Shuffling my library of digital music tracks and listing the first 20 songs:

I believe there is an algorithm that sorts songs to be shuffled, in my music player.

It doesn't seem to be true randomness. It may be choosing songs that "link" together by some metric, end-to-beginning. I notice how much they carry a certain tune, though I have a lot of different music. Whenever I start on a certain note, it carries the note. It matters what the starting seed is.

A return to my short-lived indie phase today with Fleet Foxes. That's where I first discovered them anyways, with the track Battery Kinzie, not on this album. A few years later I would sing White Winter Hymnal for chorus, which lead me to that track from this album.

Entirely fantastic through and through, resulting in the first 10 this month. Every single song on this album is absolutely beautiful, with these slightly echoey voices that balance so well with the instrumentation. Also just a good fit for my mood tonight, considering its mellow nature. Very folky, which probably won't suit everyone, but personally I love it. It was hard enough to single out a favorite track here, so going with my now-established rule for 10s and not listing other favorites.
