don’t require. For those new use cases, HBase has been added to their toolkit. HBase can leverage the distributed processing paradigm available in HDFS. It can host large tables with billions of rows with millions of columns and run all over a cluster of commodity hardware. HBase is a robust and sturdy database that takes help of MapReduce to combine real-time query capabilities with value store speed and batch processing. In simple words, with HBase, companies can make a query for individual records and obtain aggregate analytic reports. Scalability – HBase supports scalability in both modular and linear format Sharding – Sharding of tables is supported by HBase. It is also configurable. Consistency – HBase also supports consistent read and write operations Distributed storage – Distributed storage like HDFS is supported by HBase Failover support – HBase supports automatic failover API support - Java APIs are supported by HBase Backup support - Backup support for Hadoop MapReduce jobs in Hbase tables is available in HBase. MapReduce support – MapReduce support is available for parallel processing of bulk data Real-time processing – HBase supports block cache and Bloom filters to make real-time processing easy. HBase is different from a relational database and needs a unique approach to modeling the data. It defines a four-dimensional data model and the below four coordinates explain each cell – Row key – Each row contains a unique row key. The row key doesn’t include data type and is treated internally as a byte array. Column family – row data is organized within column families; each row has the same set of column families, however across rows, the same column families don’t require the same column qualifiers. HBase stores column families within own data files. Column qualifier – Column families explain actual columns known as column qualifiers. Version – Each column can have configurable version numbers. You can access the data for certain version of a column qualifier. Why HBase is the foremost choice of all the NoSQL stores? Choosing HBase is a key area of investment.
There are three factors that influence the decision making – HBase is a strongly consistent store – HBase is a CP store and not the AP store. Its consistency is amazing if used for an apt reason. It’s a high-quality project – It is well respected in the community. Social networking platform like Facebook built its whole messaging infrastructure on HBase. Hadoop ecosystem had an operational presence at Salesforce. Experts are applying Hadoop in the product for ages, and they know how it works. HBase uses HDFS for persistence and provides first-class integration with MapReduce. How HBase works? HBase scales in a linear way in order to provide a primary key to each table. Each key space is distributed into sequential block allotted to a region. The RegionServers control each region and distribute the load uniformly in a collected environment. In HBase, you get automating data sharding support, which eliminates the need for manual intervention. After deployment of HBase, HMaster and Zookeeper server are configured to offer cluster topology data to the HBase clients. Client apps linked to these utilities and acquire the list of RegionServers, key ranges, and regions information. It assists the client to determine the accurate data position and connect to the RegionServer directly. Caching support is provided by RegionServers that help in accessing rows frequently. This enhances the performance. Major reasons to use HBase are as under- Even if HBase offers multiple great functionalities, it is still not a ‘Fit for all’ solution. You need to consider following key areas prior using HBase for the application- Data volume – The data volume is one of the common things to consider. You should have PETA data bytes that have to be processed in a distributed environment. Application type – Hbase is unsuitable for transactional apps, relational analytics, large volume MapReduce jobs, etc. If you have a variable schema with different rows or if you are going for a key dependent access to stored data, you can use HBase. Hardware environment – HBase runs on top of HDFS that works efficiently with a massive amount of nodes. If you are using good hardware, HBase can work for you. No relational features are needed Quick access to data These are the things making HBase so popular among Hadoop and Big data solutions companies. If you are planning to deploy HBase, do consider the above-discussed scenarios for better and efficient performance.

What are the main features of a perfect essay?
It is needless to say that professors look for nothing but perfection in essays. Even one petty mistake can cost you valuable grades. Everyone you know in college is looking for a way to write a custom essay help and score great grades on their papers. But what exactly is a legit essay? What makes an essay legit, or rather what sets an essay apart from the rest? A typical essay should consist of certain elements that make it perfect. You will be able to present an excellent essay once you can manage to include all the elements in your essay.
Great research work
Whether you are writing a paper help or a business essay, make sure the research is relevant to the topic. Students often get carried away while writing essays and end up including irrelevant information in their work. The right research work shows that you know exactly what you want to prove in the essay. It also reflects your knowledge in this field. You must have an argument or a point to prove in the essay. So, get hold of background information that serves this purpose.
A strong outline
Most students avoid creating an outline and start writing the essay right after collecting information. An outline makes writing essays 10X easier and faster. Your professors look for a proper outline while assessing your essays. Java programming assignment help So, they deduct considerable marks when they find none. An outline also ensures that you have covered all the main points in the essay. It enables smooth transitions from one paragraph to the next. The outline needn’t have to be heavy with details. Instead, include the critical details and organize them in a logical order.
A narrowed-down topic
Essays consist of a fixed word count. Don’t they? Whether you write a research paper help or any other topic, maintaining the specified word limit is necessary. Thus, avoid using an extensive topic and focus on one specific aspect of the subject. Subjects are broad like World Wars, business ethics and more. You are supposed to write books on them and not essays. Narrow them down and pick a particular topic to cover within the subject.
Well-structured body paragraphs
An essay consists of at least five paragraphs. They should have a uniform structure and maintain a consistent flow throughout the essay. A well-structured body paragraph consists of a topic sentence, the main part including facts and statistics and a conclusion. Statistics assignment help If there are multiple points in the paper, explain each per paragraph.
Try to string all these elements together while writing the essay. It is not easy. You may not have it perfectly right in the first draft. But, do not give up. Keep practising. Follow the tips mentioned here and proofread the essay before submission to make sure it has all the essential characteristics.
Summary:
Are you struggling to present an impressive essay? Though the process is hard, it isn’t completely impossible. SPSS assignment help Read this article to know what the main features of an essay are, and try to include all of them in your work.

Beyond the Code: What It Really Means to Be a Full Stack Web Developer Today
In today's fast-paced tech world, being a full-stack web developer is more than just writing lines of code. It’s about solving problems, building real-world solutions, collaborating with teams, and staying ahead of technological trends. Gone are the days when developers only needed to know HTML, CSS, and a bit of JavaScript. Now, they’re expected to be fluent in both frontend and backend frameworks, manage databases, and understand deployment pipelines — all while keeping the user experience in mind.
If you're aspiring to enter this exciting domain, a full-stack web developer course by TechnoBridge can be the right launchpad, offering you a comprehensive, human-centred learning experience that mirrors real-life work environments.
The Human Side of Full Stack Development
Often, people focus only on the technical skills when talking about full-stack development. While technical skills are essential, the human aspects are equally critical. Today’s developers must:
Collaborate across departments (not just with fellow developers)
Understand client requirements and user behavior
Communicate ideas clearly to technical and non-technical audiences
Adapt quickly to changing project needs and new tools
Think creatively to solve complex business challenges
In other words, being a full-stack web developer today means being a problem-solver, communicator, and innovator—not just a coder.
What Does a Full Stack Developer Do?
To understand the evolving role of full-stack developers, let's break down their typical responsibilities:
Frontend Development
This includes everything the user sees and interacts with on the web, such as:
Designing responsive layouts using HTML, CSS, JavaScript
Working with frameworks like React, Angular, or Vue
Ensuring good user experience (UX) and accessibility
Backend Development
This covers server-side logic and databases. Developers must:
Build APIs and server logic using languages like Node.js, Python, Java, or PHP
Manage databases like MySQL, MongoDB, or PostgreSQL
Handle authentication, security, and data processing
Version Control & Deployment
Version control tools like Git and CI/CD pipelines are essential for:
Collaborating on code with multiple developers
Deploying applications to servers and cloud platforms
Rolling back versions when something goes wrong
Testing and Debugging
Quality assurance is critical. Developers must:
Write unit and integration tests
Use debugging tools to identify and resolve bugs
Ensure performance optimization
The Need for Continuous Learning
The tech landscape is constantly evolving. New tools, libraries, and frameworks emerge every few months. Therefore, lifelong learning isn’t optional — it’s a necessity.
This is where a full-stack web developer course by TechnoBridge plays a vital role. It’s designed not only to teach you coding but also to:
Simulate real-world project challenges
Encourage collaborative learning
Provide hands-on practice with live projects
Introduce soft skills essential for client interactions and interviews
What Sets Modern Full Stack Developers Apart?
Today’s industry doesn’t just want someone who can “do it all.” Employers are looking for well-rounded professionals who
Think like designers and build like engineers Communicate clearly and collaborate effectively Understand both the business logic and user expectations Deliver results quickly while ensuring quality Take ownership of end-to-end project execution
These soft skills are emphasised and nurtured in platforms like the full-stack web developer course by TechnoBridge, where you’re not just learning—you’re becoming industry-ready.
Final Thoughts: Beyond the Code
Being a full-stack developer today is not just about knowing the stack — it's about owning the process from idea to execution. It requires technical knowledge, human empathy, curiosity, and a growth mindset. You're not just building websites; you're crafting experiences and creating digital value.
So, if you're passionate about building things that matter, collaborating with brilliant minds, and constantly evolving in your career — a full-stack web developer course by TechnoBridge could be the first step in turning that ambition into reality.
