hi waru! for me, you're always someone to listen to because you tend to be one of the most objective people I know on here. I would really like your opinion on the marc zarco collision yesterday and what they said. neither of us are fans of zarco but I really don't think marc acted in the best manner. and to say zarco should've stayed in pits when he didn't last weekend... I was wondering if the track design influenced his thoughts? I'm just feeling really conflicted... hope you're doing okay <3

I do try to be objective, but I can tell you I am not. Ask Pecco and Fabio fans. I do have my bias. But thanks for the compliment, I appreciate it a lot.

DAZN showed some good imatges that I can't find at the moment to explain this, so I'll try to do my best.

Turn 1 is definitely a dangerous turn with the pit lane exit there. In fact, the long lap penalty used to be there and had to be removed and put at the last turn for a reason. I haven't been at this circuit or at any, but Jorge Lorenzo and Juan Martínez (used to be a member of Hayden's team among other riders) have been there. They dined it as a pit lane exit that forces you to be completely turned and watch every second to make a safe incorporation. It's a tricky one and always make them stress when they see riders.

Apparently, Zarco looked, and then decided to go without a looking at the last second, when he was actually leaving the pit-lane lane and going on track. You see that he looks once Marc's bike is about to crash with him, and he could have hit the breaks, and he didn't. Or hit the gas. And well we know the rest In FP1 was a similar thing, where Maverick crashed, and Álex, who saw and keep looking thorough all the pit-lane exit managed to hit the gas and avoid it. So in my understand is basically a mater of being alert.

This doesn't mean I blame Zarco, he actually looked and decide to go, he just had too much faith. It was just a freaking accident.

What I do no agree, is that Marc just run to try and pick another bike. He saw that Zarco stayed on the floor, and he could have gone and check, specially taking into account that Zarco seemed to be screaming in pain and unable to get on his own feet. But hey this is racing and Zarco has been throwing shit to every rider he can, so he definitely is not winning the other's riders sympathy.

This is completely my opinion, but they could move the pit-lane exit to the mid or end of the corner, where the visibility is a bit better, but then again not only bikes race in here, so we don't know.

So basically my opinion about this incident is that it was a freaking accident where 40-60% of the fault lies on Zarco for not really checking in the last second and Marc's just having an sportsman behaviour. Although, Zarco has gone to the mics and talk shit about Marc, like labelling Marc as the most dangerous rider ever and if doesn't have his own track record.

so I'm on twitter and kind of overwhelmed from all the marc hate, so I just wanted to pop in and say thank you. thank you for always being respectful of the riders. like, everyone is allowed to dislike any rider, but I really appreciate that you never really actively hate on any rider. it's a breath of fresh air. thank you <3

Hey thank you so much for your message, it means so much to me.

I'm usually attach to underdogs riders, and I have seen how people hate them for no real reason other than just be there or overtake their faves, so don't worry, I'll always try to be respectful no matter what.

I do actually hate 2 riders (and a test riders) but usually I post anything bad under the tag anti-[surname] and if there are more than one rider with the same surname it will be anti-[1st letter of the name].[surname] just in case, but I really try to stay away rom those things.

Riders just put their life at risk for us to watch them ride on "circles" over 350km/h, most of the time I'm more concern about their safety than to focus on "We collided" or "He said X to the media". I'll always call them out when they are being nuisance or do something bad on track, but I never will actively try to induce hate or post hate.

Again thank, it means a lot that someone says what you said. i try to make it a safe space but you never know.
