Hiii, how are you? I hope you are doing ok! <3 sending love and hugs. I wanted to ask you... i think i remember something about tgcf having live action adaptation. Was that real or was just a dream i had or something? If it's real do you know if we will have it or what happened to the project? Idk if my mind made that up! sorry and thanks :)

No, it's not some mad collective fever dream we all had, they really did film it (6 months of shooting between July 2021 and January 2022). Native title is 吉星高照 (Ji Xing Gao Zhao) English title is Eternal Faith.

If we ever get to see it is another matter, i probably don't need to say the main reason is because it's a danmei adaptation - it'll have a harder time passing the censors than the average cdrama. Since the popularity of other dangais it seems the censors have become stricter in any case. Job one is always going to be passing the censors.

While checking chinese websites and articles I did find several sources of a rumour that the site security punched a girl who was visiting the set. I can't vouch for the reliability of this but anything that can potentially attract criticism can delay a cdrama release further. Other criticisms include the casting of the male leads, how cheap the set design and costuming look, and a cancelled actress who may have to remain uncredited.

So it will need to satisfy the censors in order to be relased, as well as satisfy the general public and tgcf fans to be worth releasing and I'm not sure if it can do it all. If all goes well and it does ever pass censorship, we won't get a release date in advance. I don't know if you've ever experienced waiting for a cdrama release but you will not get much warning when it airs. It will likey drop with a couple days warning in form of internet rumours, or just completely out of the blue.

HAVING SAID THAT - another rumour is that a full costume bl drama like the untamed will be released internationally in Sept 2024, bypassing a Chinese release. It's just a rumour but it does make this webpage very interesting! But please remember everything above and not get too excited just yet 😂.

shirasaki pushing past his respect for hayama's "beloved" out of desperation and, once hayama turns around with the most stern look and serious voice, chickening out and saying it's for the role without looking up. he only looks into his eyes after he gets out the lie. shirasaki who is always direct and stares at people to get his point across has to lie and look elsewhere while doing it because telling the truth would mean rejection from his point of view.

hayama doing his best to deny shirasaki's advances, reminding both of them yuki isn't completely sober but then freezing when he feels shirasaki's body against him. the glimmer of hope he gets in that moment is hidden behind his darkened eyes as he asks why shirasaki is doing this because it's hope that's barely welcome. and then he hears the explanation and his heart sinks a bit more than it already had and yet he gives in.

shirasaki is the one to push them towards the bed, he's the one to initiate the first kiss but the kiss sobers him up. it's another moment of his reality peaking through and the physicality of it makes it impossible to remain in denial so he moves away. hayama likes someone, this feels too good, he likes someone else, it won't feel good for him, i forced him into this-

hayama lets himself be taken to the bed because his confidence wavers in the face of that ray of hope and shirasaki's constant insistence, he doesn't stop him even when he's warned what's coming. the kiss is a glimpse of reality for him as well. he is pulling away, why is he pulling away, should i let him, i should- this is the last time. he won't ask again, this is the last chance, i can't let him go by any means and even though it's for the role, even if i am not me to him, he is him to me. i can't let go.

for shirasaki, he is taking advantage of a man whose heart belongs to someone else. who he is kissing and carressing, whose breaths he is synchronising himself to isn't really there with him, he must be with his loved one in his mind. but it's okay because shirasaki is shirasaki even behind the guise of takumi, the feel he puts into every touch is real and for asami only, even if asami isn't there. maybe he could still sense his love somehow.

for hayama, he is indulging into his own desires at the expense of a very dedicated actor in whom the only emotion he's managed to awake is respect. he had thought at one point that maybe there could, potentially, be something..then it was all over. it's all out of dedication to the craft. and hayama is just a vessel for someone else, for a character. but it's okay because at the end of the day he will gladly let shirasaki use him. to get to be close to him like this, despite the alcohol, despite the motivations.. he has to show shirasaki all that has been brewing under the surface for years. he is used to just being a prop, standing there, being artificially loved for being handsome. so what's so bad about being a character if he gets to give shirasaki all of him. if he could pretend it's all aimed at him, he could drown out the voice in his head. even though it's takumi that's on top of him, even if shirasaki is acting, hayama won't be. maybe yuki could understand all that could not be put into words, however much of his heart is there with him.

and in any case, it's the last and only time.

then yuki reaches to unbuckle the belt. and asami's reality comes over him in a big wave, leaving him sobered up and nearly in a fever. so he pulls back. which is yuki's reality coming in. and hayama rushes to dress up, shirasaki hurries to justify himself and apologise and before either of them can realise what is happening, hayama is out the door without nothing close to his usual polite goodbyes. and shirasaki is left to sink in his jealousy of the beloved that made hayama snap out of it.
