Summary: Now that your life has turned upside down, are you still willing to put your siblings' feelings first? Or would you rather fight for your feelings and do what makes you happy regardless of the consequences that might result in the future?

Belly's Pov
Me and Jeremiah decided to go to Aunt Julia's house — just to try to talk to her, maybe we can do something — maybe we can stop her from trying to sell the house.
We even decided to buy her flowers as an offering. As we arrived to her house, I took a deep breath and decided to hop out of the car —Jeremiah following behind me. I walked towards the door with Jeremiah beside me before ringing the door bell.
Aunt Julia opened the door before saying "Can I help you?" she asked. Jeremiah walked towards her and hugged her "Hey Aunt Julia" he said smiling — before pulling away. "Uh uhm Conrad told me you were here"
Aunt Julia looked at Jeremiah "Oh Jeremiah" she paused "and you are?" referring to me "I am Belly, Belly Conklin. Laurel Park’s daughter, Susannah's bestfriend" I told her smiling gently — giving her the flowers that I was holding.
"Oh wow, it's been so long" she said, scratching her forehead. "Uhm, we just wanted to say hi and maybe talk a little bit" Jeremiah chuckled before looking at her and smiling.
"Look uhm if its about the house, I'm sorry. It's decided" Aunt Julia said — smiling gently. Jeremiah's mouth frowned.
"Uhm we're actually doing an open house tomorrow."
"You.. you have to know how much that house means to Jeremiah and Conrad. That was their place, how-how can you let go of such a-a magical place?" I asked Aunt Julia.
"I remember her calling it that" Aunt Julia paused "But i-it's not personal" Jeremiah looked at her — brows furrowed "I bet" Jeremiah smiled sarcastically.
"I'm sorry, I have to go back to work" Aunt Julia said before closing the door. I looked at Jeremiah — I place my hand on his shoulder and patted it. We walked towards the car and drove off.
"I'm sorry, Jere" Jeremiah looked at me "It's okay, we cant really change someone's mind" he said — placing a hand on my shoulder.
TIME SKIP
"Where'd you guys go?" Conrad asked — his hair wet, he was wearing a surf suit. "We went to Aunt Julia's house" Jeremiah sighed.
Conrad face started to fill with hope "H-how did it go?" I looked at him "She's sure about this, Conrad. I don't think we can change her mind." I said -- he nodded before saying "Ofcourse"
───────────────────────────
It seems like the news that we were here in Cousins have spread fast as Taylor and Steven are on the way here. Apparently, me and Taylor were bad at lying thats why Steven knew about it immediately.
I hoped that Y/N was with them but Steven said no. He tried to push her to go but she said she need to do much more important things, I just miss her. We all thought that this news would make her come here but we were wrong.
Conrad and Jeremiah decided to talk to their dad. “Dad should be calling soon” Conrad said, informing Jeremiah.
“Do you guys want to talk to him alone?” I asked — not wanting them to be weirded out that I was there. “I-I can wait upstairs.”
As Jeremiah sat down, Conrad looked at me before saying “You helped me and J get this far. Plus its your house as much as it is ours” he smiled gently. I sat down as the phone started to ring.
AFTER A FEW MINUTES
We did everything, everything to save the house. Nothing is working, their dad is just letting it go. He just kept on sayong that it was legally Aunt Julia’s — it seemed like he never cared for it, for the house.
As the call ended, Taylor and Steven arrived to the house, surprising Conrad and Jeremiah. They were confused about why we looked down — I forgot to tell them that the house is on sale.
“We’re losing the house” Jeremiah said, sighing. “They’re putting it up for sale”
“Oh Cinderbelly” Taylor said as I stood up to hug her.
───────────────────────────
Conrad’s Pov
Here I was again, looking for her. Trying to see if she came with Steven and Taylor but no. She hasn’t even responded to my text. Maybe she’s busy.
I walked towards Jeremiah, sitting down beside him. “Hey” I said, patting his shoulder.
“You know, I thought I could convince dad. I thought we could” He sighed.
I nodded and sighed “I thought so too.” chuckling a little bit.
“It’s just.. it feels like everything is slipping away and-and the house is the only thing - the last thing tying us together” It was true, it did feel like it — we didn’t expect that we’d get together like this, that we’d be complete because of this reason.
“We’re not giving up, Jere” I looked at him shaking my head “We’re going to do something about it, I don’t have a plan. Not yet but I’ll do everything, we’ll figure ig out together.” I told Jeremiah. He nodded.
“I-I just hope she’s here, she’s the only one missing Connie” Jeremiah said — referring to Y/N. She just made everything less worse for everyone, I hope she was here too.
“Me too, Jere. Me too” I paused “You know, we should hang out tomorrow. Just all of us staying here for open house, that’d be a good plan” I chuckled
Jeremiah chuckled then nodded “Yeah we should definitely do that”
TIME SKIP
As me and Jeremiah got done talking we went inside the house and decided to hang out with the rest. They all sat down in their own places. “So what do you guys want to watch?” I asked.
“We should do… this one” Belly said — holding up mom’s favorite movie. I smiled taking it from her hands as I walked towards the tv — i mouthed a “thank you” to Belly.
After that, I went and sat the down on the other couch until I looked at my phone — recieving a text. I felt my chest tighten, I need to get out of the house. I stood up from my seat and went straight to the beach.
It was happening again, It attacked me again. I couldn’t breathe, it felt like someone was choking me. I pulled out my phone again — looking if the text was real, it was, I got in but what about Jeremiah, I can’t.
My mind filled with worried, with anxiety, not until another text popped up. It was like a coincidence, the text — my breathing is okay now, my heart is beating at a normal pace. The text was from the one that I have been waiting for.
She responded, it was from Y/N. She was going to come here, she’s coming here to Cousin. We’re complete now.

Discharge Petition for H.R. 7152, the Civil Rights Act of 1964
Record Group 233: Records of the U.S. House of RepresentativesSeries: General Records
This item, H.R. 7152, the Civil Rights Act of 1964, faced strong opposition in the House Rules Committee. Howard Smith, Chairman of the committee, refused to schedule hearings for the bill. Emanuel Celler, Chairman of the Judiciary Committee, attempted to use this discharge petition to move the bill out of committee without holding hearings. The petition failed to gain the required majority of Congress (218 signatures), but forced Chairman Smith to schedule hearings.
88th CONGRESS. House of Representatives No. 5 Motion to Discharge a Committee from the Consideration of a RESOLUTION (State whether bill, joint resolution, or resolution) December 9, 1963 To the Clerk of the House of Representatives: Pursuant to Clause 4 of Rule XXVII (see rule on page 7), I EMANUEL CELLER (Name of Member), move to discharge to the Commitee on RULES (Committee) from the consideration of the RESOLUTION; H. Res. 574 entitled, a RESOLUTION PROVIDING FOR THE CONSIDERATION OF THE BILL (H. Julia Hoffman Fluff Alphabet
Tumblr media Tumblr media
A = Aroma (What do they smell like?)
Whiskey and cherries. No amount of perfume ever quite manages to cover it up, but you wouldn’t want it to.
B = Babe (What would they use as pet names? Do they use them a lot?)
Julia utilizes pet names mostly when she wants to ask a favor of you. She’ll use them more casually as well, but when she really starts laying them on thick, you know what she’s up to.
C = Cuddles (Do they like to cuddle? How would they cuddle?)
She doesn’t consider herself a cuddler, but she is. Especially in her sleep. She likes to throw her arm over you in her sleep and she even holds onto you quite tightly sometimes.
D = Domestic (Do they want to settle down? What would they think about living together?)
She’s not 100% sold on the idea of fully settling down, but she is very agreeable to living together. She wants to be able to share the same space as you whenever she wants.
E = Emotion (How affectionate are they? How do they show affection?)
She’s more affectionate drunk than sober. She’ll hang on you when she’s drunk, but even sober she’s a touchy person.
F = Flirt (How do they flirt? Are they smooth or awkward?)
She’s a bit of a messy flirt. Sometimes she’s able to pull off a line that surprises you, and sometimes she can’t seem to string a coherent thought together around you.
G = Gifts (Are they a gift giver? What kind of gifts do they give?)
She’s really not much of a gift giver. Every once in a while she’ll come up with something so incredibly thoughtful that you’ll wonder how she did it.
H = Hugs (Do they like hugs? How often do they do it? What are their hugs like?)
Julia is pretty neutral on hugs. Sometimes they feel nice, sometimes they feel more stifling. It just depends on her mood.
I = I Love You (How fast do they say the L-word?)
Too fast, and probably drunk. There may even be a time or two she forgets she’s said it. But the first time she says it sober, that’s when she really means it.
J = Jealousy (How jealous do they get? What do they do when they’re jealous?)
She can get pretty jealous, even if her jealousy is unwarranted. Usually she’ll turn doubly hard to a bottle of alcohol to numb the feeling.
K = Kisses (What are their kisses like? Where do they like to kiss you?)
You can always count on Julia’s kisses being full of passion. If she’s going to kiss you, she’s damn well going to make it count.
L = Little ones (How are they around children? Would they want some of their own?)
She’s not great with children, but she’s alright with them for short periods of time. She’s definitely not eager to have any of her own.
M = Meet (How did they meet you?)
At a bar in Collinsport. You kept eyeing her from across the room, so she thought she’d introduce herself and the rest is history.
N = Nurture (Are they good at taking care of you if you’re hurt/sick?)
If you’ve got a hangover then she’s your girl, but if it’s anything else, she’s not so great at helping you through it.
O = Out (What’s a typical date night with them like?)
Old black and white movies, a bottle of wine and conversation. That makes up the vast majority of your date nights.
P = Propose (When do you/they propose? How does the proposal go?)
A proposal may never come, and that’s alright with you and Julia. You like things the way they are, and you don’t need a proposal to solidify your commitment.
Q = Quirk (What small habit/feature/quirk do they have that you find especially endearing?)
The way she lowers her sunglasses at people when she’s judging them. It’s adorable and doubles down her intent to embarrass them.
R = Routine (What does a typical day together look like? Routines, schedules, habits?)
You usually have to get Julia up in the morning, which can be a struggle sometimes. And the rest of your daily routine is basically navigating around one another until you’re both so exhausted that you head to bed.
S = Security (How protective are they? How would they protect you?)
She doesn’t feel the need to be super protective. That’s not saying she won’t step in when someone is saying shit to you. She very much will if she thinks you want or need the backup.
T = Try (How much effort would they put into dates, anniversaries, etc?)
Julia is usually a low effort type, but even so, you find the sort of nice, relaxing. Not everything needs to be an Olympic sport.
U = Unique (What’s something they’d only do for you?)
She’s come to rely on alcohol over the years, but for you, she makes a conscious effort to cut back. You may never get her to stop, but for you she tries her best not to overdo it.
V = Vulnerable (How long does it take them to feel comfortable being vulnerable around you?)
Julia is what she is and she’s going to be upfront about it right off the bat. She doesn’t have time to suffer people who don’t get her.
W = Wardrobe (What would they wear to impress you?)
Mini skirts. She has great legs and she knows you’re always going to be staring when she puts on a mini skirt. She loves to tease you that way.
X = Xtra (A random headcanon for them.)
Julia loves your hair. Whether it’s touching it or smelling it, she just adores it. She’ll go to the bathroom just to smell your shampoo sometimes, especially when you’re away for some reason.
Y = You (What are some things they would like in a partner?)
Someone who isn’t afraid to be themselves and won’t judge her for being her. That’s really all she asks.
Z = Zzz (What are their sleep habits?)
Julia truly sleeps like the dead. It’s a monumental effort in waking her sometimes. The house could be on fire and she’d likely not even know it.

a sapphic lit primer 🌸
also known as, an opportunity to insist you read my favourites
if you’ve ever found yourself wanting to read more sapphic books, but not quite sure where to start, let this be the post for you! if you’re looking for even more sapphic books, i hope you find something in here too.
there are a few books on here i’ve not read, that i wanted to include to raise awareness of them, more than anything. those are marked by *. as such, you will probably also see a fair few more well known books and authors missed off (but i promise i know about them!).
this is not meant to be at all exhaustive! it’s a collection of sapphic books that i’ve read and would rec, meaning there are still tons more out there. & you can find some of those more at @sapphicreadsdb, readsrainbow (which i co-run with @tenderpotter), sapphiclitbot on twitter & my list of every sapphic book i’ve read.
as ever, this was meant to be a relatively short post. haha.
(i promise i did put links on this post, but for some reason those aren’t working on the blog page. dashboard version seems fine, i think.)

FAMILIAL DETAILS ;
v. father : juhwan yun ( sixty-four, hr professional ) w. mother : seonmi ju ( sixty-five, emergency nurse ) x. siblings : none.
HISTORY ;
born in seoul, south korea to an ordinary couple, jia yun was never an easy child. disgruntled by the mundanity of their upbringing, they sought to inflict excitement on the neighbourhood — no matter the means or cost. as a small child, this mostly involved making " potions " of mud, grass and flowers, peddling them to every unfortunate passerby, and inventing fantastical worlds of magic, death and science fiction to coerce the other children into playing with them, but as they grew older other things began to draw their attention.
first it was getting suspended from school for setting off fireworks in the playground — raising serious questions of where a five-year-old even got fireworks from. then it was emulating a tv show hacker and displaying threatening messages on public computers — a visit from the police was arranged, though it did very little to actually get through to jia.
they were sixteen when they started getting involved in actual crime. petty theft from convenience stores turned into bigger theft — electronics, valuables, etc — and by the time they were nineteen, jia was somewhat notorious amongst petty criminals — and the police.
their first foray into law enforcement came in university, when the police recruited them in a quid-pro-quo sort of deal ( help us out and we'll wipe a couple things off your record ) to track down a big time criminal through the internet. this was the moment julia discovered there could be excitement on both sides of the law.
discovering this did not stop jia's dabbling in the criminal sphere, of course, but it did offer them another outlet to evade boredom without the implications on their future. this continued for a few years, until just after graduation jia was approached by a mercy agent scouting for the organisation. naturally, julia said yes, the opportunity being a perfect outlet for them and far more interesting than a career in i.t.
two years of training as a junior agent later, julia graduated to being an intelligence agent and immediately opted in to becoming a radiant. string manipulation hasn't proven to be terribly useful thus far — though it allows them to create excellent tripwires and garottes, and useful for intimidation tactics in interrogations, it's not terribly useful in the computer area, which is where julia prefers to be.
APPLICATION ;
⊠    ɪᴅ  .  .  .  ʟᴏᴀᴅɪɴɢ    ››    [    kim  hieora    /      thirty4    /    agender    /    they/he/she    ]   mercy  headquarters  is  pleased  to  officially  introduce  JIA  “JULIA”  YUN.  they  have  been  apart  of  the  organization  for  twelve  years,  serving  as  AN  INTELLIGENCE  agent  and  has  been  assigned  the  codename  AGENT  ARACHNE.  it's  worth  noting  that  their  file  indicates  they  have  undergone  the  solaris  treatment  and  host  STRING MANPULATION.  according  to  our  dossier,  the  agent  exhibits  a  combination  of  CREATIVITY  and  OBSTINANCE,  fitting  for  someone  reminiscent  of  backroom  deals  and  back  alley  fistfights  ;  tripwires  as  fine  as  spider  silk  ;  always  wanting  something  more  ;  a  future  just  out  of  reach.  prior  to  embarking  on  any  mission,  the  find  solace  in  listening  to  the  song  “stippling“  by  DOUBLE  FACE.  (  thyme.  twenty1.  they/them.  aedt.  none  )
