Do you have any advice or links for non-binary authors choosing a pen name? I want something fairly gender neutral. I don’t know where to start and I’m also worried about readers finding out my birth name (like they did a few authors) and insisting on using that before I have time to figure out what name I want to use in my private life and go through the paperwork to change it.
The following turned into an incredibly long way to say:
tl/dr - make lists of cute names and try them on for size?
The long version:
OK So I just want to be very clear - you say you are asking about a pen name. But then you talk about "paperwork to change your name." So ... are you looking for a new name that will function as your Pen Name Only -- and then you will have a different new name in your day-to-day life? In other words, you want two new names at the end of the day?
Or are you looking for a new name, that will be the name in your day-to-day life, and also the name you write under? (I'm not trying to nag you about your wording or anything, I just don't want to give you wrong advice!)
First of all - regardless of the answers to the above - I think you probably choose a name based on... whatever names you like, right? Like, how do you name ANYthing? How do you name your characters, or your pets? Do you want to change your surname also? Do you want it to be LIKE your original name, or totally different?
Me, I'd personally do it by making lists of my fave names (including words from the natural world, and place names, if they sound "namey" - ask your friends and in name books or online for more ideas, and look them up to see if they have special meaning that might resonate with you or be indicative of your life or your culture - try them on for size - say them aloud and see what it sounds like coming out of your mouth. Weird? Uncomfortable? Or does it make you feel happy? See if one feels like it FITS YOU - making sure that it can have cute nicknames if you like that, or that people won't shorten it to something you hate - that it doesn't rhyme with anything lousy, or your initials don't spell something lousy (well, especially with a baby, I'd make sure of that - you don't want them to be teased on the playground lol). Same deal, make sure the whole thing SOUNDS GOOD when you say it out loud. Try signing it. It's YOUR NAME, so you have to be comfortable saying it, writing it, signing it, hearing it.
The other part of your question, is "pen name vs day-to-day name." Just know that yes, it IS POSSIBLE for people to find out what your original name was, in the era of internet super-sleuths, anything is possible. BUT -- for the most part, in publishing or anywhere else, people should call you the name you want to be called, regardless of whether or not you legally change it. For your agency and publisher, we will call you the name you wish to be called. You will need to tell us whatever your legal name is (aka the name that your bank account is under, and that you pay taxes under) for your contracts, and if you want to get paid - so IF it is very important to you that THAT name not be your ORIGINAL name, in other words, we are scouring the earth of any sign of your original name, yes, probably a good idea to legally change it? That is a bit of a PITA though, and it might be easier, if you are not changing your surname also, to just tell the bank or whomever that you also go by [nickname/middle name/initials/whatnot], they will probs be fine with that, so then you can get paid in that almost-your-name. Like for example - say I have a client named Alice Kaitlyn Smythe - but she always goes by Kate Smythe, and her bank knows this - - we make checks out to Kate Smythe.
ANYWAY POINT BEING: Whatever you decide with your original name - your pen-name is sort of a different thing. If you want to keep your original name (or some variation, as in Kate Smythe's example) as your day-to-day name, and you are ONLY choosing a pen-name - there is no need to do any paperwork whatsoever. You just tell your agent/publisher the name you want to publish under. Lots of people have pen-names that you would never have any idea, for any number of reasons, ranging from privacy concerns, to the name just "sounding better", or it's their maiden name but they changed in day-to-day life to their married name, or they just don't like the spelling of their name, to literally anything in between. It's truly not a big deal to have a pen name -- Some people have MULTIPLE pen names! In fact I'd go so far as to say that many or MOST authors style their name somewhat differently on books than what people call them in real life, or what is officially on their birth certificate.
Also, if you have cute gender neutral name ideas for this non-binary anonymous, share them in the comments! I'll start:
Skip, Kip, Fox, Tam, Ace, Lucky, Sky, West, Parker, River, August, Grey, Max, Ash, Andy, Dylan, Harper, Reed, Sage, Jordan, Drew, Blake, Noah, Quinn, Oak, Aspen

Bachelorette Bio Breakdown. Again.
I have said for like three years now I am done writing about this show, but the bios are just too damn fun to mock. So, here we are again. You’re welcome.
Brian
They’re claiming he loves math so much that he is a teacher at the high school he went to. What that translates to is that he loves math so much he still lives in his mothers basement. The same one from high school. His favorite holiday is “Flag Day” which isn’t a real thing.
Cam
He loves to be the “life of the party”, calls himself the “Dance Floor King”, can freestyle rap and play the harmonica. Basically what this means is that I will never attend a social event with Cam as he sounds like the actual death of the party.
Chasen
Is that a real name? Chasen loves watching “The Bachelor” while drinking cocktails with his mom and has re-gifted Tiffany’s to his sister. I think Chasen would have more luck chasin’ the heart of a dude.
Connor J.
He says his biggest turn-off is a girl who gossips, which inevitably means he will be the first to run to Hannah with gossip because the people who say they hate gossip are the biggest gossips of them all.
Connor S.
Connor S. LOVES (all caps in bio, definitely not by me) Justin Bieber and listening and dancing to Spanish music, although he doesn’t speak the language. What this means to me is that he blasts “Despacito” and fucks up all of the lyrics. He does kind of resemble Luke Cafferty though...
Daron
I feel like Daron was on FX’s “The People vs. OJ Simpson” and I just want to know what it was like to work with Sterling K. Brown.
Devin
Devin is a talent manager who is good friends with a former “Bachelorette” suitor... so, I’m going to say Devin is here for the wrong reasons. I’m also curious if his haircut is intentional in this photo. I hope not.
Dustin
I hope he put that he can beat anyone at Jenga so he can claim his pull-out game is strong because that’s my all time favorite pick-up line. Next to, “Nice shoes, wanna fuck?”
Dylan
It says he is the co-founder of a fitness company that allows people to workout while donating food and this makes no sense to me. He also claims the majority of his friends are women and I’m going to guess that’s because he has a boat.
Garrett
Garrett is from Alabama and the date he mentioned involves football, so they’re just going to make out and yell, “Roll Tide” until he goes home for thinking Georgia has more romantic cities than Alabama.
Grant
Grant is an actual asshole and quite proud of it. He has no interest in hearing about a workout or Instagram, so we’d totally get along. JK, he’d hate me. He also promises to call other men out this season who aren’t there for the right reasons. I see a two-on-one in his near future. See ya never.
Hunter
A pro surfer living in California, still with his parents, that loves the water and wants to start a creative agency. What an enigma.
Jed
How many singer/songwriters in Nashville do you think are named Jed? Jed is going to get out of the limo with his guitar and sing something stupid to Hannah. Calling it.
Joe
His job title is, “The Box King” and I truly hope it is for the reason I want it to be. Joe has been to Vegas (from Chicago) four times this year so the box king enjoys gambling, strip clubs and pool parties. Yep, it means what I want it to.
Joey
Honestly, I am shocked this guy isn’t a trainer. Look at him. Also he’s kind of old and boring to be on this show.
John Paul Jones
Don’t even have to read further, I hate him. Then I read further to learn he requires you use all three of his names when addressing him AND he “rarely uses words that are less than three syllables long” so I actually hate him. Also, who fucking knows that about themselves?
Jonathan
He claims he is the life of the party and we’ve already had another suitor claim that title, so, like -- life of the party-off? He also, “love sparklers” which seems like a weird thing to be passionate about.
Kevin
Kevin seems like the kind of guy that has had at least two restraining orders filed against him. He wants to travel more but won’t go anywhere there isn’t a gym. Umm, I’m fairly certain cities all over the world offer hotels with a fitness center on-site, Kevin.
Luke P.
This is definitely this seasons virgin. Maybe a “born again” virgin if that’s a real thing, but for sure a virgin of some sort. I feel like people who don’t have sex talk about sex more than people that do have sex. Relax.
Luke S.
Luke S. looks like the little kid in “Love Actually” who locks himself in his room because he is in love. He claims he looks like Nick Viall (he does not) and hit on Emily Ratajkowski, so he’s definitely not here for exposure.
Matt Donald
Why are these men using more than one name? Also I won’t be able to look at him without singing, “Old Matt Donald” to the tune of “Old McDonald”. He claims he’s already in love with Hannah despite having not met her. We all know what happened to Shawn B., so things aren’t looking great for Old Matt Donald.
Matteo
Um. "On the side” Matteo is a sperm donor with 114 children running around and I have so many questions. How does he know the number? How many times has he been intimate with himself and a cup? Why? When money is tight, don’t most people just ask their family for help? Is this normal? Is there a term for someone whose hobby is to donate sperm? WHAT IS HAPPENING HERE?
Matthew
If Matthew wasn’t 23, I’d drive down to Newport tonight to meet him. What a dreamboat.
Mike
Who was that guy on Kaitlyn’s season that was so arrogant and then he got down on his knee at MTA to apologize to all women? IAN! This is Ian reincarnate. Or rIANcarnate.
Peter
He lives his life by thinking that simply by expecting good things to happen to you, they will. If that’s the case I’m expecting to win the lottery tomorrow and be a millionaire by Friday.
Ryan
Ryan will be the first one this season to cry.
Scott
His bio is about as cliche as his name. He likes to day drink with his buddies, he acts like an asshole in public, he hits on waitresses when he’s drunk. If you’re looking for a “Scott” you can throw on a pair of short shorts and a cleavage-bearing tank top and head to your nearest rooftop bar. Scott will have a shot waiting for you. I promise.
Thomas
Thomas played basketball over seas which I think means he played professional JV basketball. His nickname is “Mr. Fourth Quarter” and that doesn’t sound like something a man should brag about.
Tyler C.
There’s a lot to take in from Tyler. He has his MBA, but is using it in Jupiter, Fla.; He was drafted by the Ravens but couldn’t play because of a shoulder injury; He’s been in a serious relationship but it didn’t work out and now he’s on The Bachelorette. Tyler is the “almost made it” guy. Maybe he should be called “Mr. Fourth Quarter”.
Tyler G.
Tyler G. loves SoulCycle so much that he wrote it in his bio. I love you, Tyler G. However, he later admits that he adheres to a strict Keto diet, so like, let’s hit up a class, but I refuse to do brunch after. Ya know?
Who do you think Hannah will choose? Also how many episodes until I am annoyed?

So, we talk a lot about Quarry headcanons and what could have been on the Brainrot Discord server that Kat made and one of the things I keep thinking about is how they gave (at least some of) the characters these sets of skills that never really impact gameplay, and I think it would be really cool if they did. Like, if there was more variety in who could be sent on which path. Switching Kaitlyn to the Hackett house path with Laura and Ryan to the scrapyard with Dylan being a popular one for fanfic, but also, idk, maybe Dylan won't let Ryan go without him so he ends up on the Hackett house path too? Maybe Abi steps up to go with Kaitlyn to the scrapyard and has to figure out the crane even though it's way out of her skillset, maybe Emma and Jacob can actually come back and link up with the rest of the gang instead of being stuck out in the woods for so long, stuff like that.
I'm just thinking about what their skills might be and how that might impact the game. Also keep in mind that if the character you most need for a task ends up up dead before that task comes along, it's going to be carnage for everyone else, which would up the replay value significantly IMO.
Kaitlyn: Shooting. She's a MUCH better shot than Ryan, if we can believe the Shooting Stars scoreboard (four of the actual children attending the camp score higher than him), but we never see that in the game? What if the aiming mechanism was actually different between different characters? What if there were shots you could make more easily as Kaitlyn, that were harder to pull off as Ryan?
Ryan: Agility. Guy does a lot of running and jumping, what if there were timed segments that were easier to complete as Ryan within the allotted time, or else something consequential happened? Good luck if you ended up plodding along with Jacob instead, now Abi and Nick are both mauled and turning, or something like that.
Dylan: Tech. Dylan's the physics nerd who slays at the crane game. What if you could bring him to the Hackett house and he could figure out the electric circuit puzzle in no time, but that meant someone else had to help Kaitlyn in the scrapyard? Maybe Ryan can still save Jacob without him but he takes too much time and the Hacketts catch you and pick off one of your party.
Jacob: Strength. Jakey's probably the buffest of the dudes, so maybe there are times you need a pair of strong arms or legs and Jacob's the only one who can come through. They also show us him picking locks but he never does that in an impactful situation, so maybe he'd have a lesser talent for that as well.
Abi: Stealth. Okay, so Abi runs and hides? Maybe she's awesome at hiding, then? Maybe she can get through parts of the game undiscovered by the werewolves that other characters can't. Maybe her being short AF means she can fit into hiding spots that you can't cram the leggy bois like Dylan and Nick into.
Emma: Observation. Emma's always watching and analyzing everyone's behavior and documenting things on her phone. Maybe she can find evidence or tarot cards others can't, or put pieces of the mystery together in ways no one else thinks of. Emma's a badass in the game, but it would be cool to see her 'documentarian' side come in handy prior to the credits rolling, too.
Nick: Climbing. I completely made this up because we don't get to see Nick do much besides try to pull his crush, suck face on a dare with Emma, and get mauled, but we do know he takes kids through the ropes course based on his dialogue with Abi, plus he's tall so he's got long arms and legs! Maybe he's the aerial expert. Maybe he can scale fences and get important items down from trees. Maybe he can climb up and free other characters who get stuck in those snare traps. (Obviously this assumes someone else can be the Designated Werewolf Victim, which I also think would improve the game.)
This also assumes Laura and Max keep their current roles, but I'd be up for that to be changeable too. It's not that I necessarily want a higher number of choices available, I just want the choices we can make to actually impact the gameplay and story arc more! Anyway, that's my Quarry ramble for the day (unless I come up with another one). Anyone else have thoughts?

while Dylan and Kaitlyn are going to the junkyard they have a conversation where Dylan can seem 'depressed' or 'positive' but the thing is i've never seen his dialogue being negative 😭 all the gameplay videos i've seen i i saw everyone chose to be 'positive'. could you by any chance show me what happens when he chooses his dialogue as being a bit 'depressed' ?
youtube
Sure thing! Chris of the Vale on YouTube painstakingly compiled a lot of the game choices, here’s a video with all the variations on their chat. It should go straight to the ‘depressed’ choice if the link works correctly.
I usually pick depressed, not because I want Dylan to be depressed (although, I feel like you would be a little, right?) but because I love Kaitlyn’s response. 💖

Excuse me where is the high quality gif set of this interaction? I am dying of the cuteness. I think I’ve always picked ‘run’ here for some reason.
Also another dialogue echo of Jacob saying “skill!” when he climbs in the window. When this game is on point it is SO on point.

Been a minute since I posted a WIP preview, so, here, have one from Ch 6 of Particles & Waves which I swear I am still writing and should hopefully be out in a week or two
—————
Kaitlyn was running. Dylan was dead and all Kaitlyn could do about it was keep on running, those last helpless screams of his echoing in her ears. She felt as if she’d never be safe, never be able to stop running again. She knew the beast that killed Dylan would be mere paces behind her, and it wouldn’t be satisfied just from eating her friend. They were never satisfied. Their lust for blood went far beyond a simple animalistic hunger; it was a bottomless craving for annihilation and Kaitlyn fucking refused to become that thing’s next snack.
As she jogged, alone and nauseous through the moonlit forest, something made her change course. It wasn’t on the way to the relative safety of the lodge, but she felt an intense pull to check the bushes near the fire pit. And Kaitlyn rarely second-guessed her own intuition. She passed the remains of the bonfire where Dylan and Ryan had shared their first and only kiss, where Emma had set off the drama bomb that had detonated their night (though, to be fair, it had been Kaitlyn herself who handed her the lighter, showed her where to find the fuse), and where Ryan had dragged Nick back, bleeding and disoriented, after he was attacked. The logs were empty, the last remaining embers of the fire still smoking faintly, and she wasn’t sure how many of the people who had sat there hours before would ever make it home.
And then she saw it. There was a body lying in the underbrush. When she was near enough to take in its shape in the moonlight, Kaitlyn’s battered heart took another tumble into her gut. The face was bloody and distorted, pitted with buckshot, the mouth open in something between a frozen scream and a ghoulish smile, but still she would have known it anywhere. Kaitlyn knew the muscular body, shining with early morning dew. She’d watched him grow into it from just a small boy.
“Jacob! Jake? Oh, no. No no no no, come on, Jake, don’t do this to me.”
She knew he was dead from a few yards away but she couldn’t believe it. Kaitlyn had to see him up close, had to feel the cold stillness of his body beneath her hands to accept that the boy she’d known for over half her life was truly gone.
She knelt next to Jacob’s head and lifted it into her lap. It was gross and gory and Kaitlyn didn’t care. Because it was Jacob, she didn’t hesitate to do it. She gently brushed his bloodied hair back from his face.
“I’m sorry,” she said softly, eyes brimming with tears, “I’m so sorry, Jake. I could have stopped this so many different ways, but I didn’t. I should have taken that gun away from Ryan. I should have told him not to shoot blindly into the bushes at night. God, who even does that anyway? I should have shouted to you, why wouldn’t you say something when we called out? I should never have told you how to sabotage the van. I should have told you to fuck off, I don’t even know why I didn’t. I told you to fuck off often enough, it should have been close to second nature. I’m sorry I wasn’t meaner to you for your own good. I’m so sorry, Jacob.”
Kaitlyn cradled his head in her arms and sobbed openly. For Jacob, for Dylan, for everyone else who would miss them, including her, and for the lonely little life she’d have to try to build without them. She cried until she felt a presence beside her, a hand landed on her shoulder, and she heard an unmistakeable soft voice rasping out her name.
“Kaitlyn, hey. It’s okay. It’s all gonna be okay.”
She shook her head without even turning to look at him. “How can you say that? How could anything ever be okay again, Dylan? Jacob’s dead. You’re dead. You shouldn’t even be here.”
Dylan dropped into a cross-legged sitting position beside Kaitlyn, wrapping one long arm around her, drawing her in. She looked up at him then, this specter of her dead friend, and he looked just like he had at the bonfire, his clothes spotless, his hair meticulously coiffed to look effortlessly messy.
“Have you ever known me to do what I should be doing, really?” She laughed a little at this, relaxing into his embrace, and Dylan laughed too.
“I guess not,” she admitted, “you never were one for following rules.”
“Nope, sure wasn’t. And, uh, you do know Jacob’s not actually dead, right? Your subconscious is just being a dick to you, K.”
She hadn’t known, but as soon as Dylan said it, she knew it was true. It was only then that it struck her she was dreaming. It was like her dream-self had gained access to her memories and she realized what she’d already known. Jacob was fine. She’d seen him, sobbing, at the police station, then unusually silent at a couple of social outings they’d attempted before he’d gone quiet on her, preferring to marinate in his own guilt and misery alone.
“Right,” Kaitlyn said slowly, “Jacob’s not really dead. But you are.”
“Yup,” Dylan nodded his agreement, “which is kinda funny, right? I mean, I tried pretty hard to be careful and I ended up dead. Meanwhile, this fuckin’ goober prances around in his undies all night, plays tug-o-war with a loaded shotgun, moonwalks through a field of bear traps, and still makes it out mostly unscathed.” He gave a signature eye-roll. “Straight people.”
Kaitlyn wasn’t sure what Jacob’s sexuality had to do with his survival, but she decided not to challenge Dylan about it.
“His ankle ended up pretty fucked, but you’re right, could have been a lot worse.”
“Doesn’t matter,” Dylan said, “what does matter is that I still need you, Kaitlyn.”
“Is this about the eulogy? Because I’m working on it! It’s kind of hard to sum you up in five minutes or less.”
“I’m flattered, but, no. I’m sure the eulogy’ll be fine. But I do need your help.”
“How can I possibly help you, Dylan? You’re dead.”
“Alright, sure,” he drawled, smiling, “but, am I gone? That’s the important question, no?”
“I don’t know, is this some kind of riddle? Or are you about to hit me with some of that ‘I live on forever in your heart’ type bullshit? Because that’s all well and good but I’d really rather have you, you know, around.”
“Ew, no, come on! You know I’m not about that schmaltzy nonsense. I’m literally still around. I need you to look for me. I need you to hear me. Sometimes I can see you trying but it’s like I’m just out of reach. You’ve gotta find me, Kaitlyn. I promise, I’m still there to find, something deep inside you knows it. Otherwise why would your subconscious conjure me up like this?”
“Because I miss you? I don’t know. Could just be doing it because my subconscious is a dick. Like with Jacob. You said it yourself.” She looked down expecting to see the bloodied mess of Jacob’s face in her lap, but his body was gone and so were the bloodstains he’d left on her hands and among the foliage.
“Okay, yeah, true. But I don’t think it’s that. You think you’ve failed me, Kaitlyn, but you haven’t. Not once, never. I’ve always been able to count on you. Open that third ear for me.”
“Third… ear?” she scoffed, “d’you mean third eye? I’m pretty sure that’s what you use to see spirits, buddy.”
“No! I don’t mean third eye! Jesus Kaitlyn, it’s an audio metaphor, okay?! Just let me have this! I’ve been dead for a whole month and I spent two whole months before that almost entirely in that radio hut! If I say third ear, I mean third fuckin’ ear!”
“Okay, alright!” Kaitlyn found herself snorting with laughter at his vehemence. It was nice to see that dead-dream-Dylan had kept his flair for the dramatic.
“Thank you. Now, as I was saying, you’ve always been tuned in, I just need you to turn the dial. I’m trapped in the airwaves now, K, but all I really need is a receiver. If anyone can find my frequency, it’s you. I’m still counting on you, final girl.”
Then Kaitlyn startled awake in her darkened bedroom, all alone.

what do you think all the counselors' favorite colors are?
Thanks for the ask moth! This is a bit of a challenge because I associate them so strongly with the colors they wear in the game and that doesn’t necessarily mean those colors are their favorites. But I’m gonna free associate, pull some design theory, and figure it out!
Max - Yellow. “Max Brinly loved the color yellow until he saw it in his own eyes,” popped into my head out of fucking nowhere thinking about this ask. Baby ducks, golden retrievers, early morning light. An energetic, cheerful, supportive color for an energetic, cheerful, supportive lad. Also the color associated with soldiers away at war, danger, the longing for reunion.
(This is not a joke about him being afraid lol also I know that’s orange, the tumblr font color palette is limited okay?)
Laura - Pink. I was definitely thinking about her wearing the tracksuit Max ends up in. But there’s also just something about associating a true badass with pink. It’s an unexpected twist, like going to summer camp expecting to dole out bandaids and ending up a one-eyed werewolf hunter. Pink is playful, kind, and optimistic.
Dylan - Green. His forest green phone is such a choice (everyone else has basic black or gray phones, right?) and I love it! He just strikes me as a green kind of kid. It’s a color the offbeat kids were more likely to choose when I was the age that we talked about favorite colors a lot (vs. blue, red, pink, the usual suspects). It’s the color associated with both inexperience and jealousy, but also hope, renewal, growth, the anticipation of things about to bloom.
Jacob - Red. Jacob seems like a red kind of guy to me (though, like Max with yellow, he might be a bit tired of it after the canon events) This boy has a temper and ‘sees red’ easily, but he’s also tender and lovable. Associated with passion, enthusiasm, heart, hot-headedness, fire (and fireworks!), blushing, and blood.
Ryan - Blue. He might be a little bit goth on the outside but Ryan’s a sailor, I feel like he’s drawn to water and sky. I think he’d like a teal or aqua kind of blue, think Caribbean ocean water and swimming pools with no dead bodies in them whatsoever. Blue is loyalty, dependability, a tranquil exterior, transitory sadness, and peacemaking. Blue is apparently the most popular favorite color in the world (humans love the sky, is what this tells me).
Nick - Orange. Maybe it’s because his best scenes are in the golden hour with Abi, but I imagine Nick might vibe with a sunset orange. Softer and more restrained than red but not quite as cheerful as yellow, associated with the sweet fruit of the same name, but also positivity, caution, warmth, and difficulty with commitment. Orange, like Nick, can be a polarizing color in design.
Kaitlyn - Red. There are only so many colors, we have to double up somewhere! Kaitlyn’s red has a different flavor to Jacob’s. It’s bold, alert, and protective, like the light on top of an ambulance, but also flashy and action-oriented. Fire can be equally as defensive as it is destructive. We can assume Kaitlyn shares Brenda Song’s Chinese and Thai heritage, and red is an extremely auspicious color in Chinese culture. Also, on a shallower note, I love Kaitlyn’s red shoulder stripes in her 80’s ‘fit! I wish they’d made her high top converse red to match!
Abi - Purple. She doesn’t wear anything purple in the entire game, in any of her ‘fits, and you might make a good argument for her favorite being red, but I think Abi is a purple gal at heart. Maybe a soft, romantic, sweet shade like lavender. Associated with dignity, intuition, a rich fantasy life, and emotional depth. (My personal favorite, with teal and green not far behind).
Emma - Green. Doubling up again, but I have to let the game guide me here. Emma consistently has green as a major color or accent across all three of her outfits, so clearly she’s drawn to it. Shes the only one with a color theme like that! Maybe she likes that it brings out the greener tones in her hazel eyes. I imagine her gravitating toward a more emerald shade, associated with success, wealth, and abundance. There’s a dramatic flair to green that fits Emma well.

I could probably talk myself out of half of these and have reasoning for alternate takes, tbh, but I’d love to know what others think!
