'Blue Hour ft Julianna Barwick’ by Nosaj Thing

Everything Julianna Barwick touches is magic. Her voice embodies that ethereal immanence so missing in our hyper-accelerationist age. It soars above – it’s the calming, the course-correction, the cure. To listen to it is to slowly escape our own earthly concerns, if only for three minutes. Rooted in a beat paraphrased from Massive Attack’s “Teardrop” – which is itself famously associated with a fetal heartbeat – “Blue Hour” feels like the calling of a new consciousness. A beckoning from a more enlightened world. The single is featured on Nosaj Thing’s upcoming album Continua.

Grâce à ma panne de réveil ce matin, j’ai entendu une bribe de l’émission du matin de France Inter, et j’ai découvert l’existence de ce livre : S’enforester, écrit par Baptiste Morizot (philosophe) avec la photographe Andrea Olga Mantovani au sujet de la dernière forêt primaire d’Europe (non détruite au Moyen-Age) qui se trouve en Pologne.

Je vois les photos et je rêve de voir, voire de posséder ou d’offrir ce livre… qui a l’air sublime. Le propos, de ce qu’il m’a semblé, est également intéressant : parler de la forêt comme d’un lieu à la fois mythologique, décor de contes mais aussi plein de réel et de vie. Un monde en soi, qui n’a pas besoin de l’humain, qui peut l’accueillir mais qui réclame aussi qu’on l’accueille en soi.

Ils ont parlé tous deux de la présence des loups, d’une vieille dame solitaire retirée du monde au passé très urbain, des émotions ressenties dans leur immersion, du changement opéré dans leurs corps et leurs cœurs au contact de la nature sauvage et mystérieuse.

J’ai un peu peur de la forêt, mais le mot me transporte, me fait rêver, et j’ai le désir physique d’en sentir l’odeur.

Il y a un appel, si vous voyez ce que je veux dire. Alors même si j’ai peu de chance d’aller en Pologne prochainement, je veux bien m’enforester dans les environs… en attendant, j’écoute Julianna Barwick.
