A Visitor's Guide to Exploring London's Colourful Neighbourhoods
Tumblr media
One of the things I love about walking around London is the many beautiful areas to explore. The city boasts 32 boroughs, each with something unique to offer. However, discovering London's hidden corners is best done on foot. Luckily, this vibrant capital is pedestrian-friendly, making it easy to find quirky and bright areas, mainly when staying at central properties like these Hotels Near Earls Court London. Here is a visitor's guide to exploring London's colourful neighbourhoods.
Hampstead
Known as one of the prettiest neighbourhoods in the city, Hampstead is renowned for its picturesque streets, cute shops, and sprawling Heath.
In addition, Hampstead is filled with hidden gems like the Holly Bush and Fenton House's tucked-away gardens.
Kensington
Kensington is one of London's most elegant neighbourhoods due to its abundance of mews streets and royal residences. Kensington Palace Gardens and Kensington Church Street offer a variety of interesting details, such as impressive real estate. In addition to a bustling high street, pubs decorated with flowers, and candy-cane-striped buildings, there's a lot to see and do in this city. Visitors looking to spend most of their time in this area can book a stay at this Park Grand Kensington Accommodation.
Chelsea
One of the prettiest neighbourhoods in London is Chelsea, which is located next to South Kensington. Its side streets are bursting with colour, from pastel houses on Bywater Street to rainbow row homes on Godfrey Street. The King's Road isn't just about colours; it is also a great shopping destination and offers a view of the Thames and historic houses. Nature lovers will enjoy walking around the cosy side streets of Chelsea and exploring the Chelsea Physic Garden.
Knightsbridge
Luxury shopping and over-the-top house prices characterize Knightsbridge. Affluent and beautiful, this is one of the most expensive neighbourhoods in London. While here, make sure to head to the many food halls at Harrods and take in the orange brick architecture on Pont Street. Knightsbridge is the ideal designer shopping spot for luxury Kensington London Hotels guests.
Notting Hill
Notting Hill is one of those neighbourhoods that always makes the list of places to visit in London. Known for its colourful houses and vibrant market, this place is popular with travellers and locals.
However, Portobello Road isn't the only thing to see here. Many shops and restaurants in Notting Hill attract people from all over London. We recommend booking a stay at the Hotels Near Gloucester Road Tube Station for easy access to this part of London.
Holland Park
Located next to Notting Hill, Holland Park often leaves visitors feeling enchanted. Beauty abounds in the park. One of the most spectacular sights in the city is its stunning spring tulips and summer roses. In addition to the Japanese garden, a peacock enclosure adds a magical aspect to the space. Nevertheless, Holland Park goes beyond the green space, especially the picturesque crescents and colours that fill the streets around it.
Other places to check out:
●      Belgravia
●     South Kensington
●     Dulwich

🧸, 🪺, 🔮
rockstar!eddie, baby/kid fic, vacation.
"I feel like I'm herding a bunch of fuckin' cats." Eddie muttered under his breath, reaching for Sicily who started to bound towards the door.
"What?" You frowned, nose crinkling in slight amusement at the phrase. "What does that mean?"
"Nothin'- Hey! Sienna Noelle, sit down." Eddie hissed over the squeals of laughter from the twins, who thought running away from Eddie was the most fun game in the world.
You bit back a smile, ducking to press a kiss to Zahra's head, the toddler lulling to sleep on your lap. It had been an exciting day after all, a trip to Disneyland. It was Eddie's idea, a sweet but chaotic one at that. He wanted the stereotypical trip to the "happiest place on earth" with his family- one the both of you never got to have.
The girls had been more than excited, seeing each of their favorite characters throughout the parks, riding the rides. Eddie had nearly thrown up on the tea cups, grimacing as Kensington and Persephone squealed with joy, twirling them as fast as they could.
Now, in the private room the VIP tour offered, everyone was exhausted, hungry, a little cranky. Except the twins, who napped in their strollers and were energized after a Mickey pretzel.
"Are we going back?" Persephone mumbled, eyes starting to droop the same way Eddie's did when he was tired, fighting sleep. "I wanna ride the Peter Pan ride again."
"We'll ride it again." You cooed, swaying Zahra on your lap. "It'll be a little later. We're going to eat, and then we'll head back to the hotel room for a little bit. Let everyone get some rest so we can watch the fireworks later."
"I don't wanna go back to the room." Kensington whined, knuckling at her eyes. "I wanna go see the Princesses again."
"You'll get to see them later, Kens." Eddie hummed. "We still have two days left. And you have dinner at the castle tomorrow."
Kensington perked at the mention, seemingly settled for now.
The walk back was quiet, even the twins nodding off in their stroller, Persephone on Eddie's hip as he pushed Zahra's stroller one handed. "You think they're having fun?" Eddie hummed, following the Disney escort to the monorail.
You grinned, looking down at the exhausted kids, who had spent hours before squealing and beaming with excitement. "Yeah, I think they're having a lot of fun." You giggled lightly. "Even Sephy."
"Yeah," Eddie snorted lightly. "She's loving that Haunted Mansion ride. We've been on it, like, four times today."
"She's so your kid." You clicked lightly, head shaking playfully at him. "But I did swing by the gift shop after the second time. Picked her up a little shirt with the ghosts on it. I figured she could wear it later."
"She'll love that." Eddie beamed, dimples creasing in his stubbled cheeks. There was a pause, a comfortable silence falling between the two of you.
"Are you having fun?" You asked, looking up at him carefully. "Everything you wanted it to be?"
"Are you kiddin' me?" Eddie scoffed lightly. "Havin' the time of my life, baby. Kids are having fun, we get VIP service, and get to see you in your little ears." He teased gently.
The infamous Mickey ears, a rite of passage you assumed. All the girls had gotten a pair, and Eddie had insisted you had some too. You rolled your eyes at him when he passed them to you, but he didn't miss the way you smiled- the way your features brightened with joy as the girls squealed that you matched them. There was something so healing about getting to do that with your babies, what you didn't have with your own parents.

Timeline Part 3: May 2017 - June 2017
Previously: 2015 - April 2017 | Update to April 2015 - April 2017
As I mentioned before, I'll be doing these in smaller chunks because Tumblr keeps crashing when I do longer posts. In this edition, we'll look at Sussex PR from May 2017 to June 2017.
A quick note first. There isn't as many pieces from Meghan's mouthpieces during this window as there were earlier in the year. I suspect either a) Harry caught on to how much Meghan talked to the press so she scaled back to keep working him or b) the articles were handled when Meghan's team was scrubbing the internet.
This is also when we start seeing the Daily Mail start dripping hints about Meghan's dossier.
Here we go!
And as always, if you have updates, corrections, additions, please share!
5/2/2017: Meghan gives an interview to Good Housekeeping. This is the first known "roast chicken" reference.
5/3/2017: Meghan teases that Harry uses caviar pills to cure his male pattern baldness. "He" credits Meghan's holistic wellness.
5/4/2017: Buckingham Palace announces that Prince Philip is retiring after the summer and will stand down from royal duties. Anna Wintour is made a Dame by The Queen.
5/6/2017: The BBC claims that Harry's father is actually James Hewitt.
5/6/2017 - 5/7/2017: Audi Polo Challenge 2017 at Coworth Park. Meghan attends to watch Harry play polo and she is photographed with Mark Dyer. On Day 1 (May 6th), paparazzi catch Harry and Meghan kissing in the car park. On Day 2 (May 7th), William also plays polo and allegedly has Meghan thrown out of Coworth Park for stalking. Also on May 7th, Meghan leaks that she will be attending Pippa's wedding.
5/8/2017: Meghan wears a wedding dress for a movie.
5/9/2017: It's revealed that Meghan ditched Serena William's baby shower to go to London to see Harry.
5/10/2017: Mark Dyer sells his pubs to move out of London. The article is the first confirmation that he/his pubs had hosted Harry and Meghan for dates in the early days of their relationship. Speculation begins that Dyer doesn't like Meghan at all.
5/12/2017: Risque photos from a production Meghan did in 2011 resurface.
5/16/2017: Meghan flies into London for Pippa's wedding, although it isn't reported until May 17th and it isn't confirmed until May 18th.
5/18/2017: Meghan confirms she is in London to attend Pippa's wedding.
5/19/2017: Meghan does a pap walk in leggings and shows off her bum. The photos lead to the headline "Wedding of the Rears" and a front page photo by The Sun. Eugenie gives a tone-deaf interview about her "career" and mentions that she loves "The Crown."
5/20/2017: Pippa's Wedding. Meghan is not invited to the ceremony but is allowed at the after-party. Harry leaves the wedding midday to drive 3 hours round-trip to pick Meghan up from Nottingham Cottage. Rumors begin that Meghan wasn't allowed at all to Pippa's wedding, making Meghan angry, so to keep the peace, Harry left the wedding early and picked Meghan up so they could drive past local press to pretend they were going to the wedding.
5/21/2017: Meghan is papped leaving Kensington Palace early in the morning to fly back to Toronto.
5/22/2017:
Meghan gives an interview to Glamour UK about her fashion sense and style. She gives an infamous quote about how she likes to wear monochromatic neutrals (which later bites her in the butt when she says the royals made her wear only neutrals).
The Daily Mail reveals that Meghan's legal first name is actually Rachel.
Risque photos from Meghan's 2013 film resurface.
Meghan claims she was given rooms at the hotel where Pippa's wedding breakfast was being held and that she stayed away from the service out of respect to the bride. This completely contradicts her earlier story that she had stayed at Kensington Palace and that Harry left the wedding early to collect her for the after-party.
5/24/2017:
Priyanka Chopra gives an interview in which she speaks about Meghan and hints that she and Harry are engaged, saying she hopes for an invite to the wedding.
Meghan leaks that Harry plans to take her to Lesotho.
Sentebale's financial report is published.
5/28/2017: Meghan teases that she and Harry are house-hunting in Norfolk to be near William, Kate, and the children.
5/29/2017: William's GQ issue is published, in which he gives an intervew speaking about Diana's death and new photographs of the Cambridge family (in black and white!) are released.
5/31/2017: Camilla Thurlow (of Love Island) gives an interview about having dated Harry back in 2014 when they were photographed at a nightclub together.
6/4/2017: Harry travels to Singapore for four days to play polo in a fundraiser for Sentebale. He also does AIDS awareness work. The polo game is where he meets and befriends Nacho Figueroa.
6/7/2017: Harry travels to Sydney to promote the 2018 Invictus Games, merching his Meghan bracelet. Also, Pippa and James Matthews are in Perth for their honeymoon at the same time.
6/8/2017: Andrew applies to the UK Intellectual Property Office to trademark his Pitch@Palace initiative.
6/9/2017: Meghan is just like Queen Letizia!
6/10/2017: Meghan the yoga influencer. Meghan gives an airport papwalk in Texas ahead of the ATX Festival, merching her Panama hat, The Economist, and Chanel. Patrick Adams gives an interview to ATX about Meghan's relationship and speculates Harry ought to make a cameo on Suits.
6/11/2017: US Weekly speculates that Harry and Meghan could be getting married soon.
6/14/2017: The Sun recaps Harry's past relationships. They also reveal that Meghan had been invited to the 2016 Invictus Games in Orlando. The Sun claims that Meghan accepted the invitation and attended the games, but she and Harry didn't meet.
(June 14, 2017, is also the Grenfell Tower fire.)
6/16/2017: The Daily Express speculate on what Harry and Meghan's children could like.
6/17/2017:
The royal family celebrates The Queen's Birthday Parade, Trooping the Colour. (Kate and Charlotte wear pink.)
Meghan merches a gold and diamond thumb ring that she claims is from Harry. She also claims that Harry gave her a Cartier Love Bracelet (which we know now is actually from Trevor).
E News reports that Harry flies to Toronto after Trooping festivities to visit Meghan. E News also claims that Harry will propose by the end of the year and that Meghan is preparing to move to London. They later update the article to say Harry's camp denied that he went to Toronto and instead went directly to Malawi/Africa.
6/20/2017:
William and Kate make their first Royal Ascot appearance.
Meghan puts Beatrice and Eugenie on notice that she knows they're trying to take her down.
Rumors of Meghan's attitude/behavior causing problems on the Suits set begin. She brushes it off in an interview saying the cast is upset she keeps ditching them to spend time with Harry and that it'll blow over when she introduces Harry to them.
According to unverified claims by E News, Harry leaves Toronto and flies to Malawi for conservation charity work.
Meghan's character arrives on "The Windsors."
6/21/2017: Harry's Newsweek interview to commemorate the 20th anniversary of Diana's passing, and is part of his Hero Harry PR drive. Infamous snippets:
He's in no rush to get married or propose (clapback to all of Meghan's PR trying to hustle him down the aisle).
No one wants to be king or queen.
He wanted to quit the royal family at one point.
Meghan "communed with the dinosaurs" date night at the Natural History Museum.
"Small window of when people are interested in me before George and Charlotte take over."
6/22/2017: Fleet Street criticism of Harry's Newsweek interview begins. It lasts for about a week.
6/25/2017: Sexy photos from Meghan's 2014 model shoot resurface. Meghan leaks that Harry is making her engagement ring with diamonds and emeralds from Diana's collection and that he is collaborating with the royal jeweller, Harry Collins. She also says that Harry wants to marry sooner rather than later while Philip is still around to attend. (This comes after news that Philip was hospitalized for an infection and immediately causes speculation that Philip is seriously unwell/knocking at death's door.)
6/26/2017: E News claims that Harry's discussion about modernizing the monarchy and his role in the modernized monarchy is him preparing for marriage. This immediately causes speculation amongst royal watchers that he and Meghan had fought about the monarchy's way of charitywork (versus her issues-based campaigning) and Harry's sudden discussions about how the monarchy was modernizing was his attempts to fix it.
Also on 6/26/2017, the Court Circular confirms Harry is in Malawai. It is his only Court Circular appearance between 6/17/2017 (Trooping) and 7/6/2017.
6/27/2017: Meghan flies to London. Harry merches Sandals' Grande St. Lucian resort in a promo article. He stayed at the resort during his Caribbean tour in November 2016.
6/28/2017: Meghan merches her clothes and Channel 4 announces a "Meet the Markles" reality show/docuseries about Meghan's family.
6/29/2017: Meghan merches her clothes again and again tries to be a fashion influencer by plugging the "Meghan Effect." The trailer for Suits Season 7 drops and Charles and Camilla travel to Canada for a 3-day tour.
6/30/2017: Meghan leaks that she and Harry are very private homebodies and prefer to stay at home.
7/1/2017: The Cambridges, Harry, and the Spencers attend a private memorial service at the Althorp estate for Diana. (Meghan is in Toronto filming the 100th episode of Suits, courtesy of Patrick Adams' instagram.) Meghan's relationship history is published. Charles announces plans to throw an enormous 70th birthday party for Camilla.

Sherlock & Co Locations
Location, location, location. Are you like me and not a native Londoner? Are you also like me wondering how to visualize a place or, perhaps more importantly, how long does it take to get from 221B to the various locations and how much they're spending on tube fare?
Well then look no further! This is my masterpost with links to each location described in detail in each post made on those locations. Each post gives a bit about how far from 221B it's located (depending on travel method), how much it likely cost them to get there, photos of the location, and a bit of the location's history.
Every time we get a new locale I'll add a post and link it here. :) Lmk if I miss any and I'll add them. If you see a location and it has no link then either the link broke or I haven't made the post yet, but logged the location.
Cheers!

Hey how did your date with M go? 🥹
EEEEEEK IT WENT SO GOOD 😭😭🩷🩷 we had such a good time.
the day started with me meeting him at the train station, and i was so worried i wouldn’t recognise him 🤣🤣🤣 but i did and he seemed to recognise me straight away because he was smiling the whole time walking up to me 🥹
we hugged and just chatted and we went to a local cafe to get some drinks before heading out.
we went on a half an hour walk through Kensington Park (WHICH IS SO BEAUTIFUL MIGHT I ADD) and we took a bunch of photos together, and videos AND HE WAS LETTING ME HOLD HIS ARM WHILE WE WALKED 😭😭🩷🩷
we made plans to go to the Natural History Museum but the queue was so damn long, we decided to go to the Victoria & Albert Museum which was pretty cool 🤭
around 4pm we decided to head back to his hotel, and while we were walking, HE SLYLY SLIPPED HIS HAND INTO MINE 😭😭🤣🤣🤣🤣🩷🩷 AND HE ASKED ME IF IT WAS OKAY AND I WAS LIKE YES I WAS WAITING FOR YOU TO DO IT 🤣 and overall it was just very very cute and wholesome, he was cracking jokes and being a cringelord the whole time 🥰
we got back to his hotel, he checked in and we got to his room and we just crashedddd, we were so tired so we both just laid on the bed and watched madagascar 3 on the TV AND IT WAS A FUCKING FUNNY MOVIE TOO 🤣🤣🤣 and the whole time he was playing with my hands and holding them and he had his other hand on my thigh (i was lying on my side facing him) and he was asking if it was ok for him to touch me there and i said yes 🥹
and he continued to stare and he goes “i wanna kiss you” and I GOT SHY 😭 and i told him i’ve never kissed anyone before and he goes “do you want to?” AND I WAS LIKE YES HELLO ???)?
AND YEAH I HAD MY FIRST KISSS 🤭🤭🤭 AND IT WAS VERY GOOD WE WENT IN FOR IT TWO MORE TIMES AND SUDDENLY IT BECAME A MAKEOUT SESSION 🤯
EVENTUALLY…. things got a bit heated and um yeah i … gave him head 😅😅😅
and yeah that was Sunday 😁😁😁
MONDAY, we went to this lego exhibition WHICH WAS SO COOL 🤯
it was great and after the exhibition, we went to the park and he asked if we could sit and talk for a little bit and i was like ok.
we sat on the bench, the weather was really nice and sunny (bit windy but oh well) and he put his arm around my waist and pulled me closer to him 😭🩷🩷 and we were talking about how we both had a great time and it sucks that’d he’d have to leave in about two hours 😒 and he goes “i’ve been wanting to ask you this for a while, but i wanted to do it in person.” and i was like oh????
and he’s looking at me and he’s smiling and he goes “i think we should make things official.”
THE WAYYYYY I WAS LIKE 😱 oh my god
I GOT SHY 😭😭😭 i had to look away from him and i was like “YES HELLO? YES IVE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS”
he started laughing 😭 and we decided we’d make the long distance thing work and he’ll try and come down to london as often as he can and i’ll go up to him whenever i can.
we were running late so decided to get a move on, and just as i was about to get off the bench, he was like “what, no kiss?” i was like damn okay 🤣 so i kissed him and then pulled him off the bench and we went to the station.
his train wasn’t for another hour so we went to a cafe and waited, just yapping, going through photos and the whole time he was holding my hands 😭😭😭😭 it’s the bare minimum i know but it was so unusual for me because obviously never done that before 😭
his train pulled up on the platform so we went down to his platform and it was kinda busy so we waited for the crowd to die down and we said our goodbyes, the usual hug and the kiss and he was reassuring me it won’t be too long till we see each other again and yeah.
overall a very good weekend, i miss him a lot 🙁
also here are the photos from the lego exhibition 😁

London, Part 1: June 17-22, 2024
It's been a long time since I traveled alone without having work or family or a con or something to guide my agenda. I landed in London with tickets to a couple of shows, but otherwise just open-ended days I could spend as I like. This is my favorite way to travel, whether alone, with my partner, or with a friend. I love being able to sleep as late as I like and do whatever the mood strikes each day.
The day I arrived, I took it easy. I took a shower and a nap, then found a place with fantastic steak & ale pie for dinner and wandered to a local park that had a beautiful Japanese garden. I was surprised to find the sun rose at 5 a.m. and set around 10 p.m. each day - earlier and later than I'm accustomed to, even in the height of summer in Maryland.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Another happy surprise were the intersex-inclusive pride flags prominently displayed when I entered my hotel, the Premier Inn (London Kensington - Olympia).
Tumblr media
Side note on Premier Inn: I stayed at several of them during my travels. They're a budget hotel chain in the UK that's very queer-friendly, clean, secure, comfortable, quiet, and I had very good experiences at every location.
Once I had a good night's rest, I asked myself: "What do I want to do today?" And the answer to that question was "Go shopping." I was keen to check out Camden Market, a sprawling collection of small, quirky shops and restaurants in London. One of my favorite clothing stores, Psylo, is there, and I wanted to buy myself a cool outfit. Which I did!
Tumblr media
I also got an artsy photo taken of my eyeball to gift to my partner.
I had lunch at The Cheese Bar. It was fantastic.
Tumblr media
There were some truly wild shops in Camden Market that were visually impressive:
Tumblr media
I had a ball exploring the shops and little eateries (I even got a Pasteis de Nata, a kind of custard tart I fell in love with in Portugal a few years back), and I could've spent an entire day there, but I was restless and eager to see more stuff, so I ended up wandering to the nearby London Zoo. It was a pretty sweet zoo with lots of different animals and habitats represented. There was a free-roaming tamarind inside the rainforest building, which was cool to see up close. (I have a video, but Tumblr limits you to uploading only one video per post, boo.)
I wandered through Queen Mary's Rose Garden after that, and stopped by the gorgeous Daunt Books, which specializes in travel books.
Tumblr media
London definitely has an amazing bookshop scene. The next day, I visited 10 more of them, focusing on occult bookshops. I found my books in stock at a few of them (squee!) and chatted with the owners as I signed them.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I was also delighted to see Pamela Colman Smith's fireplace at Treadwell's:
Tumblr media
And Gerald Gardner's original meeting place at the Atlantis Bookshop:
Tumblr media
I loved visiting these bookshops, especially if they carried my friends' books. It warmed my heart to see their books in another country.
I also teared up a bit visiting Gay's The Word, the UK's oldest LGBTQ+ bookshop, which was featured in the movie Pride (2014). I was thrilled to see they carried my friend Tamsin's book.
Tumblr media
I also checked out the Vagina Museum. I'd followed them on social media for years, so it was really nice to visit and support them in person. It's small, and in kind of a rough location, but it's worth a visit.
That day, I had the best fish and chips of my entire life at The Crown & Anchor, which I mistakenly thought was the pub in Ted Lasso when I found it on Google Maps (turns out they renamed a different pub with that name for the show). Holy crap, I want to eat that specific fish and chips the rest of my life. Every other time I had fish and chips on the trip, it failed to live up to this one. I got spoiled early. It was so buttery and crisp and utterly perfect.
The next big trip highlight was seeing a production of Much Ado About Nothing at Shakespeare's Globe Theatre. It's a reconstruction of the Globe from the Elizabethan era. I sprung for a seat with a cushion(!) on the second level, and I had a great view of the fantastic production. I'm so glad I got to see this specific play, because it's my favorite. The cast was amazing, and seeing it in that theatre was a deeply moving experience, like stepping back in time.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
youtube
They also had one of the rare original folios of Shakespeare's plays on display:
Tumblr media
As if that experience didn't give my brain enough happy chemicals, afterwards I went to Dopamine Land. Dopamine Land is a temporary exhibit/experience available all over the world, where you wander through about 10 different rooms that stimulate and soothe your senses in different ways, including a giant, adult-sized ball pit. I really liked the first room, which was all mirrors and color-changing dangling lights.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The next day, I visited Tate Britain with my friend Beckett, who has been an online friend for the past decade, and is both a fantastic musician in her own right and also a big supporter of my band, the Misbehavin' Maidens. She and her wife met me at the museum and we got to do one of the LGBTQIA+ tours. It was a super interesting tour focusing on a handful of pieces by queer artists, with queer themes expressed in the pieces. Apparently, each of the LGBTQIA+ tours is different, so I'd definitely go back and do it again.
Another highlight of Tate Britain was seeing The Lady of Shallott painting by John William Waterhouse, which I think was on the cover of one of my English Lit textbooks in college.
Tumblr media
After the museum, we went to a pub and I had my first Sticky Toffee Pudding! It was delicious - served with salted caramel ice cream. (I developed a preference over the course of the trip, though, to have it served with custard.)
Tumblr media
My first Tube ride made me giggle, incidentally:

4 things you need to know about The Making of Harry Potter
Tumblr media
People from around the world flock to London for different reasons. While the foodies might come for the restaurants in Kensington, the business-people might spend the majority of their time in a Conference Room in London. A very enticing reason for lovers of the world of Harry Potter is the “Warner Bros. Studio Tour: The Making of Harry Potter” located in Watford and accessible from London. Here are four things you need to know about making the magical trip.
1. Getting there
Watford is an English town northwest of London which can take as little as 15 minutes to get to Watford Junction from London Euston station on a West Midlands train towards Northampton. Watford Junction is self-aware enough to know why people are visiting the station, so there are regular shuttle buses from the station to the studio, which also takes about 15 minutes. Buses run every 30 minutes from 9.20am, so it is important to factor all of this in to ensure you arrive in time for your allocated starting time. For instance, it will likely take you around an hour and a half to get from the Park Grand London Kensington Hotel to the studio’s doorstep. There is also parking, if you have access to a car.
2. Tickets
This is not the kind of activity you can wing, even if you are great on a broomstick. Booking is essential, so try to pick your date and time as soon as you have booked a room with Special Offers London Hotels. There are group tickets for bigger groups, as well as deluxe packages and tickets that include everything from a private tour guide to a spot of delicious afternoon tea.
3. The Gift Shop
The chances of you leaving The Making of Harry Potter without a bag of goodies from the gift shop are about the same as catching a Golden Snitch - possible, but unlikely. Make sure you take some spending money so that you can take your friends and family a chocolate frog or a bag of Bertie Botts Every Flavour Beans to make them suitably jealous. Make sure you know which house you are in so that you can get the uniform to match!
4. Timing Tips
Obviously, the time you visit will be dependent on availability at the studios, but a top tip for visitors is to book as early a slot as you can. While you have to enter at your allocated time, there is no cap on how long you can stay, so you can really make a day of it exploring the sets and immersing yourself in the world of Harry Potter.
5. Food and Drink
Another top tip for visiting London’s Harry Potter Studio is to arrive hungry. Chocolate Frog Café serves a selection of sweets and treats, and it would be a crime against the wizarding world not to buy a butterbeer at The Backlot Café. You won’t want to miss out on the food and drink on offer.
