Ayubia National Park

Ayubia National Park (shortened as Ayubia) is a protected area of 3,312 hectares (8,184 acres) located in Abbottabad District, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, northern Pakistan. It was declared a national park in 1984.  Ayubia was named after the late Muhammad Ayub Khan (1958–1969), second President of Pakistan. The area supports temperate coniferous forest and temperate broadleaf and mixed forest ecoregion habitats, with an average elevation of 8,000 feet (2,400 m) above the sea level. 

Ayubia National Park is surrounded by seven major villages and four small towns of Thandiani, Nathiagali, Ayubia and Khanspur.  The park has been developed as a resort complex from a combination of four mini resorts of Khaira Gali, Changla Gali, Khanspur and Ghora Dhaka in Galyat. Currently, it is managed by the Wildife and Parks Department of Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

History

Ayubia National Park was established in 1984 in an east corner of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, province of Pakistan. In 1998 it was expanded form its original size of 1,684 hectares (4,161 acres)[6] or 16.84 km2 (6.50 sq mi) to 3,312 hectares (8,184 acres). Since then it has been managed by the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Wildlife Department. The purpose of establishing it was to conserve the temperate forests. Originally, the park stood at an area of 857 acres (3.47 km2), but in 1998 it was expanded to cover an area of 1,685 acres (6.82 km2).

The total population of Ayubia and surrounding villages as per a 1996 census is 18,097 living in 2,311 households.

Climate

The climate of the park is cold in the summers, but harsh in the winters. While it remains only placidly hot in May and June, the cold sets in when the monsoons come to lash in late July and early August. In the winters cold increases in severity gradually until the west winds bring rains, which eventually turn into snow. The park remains snow-capped through the later part of winters.

Wildlife

The park holds 104 species of plants. The main floral species are Cedrus deodara, Blue Pine, Yew, Silver Fir, Horse Chestnut and Oak. Around 21 plants here belonging to 19 families are known for their medicinal properties. Many of these are used in treatment of jaundice, stomach ulcers, snake bites, internal infections, diabetes, chambal [disambiguation needed] and more. Some plants are known to have anti-caricogenic effect as well. Also, some are used as biological insecticides and pesticides, mostly due to their insect-repellant nature. The World Wide Fund for Nature has launched an ethno-botanical initiative here "to demonstrate the sustainable use of plant resources as a means for protecting biodiversity."

The park harbors up to 203 species of birds. Many species of birds, including the Golden Eagle, the Vulture, Eurasian Sparrowhawk and the Hill Pigeon among others can be found here. It is also home to some of the rarer Himalayan pheasant species like the Kalij and Koklass Pheasants. Ayubia National Park supports 31 species of mammals. Animals such as the Asiatic Leopard, Hill Fox and Flying Squirrel can be found here.

Management

The park has been managed by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Wildlife Department under the 1975 Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Wildlife Act. The headquarters of the park is at Dunga Gali, which is situated at a distance of 34 km from Abbottabad and 30 km from Murree.National Park started from the behind of Ayubia Chair lift. In National Park walk track near about distance 6 km from Ayubia Chair lift to Dong Gali. Threre are so many beautiful places. it is also sitting arrange on the way when you start from walk Ayubia to Donga Gali in the National Park. 

Tourism 

Standing at some 26 kilometers from the tourist hotbed of Murree Hill Station, over 100,000 tourists flock to Ayubia National Park and the places around every year. It is well known for its picnic spots. 

Since there are 7 villages and 4 major towns around it, and since this area attracts a very large number of tourists annually, there is a large number of hotels and restaurants around the park. In addition to riding trails, hiking places, picnic spots and motels, there is a chairlift in the central place of Ayubia that takes the tourists to a nearby summit for a view of the forested hills. This chairlift was the first recreation facility of its kind in Pakistan and is still a major attraction for domestic tourists. The famous PTDC motel is located here.

Peluang Sinergi Pemerintah dan Startup, Gali Potensi Energi untuk Indonesia

Menurut data yang dirangkum Kementerian ESDM, Indonesia memiliki potensi energi baru terbarukan yang cukup besar. Beberapa di antaranya:

Mini/mikro hidro sebesar 450 MW,

Biomasa sebesar50 GW,

Energi surya sebesar 4,80 kWh/m2/hari,

Energi angin 3-6 m/det,

Energi nuklir 3 GW, dll.

Pemerintah terus bergotong-royong dengan berbagai pihak untuk mengeksplorasi dan mengoptimalkan potensinya. Termasuk membuka kesempatan bagi para inovator dari Indonesia untuk turut serta dalam memanfaatkan Sumber Daya Alam tersebut dalam rangka menyejahterakan rakyat Indonesia. Secara regulasi, pengembangan energi baru terbarukan mengacu pada Perpres No. 5 tahun 2006 tentang Kebijakan Energi Nasional.

Oleh pemerintah melalui Kementerian ESDM atau mitra strategis yang ditunjuk, banyak upaya yang telah dilakukan dan membuahkan hasil. Misalnya agenda menambah kapasitas terpasang pembangkit listrik mikro hidro yang ditargetkan mencapai MW pada tahun 2025, kapasitas terpasang biomasa 180 MW pada tahun 2020, kapasitas terpasang angin sebesar 0,97 GW pada tahun 2025, kapasitas terpasang surya 0,87 GW pada tahun 2024, dan kapasitas terpasang nuklir 4,2 GW pada tahun 2024.

Inovasi pun terus digalakkan termasuk yang terfokus pada lingkungan, seperti pemanfaatan limbah industri pertanian dan kehutanan untuk pengembangan energi biomasa; dan lain sebagainya. Namun sekali lagi, pemerintah tambah serius membuka peluang bagi inovator negeri untuk turut andil dalam memajukan pemanfaatan energi untuk Indonesia. Tak terkecuali bagi startup-startup di bidang teknologi.

Startup dan Dukungan Pemerintah

Dalam kehidupan sehari-hari, di masa sekarang ini, listrik menjadi kebutuhan yang sangat mendasar. Sejauh ini banyak negara di dunia, termasuk Indonesia, memanfaatkan energi fosil sebagai penunjang utama pemenuhan kebutuhan listrik. Sayangnya, pilihan tersebut tidak bisa bertahan lama, energi fosil cepat atau lambat akan habis dan tidak diperbarui. Untuk itu eksplorasi ke energi alternatif menjadi pilihan.

Kementerian ESDM memproyeksikan konsumsi listrik di 2020 mencapai 1.142 kWh/kapita. Dinilai akan terus meningkat seiring penggunaan alat-alat berbasis listrik untuk menggantikan model yang ada sebelumnya – misalnya banyak kendaraan baru yang bertenaga listrik, alat-alat dapur menggunakan listrik, dan lain sebagainya.

Selain upaya yang dilakukan pemerintah seperti yang disebut di atas, beberapa inovator lokal (startup) mulai sajikan inovasi di bidang energi baru terbarukan. Sebut saja yang dilakukan Xurya, sejak tahun 2018 mereka mengembangkan produk panel surya atap. Pendirinya yakin, letak geografis Indonesia di garis khatulistiwa memungkinkan siapa saja memanen energi sinar matahari. 

Selain itu ada Warung Energi, yang fokus menjangkau daerah 3T (tertinggal, terdepan, terluar) di Indonesia dengan inovasi energi baru terbarukan untuk memenuhi kebutuhan masyarakat di sana.

Masih pemanfaatan energi surya, ada beberapa startup yang juga berinovasi di sana, seperti Weston Energy, Forbetric, Erenesia, Khaira Energy, dan Syalendra Power.

Kendati masih di tahap awal, kehadiran para inovator ini menjadi indikasi baik adanya kepedulian publik untuk mengeksplorasi potensi energi di Indonesia. Langkah ini tentu akan menghasilkan dampak yang lebih baik dengan adanya sinergi bersama pemangku kepentingan, dalam hal ini Kementerian ESDM. Isu-isu seperti permodalan dan edukasi publik menjadi kendala fundamental yang dihadapi pelaku startup.

Keseriusan Kementerian ESDM untuk berkolaborasi juga cukup terlihat. Misalnya pada Juni 2020 lalu, mereka mengadakan sesi bersama bertajuk "Diskusi Interaktif Milenial: Startup Energi Bersih Jadi Disrupsi Bisnis Masa Depan". Beberapa pelaku startup dan pemangku kebijakan hadir berdiskusi dan berbagai insight.

Menteri ESDM pun di beberapa kesempatan juga mengatakan keseriusannya mengajak inovator dan mendorong lahirnya startup di bidang energi. "Kita sekarang ini sedang menggodok kebijakan baru mengenai tarif EBT small scale sehingga bisa jadi daya tarik. Tujuannya nanti yang berpartisipasi bisa terbagi masyarakat kecil dan menengah," jelas Menteri ESDM Arifin Tasrif dalam acara Millenial Summit 2020 di Jakarta seperti dikutip IDXChannel. "Cobalah inovasi apapun yang kecil selama itu bermanfaat bagi diri sendiri ataupun bermanfaat untuk masyarakat luas."

Peningkatan konsumsi listrik dan energi lain adalah sebuah keniscayaan. Terlebih di era teknologi seperti saat ini – berbagai unsur dalam kehidupan dan perekonomian memiliki ketergantungan yang tinggi. Keterbukaan pemerintah dengan startup yang menggarap potensi energi baru terbarukan telah menjadi komitmen. Beberapa startup pun telah mulai unjuk gigi. Bagi milenial dengan sejuta ide dan gagasan, ini adalah kesempatan sekaligus tantangan untuk turut serta memajukan bangsa, dengan menawarkan solusi jitu memaksimalkan potensi energi untuk Indonesia.

Visit Ayubia National Park

Ayubia National Park, otherwise called Ayubia, is an ensured zone of 3,312 hectares situated in Abbottabad District, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan. It got a name, national stop in 1984. Park named after Muhammad Ayub Khan (1958–1969), second President of Pakistan.
