#Ken Doll Reboot

Inspired by THIS picture of Joe Keery and the possibility that s4 Steve could have had the most glorious blonde highlights. we could have had it aaaaaall.

The bell chimes as Steve bursts through the glass doors of Family Video, bringing in a gust of the hot summer air with him.

"Shut the door!" Robin demands from behind the counter, lunging forward, exasperated because of course, that stupid door is getting stuck on its hinges and not closing properly right in the middle of summer. And Robin had only just managed to regulate the store's temperature after a pair of morons (aka, Mike and Will) had biked away and left it wide open.

Steve nods, looking like his blank, dingus self in his summertime attire: a baby blue polo and navy shorts that are far too short, giving Robin vivid flashbacks to their dorky Scoops uniforms. She looks down and realises he is, in fact, wearing an identical pair of blue sneakers he'd worn slinging ice creams and her mind drifts to what she could fashion in order to resurrect the 'You Suck' board. Between the outfit and his new hairstyle, he sure was regressing back to his peak 1985 lameness.

"Hi!" he announces, doing his silly little dad-jog to the counter.

"Oh my god!" Dustin shrieks, finally looking up from the VHS order catalogue he was 'helping' Robin look through.

The exclaim stirs Eddie, carefully selecting candies he is absolutely, one hundred percent going to pay for.

"Oh," he says, looking at Steve's hair, now almost entirely blonde with shining, fresh highlights. His face stays frozen in an 'o' shape as he practically collapses against the counter and holds on for dear life. Robin snickers, readying herself for some not-so-subtle teasing, but Dustin gets one in first.

"You look like a Ken doll."

Robin cackles, admittedly at her best friend's expense but, sue her. Henderson sure has a way with (bitchy) words.

Steve leans an arm on the counter, conveniently facing Eddie and smirks. "Always so complimentary, Henderson."

"Shut up, it looks good!" comes Max from the comedy aisle where she and Lucas have been standing for way too long.

Robin makes a face, knowing that all these little pocket moniless twerps are only in the store for the (not even all that good) air-conditioning.

Lucas elbows Max, offering a faint, "What the hell?"

"What?" she retorts, folding her arms. "He looks good."

The couple continues squabbling, the only intelligible words being, "he's lame", and, "but he has nice hair".

Steve runs a hand through said hair, likely knowing it's causing a store-spanning reaction because he's just that vain.

"Just got it done," he smiles like he hadn't spent the past week sitting behind the counter and not working while he was looking at hair magazines.

But he also looks like he's really only interested in impressing one very stupid, slack-jawed metalhead dressed head to toe in black despite it being the dog days of summer. Robin narrows her eyes and pokes at Eddie's bare arm in hopes of rebooting him to his annoying factory settings.

"Munson! You are being suspiciously quiet. What's say you?"

"Uhhh," he hums, looking Steve over before settling back on gawking at his goddamn hair.

"Jesus Christ!" Dustin groans, hanging his head in his hands. He gathers up his pen, paper and order catalogue and heads to the back room, continuing to act like he's an actual employee.

Eddie finally closes his mouth and gives a tight-lipped smile and Robin can practically feel Steve fawning over his devil-disguised-as-a-cherub dimples.

"It… It looks... good," Eddie mumbles, stuttering all the way and avoiding eye contact.

Robin snorts, realising the lovesick moron is just going to remain a melting puddle of goo, not worth teasing at all. She pushes off her wheely chair, sending it flying backwards as she heads for the returns trolley sitting abandoned across the store.

She misses Eddie eventually gathering himself up enough to move a step closer and quietly say, "You look pretty".

And all Steve can do is blush with a meek, "Thanks".

It was a beautiful day out. Shining sun, warm weather, and your boyfriend looked so darn cute that you couldn't help it...

"Hey, baby girl!" You said in a sing-song voice as you walked up and threw your arms around his neck.

Kazutora.exe has stopped working. Did you just call him "baby girl?"

He instantly missed the normal pet names you used for him.

He's just sort of standing there, dumb founded while his brain reboots and the tips of his ears turn red.

You finally realize he hasn't returned your hug, too wrapped up in little giggles over your silly, innocent prank. When you pulled back, you noticed the worry on his brow.

" 'Tora?"

"What happened to 'love'?" The words were said so softly.

"Handsome, it was just a silly joke." You pulled him back into a hug, a little tighter this time, and he buried his head into the crook of your neck. You felt him relax as things returned to normal. His arms were tight when they finally wrapped around you.

"You're baby girl."

You were bored. Scrolling through your phone, you came across a simple text, "call your boyfriend, baby girl and see how they react."

Why not? It could be funny.

Ran was lying on a nearby couch with his eyes closed, a small uptick in his smirk as he heard you approaching.

You leaned over the back of the couch, looking down at him.

"I'm bored, baby girl."

This guy. Impassive. Unbothered. Completely unfazed.

His eyes don't even open. Not bothering to dignify you with a response to your antics.

He was so used to you pulling jokes like this that all he did was sigh.

"Try again."

"Sweet cheeks?"

"Negative."

"Baby doll."

"One more try, or your ass is getting ignored for the rest of the day."

Your face fell at the empty threat, your lower lip jutting out in a pout.

"Ran," you whined, and he cracked an eye open. "That's not very nice, babe."

"There ya go. C'mon, you little brat. Let's go."

You knew it was a bad idea. But Mikey had dared you! With Doroyaki on the line, you'd do it.

"Go call Ken-chin 'baby girl' Just once. It'll be funny."

So here you were, swaying your hips as you walked up to Draken, instantly catching his eye. He leaned back in his chair, wholly transfixed with you.

Your fingers slid under his chin like he would normally do to you when he was looking for a kiss. Your voice was sultry when you finally spoke after working up the nerve.

"Hi, baby girl."

Draken's eyebrow slowly rose, hiking up in a sharp arc.

"Baby girl, huh?"

He knew you were playing at something. Trying to get a rise out of him.

Draken was never one to step down for putting you in your place, though.

This man was on his feet in seconds, tossing you over his broad shoulder, toting you away from the group.

You noticed the look on his face a moment too late, that shift in his demeanor, and you knew you were in for it.

"Lemme remind you, who exactly is the 'baby girl' in this relationship, hm?"

The loud smack he landed on your ass and Mikey's booming laughter followed you all the way out of the room.

I’m looking to put together information about glue head in Mattel’s dolls from 2006 to the 2016 reboot. Specifically if some dolls or price points were exempt. The reason being that it’s increasingly hard to get information more than a decade old out of google. Please boost and add any information or links you have.

Obviously we know about Monster High G1 but do we know which dolls are exempt (other than Create a Monster obvs)? Basics Jane Boolittle has been glue free the 3 times I’ve had her in hand, does that extend to her other dolls?

A few days ago I got out Mattel-Disney Tiana for the beehive tutorial and she had glue head that was treated within a few hours. Does that extend to all Disney princesses by Mattel (ie: a bunch of Rapunzels)

I assume all the articulated Fashionistas have glue head as they were playline but does that include the swapping styles heads and Ken? I think Barbie Basics is affected but all of them? The collector Landmarks? Twilight? Toy Story? So in Style?

The Ken House Part 1

I have the juice to write again a bit so I will

Henry

Henry is definitely not my favorite person in the world he is the vain assistant I hired initially after I started to work regularly he is a something alright.

A pretty boy I would be shocked to see leave a mirror if he did not have to work so petty and fucking vain one day I had enough in anger.

I am planning to fire him today that is till I spotted it my eyes locking on it wired box in a mirror the man stands tending to it as I enter the room.

As soon as my hand touches the odd shape door handle shoving it forward the cool air exits in to the room dragging me in to it with a quick sweep.

The door slams shut behind me in a huff find myself sitting in a chair behind a desk in a workshop with large wooden life like dolls apparently.

I rise to my feet noticing each extended area of the room has a letter attached I walk past my area and down the aisle titled L ending up with a strange box.

One is titled Master Lawrence I pick up the treasure box and the letter next to it opening it up a key falls in to my hand it’s clearly a one do kind.

Fitting perfectly in to the key hole I turn to pop open the top of the box only to see a strange gust of air filter our covering the room.

I can’t escape losing my breath I faint falling to my knees I go unconscious completely left unprotected till morning where I find myself under my power.

I roll on to my back, surveying everything In the room I am locked in to a form standing by a mirror unable to do anything but to stare.

“Oh My God! Henry are you there? Hello?”

“Out to lunch as per usual”

“What the fuck?”

“Hello! Henry Doll is activated”

“You acquired my soul last night”

“This is a synthetic body made of the real one.”

“It’s perfect in every way”

“Just for you “

“Play with me”

“As you wish”

Henry spins on his feet to face me head on I am at lost for words, he moves to the side of the room.

The mirror turns on blowing up in a brighter gold color emits blasting in my face silver letters appear in a sentence very bold for me to see.

Clear as day sign the contract to Real Dolls mirror or he will be removed from this room and you will never see him again this was his own doing.

“I am cruel and vain you pointed that out the same day this mirror was offered online.”

“I thought I could see my superiority even better when in fact it led to my doom.”

“They helped me to see my real place at your feet.”

“I am now a Real Doll”

“Accept me as yours?”

“Yes, you are my Master now and let’s play “

Tom

I command Henry to sit for me as he plops on to the bed and I exit the room down the lengthy staircase.

It is a beautiful golden spiral one like I have never seen in my life quite magnificent to snow off.

I hit the bottom step to see a familiar face my person chef Tom in his glories fully put together.

He is decorated in his chefs hay covering that chisel forehead, his body cover with a chefs apron.

He looks pretty sexy I have to say cooking away he has no idea I am here he stops for a split second.

His eyes start shift colors as his pupils grow and shrink size his mind is mind copulated over and over again.

I notice the culprit instantly showcasing it all to me the glass mirror reflection on the oven door is glowing gold as well right in to his face.

He stops cold mindlessly emptying away in to a state of nothingness he falls on to his ass hard.

I crack up knowing he soon will join the rank as one of my Ken Dolls I party in a huge type of celebration.

The great part of this is my last bit effort to sign the contract I could feel the last of all my morals holding me back but I broke free of it.

“Sorry! He is mine now”

“His eyes go completely black

“I can’t wait for you to reboot”

Falling a sleep that afternoon I did not order or expect my two Dolls to get to work on a plan they hatched.

They walk out the front door making sure to lock up behind them crossing the floor to the apartment next door.

Tom kicks the door open entering the third door as they pass through the room in utter excitement.

Chris eyes open up in shock at the two odd looking crazy guys standing at his door they waltz in.

They both grab one end of his body forcing him to the floor dragging him across the floor to my apartment.

“Who the hell are you? What are you doing to me?”

“LET ME GO!”

“Ssssssshhhhhhhh”

“Zip your mouth”

“The constraints of life will soon be over”

Round One - Wave Two

Information on these Sallys: Both these versions of Sally were featured in the Archie Sonic Comics during the Pre-SGW (pre-reboot) Era Future Sally - Light Mobius is exactly that, a future version of Sally from a timeline known as "Light Mobius". This is basically the "main" future Sally featured in the comics. She appears many times, from Ken Penders's infamous "Mobius: 25 Years Later" to having an editorial mandated short and unhappy marriage to Shadow to finally settling down with Sonic. In this future, Sally and Sonic have two kids together, called Manik and Sonia in a homage to the characters from Sonic Underground, although Manic's name is spelled differently. If you're interested in learning more about this version of Sally, then what I've written here is honestly a short blurb compared to all the detail over on her wikia entry Pre-SGW Sally - Kid is a very clunky way of saying that this is the kid version of Sally from before the reboot. Sally was actually shown as a kid in three different continuities: SatAM, Pre-SGW Archie and Post-SGW Archie. All three of them have been included in this tournament. They have largely the same origins of being a young princess who's father was sealed away by Dr. Robotnik, causing Sally and her friends to flee to the Great Forest to hide from him and grow up learning to fight him. I quite like the Pre-SGW version of kid Sally, because she has a slightly different outfit from the other versions. On this image, she's holding a doll of Chun-Li from Street Fighter

My ocs as Barbie and Ken 🫶🫶

The Barbie movie is so special to me. It's honestly so rare to find things so unabashedly feminine and FOR girls (or people who grew up with those things) with everything getting the dark and gloomy or "girlboss" treatment nowadays. Society treats anything cute and feminine as either a joke (see all those gags that are just men wearing frilly dresses? Or feminine characters that are treated as dumb and shallow?) or a weakness that girls have to grow out of at some point.

It was SOOO amazing seeing all the boys and girls at the cinema dressed in pink and hearing everyone talking about what dolls they had or which movies they grew up with. It was kinda surreal because this was one of the few times I actually felt like I (and probably so many other people) was included in the crowd. Like YES, I also trashed a few barbies here and there when I was younger, oh my god that's THE earring magic Ken, and hey, I also watched the old Barbie movies!

It feels so fucking good finally being able to be a part of something that was targeted towards ME and people like me, who usually don't get to have anything this BIG. Like sure, Barbie is huge, but it is so rare for something so pink and girly to be this talked about.

Anyway, on another note, the opening scene where we're introduced to Barbieland and all the barbies nearly made me tear up. It is so rare to see so many women from different walks of life with their own careers and skills, all treated as intelligent and confident, and most importantly, uplifting each other. I'm so tired of seeing the catty female rivals trope, especially if there's a man involved. Sometimes all I want is to see girls be friends with each other, like in real life.

Anyway, with the massive success of the Barbie movie, I hope filmmakers (specifically male ones hoping to make a quick buck under the guise of "girl power") will take the hint and stop making fake girlboss movies and riverdale-ing perfectly good feminine and fun shows. I also hope that it pushes more female (or non-male focused) movies into the spotlight. That doesn't mean that they all have to be pink and shiny, but well yk, it's about time they diversify their color palettes anyway.

But whatever that's all about Barbie and movies 🫶 I sure hope that new Winx reboot will be good. And while they're doing reboots why doesn't Japan go ahead and give us a Mermaid Melody reboot 😁

i literally installed sr3 just to write down my sliders from scratch bc i could figure out why he didnt look right and i think its his nose??? (now aside from that the second thing u may notice is difference in nip color yes i noticed it too idk what thats abt 🤨 ???) the light brown hair is too warm in game it looks yellow he looks like a sad ken doll :( ive tweaked him a lot since to try n fix cutscenes at least (including lightening his skin </3) but omg its sooo. mm. not him ig idk. (i dont even wanna try to make vaughn i kno they would chew her up n spit her out :(((() oh one more note, the remastered eyes having the same asset/texture w/e as the original is so jarring for some reason </3

they gave fucking alister wonderland a doll but not sparrow hood?? love alister no offense but he was introduced sm later on in the show and the doll looks like a ken reject. sparrow's character had such a cool design and deserved a doll way more. in addition alister also got a doll with bunny blanc set. such an irrelevant character since the show got cancelled. i wish they focused on making more dolls of the og characters instead of the soft reboot dolls. so lame.

so like it sucks that monster high is like, dead, and ESPECIALLY that the build of them changed so drastically into such a downgrade, that, either, you seek out the older models (which get rarer and rarer) for your customs, OR you go through the painstaking effort of modding the newer dolls into something with the level of articulation you want, OR you just put up and shut up with the downgrade and customize for there and neuter your plans

or you can get a snapstar doll for like 20 bucks and enjoy the full articulation and inset eyes and removable hair and it comes with a stand
