Shut the fuck up! 🤢 The Democratic Party stands for: economic opportunity for the poor (which a majority of Chasidim are btw), racial justice (which Jews have always been a part of, as recipients and activist allies), LGBT rights (which most Jews approve of), environmentalism (literally a core tenet of Judaism), pluralism/democracy/the rule of law (a thing that 99% of American Jews proudly support), I could go on? Like I really could.
This reminds me of an interview I saw years ago where a man was talking to Likkud voters and he interviewed a woman in Ashkelon and she kept saying "Bibi keeps us safe [from Hamas rockets]" and the interviewer asked "is there anything another party could do to sway your vote?" and she cut him off and said "nothing, nothing, only our safety matters."
But at least then, you know Bibi is also a Jew, and has a vested interest in the security of his fellow Jews. He may be a corrupt criminal and possibly a monster, but he will never be insincere about keeping his people safe. I can understand why Likkud voters can put everything else to the side if that's what they care about most. What the fuck does the Republican Party, the party that happily hosts Nazis and radical Christians who make supercessionists look like unhinged philosemites, offer to Jews? How are they keeping Jews safe when it's clear their real goal is to use Jews as a sword and shield to consolidate power and hurt their personal enemies?
Do you really want to be the cynical bargaining chip of delusional Christians? Isn't there more to living a Jewish life and being part of a Jewish community?
Trump's stupid ass deport Hamas students plan solves a very current problem that helps a few thousand Jewish college students, maybe it helps discourage the constant marches that incite harassment and property damage, literal hate crimes? But in the long run, especially with his "Shalom Mahmoud" shit, he is putting a target on Jews' backs and the Republican Party as an establishment cannot make a significant dent in American antisemitism, even if they were sincere. This is just a drop in the bucket. They welcomed the Tate brothers back to America with open arms??
They can't actually quell leftist antisemitism (they might make it worse) and they have zero interest in dissuading rightist antisemitism. The Democratic Party also couldn't do all this alone. And I'll grant, whatever side of the aisle you're on, you're going to inherently view the other side's messaging as disingenuous at best. Republicans think Democrats' messaging about the poor, racial equality, etc. is all virtue signaling and often "the real racism" etc.
You might not see how that for the majority of Jews who are on the left side of the aisle, they see the same thing when a Republican starts grandstanding about antisemitism. They're not likely to abandon the rest of their values for this illusion of safety. There are millions of Jews in Israel who refuse to vote for Likkud for similar reasons, and they're frankly in more danger and their right wing nutjob politicians actually want to keep them safe and actually can do something about it at the level of the State. Likkud doesn't punish Jews who are "disloyal." Why would American Jews give up even more for even less?
Utterly moronic.

the complete beginner's guide to judaism, part 1.5: don't trust these guys
no seriously.
The following groups are not to be trusted:
Messianic groups. They are not Jewish. They are Christian. More here.
Many, many, antizionist 'Jewish' groups. Quite frequently, you do not need to be Jewish to join, which often makes their claims dubious at best and flat-out wrong at worst. The fact that they actively promote themselves to non-Jews and are unclear about membership numbers means that in all likelihood a significant portion of their community is non-Jewish. There may be some legitamete ones, or I may be wrong and they may be Jewish. But I am skeptical.
Why am I skeptical? Because so many of them include 'Jew' in the name. And then you learn they let non-Jews join, which feels fundamentally duplicitous and designed to deceive Jews, non-Jews, and the media into thinking they are a legitamete Jewish voice, when they very well might be composed mostly of non-Jews. I do not trust them to be honest after that switcharoo (and, often, their many misrepresentations of basic facts).
The following organizations fit into this mold:
Jews Against White Supremacy/JAWS:
Tumblr media
Jews For Racial And Economic Justice/JFREJ.
Tumblr media
Jewish Voice for Peace/JVP (one of the biggest organizations in this sphere).
Tumblr media
IfNotNow (EDIT Feb. 13 2025: in addition to this, although they aren't loud about it, one of their founders is an Evangelical Christian named Seth Woody):
Tumblr media
There are of course many other pretenders. But these are some of the most easily-identifiable yet common pitfalls.

More than 50 rabbis and cantors, including leaders of some of New York City’s most prominent synagogues, signed an open letter Tuesday asking Mayor Eric Adams and New York Gov. Kathy Hochul to protect immigrants from the Trump administration’s planned mass deportations.
The letter, the latest in a succession of recent statements by Jewish leaders opposing President Donald Trump’s policies, comes at an unprecedentedly fraught time in the politics of New York City and state. The Trump administration has moved to drop corruption charges against Adams so that he will be able to help the Trump administration’s crackdown on undocumented immigrants.
The arrangement has led to a cascade of resignations at top levels of city government and beyond along with mounting calls for Adams to resign — which he has rebuffed.
And relations between Hochul and Adams aren’t exactly tranquil. The evening before the rabbis’ letter was published, Hochul said she would be meeting with “key leaders” to discuss taking the step of removing Adams from office, which no governor has ever done in the state’s history.
Against that backdrop, the letter asks Adams and Hochul “to be the leaders we desperately need at this moment, and do all you can to resist Trump’s terrifying anti-immigrant agenda.” It does not reference the controversy surrounding Adams.
The letter calls on the mayor and governor to “restrict” immigration raids in schools and houses of worship, which are now permitted under new federal guidelines. It also calls on the leaders to refrain from sharing information with Immigration and Customs Enforcement and to not use jails to detain immigrants. And it hearkens back to American Jews’ immigrant heritage, particularly in New York, as well as past antisemitic persecution.
“We also know in our bones and from our modern history the danger of an unchecked xenophobic government scapegoating ‘outsiders’ to gain power, preying on a population experiencing hard economic times to gain support for a violent and destructive agenda,” the letter said. “We will not stand by while history repeats itself. You, our state and local leaders, must not either.”
The letter follows others signed by Jewish leaders or organizations opposing Trump’s or Republicans’ policies on transgender athletes, mass deportations, Gaza and diversity, equity and inclusion, or DEI. Jewish groups have also joined lawsuits challenging Trump’s immigration actions.
The letters signatories hail from the Reform, Conservative and Reconstructionist movements, and include leaders of large synagogues such as Temple Emanu-El, B’nai Jeshurun, Ansche Chesed, Congregation Beth Elohim,  Forest Hills Jewish Center, Congregation Beit Simchat Torah, Society for the Advancement of Judaism and others. Not all rabbis who signed appended the names of their synagogues.
The letter was organized by a consortium of progressive Jewish groups in the city, including Bend the Arc, the Jewish refugee aid group HIAS, Jews For Racial & Economic Justice,  New York Jewish Agenda,  the immigration advocacy group Never Again Action, the liberal rabbinic human rights group T’ruah and The Workers Circle.

Today is trump's inauguration
MLK Day
It's also the 83rd anniversary of the Wannsee Conference.
The Wannsee Conference was held OTD in 1942, in the Berlin suburb of Wannsee. It was organized by Reinhard Heydrich, at the request of Hermann Göring, to discuss and coordinate the implementation of the "Final Solution to the Jewish Question,"which was the plan to systematically exterminate European Jews. Key attendees included:
Reinhard Heydrich: As the chief of the Reich Main Security Office (RSHA), Heydrich was the main architect of the Final Solution. He called and chaired the conference to ensure coordination among various Nazi departments in the extermination plan.
Adolf Eichmann: A key figure in organizing the logistics of the Holocaust, Eichmann was the head of the RSHA department responsible for Jewish affairs and coordinating the deportation of Jews to concentration camps, ghettos, and death camps. He took minutes during the meeting. One copy survived and it wasn't even a full copy.
Heinrich Müller: As head of the Gestapo, Müller was involved in the coordination of secret police operations during the Holocaust.
Karl Eberhard Schöngarth: A commander in the SS and police in the General Government (part of occupied Poland), Schöngarth was actively involved in the implementation of mass shootings and deportations of Jews.
Josef Bühler: As the State Secretary for the General Government, Bühler advocated for the inclusion of Poland in the Final Solution plans, expressing eagerness to "solve" the Jewish question in his jurisdiction promptly.
Roland Freisler: A representative of the Reich Ministry of Justice, Freisler was involved in ensuring that legal frameworks were in place for the persecution and deportation of Jews.
Otto Hofmann: As the head of the SS Race and Settlement Main Office, Hofmann was responsible for racial policies that included identifying and rounding up Jews for deportation.
At the Conference, Bühler remarked “...that the General Government would welcome it if a start were to be made on the final solution of this question in the General Government, because here transportation does not pose a real problem nor would the deployment of a labor force interfere with the process of this operation. Jews should be removed from the area of the General Government as quickly as possible, because it is here that the Jew represents a serious danger as a carrier of epidemics, and in addition his incessant black marketeering constantly upsets the country's economic structure. Of the approximately 2.5 million Jews in question, the majority are anyway unfit for work.”
Soon after the Conference, the Holocaust entered into a new, more deadly phase. Among other events, Operation Reinhard was a direct result. Named for Heydrich, who was assassinated just months after the conference, it was intended to kill every Jew.
Operation Reinhard built a series of death camps called Operation Reinhard Camps: Belzec, Sobibor, and Treblinka. Three other pre-existing camps, Chelmno, Majdanek, and Auschwitz II, were also put to work towards this goal.
Ultimately, 90% of the Jews of Poland would not survive.
May all of these sonsofbitches never find rest.
Pictured, Reinhard and Lina Heydrich the day before the attempt on his life 26 May 1942. He would die on 04 June 1942.

by Daniel Greenfield
This spring, Schumer agreed to become the public face of the Biden administration’s campaign to bring down the Israeli government, save Hamas and end the war. In a high-profile Senate speech, the lifelong politician who had spent his career pretending to be pro-Israel, equated the Israeli government with Hamas, forbade Israel to go into Rafah to pursue the terror group, claimed that “the Israeli war campaign has killed so many innocent Palestinians” and warned that the Biden administration would use its “leverage” to create a terrorist state inside Israel.
While many pro-Israel figures excoriated Schumer, he trotted out his ‘rabbi’, Rachel Timoner, a radical leftist anti-Israel activist who had taken part in anti-Israel rallies, to defend his betrayal.
According to Timoner, Schumer said “what most of us think” and “what the overwhelming majority of American Jews are saying to each other”. However what Timoner was saying, according to T’ruah, one of the anti-Israel groups she was allied with, could be summed up as, “American Jews must tell our govt we oppose this war and want an end to the occupation.”
Was Schumer saying what most American Jews were really thinking?
Schumer’s latest Siena poll numbers in New York are in. And while his total unfavorable rating in the state is only up a few percent, his numbers among Jewish New Yorkers are catastrophic. With a 48% approval rating among New York Jews, his is only 3% higher than Trump’s at 45%. And his disapproval rating is higher than that of any other statewide figure in the poll. He now has a higher disapproval rating among Jews than among blacks, Latinos or protestants.
Those are stunning numbers and they show a sharp reversal of political fortune. They also help explain why the same poll shows that 46% of New York Jews would now vote for Trump.
A Siena poll that covered the pro-Hamas campus riots found that 87% of New York Jews believed that they had crossed the line into antisemitism and 80% supported calling in the cops.
This is completely at odds with the messaging that has come from Timoner and the infrastructure of allied anti-Israel astroturf groups like J Street, T’ruah, Bend the Arc, New York Jewish Agenda, Jewish Voice for Peace, If Not Now, and Jews for Racial and Economic Justice which receive nonstop coverage from a media that pretends these extremists represent Jews.
The views of New York Jews are not actually reflective of those pushed by the JTA, The Forward and other anti-Israel leftist narrative outlets and Sen. Schumer is now paying the price.

In Subcontractors of Guilt: Holocaust Memory and Muslim Belonging in Postwar Germany, Esra Özyürek describes the way that German politicians, officials and journalists, now that the far right is in the ascendant, have been cranking up the old mechanism of sanitising Germany by demonising Muslims. In December 2022, German police foiled a coup attempt by Reichsbürger, an extremist group with more than twenty thousand members, which was planning an assault on the Bundestag. Alternative für Deutschland, which has neo-Nazi affiliations, has become the country’s second most popular party, partly in response to economic mismanagement by the coalition led by Olaf Scholz. Yet despite the undisguised antisemitism of even mainstream politicians such as Hubert Aiwanger, the deputy minister-president of Bavaria, white Christian-background Germans’ see themselves ‘as having reached their destination of redemption and re-democratisation’, according to Özyürek. The ‘general German social problem of antisemitism’ is projected onto a minority of Arab immigrants, who are then further stigmatised as ‘the most unrepentant antisemites’ in need of ‘additional education and disciplining’. ...
Netanyahu, too, has learned from Germany’s postwar efforts at whitewashing. In 2015 he claimed that the Grand Mufti of Jerusalem had persuaded Hitler to murder rather than simply expel the Jews. Three years later, after initially criticising a move by the Law and Justice Party in Poland to criminalise references to Polish collaboration, he endorsed the law making such references punishable by a fine. He has since legitimised Shoah revisionism in Lithuania and Hungary, commending both countries for their valiant struggle against antisemitism. (Efraim Zuroff, a historian who has helped bring many former Nazis to trial, compared this to ‘praising the Ku Klux Klan for improving racial relations in the South’.) More recently, Netanyahu accompanied Elon Musk to one of the kibbutzim targeted by Hamas, just days after Musk tweeted in support of an antisemitic conspiracy theory. Since 7 October, he has seemed to be reading from the Eichmann trial script. He regularly announces that he is fighting the ‘new Nazis’ in Gaza in order to save ‘Western civilisation’, while others in his cohort of Jewish supremacists keep up a supporting chorus. The people of Gaza are ‘subhuman’, ‘animals’, ‘Nazis’. ...
In a more unnerving illustration of the postwar German-Israeli symbiosis, the German health minister, Karl Lauterbach, approvingly retweeted a video in which Douglas Murray, a mouthpiece of the English far right, claims that the Nazis were more decent than Hamas. ‘Watch and listen,’ retweeted Karin Prien, deputy chair of the Christian Democratic Union and education minister for Schleswig-Holstein. ‘This is great,’ Jan Fleischhauer, a former contributing editor at Der Spiegel, wrote. ‘Really great,’ echoed Veronika Grimm, a member of the German Council of Economic Experts. The Süddeutsche Zeitung, which in 2021 ‘outed’ five Lebanese and Palestinian journalists at Deutsche Welle as antisemites, with equally flimsy evidence exposed the Indian poet and art historian Ranjit Hoskote as a calumniator of Jews for comparing Zionism with Hindu nationalism. Die Zeit alerted German readers to another moral outrage: ‘Greta Thunberg openly sympathises with the Palestinians.’ An open letter from Adam Tooze, Samuel Moyn and other academics criticising Jürgen Habermas’s statement in support of Israel’s actions provoked an editor at the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung to claim that Jews have an ‘enemy’ at universities in the form of postcolonial studies. Der Spiegel ran a cover picture of Scholz alongside his claim that ‘we need to deport on a grand scale again.’ ... Susan Neiman, who wrote admiringly of Vergangenheitsbewältigung in Learning from the Germans (2020), now says she has changed her mind. ‘German historical reckoning has gone haywire,’ she wrote in October. ‘This philosemitic fury ... has been used to attack Jews in Germany.’ In Never Again: Germans and Genocide after the Holocaust, which examines the German response to mass killings in Cambodia, Rwanda and the Balkans, Andrew Port suggests that their ‘otherwise admirable reckoning with the Holocaust may have unwittingly desensitised Germans. The conviction that they had left the rabid racism of their forebears far behind them may have paradoxically allowed for the unabashed expression of different forms of racism.’

“““What is Fascism?
Fascism is an ultranationalist, authoritarian, and anti-democratic political ideology that emerged in Europe after World War I. Its core characteristics include:
• Glorification of the State and the nation above individual rights.
• A charismatic leader with near-absolute power.
• Suppression of political opposition, the free press, and democratic institutions.
• Systematic use of propaganda and fear.
• Creation of an internal or external “enemy” to blame for social problems (Jews, immigrants, communists, minorities, etc.).
• Exaltation of political violence as a legitimate method to “purify” society.
Classical fascism arose in Italy with Benito Mussolini in 1922 and later in Germany with Adolf Hitler in 1933, leading to World War II and the Holocaust.
History of Fascism in the U.S.
Although the U.S. never had a fascist regime, it has seen movements and leaders with fascist tendencies or sympathies:
• 1930s:
Groups like the German-American Bund openly supported Hitler and Nazism, organizing mass rallies with swastikas in New York and Chicago.
• White supremacist movements:
The Ku Klux Klan and other groups have promoted systematic racism, organized violence, and conspiracy theories about immigrants, Jews, and African Americans since the 19th century — all classic traits of fascist ideologies.
• Trump era and the “Alt-Right”:
Under Trump, groups emerged that fit modern fascist practices: extreme nationalism, racism, conspiracy theories (such as QAnon), demonization of immigrants, and political violence (e.g., the attack on the Capitol on January 6, 2021).
Is Donald Trump a fascist for targeting and deporting immigrants?
Fascism is not just about harsh immigration policy; it’s a way of thinking and governing. Trump has used fascist elements even though the U.S. remains a formal democracy:
• Demonization of minorities:
Trump portrayed immigrants, especially Latin Americans and Muslims, as criminals, rapists, and terrorists. This rhetoric is a fascist classic: using an “internal enemy” to unite the population around the leader.
• Mass persecution and deportation:
Under Trump, policies like family separation at the border, raids in Latino neighborhoods, and refugee restrictions were implemented.
• Use of fear and extreme nationalism:
His slogan “Make America Great Again” is an example of nostalgic nationalism — another common tool in fascist regimes.
So while Trump did not eliminate elections or impose a single-party system, his governing style and rhetoric clearly contain fascist elements.
Is Trump and the Republicans’ anti-WOKE movement a sign of fascism?
Yes, many experts consider the anti-WOKE movement a symptom of authoritarian and proto-fascist thinking. Why?
• Selective censorship:
Banning books about racism, slavery, and civil rights from libraries and schools is a classic act of ideological control.
• Rewriting history:
Fascism always tries to manipulate the past. Denying or minimizing the history of slavery, colonization, or the civil rights struggle is a way to suppress collective memory.
• Dismantling policies of inclusion, diversity, and equality:
Fascism seeks racial, cultural, and ideological homogeneity. By eliminating diversity programs, minorities are deliberately marginalized, reinforcing white majority supremacy.
• Control over education:
In classic fascism, the state controls what young people can learn, to prevent “dangerous ideas” (equality, human rights, social justice). Attacks on gender, racism, and diversity programs in universities are part of this pattern.
Differences:
• The U.S. does not (yet) have a totalitarian state, though authoritarianism is on the rise.
• There is no single-party system or election suspension, but there are systematic attacks on trust in the democratic process.
• Propaganda is now digital: social media and algorithms have replaced state-controlled radio and newspapers.
Why is fascism resurging?
1. Economic crisis and inequality: When people feel they’ve lost control of their future, they seek strong leaders who promise “order.”
2. Cultural and demographic changes: Fear of losing privileges, especially among conservative white populations, drives authoritarian reactions.
3. Disinformation and social media: Conspiracy theories and extremist propaganda spread faster than ever.
4. Political polarization: Extreme division turns opponents into “enemies.”
What can we do to eliminate fascism? Concrete examples:
1. Real historical and civic education: Teach about slavery, colonialism, civil rights, and fascism in schools.
2. Defend voting rights: Support laws that guarantee free and fair voting access, especially for minorities.
3. Debunk lies and conspiracies: From QAnon to structural racism denial, misinformation must be challenged with facts and critical analysis.
4. Strengthen communities: Fascism grows in divided societies. Building social, neighborhood, and political support networks helps resist authoritarianism.
5. Peaceful mobilization: Movements like Black Lives Matter, March for Our Lives (gun control), and Unite Against Fascism (in Europe) have succeeded in slowing authoritarian advances.
6. Support independent journalism and transparency: Authoritarian regimes always attack the free press, so defending it is key.”

Poem for July 4, 1994 - Sonia Sanchez
It is essential that Summer be grafted to bones marrow earth clouds blood the eyes of our ancestors. It is essential to smell the beginning words where Washington, Madison, Hamilton, Adams, Jefferson assembled amid cries of:
"The people lack of information"        "We grow more and more skeptical"        "This Constitution is a triple-headed monster"        "Blacks are property"
It is essential to remember how cold the sun how warm the snow snapping around the ragged feet of soldiers and slaves. It is essential to string the sky with the saliva of Slavs and  Germans and Anglos and French and Italians and Scandinavians, and Spaniards and Mexicans and Poles and Africans and Native Americans. It is essential that we always repeat:                            we the people,                            we the people,                            we the people.
2.
"Let us go into the fields" one brother told the other brother. And the sound of exact death raising tombs across the centuries. Across the oceans. Across the land.
3.
It is essential that we finally understand: this is the time for the creative human being  the human being who decides to talk upright in a human fashion in order to save this earth from extinction.
This is the time for the creative Man. Woman. Who must decide that She. He. Can live in peace. Racial and sexual justice on this earth.
This is the time for you and me. African American. Whites. Latinos. Gays. Asians. Jews. Native Americans. Lesbians. Muslims. All of us must finally bury the elitism of race superiority the elitism of sexual superiority the elitism of economic superiority the elitism of religious superiority.
So we welcome you on the celebration of 218 years Philadelphia. America.
So we salute you and say: Come, come, come, move out into this world nourish your lives with a spirituality that allows us to respect each other's birth. come, come, come, nourish the world where every 3 days 120,000 children die of starvation or the effects of starvation; come, come, come, nourish the world where we will no longer hear the screams and cries of womens, girls, and children in Bosnia, El Salvador, Rwanda...AhAhAhAh AHAHAHHHHHH
Ma-ma. Dada. Mamacita. Baba.        Mama. Papa. Momma. Poppi.        The soldiers are marching in the streets        near the hospitals but the nurses say        we are safe and the soldiers are        laughing marching firing calling        out to us i don't want to die i        am only 9 yrs old, i am only 10 yrs old        i am only 11 yrs old and i cannot        get out of the bed because they have cut        off one of my legs and i hear the soldiers        coming toward our rooms and i hear        the screams and the children are        running out of the room i can't get out        of the bed i don't want to die Don't        let me die Rwanda. America. United        Nations. Don't let me die..............
And if we nourish ourselves, our communities our countries and say
no more hiroshima        no more auschwitz        no more wounded knee        no more middle passage        no more slavery        no more Bosnia        no more Rwanda
No more intoxicating ideas of racial superiority as we walk toward abundance we will never forget
the earth        the sea        the children        the people
For we the people will always be arriving a ceremony of thunder waking up the earth opening our eyes to human monuments.     And it'll get better     it'll get better if we the people work, organize, resist, come together for peace, racial, social and sexual justice   it'll get better   it'll get better.

You know that joke about the Jew who enjoys reading Nazi newspapers because they're talking up the power and influence of the Jews?
Well,
Tumblr media
A shadow looms over the world. In this week’s edition we publish The World Ahead 2024, our 38th annual predictive guide to the coming year, and in all that time no single person has ever eclipsed our analysis as much as Donald Trump eclipses 2024.
Chunks of the article gives me a similar feeling of "Yeah, I hope/wish that were true". Trump better organised? Trump can find loyal personnel? Sounds good!
Because maga Republicans have been planning his second term for months, Trump 2 would be more organised than Trump 1. True believers would occupy the most important positions. Mr Trump would be unbound in his pursuit of retribution, economic protectionism and theatrically extravagant deals. No wonder the prospect of a second Trump term fills the world’s parliaments and boardrooms with despair. But despair is not a plan. It is past time to impose order on anxiety.
You'd have to be a complete idiot to think Trump would be unbound in a second term, and the Economist writers aren't complete idiots, so I must conclude this is hyperbole verging on outright lies, which I could get in almost any internet comment section.
The greatest threat Mr Trump poses is to his own country. Having won back power because of his election-denial in 2020, he would surely be affirmed in his gut feeling that only losers allow themselves to be bound by the norms, customs and self-sacrifice that make a nation. In pursuing his enemies, Mr Trump will wage war on any institution that stands in his way, including the courts and the Department of Justice.
The Department of Justice is part of the executive branch and obliged to answer to the President. If it stands in his way, he is right to make war on it, and it should be punished for treason. The "norms" implied here appear to be norms in favor of the Deep State doing whatever it likes and disregarding the President.
Two nations in one country: the Harvard and the Amerikaner. Read Moldbug, etc.
Yet a Trump victory next year would also have a profound effect abroad. China and its friends would rejoice over the evidence that American democracy is dysfunctional.
No more dysfunctional than re-electing Figurehead Joe.
If Mr Trump trampled due process and civil rights in the United States, his diplomats could not proclaim them abroad.
Unfriendly reminder that Trump issued a "no racial scapegoating" executive order and Biden revoked it so he could engage in racial scapegoating, racial privilege and racial quotas.
US civil rights law as currently executed by Democrats is an evil system which tramples on other rights like freedom of speech, freedom of association, and presumption of innocence. Saying "civil rights" in contemporary law is a hefty motte-and-bailey term.

As the leading U.S. pro-Israel lobby's political action committee unleashes a nearly $2 million ad blitz targeting Congressman Jamaal Bowman, Jewish allies of the New York Democrat—who is an outspoken critic of what he and many experts call Israel's genocide in Gaza—on Thursday joined progressive lawmakers in condemning right-wing efforts to defeat pro-Palestine incumbents.
United Democracy Project (UDP), the American Israel Public Affairs Committee's (AIPAC) super PAC, has booked $1.9 million in television ads to influence the outcome of the Democratic primary in New York's 16th Congressional District, according to Wednesday reporting by Sludge's David Moore.
"This new ad spending in New York shows once and for all that my opponent, George Latimer, is bankrolled by a right-wing super PAC that has received over $40 million from Republican megadonors who want to defend Republican insurrectionists, overturn voting rights, and ban abortion nationwide," Bowman said in a statement.
"Democrats across New York deserve better, and will reject these attempts to buy our elections and undermine our democracy," he added.
Jews for Jamaal, a pro-Bowman coalition spearheaded by the group Jews for Racial & Economic Justice Action, said in a statement that "we recognize this media blitz for what it is: a desperate move by powerful interests to silence the district's first Black representative in history."
"UDP is overwhelmingly spending its millions in Democratic primaries, mostly against Black and brown Democratic incumbents who speak out against war and for the human rights of Palestinians," the coalition continued. "This massive amount of spending distorts the political landscape, drowning out the needs and voices of everyday constituents with the interests of a few wealthy donors."
"It undermines the very foundation of our democracy, which must be built on the principles of transparency, accountability, and genuine representation," Jews for Jamaal added.

While the matter of what exactly antisemitism is and isn't is under contestation I want to share my favorite resource for understanding antisemitism that puts its development in Europe in its historical and systemic context: Jews for Racial And Economic Justice (JFREJ)'s 2017 educational pamphlet, "Understanding Antisemitism: and Offering to Our Movement." This is a great resource for leftists who like good analysis of systems of oppression, for people who want to be allies to Jews as neonazi worms gain political prominence, and maybe most importantly right now, to people who support Palestinians and want a resource for understanding antisemitism that isn't just going to tell you "antisemitism is when you don't support Israel enough." It's really fucking disturbing how much the far right is owning this conversation on the national stage in the USA right now. I hate my identity being used as a cudgel to justify genocide, and I am so very aware that same cudgel can also have other, also dangerous, political uses.
