You said you were looking for requests so maybe like a fridge x reader where she comes into the game with him and she’s kind of a badass like ruby roundhouse is he’s kind of in awe of her and then that scene with the rope bridges she kind of saves his life and then some fluff after they get out of the game? A/N: I love the Jumanji movies! I’m so glad you asked for a Fridge fic! I love his character! I don’t remember exactly what was said of course because its still in theaters, so wording will be wrong. Story line will be about the same. I was thinking of making a Jumanji story! Who do you guys think should fall for our lovely reader?

SPOILERS AHEAD. DO NOT READ IF YOU HAVEN’T WATCHED JUMANJI THE NEXT LEVEL!!! I’LL TRY NOT TO GO INTO MUCH DETAIL BUT GET THE POINT ACROSS. I WILL SKIP THE ENDING OF THE MOVIE SO I DON’T SPOIL ANYTHING.

I walk out of the bathroom before pulling out my cellphone from my pocket. I smile widely when I see that my boyfriend, Anthony AKA Fridge, has texted me.

I smile to myself. I’m so nervous. I’ve heard all about Martha, Spencer and Bethany, but I haven’t actually met them. I met Fridge in our college English class and we hit it off. It’s been 2 years and we’re going strong.

I haven’t met the group yet because the last two years I spent holiday at my parents house, while Fridge came here. This year my family decided to go on vacation, while I decided here to be with Fridge for Christmas. It was fine, I had some family in his town anyway. My uncle lives close to Fridge in the town and he said I can come stay with him if I wanted too.

I look at Mrs. Johnson and smiles.

“Fridge texted me and told me to meet him at Nora’s to meet everyone.”

She smiles widely, “That’s wonderful. Go on, dear. Go see them. I can finish everything up here.”

“Are you sure, Mrs. Johnson? I can-” Before I finish she cuts me off.

“Go dear. Spend some time with Anthony and his friends.” She smiles.

“Thank you!”

I quickly grab my jacket and walk out the door. I walk to the sidewalk and down the way that I remember going before. Fridge took our car to train today so I couldn’t drive there. It wasn’t too cold out today so I didn’t mind walking. After about 10 minutes I make it to the restaurant. I can see Fridge in the mirror, sitting with two girls at a table. I take a deep breath and walk inside the building. Fridge looks up and smiles widely.

“Y/N!” He stands up and walks over to me.

He pulls me into a huge hug. I hug him back, feeling more comfortable.

“Is this her?” I hear one of the girls say.

Fridge pulls from the hug and smiles. “Yep. This is her. Y/N, this is Bethany.” He points to the blonde haired girl, “and this is Martha.” He points to the red haired girl.

“Hi! It’s very nice to meet you!” I say, putting my hand out.

Bethany pulls me into a hug shocking me. I hug back, giggling slightly.

“Fridge has told us so much about you!” Bethany says, excitedly.

I giggle, “He told me a lot about you guys.”

She pulls from the hug and Martha shakes my hand. We sit down and talk for awhile, having a great time. They noticed as time goes on that Spencer never showed up.

Fridge looks at me then at the other girls, “Come on, lets go see what’s going on with Spencer. Y/N, if you want you can go back to my house.”

“No. I’ll go with you guys. I wanna meet Spencer.” I say, looking at him.

“Are you sure? We can-” Fridge starts.

“No babe. I want to go with you.” I smile before grabbing my coat.

Fridge smiles and pays for our meal. We all get into the cars and drive to a house that Fridge says belonged to Spencer’s family. Fridge holds my hand as we all walk to the front door. Bethany pushes the doorbell and we wait.

An older, short man opens the door in his robe.

“Anthony?” He says.

“Grandpa Eddie?” Fridge says.

“Come in! Come in!” Eddie says, moving out of the doorway.

“I hope we’re not bothering you.” Fridge says leading me inside of the house.

“Oh you’re not bothering me. Now who are these lovely ladies?” He asks, leaning against the wall.

“This is Bethany, Martha, and my girlfriend Y/N.” Fridge says, pointing us out.

Eddie points to Martha, “You’re Spencer’s little girlfriend?”

Martha stutters for a second, “Uhh, yeah.”

He turns toward me, “And Anthony. You have a girlfriend now!”

Fridge chuckles a little, “Yes sir I do.”

We find out that Spencer wasn’t even home. His grandfather thought he was with us. Miles Walker, an older man who had a business with Eddie, is also here, much to Eddie’s disappointment. Fridge talks to them for minute before taking my hand and walking to the kitchen. A few seconds later, the sounds of drums are playing through the house.

Fridge looks at the girls, “I thought it was over.”

“It’s supposed to be!” Bethany says.

We find out way to the basement to see a broken game system on the table.

“Spencer probably went back in.” Martha says, looking at us.

“No! I’m not going back in! We almost died!” Fridge says, shaking his head.

“Wait! What’s going on?” I ask confused.

“3 years ago, we got sucked into a video game. It’s called Jumanji.” Bethany says. “You know he would go back into the game for us. Any of us.”

Fridge sighs and takes my hand, “Alright. Y/N, you stay here.”

“No! I’m going in. I’m not letting you guys go alone. You may have done this before but you’re not going alone.”

Martha reaches forward and grabs the controller. I feel a weird tingle going through my body. I look down at my hands to see a green mist taking over my body.

“Not again! We didn’t even pick our characters.” I hear Fridge yell as he gets sucked into the game.

I scream as I see my body get absorbed into the game system. I open my eyes as I am thrown from a space in the sky. I scream loud as the ground gets closer. I move so I land on my feet and I look around.

“Holy shit.” I stand straight. “Fridge?”

I see a woman in a small shirt and shorts stand up. I look confused. She looks at her hands before looking around.

“M-Martha?” I ask.

She looks at me and nods, “Y/N?”

I nod, “This..this is Jumanji?”

She nods before looking around. A fatter man stands up from the bushes.

“Bethany?” She asks the man.

“No. Its Fridge. Why would-”

He looks down at his hands then his outfit, “Damn it! Why the hell am I the fat white guy?”

“We didn’t get to pick our characters so we probably just got sucked in to a open character.” Martha explains.

“Last time I was at least black! This ain’t fair! You both are hot!” He says, pointing to us. “Wait. Y/N? You’re a new avatar.”

I look confused before looking down at my body. I see I’m wearing a black tight outfit. I walk over toward the water to see what I look like.

Fridge walks over and pulls me back.

“Stay away from the water.”

He explains what happened last time someone got too close to the water. I nod and stay close to him. A tall, buff guy walks over. Turns out that Grandpa Eddie got sucked into the game and took over the avatar of Dr. Smolder Bravestone. Miles took over the character of Franklin Finbar who used to be Fridges character.

Fridge tries to explain the rules of the game to Miles and Eddie but being older, they don’t seem to understand. I hear a noise so I look up above Fridge. A huge snake is right above him. I run over and tackle him out of the way as the snake comes down to eat him. I land on top of him and he looks up at me.

“You just saved me.” He whispers.

“Well yeah.” I giggle slightly.

I stand helping him up, but we look up as we see a hippo come on to land. Miles are saying some facts about it. That’s when we all decide to run away from it. We run toward the plane that was flying above us. The plane lands so we all get inside. Turns out the came is totally different from when they played before. We now have to save a stone from guy and show it to the light.

“Where exactly-” Before I can finish my sentence, Nigel interrupts me.

“Elizabeth Widow, Martial Arts Expert and Franklin Finbar’s girlfriend.” Nigel says.

Miles looks over at me and smiles widely, “Now I have a very beautiful girlfriend!”

I giggle and look over at Fridge.

“Oh hell no!” Fridge says, shaking his head. “I was Mouse way before you were! She was destined to be mine.”

I laugh and smiles. “Don’t worry Fridge. I’m all yours.”

Nigel explains we have to drop out of the plane and land in the desert. Just then he pulls a lever and the back of the plane opens up, causing all of us to fall out of the back of it. I scream as the sand gets closer. I land on the ground and tries to stop myself from rolling. I land on my back and I go to stand up but that's when Fridge bumps into me and causes me to roll down with him. I cough as we finally stop.

“Sorry babe.” He says, coughing with me.

We stand up and look around for everyone else. We walk over to Martha, trying to figure out how to get out of this shit. Fridge pushes his chest and a big screen pops out to show his strengths and weakness. Turns out Shelley’s new strength is Geometry. Ruby’s new strength is nunchucks. Smolder gains a weakness which is switchblade. Finbar can now speak tons of languages.

Marth looks at me, “Elizabeth is a new avatar so we don’t know anything about her.”

Fridge walks over, “Here let me show you how to bring it up.”

I smirk at Fridge, “Go ahead.”

His eyes widen and he pushes my left breast, causing a purple screen to pop out of my shirt.

Strengths: Martial Arts, Gymnastics, Climbing, Blending In, Finbar.

Weakness: Heat (Deserts)

“Your only weakness is the desert? Man that ain’t fair!” Fridge says.

I laugh. “Probably because I’m only wearing black and it gets hot!”

“That and that you can’t do any of your strengths.” Martha smirks slightly looking at Fridge.

“Mine’s cake! It makes me explode!” He says.

“Then we better hurry and get her out of the desert before she explodes from the heat.”

“Wait. Why is her strength Finbar?” He asks looking at the screen again.

“Probably works well with his avatar. Since they are dating.”

“Man! Why can't I be him again!” He shakes his head walking away slightly.

The next few hours go back so fast. We were in dune-buggies running away from the Ostriches. I grabbed one with Miles and Eddie. Martha and Fridge crashed theirs causing us to pick them up. Then we made it to a town. We walk into a building to see the guy with the stone around his neck. He is telling the story about a guy betrayed him and he is now feeding the guy to his hyenas. The lights go out and a woman, who turned out to be Spencer, stole the stone.

We escape from the gang and Spencer explains he was in a bad place and wanted to feel wanted again. He ended up being this woman instead of Smolder. He looks over at me.

“Who..Who is this?”

“This is my girlfriend, Y/N. She came in with us to save your ass. Her avatar is some badass woman named Elizabeth.” Fridge explains.

We split up to grab different things. Martha stayed to help Spencer and Miles get camels. Eddie guarded them, while Fridge and I followed the woman in red. We made it to a pool of water with a tree. Hanging in the tree is a seed that we would end up needing. In the water looks like there are electric eels.

“How the hell are we going to get that seed. It’s not like we can-” Fridge starts.

I walk over to the wall and jump up high to grab a light. I swing around, letting go to grab another light. I climb up to jump onto a tree branch. I swing and jump for the seed in the tree, causing me to fall into the water.

“Y/N!” Fridge yells loudly walking toward the water.

I resurface and hold up the seed. I swim over to the edge. Fridge puts a foot into the water, seeing its safe before grabbing my hand helping me out.

“I got ya babe. I got ya. That was badass!”

I laugh as I climb out and hold his hand a little too long. We are thrown away from each other, landing on the ground.

“Ow! Shit! That hurt!” I say sitting up.

I look over at Fridge to see my Elizabeth avatar.

“Fridge?” I whisper.

He looks up and his eyes widen.

“Y/N?” He looks down at his body then smiles. “Thank god! I was tired of that guy! He can't do anything.”

“Fridge switch back!”

“I’m sorry babe but I like this character!” He stands up.

“Don’t you dare touch my boobs!” I say quickly, standing up.

“Sorry sweetheart but that was the first thing I did! I wanna try that flippy stuff you did!”

He runs over to the same light I started at. He flips almost like I did but less as expertly. He jumps into the tree but he flips too fast and flies into the sky.

“Fridge!”

He lands into the water and resurfaces.

“That was so awesome!”

I shake my head and walks over to take his hand. I help him out and as soon as he stands out of the water, we are thrown away from each other again. We switched back.

“Yeah!” I cheer to myself, seeing I’m Elizabeth again.

“That’s not fair!”

“You didn’t use her right anyway! Come on, lets go find everyone.” I grab his hand and pull him out toward the others.

We get on some camels and I look out into the desert.

“Umm...guys. I can’t get too warm out there.” I say, looking back at them.

“Here dear. Use my hat.” Miles says, taking off his hat. “This should help a little bit.”

“Oh...thank you Mr. Walker.” I say, taking the hat.

I put it on my head and climb on to my camel.

“He said you’re very light and he likes you.” Miles says, telling me what the camel is thinking.

“Awe thank you Frankie.” I say, petting him.

We all venture into the desert. Fridge walking beside me with Spencer and Martha in front of us. Miles and Eddie are last in line. During this adventure we find out that Miles was the one that wanted to close down the restaurant and Eddie didn’t, that’s why they weren’t friends anymore. They had a little fight and Miles climbs off his camel to confront Eddie. We all stop our camels and I wave my face to keep from getting too hot but it isn't working.

The wind starts to pick up a little in the desert causing me to lose the hat Miles let me borrow. It flies back hitting him in the face. My eyes widen and I look right at Fridge. He notices the sweat sliding down my face. He turns back toward Miles.

“Mr. Walker! Throw me-”

Before he can finish, my body explodes. A loud ding happens and I start falling from the sky. I land on my feet near the camel and I look around.

“Y/N!” Fridge says, running over.

He pulls me into his arms. I hold him close.

“Let’s get you out of the sun. We can't have that happen again!”

That’s exactly what we did. We rode the camels to a jungle area. The Camels wouldn't take us any further so I kiss my camels head and follow everyone else. We get the next level which is a bunch of wooden bridges. Fridge realizes that this means is the Geometry part of his strength. What happened next shocked us all.

Mandrill monkeys start popping out of the trees. We’re jumping from one bridge to another but we all get separated. I jump toward Fridge and land on his bridge but the other side of the bridge snaps. I quickly grab his hand to keep him from falling. I pull him up onto the side of the bridge I’m on.

“I’m supposed to be the one saving you.” Fridge says.

I giggle slightly but we hurry away. Miles almost fell off as well but Eddie saved him. We all get away. A man on a horse runs up to us.

“Alex?” Martha asks the man.

“Hey guys!” He says.

“What are you doing here? Where Bethany?” Fridge asks.

“Right here.” He pets the horse. “the horse is name is Cyclone.”

“The horse is a character in the game too?” Spencer asks.

“Yep!”

“Wait...Alex Vreek?” I ask, just making sure.

“Yeah, have we met?” He asks.

“Uncle Alex. It’s me, Y/N.” I say smiling.

“Y/N! What are you doing here?” He says, walking over giving me a hug.

“I’m dating Fridge. I came to help Spencer.” I answer him.

“Wait...Fridge?” He turns toward Fridge.

Fridge waves slightly, “Hey.”

Alex walks over to Fridge and stares at him.

“You better take good care of my niece.” Alex says, staring him down.

“I will Alex. I love her too much.” Fridge says, watching Alex.

My eyes widen slightly. That was the first time that he has ever said that. Before we can finish this conversation, Martha shows us a pool of water that looks just like the water that the tree was in. Fridge smiles at me before telling everyone what the water does.

Bethany, Spencer, Eddie, Fridge, Miles and Fridge all jump into the water, leaving me, Martha and Uncle Alex. We run to the bottom of the hit to see them when they come out. They all get their original bodies back, leaving Eddie to get into the body Spencer had. Miles had gotten the body of Cyclone the horse.

Fridge walks over to me and smiles.

“I’m back baby!”

I laugh slightly and hug him, not caring that he’s all wet.

“I’d rather be hugging you as Finbar than you as Shelley.” I whisper to him.

He smiles widely and pulls back slightly from the hug. He looks down at me, it’s only a little since he’s only an inch taller than me, before pulling me into a kiss. A spark shoots through us, causing everyone around us to fly back. We pull away quickly, turning to look at them.

“Woah...” Fridge says.

Martha stands up, “Now that’s why her strength is Finbar.”

“That’s so awesome!” Spencer says, chuckling.

FAST FORWARD- Don’t wanna spoil it for anyone

We all end up in Spencer’s basement where we started the game. I look around the room, seeing who all landed here with us. Before I can move, I get pull to a body and I look up. Fridge smiles down at me before pulling me in for another kiss. I smile into the kiss and pulls him closer. We pull away after a few seconds and he looks into my eyes.

“I meant what I said...” He whispers.

I look confused, “What do you mean?”

“When I said I love you. I meant it. I really do, Y/N.” He whispers again.

I blush and smile up at him.

“I love you too Anthony.” I whisper, pulling him down for another kiss.

“Hey! Be careful! Last time you did that we all got hurt!” Alex says, catching our attention.

Everyone in the room laughs, including Eddie. I giggle and walk over to Alex and gives him a hug.

“I missed you too Uncle Alex.”

He chuckles and hugs me back, “You gotta bring Fridge around to meet everyone.”

“I will be sure to do that.” I whisper, before pulling away.

“Come on. I’m hungry.” Fridge says.

We all laugh and I take his hand and we walk upstairs. Today has been a very eventful day. I’m glad I got to experience it with Fridge and his friends.

“Beth! Beth! Look at this!” You beamed at your girlfriend when she turned your way. The two of you were coming back from your volunteer work in South America and had a layover in Florida. Beth had decided to spend that time shopping for presents for your friends.

It was here that you found the perfect gift for Fridge.

“Why?” Beth sounded amused which meant she agreed with your thoughts.

“This is perfect for Fridge!”

“You’re gonna give him a heart attack,” she finally reached out to check over the backpack that you had found hiding on the bottom shelf.

“Well he was insisting that he’s the backpack man. So! He needs a backpack and look! It looks just like the one he was so proud of!”

You continued to beam at Beth as she slowly started to smile. You knew there was a reason you got along so well.

“He was really proud of that, wasn’t he?”

Beth finally shook her head and leaned in to give you a kiss, “it’s perfect.”

[Name] and Alex were always grateful for Bethany, Spencer, Fridge, and Martha coming into their lives. The two had been stuck inside Jumanji for years, both on their last life and too afraid of venturing forward in case of the worst happening. After escaping, the two always made sure to let the four know that they could come to their home for any reason. That’s why neither one of them was surprised when Bethany showed up on their doorsteps. But what they were surprised about was the anxious expression on her face.

“Bethany, what’s wrong?” [Name] asked, ushering the girl in and leading her to the living room while also calling Alex.

As the three sat down, the two adults listened as Bethany talked frantically. “We haven’t heard from him in days and when we went to check on him, we found the game. We think he went back in but the game didn’t take me when we touched it. I know you two were stuck in the game for years but I need your help going back in. You two know Jumanji better than me. It’s a lot to ask but please.”

Writers Block - Alex Wolff x Reader

Also, just a disclaimer: This story briefly mentions smoking, but I do not advise or encourage this behaviour! Thanks all x

Reader's P.O.V:

"Alex," I call as I walk through the front door, arms carrying bags of groceries and takeaway for dinner.

I don't hear his foot steps coming down the hall way, rushing to come and help me like every other time. This time, the sound of piano and muffled, frustrated cursing comes from his studio room.

I unload the food onto the kitchen bench, and make my way to his studio quietly. I pause, waiting on the other side of the door, listening.

"Goddamn it!" I hear him exclaim, followed by the sound of his hands hitting the piano keys hopelessly.

Alright. Time to intervene. I open the door quietly, revealing a disheveled, frustrated looking Alex sat at his piano with his head in his hands.

The creak of the door grabs his attention and he looks up in shock, before sighing when he realises it's just me.

"Sorry" I apologise for interrupting, making my way over to him "writers block?"

"No it's okay," he insists "I'm glad you did, any longer and I think this piano might have gone flying out the window" he adds in an attempt to joke, but he runs a hand through his hair anxiously.

He pats his lap, signalling for me to sit. I drape an arm around his neck as he wraps an arm around my waist and pulls me down onto his lap.

"Hey you" he coos, loud enough for only me to hear, our faces inches away from each other.

"Hey you" I reply; our little saying.

"When do they want it by?" I ask, wondering when the record label expects him to have the song done by.

"Saturday" he groans as he hangs his head forward, his forehead resting against my collarbone.

"Thats-"

"Yep, tomorrow" he cuts me off, standing up suddenly. I hop of his lap, sitting back down on the piano chair.

He grabs a packet of cigarettes and lights one before walking over to the window, opening the curtains and cracking the glass screen open for some fresh air. It's dark out now, the street lights illuminating his face as he takes a long drag of a cigarette.

He stands at the window pane, watching as the traffic of the city below whisks by, trying to draw some kind of inspiration or maybe even find a distraction.

He rarely ever smokes. He only has one packet that he calls his "emergency supply". Last time I saw him smoke one was two years ago the night before his first day on the Jumanji set.

I meet him at the window pane, resting my back against it so that I can face him.

"You shouldn't smoke you know" I tell him as I take the cigarette from in between his lips, smirking playfully as I proceed to take a drag "They're bad for you"

He shakes his head, simultaneously trying but failing to bite back the grin growing on his lips.

I blow out the smoke, then walk away, putting out the cigarette and throwing it in the bin.

I sit back down at the piano, and look over to see him coming to sit beside me.

"Play me something. I promise I won't laugh if it's bad" I smile at him, and he smiles back down at me.

"Wow you're too kind" he replies playfully.

His long slender hands dance across the piano keys, playing bits and pieces, chopping and changing from one song to another, all jumbled together in a big mess of notes.

Until he plays one particular part.

"See," he stops playing, exasperated and defeated as he slaps his hands down on his thighs "I got nothing. It all sounds like shit-"

"Play that last bit again" I cut him off, trying to think.

"What?"

"Play that last bit again, those notes you played at the very end"

He watches me in confusion then obliges, playing the last progression of notes.

"There," he shakes his head "I don't get-"

"Now play those, then the first part after them"

"Okay" he sighs, "But it's not going to work y/n-"

"Alex" I look at him "Just play them"

And again, he plays the last notes, but follows them up with something he played at the very beginning. As the notes start to come together, they begin to sound like an actual song. I look over at Alex to see his eyes light up as he realises that its all starting to piece together.

"Jesus" is all he say's when he's done playing them.

"That was... really good Alex" I grin as he turns to me.

He stares at me in amazement, shaking his head in disbelief.

"Where the hell did you come from," he begins, a huge smile tugging at the corner of his lips "and how the hell did I get so lucky?"

"What can I say?" I shrug, teasing him "I'm just a genius"

"God I love you" He bites his lip with a smile as he pulls me closer to him, our lips smiling against each others as he kisses me.

If they make another Jumanji movie, here's what they should do:

1) Based on the tease at the end of ‘The Next Level’ they should continue the idea of having stuff coming out of the video game, only instead of it being like in the original Robin Williams movie where that’s just part of the game, in this that’s the whole movie. Like Jumanji is coming out of the game and the kids have to stop it.

2) Among the things that come out of the game are the characters of the game, so we get to see what Smolder Bravestone, Mouse Finbar, Ruby Roundhouse and Dr. Sheldon Oberon are really like when they’re not being inhabited by people from the real world. There could be some interesting ideas to explore with this, like Bravestone could have a lot of deep-seated insecurities and fears and puts on a brave front for other people to cover up for them. Maybe Mouse is constantly being put down by the others and resents them for it. There’s a lot you could do with these characters.

3) With that, imagine the kids having to interact with the avatars and maybe realizing that they’re not perfect. And they all learn from each other as they work to stop the game from taking over the world. Maybe Alex, who is rife with insecurity but has learned over the last two movies how to be confident in spite of them, teaches Bravestone to embrace his fears and that being recklessly brave all the time is not a good way to live life.

4) I don’t know if it’s really necessary, but it would be cool to maybe explore the origins of the game as a whole. Where did the game come from, how does it have so much power and, apparently, a mind of its own. What is its purpose and, most importantly, can it ever truly be destroyed?

5) With Bebe Neuwirth seemingly reprising her role from the original movie (It’s never explicitly confirmed that its the same character, but in both she plays a woman named Nora, and this is a sequel to the original so I can only assume that its the same person), maybe other actors from the original movie could return as well, even for cameos. Bonnie Hunt returning as Sarah would be a good addition, especially since she's the only one who remembers the game from the original movie (this would work really well if you’re going to delve into the origins of the game and could serve as a way to pay tribute to Robin Williams/Alan Parrish). Maybe Kirsten Dunst and Bradley Pierce as Judy and Peter and/or David Allen Grier reprising the role of Carl.

6) If they don’t subtitle it ‘Game Over’ then it’s an automatic fail.

‘Red One’: Chris Evans To Star Opposite Dwayne Johnson In Amazon’s Holiday Action-Comedy From Director Jake Kasdan

Chris Evans (Avengers franchise, Defending Jacob) is set to star opposite Dwayne Johnson in an upcoming holiday event film from Amazon Studios, which is currently titled Red One.

The film, which aims to shoot this year, is a globe-trotting, four-quadrant action-adventure comedy, imagining a whole new universe to explore within the holiday genre. Specifics with regard to its plot are being kept under wraps.

The project stems from an original story by Seven Bucks Productions’ President of Production Hiram Garcia, which Amazon Studios landed after a highly competitive bidding war last year. Jake Kasdan (Jumanji franchise) is directing from a screenplay by Seven Bucks Productions’ frequent collaborator Chris Morgan, who previously worked with them on such titles as Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs and Shaw, The Fate of the Furious, Furious 7, Fast & Furious 6 and Fast Five.

Kasdan is producing through his production company The Detective Agency, alongside Melvin Mar and co-producer Sky Salem Robinson, with Morgan for Chris Morgan Productions, and Johnson, Hiram Garcia and Dany Garcia for Seven Bucks Productions.

Johnson announced his involvement with the title, slated for a 2023 holiday release, back in June. It reunites him with Kasdan and his collaborators at Seven Bucks on the heels of their blockbuster successes with Sony’s Jumanji films Welcome to the Jungle (2017) and The Next Level (2019), which have collectively grossed $1.7 billion worldwide. While Johnson and Evans both appeared in Shawn Levy’s 2021 comedy Free Guy for Disney, Red One is the first film that the pair will topline together.

Evans also recently appeared in Adam McKay’s end-of-the-world comedy Don’t Look Up for Netflix, and in Mark Bomback’s Apple TV+ series Defending Jacob, which saw him portraying an assistant DA whose world was shattered, when his beloved son was charged with murder. Additional film credits include Knives Out, The Red Sea Diving Resort, Gifted, Before We Go, Snowpiercer, The Iceman, Scott Pilgrim vs. the World, Street Kings, The Nanny Diaries, Sunshine, Fantastic Four and Fantastic 4: Rise of the Silver Surfer.

so i have a brief backstory for jonas’s player but i dont have a name or even a gender for them so here we go;

-they were very much the ‘bad kid’ in the real world, constantly getting into trouble, running afoul of teachers, playing pranks etc.

-that was until they stumbled upon the jumanji game in the basement, and got sucked in. they didnt get a chance to pick their avatar (kinda like the rest of the gang in the next level) and landed in the body of jonas fontaine, tracker and weapons expert

-they meet the team in the bazaar, i think during the snake shack sequence, and they kind of have the opposite issue to alex -- they believe they’ve been stuck in the game for YEARS instead of for just a couple months

-they start flirting with betty to pass the time, much to her awkwardness esp considering neither party has any idea if they’re older than her or not - however later the gang puts two and two together

-also i imagine that they didnt have many friends in the real world and were a bit of a lone wolf, however jonas requires a team, which is why they got stuck on the snake shack -- they have 2 lives by the time the gang meets them

the antique door closes exactly at 11:59 p.m, the owner believing that teenagers will find themselves entering the store for ancient artifacts that might pair nicely with an ouija board, like a glass of wine pairing with a sliver of cheese. a board game hovers, nearly teetering off the edge, a possibility that ends in fifty-fifty. the old man grumbles quietly, the lights dimmed as he pushes himself through, finger running along the shelves and picking up dust. an antique shop without dust isn’t an antique shop in his opinion. the dust gives it a voice. he moves slowly, careful not to trip over the floorboards that creak beneath his weight. he knows where every divot is, where everything that might trip him, except for the cane that a pair of teenagers dropped once they ran out of the shop laughing about the ‘haunted’ doll that they bought and were willing to hide in a friend's closet. his footing catches, he stumbles forwards, and the hand reaches out, pushing the board game to topple to the floor with the pieces falling. he doesn’t realize until it’s too late, of what had happened. an ancient myth comes to life as a rumble shakes the city at 12:00 a.m. exactly.

it happens overnight. there’s a rumble, commotion being raised as citizens feel the earth shake between their toes, but the moment they blink, everything has quieted. it’s not new, strange things happen all the time here, but it’s different. strange things aren't new when it comes to washington, d.c.; but this time there’s a moment of brief fear, a moment of foreshadowing whispering that it only grows worse..

citizens wait through their moment of paranoia but nothing follows, so sleep takes hold again, washing over all the citizens as if they hadn’t heard anything. it’s not until 3:00 a.m. until unrest stirs. families, friends, couples, find themselves whisked away in different sections of the city. they don’t know how they got there, or why. just one second they were in their beds, the next they find themselves… elsewhere. commotion rises, when something new occurs, something that isn’t understood, panic always rises.

unknowingly, the residents of the city have become pawns in the city. it would have been better if they could stay with those they love, but each section of the city brings them somewhere else. it starts off easy for some, a windstorm that they have to avoid or brave with the risks of the powerful gusts sweeping away memories; the first level. fears come to life, citizens are left to their own imagination as they see their form take shape and form, claws scratching and terrors haunting each and everyone, the second level. there are rumors in the city, that there’s something off in the city. people have always said that the city water can’t be trusted, but slowly, they turn out to be right. powered beings sinking lower and lower, losing their humanity and grip on their world, and darkness peeking through if it overcomes them - the third level.

for some, they might find themselves lucky. through the windstorms, the fear, and the supernatural - some might find themselves surrounded by growing trees and exotic flowers, but no danger in sight. it’s a breath of fresh air, a moment of peace for those who manage to bypass the levels. it’s a break and a reward, where calmness is installed

if you manage to make it through all three levels, you will find yourself in a tropical jungle. it’s not home, but it’s safe enough, a reward for fighting your way through the game. there you will remain until the game is finished, able to get a moment of peace among the chaos. it’s a victory, a shout in the dark, a knowledge in knowing that even in the darkest of times - survival is possible.

welcome to jumanji, try your hardest to survive - if you can.

-- washington is divided, three levels for the people of dc to fight their way through to survive. but this isn’t unfamiliar territory, it’s things they’ve seen before. a windstorm, citizens rushing to escape swirling whorls of magic that can rip their memories away or return them just as easily. a monster who shows you your worst fears, manifesting them into reality, and setting them on you. and something in the water turning any powered being into a cold, bloodthirsty beast, the darkest parts of them shining through. you can’t escape, but you can watch what happens in the levels adjacent to yours through the barriers between them, unable to keep your loved ones from what’s to come. it’s a gamble where citizens end up, and they can level up at any time. welcome to the jungle.

hey hi hello friends, and welcome to hidden’s tenth event! yes, that’s right, ten !! we are beyond blessed to be able to bring you guys something so monumental, and to have been here with you all for so many amazingly successful events we decided to pay homage to some of our favorite ones over the past two and a half years, with a bit of a twist! 2020 has been almost scarily similar to jumanji, so why not play into the strengths of this year and get a little wild for the next few days? we cannot wait to see what you all bring to this event, as we’ve been working on it for weeks now. please let us know if you have any questions as you digest the rules of our game! and best of luck surviving the trials set out before you!

this event will last 9 14 days in and out of character !

LEVEL LOCATIONS :

your characters’ location has been chosen randomly, and we are able to move characters around only if you have too many of your babes in one location.

this list will be updated with each new character who gets added so keep an eye on that list to find out where your new babe is located

CHARACTER LEVELING UP :

each character will begin on the level they have been assigned. they are able to level up, a different way on each level, to move to a new level and face a new set of trials.

the leveling up will be randomized. it does not go in numerical order. once your character has made it through and completed a level, please message the main and we will roll the dice for your new location.

once your character has made it through all three levels (they do not have to actually complete the game, it’s totally up to you!) they will be transported to the safe zone.

the way to level up in character will be described below, but out of character you must play through each level for at least 2 days, so that people are not changing levels too quickly and they have enough time to play out plots.

general level rules

the barriers between the levels are see through. so you may not be able to talk to your loved ones, but you can see them, you can know what your family is going through. an incentive to level up.

cellphone service will work between the barriers. but we do ask that you do not make all of your interactions with people over texts or calls or we will be limiting this service throughout the event.

level 1 - the windstorm

characters can’t die on this level, but they can have their memories be tampered with! be it changing from aware to unaware (or vise versa) or taking some memories from them or giving some back!

to level up, you need to find hidden doors in the barrier, that will then take you to one of the other two levels!

level 2 - nightmares come to life

remember to use a read more and tag anything with triggering content!

the way your characters can level up from this event is to defeat their nightmares, this can either be conquering their fears, defeating whatever is shown to them, or facing their nightmares for an extended period of time.

just be careful, these fears can have real life consequences.

level 3 - something’s in the water

all powered humans and non human creatures will be affected by the poison, becoming ruthless, emotionless monsters. for some, it takes slower to be fully affected, but within 24 hours, there’s nothing to fight.

humans will need to run or fight off the poisoned creatures hunting them down, or die trying

the effect of the poison is not invisible to people. the affected creatures have their pupils showing hints of red, and veins becoming darker on their wrists. the creatures that do not yet show signs of the poison will however have these physical traits slowly appearing.

your characters can kill off any npcs they wish while affected, but be sure to plot out the deaths of any taken characters within the group!

to level up, the humans must defeat one of the attacking supernaturals, and the supernaturals must overcome the poison that’s corrupted them. this is a long process, that can only be achieved through two days of fighting it off

level 4 - the safe zone

this final level is a reward for anyone who gets through all three levels

here your characters are able to relax, to recuperate and search for those your characters have been separated from over the past few days.

it’s a moment where they’re finally able to hug those they love, hold them close, and realize that they made it through the worst and survived.

they are able to stay on this level throughout the rest of the event, but once they’ve made it to level four, they cannot return to the game.

CHARACTER DEATHS :

we are going to be limiting the number of character deaths per mun, that way we can keep track of the updates on the main and make sure that people are branching out with different plots beyond death!

the limit will be if you have 5 and under characters, you are limited to 2 characters. if you have 5 or over, you are able to kill 3-4 characters!

you absolutely don’t have to kill anyone if you don’t wish to, it’s just an extra level of intensity if that’s something you’d be looking to do!

if you do plan to kill anyone, please remember to message the main, that way we are able to update the memories statuses of your characters post event!

feel free to begin plotting now!

once the event begins, please hold any and all non event threads. you may pick them up once it’s over, or start fresh with your characters after coping with the aftermath of a trialing time.

please tag all interactions/starters/self-paras with hwevent10 !!

please make sure that you tag all interactions with which level your character is currently in, that way people are not responding to threads outside their levels! you can use anything from ‘level one’ or ‘the windstorm’!

keep an eye on the main for any more information regarding the event, including after it’s begun!

please remember the event is mandatory for members!

please remember that you are free to take this event in any way you wish, you can have your characters stay on one level the entire time, they can conquer multiple or get stuck, they can complete the game and relax, or spend their time helping those around them! it’s up to you about how well your characters adjust to these new trials they are faced with.
