Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani Fails to Match 83's Opening Weekend Collections
Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani, the latest film from Karan Johar, had a disappointing opening weekend at the box office. The film, which stars Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt, grossed just Rs. 35.25 crore in its first three days. This is significantly lower than the opening weekend collections of 83, which was another film starring Ranveer Singh. 83 grossed Rs. 53.30 crore in its first three days.
There are a number of reasons why Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani may have underperformed at the box office. First, the film was released in the midst of a number of other big-budget releases, including Jug Jugg Jeeyo, Samrat Prithviraj, and Vikram. Second, the film’s marketing campaign was not as effective as 83’s. Third, the film’s subject matter may not have appealed to a wide enough audience.
Despite its disappointing opening weekend, Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani is still expected to do well in the long run. The film has received positive reviews from critics, and it is likely to attract audiences who are looking for a more mature and nuanced love story.

The film’s word-of-mouth is positive, which could help to attract more audiences. The film is also scheduled to release in a number of international markets in the coming weeks, which could boost its box office earnings. The film’s release coincides with the festive season, which could also help to boost its box office earnings.

Bollywood is not dying; it is all rubbish; says Karan Johar
Karan Johar says that considering Bollywood to have come to an end is one of the gravest mistakes of 2022. He called ‘rubbish’ the perceptions claiming that Bollywood has come to an end. It is no secret that in the recent past, several big-budget Bollywood movies have fall flat on their face at the box office whereas south Indian films have done a great job. The success of south Indian movies in contrast with the failure of Bollywood films indicates that Bollywood is struggling. It is also being perceived that the days of Bollywood dominance and far over.
Karan Johar however denies that Bollywood is no more the leader. He says that although some Bollywood movies have had a hard time making money at the box office, movies with essence would do business certainly.
While talking to a leading news house, Karan said, “It's all nonsense and rubbish. Good films will always work. Gangubai Kathiawadi and Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 have done huge numbers. We have done numbers on Jug Jugg Jeeyo as well. Films which aren't good can never work and they've never worked.”
The film quoted by Karan was successful as Jug Jugg Jeeyo earned  84 crores at the box office whereas Alia Bhatt-starrer Gangubai Kathiawadi made 180 crores and  Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 made over ₹250 crores.
Karan also said that Bollywood is expecting some huge films now and they will certainly be successful. Now we have many big films coming up. We have Laal Singh Chaddha, Raksha Bandhan, and Brahmastra, then there is Rohit Shetty's film and finally, we are ending the year with a Salman Khan film. There's so much to look forward to. We have all the love, we just need to create the right content to create it,” he added.
