Oh this just leads into my favorite Witch headcanon which is that I think she loves winter. Sure she has familial ties to summer and whatever but she loves winter, loves warm drinks, and fluffy coats, and bundling up, and snow! OH MY GOD She loves snow.

You hold your hand out to catch a falling snowflake, as Price lights his cigar. The crystalline structure bends and melts on your warm skin. You light up like he's never seen you before.

Price doesn't see what the big deal is, a little frozen water, he sees it all the time. It's nothing spectacular. The city hardly gets enough snow to call a blanket. It gets cold though, cold enough most people would complain about walking through it. He would've thought with all your bonds to summer you'd be more susceptible to chill, but you hardly seem bothered.

Maybe it's your coat, there must be some sort of heat spell on it. Runes hidden in the sherpa lining, he can't see any on the outside of it marring the soft cream color. It doesn't feel magical.

But that's not true, is it? It does feel like magic to watch you push your hood off your head and cup your hands to warm them with your breath. To have you look at him and announce, "It's snowing!" All your summer warmth still shining in your smile. The fog of your breath puffs out excitedly. It curls with his smoke, holds onto it affectionately. You look up to the sky, the gently falling snow, and laugh when the freeze hits your cheeks.

Price looks up at the grey sky, the gentle drift of snow from the clouds, it's almost nostalgic. How can this little storm make you so happy? You have a whole season of snow on your back step. Shouldn't you be as tired of it as he is?

"Have you ever been through Winter?" He asks, watching you pull gloves from your pocket. You wiggle your fingers into the pink knit and shake your head.

"Just that one time, I've never had a reason to go through the wild. Besides, its dangerous without an escort," You hum, and start your walk again. He's quick to grab your hand and tug your down the first alley. You make a small noise of protest but follow without complaint. Achingly trusting. It squeezes tight in Price's chest, you put yourself in his hands without question it seems. What has he ever done to deserve that? (Nothing good)

He feels the streets molding to his will, feels the path straighten out turns as he pulls you further down the narrow alley towards the white glittering snow of winter. You stop short at the edge of the forest, the tumble of snow onto cobblestone just brushing your boots.

"Where are we going?" Finally suspicion edges your voice, it's good to hear.

"I'm walking you home," You narrow your eyes at him, "Your home." He clarifies. Unease clouds your features for a brief moment before you take a tentative step onto the snow. It crunches beautifully under your feet, and you bite down a smile.

It's not a long walk, it doesn't have to be, but you keep stopping. You crouch to gather snow between your hands, to build up little walls, tiny snowmen, or simply laying in the snow when the mood seizes you. Price offers a hand to pull you to your feet after one such mood, watching you giggle and brush the snow off of your back.

You're gorgeous, cheeks flushed from the cold, eyes sparkling, your every breath wraps around him with thanks. If he'd known you were such a fan of winter he would've brought you out here ages ago. Although ages ago you wouldn't have trusted him enough to let him.

"I know this is probably taking longer than you wanted," You tilt your head forwards as he brushes the snow from your hood, "It's silly but I haven't seen snow like this since I was a kid."

"I don't mind." Really he doesn't, it's a treat seeing you enjoy yourself like this. You're usually so serious, so intent about everything. Seeing you play is refreshing. You don't let go of his hand as you walk. Price considers stretching out the path a little longer until he sees you shiver. Your free hand tugs your scarf over your nose, not so warm as you were at the start. Best to get you home before the cold ruins this for you.

Your smile doesn't dim as you lean against him, sharing warmth as you walk. The snow isnt deep, but you still cling to him like you need the help to get through it. You almost seem reluctant to return to your cozy patch of summer, stalling at your garden gate. Price snuffs his cigar on the garden wall while you kick your feet.

"C'mere," he turns you to face him, settles his hands on your waist and lifts. Your hands scramble to hold onto his shoulders as he lifts you up and over the brick wall. You pull up your feet to keep from bumping against the brick, before settling gently in the warm dirt of your garden.

"Thank you," you breathe and he feels the warmth of a tether hooking in his chest. One favor for another as always. Although again, you weigh the values wrong. Walking you home, seeing your unabashed joy for his season, he should be thanking you. It's your gift, but he has no intention of paying it back. Not when the tie it creates is so warm, so careful, so intent.

"My pleasure," he tells you, his hands sliding from your waist to press against the wall. Your threshold parts for him like an old friend when he leans over it. Your fingers hold his face, tentative but wanting, threading through his beard as you lean in and kiss him. Soft and sweet, and still biting with winter's chill. His absolute pleasure.

I remember the picture of Rhett’s room with all the blankets and you just posted that he would bring a lot of plaid blankets with him which makes me wonder, is he a blanket hoarder? He steals all the blankets, the ones draped across the couch usually ends us wrapped around him. Does he build a blanket fort with us? Does he pick up a new blanket from his quick grocery run that he needed to have?

You have no idea how perfect the timing of this is. Right before you sent this, I was looking at that picture 😭 Rhett is absolutely a blanket hoarder!

He started doing it when he was little because Perry would take all of them from the closet when it started getting colder, and Wyoming nights are brutal when the heating is going out, and your house has poor insulation. He'd start darting around the house, shoving them into the corners of his closet and snuggling up when it got cold out.

Now he just attracts to them out of habit, when did he pick up your favorite blanket from the couch? He hasn't the slightest clue, but he's been snuggled up with it for an hour now. But it's not a house-only sort of thing.

He buys so many blankets.

Every color, pattern, holiday, and season. Fleece, cotton, wool, knit, sherpa, plush, quilt, electric, weighted, odd shapes and patterns. It's gotten a little bit ridiculous at this point. Every time he goes shopping alone, he's pretty much guaranteed to return with one that you somehow don't own yet. As of right now, his favorite blanket is a giant pink and white cow print that you gifted him for his birthday. It was supposed to be black and white, but they mistakenly shipped pink, and Rhett absolutely adored it.

He loves to make nests out of the smaller ones, these little round amalgamations of clashing blankets that could very well serve as an extra bed, while he reserves the oversized blankets to go overtop chairs and the sides of the couch. He doesn't just make a blanket fort; it's a whole damn palace 🤍 But do not be fooled; he absolutely notices if one goes missing.

You could spend all day curled up in your chair like this: a knitted throw draped over your lap with a steaming mug of hot chocolate warming your hands as you gaze out the window. The view from the cabin you and Flip are renting for the week of Hanukkah is beautiful; snow blankets the surrounding forest and the Colorado mountains tower in the distance. However, you’re currently more interested in the foreground. Outside, Flip brings his ax down yet again to cleave a piece of wood in two, adding the logs to a growing pile. It’s a wonder to watch him work, all muscle and momentum as he splits firewood for you. You take another sip of cocoa as he finishes his task and gathers up an armful of wood to take inside.

A blast of icy air rushes in as he opens the front door and you pull your blanket up around you. Flip has a wash of color on his cheeks from the cold as he takes off his boots and hangs up his sherpa-lined jacket.

“Hi, baby” he smiles, taking in the sight of you where you’re all snuggled up. “You staying warm?” 

“All thanks to you,” you chime as he crosses the living room to deposit the wood next to the hearth and adds a few logs to the fire.

Satisfied with the blaze, he stretches out on the faux fur rug in front of the fireplace and pats on the floor next to him. “C’mere,” he says, eyes growing dark. “Let’s get you really warmed up.”

I was asked by a friend to make a wishlist of things that help me cope with sensory issues, anxiety, and/or other unpleasant side-effects of being autistic, bc she has a new DIL who is autistic and who has a birthday coming up.

In the interest of helping anyone who might be shopping for someone with similar issues, I thought I’d post it publicly & idk maybe other people can chime in? This is just what has generally helped me, personally.

Weighted stuffed animals

Weighted blankets (I like the knit ones, personally)

Soft throw blankets (idk about anyone else, but that specifically excludes sherpa, for me)

Fidget toys

High-quality socks (or slippers)

Wide- or no-collar shirts

Tiny spoons (again, maybe just a me thing?)

Tiny forks (again, might be just me?)

Wearable or otherwise subtle fidget items

A really, really good vacuum that picks up crumbs well (esp if she has hardwood, tile, or laminate floors and/or a cat - litter on the floor is the #1 way to drive me insane)

Dishwashing gloves (the thick, reusable kind)

A waterproof or water-resistant apron, that covers the chest area

A silicone body scrubber with soft bristles (I’m serious, SO much better than a loofah or a rag)

A silicone shampoo brush

Non-metal cooking utensils (I prefer silicone, personally, but wood also works)

A wedge pillow set that has a knee pillow (it keeps me from sleeping in positions that make my arm go numb, and I sleep deeper, personally)

A high-quality, scent-free lotion (I personally like Vanicream, but there’s a dozen brands out there that also work and don’t leave your skin waxy or smelly)

sniper's loft bed headcanons pls 👁️👁️

omg.,., ehehe.,., i’m soo glad you asked this is something i am Not at All Insane About.,., ehee.,., and i actually think its probably for the best that i elaborate on this here since there really isn’t a graceful way to fit posts like this within a fic SKDFKSD so!! let’s get to it! starting off by saying i’ve been in and out of motorhomes, trucks with camper shells, vans, etc my entire life (though i would be doing it a lot more in my adult life if i could find ways to not have Every Bug On Earth eat me alive ;_; gwah!) so i guess i’m just a little biased for what i see In My Mind. i have yet to sketch out/floorplan out sniper’s van layout itself In My Mind but let’s just keep it vague enough to say it’s nothing flashy, but it’s cozy and Aged and… lived in! i’ve talked about it before in one of my Many headcanon posts but i think he was always taught that he doesn’t need material things and while i wouldn’t say he’s a hoarder by any means, i think he tries to convince himself everything in his home has a Practical Application just so he can justify hanging onto it! i think sniper is v sentimental and the stuff he chooses to keep might be a little “unconventional” by average standards (ie he doesn’t have lots of photos of his family, but kept his mum’s handmade quilts and his dad’s old knife and hunting rifle. also presses flowers and would keep the eggshell of when he and medic first ate breakfast in bed together, etc) but i could ALSO make a whole other post about just little knicknacks i think you’d find in sniper’s home at any given time HEHE… but i’m doing my best to stay on track so!!

i’m going to preface this with IM SORRY for the “pinterest looking ass” photos to describe what i’m talking about but just use this as a Basic Jumping Off Point. Not as the Literal Visual. work with me here… so i think sniper’s bed has LOTS of pillows and blankets. if you’ve ever slept in one of those loft bed camper van beds you’d know that those walls are cold and hard and don’t really hold heat in all that well! i think the blankets are a combination of furs he has (though he rolls up and stores them when its hot out), sherpa/wool, knit blankets and quilts, etc. all of different sizes and weights. whatever makes him comfortable! pillows are extremely worn in (as are the blankets; you could find lots of mends on them!) and comfortable just the way sniper likes them. i think he has so many layers because he sleeps naked and likes to be able to adjust what parts of his body are covered and what parts aren’t. he’s the king of sticking one of those loooong legs out of the covers, or having only his tummy covered and the rest of him exposed, etc! he likes being able to change things quickly to suit his needs. this is also great for draping something over his shoulders when he’s laying out on top of his van at night watching the stars or sitting in a lawn chair feeding hoots!

the space is small, so i think he’d also have a “nightstand” which really is just a “coffeetable book” (ie a big-ish hard cover book) of some subject he’s interested in that he’d keep pressed against the “long wall” of the camper that has just a battery-powered plastic lantern (for reading before bed ehe) on it, a worn-out old book of poetry or some kind of book he’s read a thousand times that he likes skimming before bed (this is not to be confused with the Utility Books he reads at others times about survivalism, gun cleaning, etc. this is a Wind Down Specific book), and aheh, when he starts really falling for medic, something else too… but i’ll discuss that later in my fics! ;-) if i’m being really self-indulgent i think he also has a stuffed animal from his childhood that he’s still hung onto all these years, but he keeps him stored away safely in a pillowcase because he doesn’t want it getting lost or damaged! :’( also he’s just a huge cuddlebug imo, so he likes having things he can Grab or fling his leg or arm over in his sleep (pillows, bunched up blankets, etc)! the space is small but he makes it very homey! HEHEHE

December 7th Drarry Drabble: "Blankets"

Tags: Uhm, really, none, it's fluuuuuuff about Drarry and blankets and being cosy. I'll gift it to my hedgehog @basicallyahedgehog because they always have a blanket for me when I'm in need of one. Hope that's OK. Also, Harry is most likely an Auror or works for the DMLE in some form. Draco may be a Curse Breaker or has the skills for it, but he also loves reading and being artistic. Again, it's fluff. Just my dorky boys being sweet together.

Draco had a rather unhealthy obsession with blankets though he was loath to admit that, and anyone who tried calling him out on it usually got intimately acquainted with one of Draco’s perfectly aimed stinging hexes. He never missed.

To start with, there was the grey solid fluffy blanket he kept near his favourite armchair by the fireplace and the sage sherpa fleece one that added an extra layer of warmth on cold winter nights. Draco often used it in spring and autumn as he liked feeling toasty at night. Harry throwing heat like a furnace certainly helped, but Draco still loved his thick sherpa fleece blanket. Especially because occasionally, there were nights when Harry was busy with work and Draco went to bed alone.

Colour-wise, the Gryffindor-red chunky knit blanket with its golden edges wasn’t exactly Draco’s favourite, but he still used it when he curled up by the window to sketch. Molly Weasley had made it for Harry after Gin had introduced her to the chunky wool, but Draco had quickly claimed it. While Harry had yet to comment on his blanket theft, he often joked about the colours. It always made Draco frown, and while Harry’s taunts were vexing, they weren’t annoying enough for Draco to sacrifice his cocoon of warmth to retaliate with a stinging hex.

Then there was the white cotton cellular blanket his mother had used to keep him warm when he’d been a baby; Draco still had it. He kept it in a box on the top shelf of Harry’s and his walk-in closet. A part of him hoped to one day use it to swaddle his own child, but that was a conversation Harry, and he had yet to have. For now, Draco didn’t feel brave enough to bring it up. Even though Draco was sure that Harry would agree to them starting a family together, it was easier to joke about it than sit Harry down and tell him that he wanted a child of his own.

Today, however, Draco dragged his weighted blanket over to the sofa and hid underneath it. He’d pulled it up to his neck and had no intention of emerging from underneath. Harry had made hot chocolate with extra marshmallows, whipped cream, and chocolate sprinkles, and while the drink was divine and warmed Draco up from the inside, he still didn’t feel like he was ready to throw off his weighted blanket. Even with Harry sitting on the floor beside the sofa to keep him company, Draco relished the calm feeling the blanket gave him.

Harry had summoned Draco’s teal faux mink fur blanket a while ago, and the colour made his eyes pop. He’d also slipped his hand underneath the blanket to hold Draco’s hand, and Draco had yet to let go. Harry’s grip was firm and grounding, and Draco liked toying with Harry’s fingers. Harry didn’t mind. He was the perfect companion, and Draco loved him all the more for it, which is why he craned his neck to plant a lingering kiss on Harry’s cheek.

Harry turned his head and smiled.

“Hello there,” he murmured.

His husky voice was deeply comforting, and Draco smiled.

“Wanna read to me?” he asked.

Harry grinned.

“You sure you want to listen to me drone on about Advanced Auror Field Techniques?”

Draco shrugged.

“You could read a cookbook or the ABC, and I’d listen,” he said.

Harry laughed.

“Well, OK then. This chapter discusses a holistic approach to suspect apprehension, and while the author makes some good points, I don’t think they’ve ever detained anyone in their life. But if I can sit through a forty-eight-hour stakeout, I can cope with this piffle. I may lose a few brain cells, so I will need you to teach me some advanced curse-breaking magic when I’m done.”

Draco grinned.

“You got it, Potter.”
