All I know about the new descendants movie is osmosis from tumblr and combining that with the media I think of when someone says Alice in Wonderland is making for tbh the movie in my brain is probs very different than what I've heard the new one is like.
And that media is the Royal Ballet's Alice in Wonderland. Its a lovely comic ballet, and my favourite dances are The Mad Hatter's Tea Party (tap! in a ballet! also in this clip played by Steven McRae, who i want to know more about and watch more of his stuff as i have heard good things about from other dancers I know), and the Tart Adage, which is frickin hilarious. (also the way that the King of Hearts just droops around in the background and its like yup. thats Red's dad apparently.)
So uh everyone should watch these clips simply because they're amazing and I love them.

#also i'm aware to an extent that the mad hatter or like his son or something is in the film#but i choose to ignore that character#as my brain already created a mad hatter kid oc and i dont want to part with her or change her#the oc is fully inspired by the ballet's mad hatter#his dancing#tap#and manner#and also colour scheme and outfit#her name is Rhiannon because i like the sound and also can be shortened to Riri which is fun and also the sound of rhi sounds like the end#of mercury#and mercury poisoning in hatters may be like the reason the hatter is the character he is#so fun times#her colour scheme is like a more toned down version of the hatter in the ballet#pinks and greens#with a fashion style that draws from a whole lot of eras from the last century and a half#nearly 200 years really#and also i have this half baked tap routine in my head to ALICE by PEGGY that i adore so that ties in nicely#also idk how much the film used wonderland#or backwards logic but im sure it was not enough#especially with mundane things#Riri shows up on her first day in a 1960s inspired shift dress like oh yeah i wore this because i didnt want to take up too much space in#my luggage#i packed the stuff that would take up the least room#open up her suitcases#eleventy billion petticoats spill out that definitely would take up more room than a shift dress#i love the 60s for her#especially with the wild patterns and colour combos you can see#also twiggy inspired eye looks#descendants#disney descendants

i had my donut stolen by a monkey with its little grabby hands, studied the fonts they use on road signs over there, ate some really good fruit that is either unavailable in the states (蓮霧) or just Not The Same (buddha's head), HAD SOME RANDOM GUY CLAIMING TO BE A JOURNALIST COME UP TO ME AND GIVE ME HIS CALLING CARD AND INSIST I CALL HIM IF I EVER GOT IN TROUBLE WITH THE POLICE??, executed Tumblr Code In Real Life when i met up with a Beloved Mutual for the first time and had like this ginormous smoothie like a whole fucking goblet just a massive smoothie chalice at the cafe we hung out in, rode the train AND the subway a couple times, tried to look up a bunch of music ultimately too obscure to be found by the shazam app, photographed several dozen flowers, and then seem to have left my school ID behind after i had to hang my jacket out to dry the night before we left c':
#asks#hamburger--time#also recorded the garbage trucks singing their little songs a couple times to prove to my other friends they sing#it was nice to see the relatives too now that i'm older n can recognize them or keep track of them better#apparently i look more like my mom's side of the family which i can Kind of see but i'm not that good at spotting these things#also i let my sister use my mobile hotspot bc my temp simcard had unlimited data but she was just repeatedly paying#extra for more data on her e-simcard which is how i discovered tiktok uses like 2gb of data an HOUR to use#COULD NOT BE ME.... oh but we stayed in this place called the 'STRAWBERRY MILK HOSTEL' for a bit (草莓牛奶民宿) which was v cute#and then customs back into america was wild bc they just checked our passports n our pictures n let us go#they didn't even check our luggage for contraband food or anything. tsa was also definitely shorter since i was a kid#at least the id thing isn't a huge deal since it's just a school id n i can go get a new one at the information desk c':

Feeling like the personification of anxiety today at having to hop on a plane and go see the people who think randomly verbally abusing me and bitching at me about how much they hate their spouse is peak conversation, but on the bright side I went to take out the trash earlier and it was so cold out I could see my breath and I felt like a dragon

Okay task completed. I also bought a new “work bag” which will totally be used for work and not smuggling my stuff out of the house bit-by-bit.
#I was worried about how much stuff I’d be able to get out per trip with my other bag#because that’s more of a midsize tote bag#This one is a giant duffel bag with metal feet on the bottom. Five dollars for an old couch with handles; can’t be beat.#Conspicuous? Yes. This is a memory
So the lyrics on it kinda just wanted to put something there-- I also posting this for myself mostly
#There is this moment that I thought about#and for some reason its one of my favorite moments that always makes me feel warm and nostalgic#It was this one time I was planing to stay over at one of my friends hous.#It was winter and we needed to leave the dorms early since kids were going to stay in our rooms and they needed to clean them up#It was an extremely cold morning and I had to walk to their house with my luggage that was pretty heavy-#it was really shit- counting in the fact that I was only able to get 2 hours of sleep in for some reason I dont remember-#and I remembered that I got to their house around 8 am and my friend let me in#but she's not really the morning person so they were also really out of it#and I was freezing and inside it was good yes but#then we went back into her room and she suggested we go back to sleep and we did that#and so this friend and I are cuddling a lot#whenever we are together we're really cuddly and affectionate in school too#even some of the people outside of our class thought we were dating- (which we never will)#and obviously this time too#and we actually have the same blanket that is grey and has white stars on it#which let through the outside lights unlike the grey fluffy fabric#And i'm a relatively small person with my 5'2 for height#and they hugged me so that I was snuggled up below their head above their chest and I pulled my legs up to my chest to be even smaller#and she draped the blanket on us in a way that my head was under the blanket#and I could see the white stars letting through the warm cozy sunlight that the shutters on her window above the bed barely let in#and everything smells so nice and warm and my still cold body was starting to feel#this comfortable nice bedsheet warmth along with the other person's body heat and god I fell asleep so quickly#Both of us did and so our other friend couldn't reach us#and had to walk around for (if I remember correctly) half an hour before we woke up and let him in#clowning ∆#Spotify
