Take Wyatt Earp as a biopic and it is a superb and fair film. Compare it to Tombstone which was more of a Western and it’s lacking the flair. However, it ends abruptly, and it is miscast. Cosner (and i am a fan) doesn’t really make a good Earp. Dennis Quaid who I am also a fan of, doesn’t make a good Doc. This was 1994, in the 80s I might have a dif...

Con l'arrivo dell'estate, del caldo e del richiamo del mare, la mia concentrazione nel vedere serie tv cala drasticamente. Il tempo è bello, fa caldo, ci sono esami da preparare...io non c'ho voglia di impegnare il cervello su " seguire trame" preferendo video random su YouTube.

Soprattutto quando vorresti disperatamente vederti - tra le nuove uscite - KinnPorsche o Tomorrow ma hai giurato che no! aspetterai che venga tutto tradotto!

Perciò da settimane, sono ferma sulle stesse due serie: Please Classmate e From Now, Showtime. Ma considero di finirli entrambi la prossima settimana.

EDIT: e così è stato.

Tuttavia i giorni passati settimane passate non sono stati tutti da buttare.

Roba di cui parlare c'è:

ad esempio che oggi inizia la terza stagione di Umbrella Academy, l'unica serie occidentale che seguo. E @ili91-efp se non l'hai vista...recuperala perché merita assolutamente. Garantiamo io e la @veronica-nardi.

Oppure dell'ipotesi di una serie tv spin off di GOT su Jon Snow. Qualcosa su cui non sentivo minimamente la mancanza. Ora, potrei parlare per ore e ore su quanto l'idea di una serie tv dove Jon Snow - quello della serie tv poi - ci mostra quanto è bello vivere oltre la barriera mi attiri quanto l'immagine di un cane che urina nel deserto.

Io a Jon voglio bene. Seriamente. La serie tv ha massacrato il suo personaggio ma in fin dei conti gli sono affezionata parecchio. Ma con tutte le storyline lasciate aperte, con tutti i personaggi misteriosi abbandonati dalla serie, tra tutti i finali alla mentula canis che D&D hanno lasciato aperti... vogliono fare uno spin off su quella che per me è la storyline più noiosa e meno interessante di tutte. Che cosa esattamente c'è da vedere su Jon Oltre la barriera?

Ma uno spin off su Arya che viaggia per il mondo e magari arriva a Valyria? Un excursus su Dorne dopo la fine dei Martell? Un approfondimento su quel "terribile" consiglio ristretto presieduto da Bran? Cosa è successo alle città libere dopo la morte di Dany?

Guarda, piuttosto come dice @veronica-nardi avrei preferito uno spin off su Bronn ed il suo castello. Ma comunque, l'unica cosa che potrebbe risvegliare il mio interesse su questo probabile spin off è se Jon torna a sud della Barriera.

Poi c'è il sogno della @veronica-nardi di un Jon che prende le armi e si ripiglia il trono di spade facendo valere la R+L ... ma quello è un sogno a occhi aperti.

Il collegamento tra quel musone di Jon Snow e questo drama non è causale, visto che il lead è interpretato dallo stesso attore di Attention, Love!

Prince Chiu - che Dio lo abbia in gloria - è strepitoso nel non avere espressioni e reagire alle vicende che gli capitano a tiro sempre con la stessa faccia impassibile. Raga' ci vuole abilità per questo!

Ovviamente interpreta sempre lo stesso personaggio psicopatico e sull'orlo della depressione...ma sono sicuramente le sue scarse doti attoriali a farne uno dei miei personaggi preferiti: vederlo in scena mi fa rivalutare tanti altri attori che ho forse accusato troppo frettolosamente di non saper recitare. Io lo vedo e mi piego dalle risate.

Amensalism però ha l'aggravante di aver pure la protagonista non propriamente convincente. Idem i comprimari: con il risultato che il cast pare composto da cani che non aiuta ad immedesimarti nella storia.

Ma la storia appunto, come è?

Non è che si sia capito molto ma da quello che ho intuito, Amensalism parla di un bambino che muore e sulla strada per l'aldilà, Dio o chi per lui, gli propone di salvargli la vita in cambio di una persona a sua scelta. Il bambino fa il nome di una sua compagna di scuola - rea di averlo accusato ingiustamente di furto - che si rivelerà essere la lead. A quel punto, il bambino viene avvolto da fiori rossi che gli comprimono il cuore e che glielo stringeranno fino a fargli venire ictus ogni volta che è nelle vicinanze di qualcuno che muore. #nientedomandeplease

Stacco. Siamo nel presente e il bambino è diventato PrincePsyco, bodyguard dal superpotere di poter prevedere la morte delle persone. Ci viene detto che durante la crescita ha tentato di salvare vite usando il suo potere ma che ha sempre fallito.

Nel mentre la bambina maledetta dal mini lead è diventata un avvocato (senza arte). Seriamente, uno degli avvocati peggiori che io abbia mai visto. Ed ecco che incontra il lead in un bar. Prince Psyco riconosce subito la ragazza come quella che lui ha maledetto ed a metà della quarta puntata è già mezzo innamorato di lei. #ilperchérimarràunmistero

I due lead si conosceranno e faranno amicizia, fino al punto che uniranno le forze per salvare i morti che Prince Psyco prevede. E potrei essere una cagacazzi nel ricordare come quando Prince rivela alla protagonista i suoi poteri,quella, anziché portarlo in una clinica psichiatrica, gli crede immediatamente e proponga la collab in virtù di essere gli eroi dei poveri e salvare vite. Manco la tensione sanno fare.

Solo che c'è un problema: i due lead riescono a salvare la vita ad una persona di cui il lead aveva previsto la morte...ma si scopre che per par condicio si fa male la protagonista. Insomma, se salvano la vita ad una persona qualcun 'altro si farà male al posto suo. Non solo. Viene fuori - non ricordo assolutamente come - che per via della maledizione scagliata da piccoli, più Prince Psyco vive, meno vivrà la lead. #zanzanzaaaaaaaaaan

Il tutto questo bordello altre due cose: un serial killer che miete vittime perché sì e l'incidente che ha causato la morte dei genitori della lead e su cui la protagonista sta investigando.

Lo so, detta così sta serie sembra una gran figata. Un super fantasy con una storia d'amore e morte travagliata e con un pizzico di investigazione.

Ma tenendo a mente le incredibili doti attoriali del cast, ho trovato la serie davvero difficile da gestire: una marea di cose che succedono senza motivo e sopratutto senza il mio minimo interesse. Ma poi troppe cose: serial killer, ictus, investigazioni, misteri... non sono riuscita a stargli dietro.

Oltre a questo, non è che i due lead fossero tutta sta attrattiva. La protagonista - forse per fare il paio con Prince Psyco - pareva bipolare. Mentre Prince, forse memore del suo ruolo in Attention, love! , ritirava fuori quel " vorrei stare con te. Ma non posso. E allora ti sto dietro ma non troppo." Roba da prenderlo a badilate nei denti.

Io e la vero abbiamo resistito per un pò...ma poi è stato più forte di noi e siamo state costrette a dropparlo per preservare la nostra sanità mentale: io di vedere Prince Psyco che angsta - male tra l'altro - perché non può stare con la lead, non me lo merito.

Ed è così che siamo sbarcate tra le rassicuranti braccia di Vincenzo. Big Boss per gli amici.

Vincenzo è stata una boccata d'aria fresca: non solo perché rispetto ad Amentalist il cast è decisamente più preparato ma anche perché la sceneggiatura, scrittura, narrativa e TUTTO il resto, è decisamente meglio del drama taiwanese di cui sopra.

Senza andare troppo per lo specifico su questo drama e cercando di essere sbrigativa, le cose che mi hanno colpito sono:

L'Italia. Poiché Vincenzo è mezzo italiano, l'italia viene buttata nel mezzo della serie ogni tre per due...ed io ho adorato questa cosa. Il Bel Paese viene rappresentato sì stereotipato, ma in modo bello. Quasi celebrativo. Devo dire che mi sono sentita onorata di essere italiana.

Big Boss. Attore bravissimo e convincente, il buon Big Boss mi ha fatto tornare la fede nella professione attoriale dopo quella brutta prova di Prince Chiu e lo amerò sempre per questo. Egli riesce a dare espressione e caratterizzazione al suo personaggio passando da spietato mafioso a personaggio comico in mezza puntata. Stupendo.

La Lead. Questa protagonista è davvero interessante, divertente, tosta e stronza tutto nello stesso momento. Lei si allontana decisamente dalle solite lead tutte acqua e sapone pronte per la Santità salendo direttamente sul carro di Satana, come una Regina. Esattamente come Vincenzo - ma un pò meno - la lead è un personaggio grigio e sfaccettato e per questo diecimila volte più bella di qualsiasi altra lead.

I condomini. Una gabbia di matti che alla fine amera. Dal ex gangster ora dirigente di un agenzia di viaggi su mongolfiera per criminali che vogliono lasciare il paese, ad ex lottatori olimpici di sport da combattimento. Da agenti segreti in incognito ad hacker super inquietanti... i personaggi che ruotano attorno al condominio sono uno più caricatura dell'altro, ma proprio per questo l'ho trovati adorabili. Sono ovviamente caricaturali ma poiché tutta la serie è impregnata di sottile caricatorialità, i condomini sono la rappresentazione perfetta di tutto ciò.

Il genere. Vincenzo è un genere Commedia con Crime e Law ma credo che si sia mischiato il tutto in un modo esemplare. La serie fa ridere, tanto. Ma allo stesso tempo ha momenti di criminalità e botte e scene dove la legge la fa da padrone. Ed il tutto è mixato così perfettamente che non mi sono mai annoiata in 20 episodi da un ora a botta. Complimenti. Inoltre è tutto volutamente esagerato e comico cosicché sembra che la stessa serie si prenda per il culo da sola.

Qui per ricordare quando Vincenzo venne salvato dalla morte da un piccione e dai suoi amici.

Le azioni di Vincenzo. Vincenzo è uno stereotipo su gambe. Lui è un fenomeno: spara, combatte, intriga. E' bello, affascinante, astuto, ricco, saggio, ha il caz...o di un metro.[cit] E' sempre un passo avanti a tutti. Sa sempre tutto e risolve ogni cosa senza nessun problema. Questa caratterizzazione potrebbe essere fastidiosa poiché troppo perfetto, ma siccome è resa in modo divertente e allo stesso tempo volutamente epico, non mi ha dato fastidio ma anzi mi sono divertita parecchio.

Cosa che poi ho amato particolarmente è il modus operandi da mafioso di Vincenzo. Nel giro di 20 episodi avrà ammazzato almeno una decina di persone. Forse di più. E ho amato che le abbia uccise torturandole. Ora, non dico questo perché amo la tortura. Anzi. Ma se mi fai una serie con protagonista un mafioso che ammazza senza starci troppo a pensare, così mi deve rimanere. Perché ragazzi...è un attimo che a questi lead prendano la strada della santità e diventino dei Buoni Samaritani, tutti pace amore e buoni sentimenti.

6) Il burattino. Lo ammetto: quando è morto ho pianto. Il povero fratello di Babu era l'unico personaggio vagamente realistico della serie e quello più umano di tutti. Ed io l'ho amato per questo. Tantissimo. La sua bromance con Vincenzo - che certe volte, da certi sguardi pareva un BL - era così carina e commovente che ho davvero tifato per lui. Soprattutto mi piaceva la sua indecisione nell'uccidere suo fratello: forse non sarà stato il personaggio più intelligente della storia ma sicuramente è stato il migliore.

Ma quindi è tutto oro?

No, manco per il caz..o.

Prima di tutto, non mi è piaciuta la storyline della mamma di Vincenzo. A me di questa donna - di cui non mi sconfinferava manco la caratterizzazione troppo remissiva - non mi è mai fregato nulla e quando è morta non ho provato niente se non un sentimento di liberazione perché finalmente si chiudeva la sua storyline. Io non so quale sia stato il mio problema con lei: la caratterizzazione? il fatto che c'erano personaggi più interessanti di lei? l'eccessiva storia drammatica che sfiorava il pietismo?

Altro dramma negativo sono stati i villain della storia. A parte la procuratrice - unico vero nemico con del cervello - Babu è stata una mezza delusione. Pareva un fenomeno tale da impegnare Vincenzo ma alla fine è risultato solo uno psicopatico violento senza un guizzo di astuzia. Vincenzo l'ha fregato in tutti i modi possibili e lui si è ritrovato a fare da pedina nel piano del suo nemico senza nemmeno rendersene conto.

Perché chiariamoci: uccidere la madre di Vincenzo è stata una stronzata. Se l'obbiettivo era eliminare Vincenzo o farlo tornare in Italia, l'assassino della madre come avrebbe potuto aiutare a raggiungere questo risultato? L'hanno ammazzata solo per farlo incazzare. Ma ai fini dei loro piani... si sono solo dati la zappa nei piedi da soli.

Concludendo Vincenzo è un drama da vedere. Perfetto per farsi intrattenere, offre una storia intrigante e carina con personaggi ben caratterizzati e volutamente caricati per strappare la risata e alleggerire il tutto. Super consigliato.

Il Marvel Cinematic Universe oggi è un mondo ipercinetico e variegato, capace di offrire ogni genere di avventura, dalla fantascienza con I Guardiani della Galassia allo spionaggio, come dimostrato dalla recente serie The Falcon & The Winter Soldier. Una simile struttura narrativa può permettersi queste divagazioni solo se poggia su solide fondamenta, che nel nostro caso sono le metalliche spalle di un’armatura rossa e dorata, indossata per la prima volta il 2 maggio 2008 da un playboy, miliardario, filantropo. L’ovvio riferimento è a Iron Man, primo capitolo delle avventure cinematografiche del Vendicatore Dorato di casa Marvel, oggi considerato come il primo passo del Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Con il senno di poi, è facile identificare in Iron Man un primo capitolo promettente per il nascente MCU, ma se ritornassimo al 2008, e fossimo un pizzico cinici, non potremmo fare a meno di chiederci quante possibilità potevano esserci con un attore dal grande talento stoltamente sprecato come Robert Downey Jr. e un personaggio non di primissima fascia della Casa delle Idee possano diventare la colonna portante di un progetto di così grande ambizione. Nonostante questo scetticismo, i Marvel Studios investirono su questa strana coppia, spinti da un’idea che da anni cercava di approdare al cinema.

Iron Man: dal fumetto al cinema

Fin dai primi anni ’90, infatti, in casa Marvel si voleva trasportare Iron Man nel mondo del cinema. Prima ancora di Blade, X-Men e Spider-Man, era il miliardario in armatura il personaggio designato a traghettare i fumetti Marvel sul grande schermo. All’epoca i cinecomic non erano ancora il Sacro Graal che veneriamo oggi, motivo per cui gli Universal Studios, che avevano acquistato i diritti del personaggio, miravano a realizzare un film dal budget contenuto, utile per tastare il terreno. Il successo del primo Batman l’anno precedente e la memoria del Superman di Donner era dei segnali incoraggianti, ma prima di investire su una grande produzione era meglio realizzare un progetto semplice ma efficace.

Il compito inizialmente su Stuart Gordon (Re-Animator, Tesoro mi si sono ristretti i ragazzi), ma dopo una lunga traversia tra sceneggiature mai completate e complicazioni varie, si arriva al 1996, quando i diritti di Iron vengono acquistati dalla 20th Century Fox, un cambio che comporta anche un cambio di percezione sulla potenziale qualità del prodotto finale, tanto che due attori si propongono come interpreti: Nicholas Cage e Tom Cruise. Il primo è da sempre un appassionato di fumetti, già reduce da un fallito tentativo di trasposizione cinematografica di un comics, il famigerato Superman di Tim Burton. Cruise, invece, si sta avviando verso il suo ruolo di attore d’azione, ma il suo interesse venne preso maggiormente in considerazione, tanto che in una miniserie a fumetti del periodo, Extremis, Tony Stark venne ritratto con le sue fattezze.

La 20th Century iniziò a valutare seriamente di realizzare questo film, tanto da coinvolgere il creatore del personaggio, Stan Lee, come supporto per Jeff Vintar, incaricato di scrivere la sceneggiatura. I due idearono una storia da toni fantascientifici, identificando in MODOK l’antagonista; questa prima stesura convinse gli studios, che chiesero a Jeffrey Cane di limare alcuni dettagli in modo da arrivare a una versione finale, nello stesso periodo in cui si cercò di coinvolgere nel progetto Quentin Tarantino come regista. Nel frattempo, la 20th Century Fox aveva acquisito i diritti di altri personaggi della Casa della Idee, come Fantastici Quattro e X-Men, che vennero ritenuti più promettenti, una visione che spinse la major a cedere i diritti di Iron Man alla New Line Cinema.

Il rapporto tra la New Line Cinema e la Marvel aveva già dato vita al primo film dedicato a un personaggio della Casa delle Idee, Blade. Quando nel 2000 i diritti di Iron Man vennero rilevati dalla New Line, la casa di produzione aveva assunto un team di scrittori (Ted Ellito, Terry Rossio e Tim McCanlies), che non si era limitato a immaginare un film dedicato a Tony Stark, ma vedeva un potenziale in questa occasione: creare un universo di storie e personaggi. Tanto che si immaginarono camei di altre figure del Marvel Universe, come Nick Fury, di cui si iniziò a ipotizzare un film. Da queste prime idee, la sceneggiatura di Iron Man passò diverse fasi, che videro un primo cattivo nel Mandarino, in seguito accantonato per dare spazio a una trama in cui Howard Stark sarebbe divenuto un villain con il nome di War Machine. Allo stesso modo, vennero avvicinati diversi registi, tra cui Joss Whedon, ma anche in questo caso le titubanza fecero scorrere il tempo sino al 2004, quando il fallimento del progetto affidato a Nick Cassavettes, portò al momento in cui tutto cambiò: i diritti di Iron Man tornarono in mano a Marvel.

Iron Man e la nascita del Marvel Cinematic Universe

Nel 2005, in casa Marvel si era cominciato cambiare la percezione dello sfruttamento dei propri personaggi. Alcuni degli eroi più amati erano stati affidati grandi nomi, come 20th Century Fox e Sony, e i vertici di Marvel Studios decisero di seguire una strada differente: realizzare in autonomia le pellicole ispirate ai propri eroi. Iron Man venne identificato come il primo supereroe del Marvel Universe cinematografico, anche se questa scelta costrinse gli Studios a confrontarsi con una realtà inattesa: nessun professionista voleva avvicinarsi al progetto. I motivi, sostanzialmente, erano la scarsa fiducia nel fatto che il film sarebbe stata una produzione interna e che il personaggio era poco più di uno sconosciuto. Quest’ultima considerazione venne confermata da alcuni focus group organizzati da Marvel, che rivelarono come per la gente Iron Man era poco più di un robot. Era necessario, quindi, ribaltare questa immagine dell’alter ego di Tony Stark, compito che venne affidato a un nome oggi considerato uno dei grandi narratori della pop culture: Jon Favreau.

Favreau si era già avventurato nel mondo Marvel, avendo partecipato nel ruolo di Foggy Nelson in Daredevil (2003), occasione in cui aveva stretto amicizia con Avi Arad. I due erano intenzionati a realizzare un progetto assieme, e Iron Man divenne l’occasione giusta per provarci. Favreau aveva le idee chiare su come presentare Iron Man al pubblico, appellandosi alla sua umanità e intessendo una storia che avesse suggestioni da spy story, umanizzando il più possibile il personaggio.

Era necessario creare una origin story che mostrasse in modo chiaro Tony Stark sul piano umano, prima che su quello supereroistico. Favreau decise che il suo Iron Man sarebbe stato il riflesso dell’avvenuta consapevolezza di Tony Stark di come il mondo fosse diverso dalla sua percezione agevolata, costringendolo ad affrontare la verità nel modo più duro possibile. Per farlo, si riscrissero le origini del personaggio, attualizzandolo anche storicamente, ma cercando di preservare lo spirito autentico di Iron Man, avvalendosi della collaborazioni di nomi importanti della storia editoriale del Vendicatore (Mark Millar, Joe Quesada, Brian Michael Bendis).

Per il ruolo del protagonista, la prima scelta di Favrau era stata Sam Rockwell, che si dimostrò interessato al ruolo, ma a cambiare tutto fu un provino di un altro attore: Robert Downey Jr. Attore con un burrascoso passato di dipendenze e riabilitazione, Downey Jr. tra la seconda metà degli anni ’80 e i primi anni ’90 era considerato una delle grandi promesse del cinema, ma quando i suoi problemi con droga e alcol lo assalirono, la sua carriera parve finire. Graziato da una seconda occasione, grazie all’aiuto e alla fiducia di alcuni colleghi, Downey Jr,. tornò a recitare, dopo un lungo percorso di riabilitazione, all’inizio del nuovo millennio in film come Gothika, e Zodiac, ricordando a tutti le sue incredibili doti artistiche.

Durante la sua audizione per il ruolo di Tony Stark, l’attore non fece mistero della sua passione per il personaggio, ma a convincere Favreau fu un aspetto più intimo del personaggio:

“I momenti più alti e quelli più infimi dell’esistenza di Robert erano sotto gli occhi di tutti. Doveva trovare un equilibrio intimo per superare gli ostacoli che ne avevano rovinato la carriera. E questo era Tony Stark!”

La scelta di Robert Downey Jr. venne vista come una scommessa troppo rischiosa, ma Favreau non intendeva cedere su questa decisione. Per il regista, la vita drammatica di Downey Jr era una chiave emotiva vincente per dare uno spessore umano credibile al personaggio, che nei comics aveva attraversato momenti simili, come nel celebre arco narrativo di Il Demone nella bottiglia. Questa adamantina convinzione di Favreau alla fine ebbe la meglio, facendo ottenere a Robert Downey Jr. il ruolo che per dieci anni avrebbe riportato la sua carriera nell’olimpo di Hollywood, scalzando concorrenti del calibro di Timothy Oliphant, Rob Lowe, Clive Owen e Hugh Jackman.

Per il suo Tony Stark, Robert Downey Jr non si affidò solo alle sue esperienze personali, ma modellò il personaggio su Elon Musk, che per l’attore era un ideale Iron Man. La verve di RDJ, come è stato amichevole soprannominato l’interprete di Tony Stark, non tardò a manifestarsi sul set, divenendo un tratto essenziale del personaggio. Dato che quando le riprese iniziarono non era ancora stata terminata l’ultima revisione della sceneggiatura, Robert Downey Jr ne approfittò per improvvisare numerose battute e attribuire al suo personaggio alcuni vezzi che trovava divertente, contribuendo a creare una sinergia tra interprete e personaggio che è divenuta uno dei tratti più riconoscibili del suo lungo sodalizio con l’eroe di casa Marvel. Non stupisce quindi che la celebre scena in cui Tony Stark rivela a tutti la sua identità segreta sia stata improvvisata da Robert Downey Jr, cogliendo di sorpresa la troupe, ma rivelandosi come un risvolto emotivo accattivante per la trama del film.

Creare il mondo di Iron Man

Dopo aver deciso di non mostrare subito un villain storico del personaggio come il Mandarino, Favreau decise di cambiare totalmente approccio, preferendo creare un contesto narrativo ampio ma non totalmente svelato già nel primo film. Da questa idea nacquero i Dieci Anelli, presenza che sarebbe divenuta una costante dell’MCU, e concentrandosi su una minaccia più concreta e vicina alle avventure del personaggio. Venne quindi identificato come antagonista Obadiah Stane, che avrebbe affrontato Tony con una propria armatura, citando la run di Armor Wars.

Per realizzare le armature, ci si avvalse del maestro Stan Winston, che diede un tocco di personalità ad ogni armatura. Per la Mark I, costruita da Tony per fuggire dalla sua prigionia, il look venne definito ragionando in termini di recupero, considerato come questa prima armatura era funzionale alla fuga e a un attacco frontale. Diverso fu l’approccio per la realizzazione della Mark II, realizzando pensando alle line dei prototipi di velivoli sperimentali, e la Mark III, alla cui realizzazione partecipò anche il designatore Adi Granov, autore delle tavole della saga di Extremis, fonte di ispirazione del terzo film dedicato a Testa di Latta. Il lavoro di Stan Winston in Iron Man fu parte integrante nel dare al personaggio una definizione inziale delle sue armature, un’opera che ha un sapore dal retrogusto amaro, considerato che Winston, leggenda del cinema, si spense un mese dopo l’uscita del film nelle sale americane.

Io sono Iron Man

All’uscita nelle sale, Iron Man non si rivelò semplicemente una scommessa vinta, ma fu un vero e proprio fenomeno, che oggi possiamo rivedere a piacimento su Disney+. Ogni dubbio sull’avere affidato a un attore a rischio come Robert Downey Jr. un ruolo simile evaporò quando Tony Stark prese vita sullo schermo, presentandosi come una figura eclettica ma credibile, con i suoi drammi interiori, valorizzati dal suo percorso di evoluzione da fabbricante di morte a eroe. Sin da questa prima apparizione nel ruolo di Testa di Latta, Downey Jr ha creato una singolare sinergia con il suo alter ego che spesso ha spinto gli appassionati dove finisse l’uno e iniziasse l’altro.

Difficile oggi immaginare un Marvel Cineamtic Universe senza Tony Stark. Soprattutto, un Tony Stark diverso da quello offerto da Robert Downey Jr, che divenne subito parte integrante del nascente Marvel Cinematic Universe, figurando nella scena post credit del secondo film della saga, Hulk, uscito due mesi dopo Iron Man. Dopo dieci anni passati a indossare l’armatura del Vendicatore Dorato, dopo aver compiuto l’estremo sacrifico in Avengers: Endgame, questo legame che sembrava indissolubile tra attore e personaggio è arrivato al termine, tra lo sconforto dei fan e la necessità di un attore di liberarsi da quella che rischiava di diventare una maschera che ne offuscava la creatività e la bravura. Dieci anni di convivenza, un capitolo importante per una carriera e per una rivoluzione del mondo dell’entertainment quale è il Marvel Cinematic Universe, che son infine giunti a una conclusione, quando l’eroe e l’attore, in un tutt’uno, si sono accomiatati dal pubblico nello stesso modo con cui avevano avviato questa splendida amicizia, con tre semplice parole:

“Io sono Iron Man”

Nel lontano gennaio 2016, questa serie tv stava semplicemente nascendo. Niente era sicuro, niente era scritto. Ad aprile abbiamo avuto l’ufficializzazione da parte di Marvel: THE PUNISHER è tornato. The Punisher sarebbe finalmente tornato il 17 novembre, solo su Netflix.

Nato come spin off del noto “Daredevil” sempre dell’omonima, THE PUNISHER è una serie tv  basata non solo sulla vendetta ma anche sull’amore.

Frank Castle (Jon Bernthal), dopo aver perso la sua famiglia, dopo aver vendicato la morte della moglie e dei figli, uccidendo tutti i responsabili, il pluridecorato veterano del Colpo dei Marine Frank Castle – che a differenza degli altri vigilanti a Hell’s Kitchen non ha super poteri ma può contare su una enorme forza fisica, una insormontabile forza di volontà, un’ampia conoscenza delle armi ed eccellenti doti tattiche – scopre un complotto che non coinvolge soltanto la malavita di New York, ma ha radici ben più profonde. Ormai noto nella Grande Mela con l’appellativo The Punisher, Frank deve scoprire la verità su ingiustizie che non riguardano solo la sua famiglia.

The Punisher è quindi una serie tv molto cruda, a mio parere. E’ sicuramente la serie tv più violenta che io abbia mai visto dopo “The Walking Dead” di cui, sì, ha fatto parte anche Jon. E’ piena di violenza, sesso, sangue, esecuzioni e sparatorie. Tanto da renderla adatta solo ad un pubblico maturo. Mette sicuramente in discussione il nostro rapporto con le autorità. Ma The Punisher è questo. Lui è il punitore. Non potevamo aspettarci di meglio. Jon è sicuramente il “The Punisher” giusto. Lui non ha bisogno di nessuna maschera, nè di possedere un mitra tra le mani. Jon è già The Punisher al primo sguardo. E’ riuscito sicuramente a dare “movimento” a questa trama. Che all’inizio è sicuramente poco importante. L’importante all’inizio è capire perché un uomo così grande e grosso è così arrabbiato col mondo che lo circonda perché si, anche questa serie tv presenta la prima puntata quasi impossibile da capire. Come se si divertissero gli autori a giocare con la nostra immaginazione, quasi come se volessero vedere se ci arriviamo da soli alla conclusione. The Punisher ha sicuramente una bellissima trama centrale e un cast spettacolare a rendergli onore.

Non ci resta che aspettare la seconda stagione insieme 🙂

Considerato un vero e proprio enfant prodige, Xavier Dolan è certamente uno dei nomi più importanti per la cinematografia mondiale degli ultimi anni. Particolarmente prolifico, si è affermato nell’ultimo decennio come regista di alcuni acclamati film, che hanno svelato al mondo le sue affascinanti doti narrative.

Distintosi per la sua poliedricità, Dolan ha ricoperto diversi ruoli in ambito cinematografico, ottenendo alcuni tra i maggiori onori tributati in questo settore, divenendo sin da giovanissimo uno dei nomi di punta del presente e del futuro della settima arte.

Ecco 10 cose che non sai di Xavier Dolan.

Xavier Dolan: i suoi film

1. Ha scritto e diretto lungometraggi di grande successo. All’età di diciannove anni Dolan esordisce alla regia con il film J’ai tué ma mère (2009), con cui impone su di sé le attenzioni della critica. Successivamente realizza Les amours imaginaires (2010), l’ambizioso Laurence Anyways (2012) e Tom à la ferme (2013). Nel 2014 realizza quello che da molti è considerato il suo capolavoro, Mommy, che gli permette di ottenere importanti riconoscimenti e richiamare su di sé un’attenzione globale. Negli ultimi anni realizza È solo la fine del mondo (2016), con gli attori Vincent Cassel e Marion Cotillard, il suo primo film statunitense La mia vita con John F. Donovan (2018), con Jacob Tremblay, Kit Harrington e Natalie Portman, e il film Matthias & Maxime (2019).

2. Si è affermato come attore. Dolan nasce come attore, debuttando nel 2008 con il film horror Martyrs (2008), per poi recitare in alcuni dei film da lui anche diretti, come J’ai tué ma mère, Les amours imaginaires, Laurence Anyways, Tom à la ferme e Matthias & Maxime. Ha però recitato anche per film diretti da altri, come Elephant Song (2014), Boy Erased (2018), 7 sconosciuti a El Royale (2018), e in It – Capitolo due (2019).

3. È anche produttore, costumista, montatore e doppiatore. Negli anni Dolan si è affermato come una personalità in grado di ricoprire numerosi ruoli all’interno del settore. Oltre ad aver ricoperto anche il ruolo di produttore e montatore per tutti i suoi film, il regista si è occupato anche dei costumi per alcuni di questi, personalizzando così ulteriormente le proprie opere. Dolan si è anche affermato come doppiatore, prestando la voce per la lingua francese del Québec al personaggio di Ron Weasley nei vari film di Harry Potter e di Jacob Black nella saga di Twilight.

4. Ha costruito il film su di un insolito formato. Con i suoi film Dolan ha affermato scelte di regia talvolta particolarmente radicali, e per Mommy non ha fatto di meno. Il regista ha infatti costruito il film con un aspect radio pari 1:1, ottenendo così la forma di un quadrato. Tale scelta è data dalla volontà di costruire un’atmosfera claustrofobica, che costringendo a inquadrare una sola persona per volta esalta le emozioni dei protagonisti.

5. Ha ottenuto importanti riconoscimenti. Con il film Mommy Dolan ha consacrato la propria carriera, ottenendo una fama tale da poter vedere distribuite le proprie opere in molti e nuovi paesi. Con tale opera, inoltre, vince il Premio della giuria al Festival di Cannes, il secondo premio più importante dopo la Palma d’Oro.

6. Ha protestato contro la nota azienda di streaming. In una lettera postata sul proprio account Twitter, Dolan ha accusato Netflix di aver modificato il formato del film Mommy, portandolo dal suo 1:1 ad un più comune 1.85:1. Il regista ha così lamentato la perdita di potenziale emotivo dato da quella scelta, affermando che nessuno al di fuori di lui può autorizzare simili ritocchi ai propri film.

7. Ha richiesto un ruolo nel celebre film horror. Dopo aver visto il primo capitolo dedicato alla trasposizione del celebre romanzo di Stephen King, Dolan ha incontrato il regista Andrés Muschietti pregandolo di inserirlo nel sequel. Questi lo accontentò assegnandoli il ruolo di Adrian Mellon, personaggio omosessuale che finisce nelle grinfie del terribile Pennywise all’inizio del film.

8. Ha recitato nel film trattante l’omosessualità. Nel 2018 Dolan recita nel film Boy Erased, con protagonista Lucas Hedges, e basato sulla vera storia di Garrard Conley, raccontata nel romanzo che dà il titolo alla pellicola. Qui ricopre il ruolo di Jon, uno dei ragazzi che il personaggio principale incontra alla terapia di conversione dall’omosessualità a cui i genitori lo costringono a partecipare.

9. È tornato a recitare per un suo film. Il regista non partecipava ad attore ad un suo film dal 2013, ed è tornato a farlo per il suo nuovo lungometraggio Matthias & Maxime, presentato in concorso al Festival di Canne nel 2019. La storia racconta dei due ragazzi del titolo, amici sin dall’infanzia che in seguito ad una scommessa persa sono costretti a darsi un bacio, mettendo in dubbio la loro identità e i sentimenti che provano l’uno per l’altro.
