Electronic Message Centers: Revolutionizing Business Signage
In today’s fast-paced, technology-driven world, businesses are constantly seeking innovative ways to capture attention and communicate effectively with their audience. Electronic Message Centers (EMCs) have emerged as a dynamic solution to meet these needs, offering versatility, engagement, and real-time updates. This blog delves into the benefits and applications of EMCs, and why they are becoming an essential tool for modern businesses.
What are Electronic Message Centers?
Electronic Message Centers are digital displays that use LED technology to showcase messages, advertisements, and information. Unlike traditional static signs, EMCs can be programmed to display a variety of content, including text, images, animations, and videos. This flexibility allows businesses to convey multiple messages and update their content instantly based on current promotions, events, or important announcements.
Benefits of Electronic Message Centers
Dynamic Content Display: One of the most significant advantages of EMCs is their ability to display dynamic content. Businesses can easily change messages, images, and videos to keep their audience engaged. This capability is particularly useful for promoting special offers, sales events, or new products. The ability to rotate messages ensures that your display remains fresh and relevant, capturing the attention of passersby.
Real-Time Updates: EMCs allow for real-time updates, which is crucial for businesses that need to communicate timely information. For instance, a restaurant can update its menu specials or operating hours, while a retail store can announce flash sales or store events. The ease of updating content means businesses can respond quickly to changing conditions or customer needs.
Enhanced Visibility: The bright, high-resolution displays of EMCs ensure high visibility, even in low-light conditions or adverse weather. This makes them highly effective for attracting attention from a distance and standing out in a crowded marketplace. Their ability to display vibrant colors and moving graphics further enhances their impact.
Cost-Effective Advertising: While the initial investment in an EMC may be higher than traditional signage, the long-term benefits often outweigh the costs. With EMCs, businesses can avoid the recurring expenses of printing and installing new signs. The flexibility to change messages digitally means that businesses can adapt their advertising strategies without additional costs.
Increased Engagement: Interactive features and engaging content displayed on EMCs can drive customer interaction. For example, businesses can run social media promotions, interactive polls, or contests that encourage audience participation. This not only enhances customer engagement but also fosters a sense of community around the brand.
Tumblr media
Applications of Electronic Message Centers
Retail Stores: Retailers can use EMCs to showcase promotions, sales, and new arrivals. The ability to update content frequently ensures that customers are always informed about the latest offers. Additionally, EMCs can be used to highlight customer testimonials or loyalty program updates.
Restaurants: For restaurants, EMCs can display daily specials, menu items, and nutritional information. The visual appeal of moving graphics can entice customers and create a more inviting atmosphere.
Educational Institutions: Schools and universities can use EMCs to communicate important announcements, event schedules, and emergency alerts. The ability to display educational content and news updates helps keep students, staff, and visitors informed.
Event Venues: Event venues can utilize EMCs to promote upcoming events, ticket availability, and venue information. The versatility of EMCs allows for creative and eye-catching displays that enhance the overall event experience.
Public Information: EMCs in public spaces can provide important information such as weather updates, public transportation schedules, and emergency alerts. Their visibility ensures that critical information reaches a wide audience effectively.
Conclusion
Electronic Message Centers represent a significant advancement in signage technology, offering businesses a powerful tool to communicate dynamically and effectively. With their ability to display engaging content, provide real-time updates, and enhance visibility, EMCs are an invaluable asset for any business looking to make a strong impression and stay connected with their audience. As technology continues to evolve, the potential applications and benefits of EMCs will only grow, solidifying their role as a cornerstone of modern business signage. Since some of you asked:
How (XD) Cipher represents the concept of shadow
Lovrina is a young woman - as suggested by her appearance and speech patterns - and scientist with great potential. While XD001 wasn't quite perfect (the S.S. Libra incident + able to be purified if all nine Sets of the Purify Chamber are at maximum tempo), its creation is a remarkable feat on Lovrina's part, especially since we see neither Ein nor Krane nor anyone else help her. Yet she's already slipping into the same cruel mindset as her predecessor, focusing on her research goals and results above anything else and not caring about the pain she causes the Pokémon and people around her; she goes as far as to threaten her own brother with violence. She's setting herself up to continue down a dark path, wasting her potential like Ein did.
Snattle is a politician who seemingly has no true goals and convictions of his own, as he never mentions any concrete plans or opinions he has or things he'd change. He cares only about his reputation, ambition and the position of governor itself, not what it represents and the great responsibility that would come with it; he's serving himself, not the people of Orre. His statement that Greevil promised him the position implies that Snattle was going to be a puppet governor in service of Cipher, leading the region as its masters saw fit - a shadow government, one might say. Similar to what we saw with Venus in the last part, this makes any power Snattle would gain as governor no longer his own and ultimately meaningless, never a true representative or leader of the region.
Gorigan appears to be a mechanic of sorts and is proud of his "good name and standing", implying that he is - or at least sees himself - as a capable and reliable worker. His appearance and overall demeanor are contrasted by a rather extravagant, luxurious office that he's later encountered in, begging the question if this is even the kind of environment he wants to/enjoys being in. From someone who makes and maintains, he's been reduced to a cheap copy of his rich master, one who sits and watches comfortably and passively while others do the work - work that Gorigan takes pride in and still considers to be his own ("Shadow Pokémon I made"). It appears that he - not unlike Snattle, ironically - has forgotten who and what he's supposed to be, blindly following the master he respects and wants to serve.
Ardos is one of Greevil's sons and has followed him down a dark path, to the point of fanaticism. Whether he did this out of love, obligation, ambition, a desire to be accepted, whatever else, the result remains the same: A deeply twisted man who is ready and willing to commit mass murder, including his own people and an innocent child, to ensure Cipher's survival. Yet there are hints that Ardos, even if he's too far gone now, wasn't always like this: He was the one who stepped in to save Michael and Jovi in Gateon Port and who took initiative. Despite Ardos' own claims that this was done only for the sake of Cipher, one may wonder if, deep down, has a sliver of the same protective instinct that we see in Eldes - if he could have been or at one point was more like his kinder, gentler brother.
Eldes is Greevil's other son and a unique case among the Cipher Admins, not only morally conflicted, but also a good person deep down. He gives Michael pretty solid advice - encouraging him to question his own motives without lecturing or belittling him - and saves his life at the end of the game, even thanking him for defeating Cipher. The way in which Eldes is a mere shadow of who he could be is as different from his peers as it is evident: He's forced to be someone he isn't. He describes his life as a Cipher Admin as a "nightmare". He laments what his father and brother have become and urges them to remember who they were. He wishes things were different. Yet Eldes apparently feels powerless to either change his circumstances or escape them, and so he stays and continues to live in the nightmare, until Michael finally helps him wake up.
Greevil is Cipher's ultimate boss (for real this time, we promise). He reveals to Michael that he wants to create an army of Shadow Pokémon who work independently and only on his orders, so that he doesn't need to rely on "bothersome people" anymore - a stance that becomes even more messed up if you consider that he's a father. And that his children call him Grand Master. This is one of Greevil's greatest failings: That he, as Eldes puts it, "got carried away by this whole Grand Master nonsense". Instead of the father he's supposed to be, both to his sons and perhaps even to others in some way (by using his wealth and influence in a nurturing and productive manner), Greevil has become an emotionally distant master who values the people around him according to their usefulness, obedience and loyalty, not the bonds he once shared with them.
(Aside from that, Greevil is also maintaining the persona of Mr. Verich, but since we've discussed this theme in Evice's section I felt like focusing on the family aspect was more interesting here.)

Kogi United appoints new coach
Tumblr media
Kogi United have secured the services of former Apex Krane manager Yusuf Salihu as its new chief coach while elevating Chidi Oji to the position of technical adviser for the club. In a brief ceremony held in Lokoja on Monday, Kogi United’s chairman, Abdulmalik Isah, welcomed the new chief coach and urged him to bring his wealth of experience to bear on the club, saying his track record and where he has worked before speak volumes and are the reason for his appointment. The manager of the team, Mallam Tijani Ibrahim, said Yusuf Salihu was appointed from a long list of coaches because of his discipline as someone with military experience and his knowledge of the Nigerian football terrain. He said one basic ingredient that brings results to an organisation is absolute discipline, which he believes the new coach can bring to the team both off and on the field. The new coach thanked the management of the team for finding him worthy to be appointed and promised not to disappoint. Salihu said it’s painful to see a big Club like Kogi United FC pass through difficulties, especially in the league, almost every year. He avowed: “Commitment, loyalty, cohesion, dedication to duty, trust, and a very good working relationship are a few basic ingredients needed by an organisation to produce optimum results, and I promised we would be aggressively determined and dedicated to duty, which will, in turn, yield good and positive results.” He promised to work closely with the technical adviser and other technical staff to ensure that Kogi United takes its rightful place in the Nigerian football circle. The newly promoted technical adviser, Chidi Oji, said the coaching crew will work hard and closely this season to avoid the mistakes of the past. Read the full article

More Lab Rats Headcanons
Other than S-1 & S-3, all of Krane's army were genetically engineered and held in artificial wombs until they were about five years old.
Because genetic engineering is very messy, all the bionic kids have health issues and birth defects that get worse as they grow older. Adam, Bree, Chase, and Daniel are better off because Douglas is very skilled, but Krane's army... not so much. Plus, since I also headcanon that Douglas is abc&d's biological egg donor and that mental illness/neurodivergency runs in the Davenport family, that adds to the problem.
However, Krane was a terrible person, so any bionic child with a condition that left them unable to fight was killed off. Because of this (and because of other deaths), there are what are referred to as "The Lost", those missing numbers such as S-2.
Adam's vision gets worse and worse as time goes on. Using his lazers exacerbates the issue. He gets huge glasses that allow him to see a bit better and Logan, Leo, & Taylor personally beat up anyone who mocks him for it. Taylor helps him navigate the world as a blind person.
Adam also develops joint pain, memory issues, and anxiety/PTSD. The memory issues aren't too severe, he's had them all his life (ADHD), but they do worsen dramatically as he reaches old age. The PTSD & anxiety both really freak him out, because he's so used to being the strong, unbothered one.
Because of all these issues, he eventually gets a service dog.
Bree has hyperflexibility and an extremely fast metabolism, both of which cause her a ton of problems such as joint pain, fatigue, and the occasional migraine.
Chase has chronic back pain, and he develops asthma in his late 30s/40s, all of which eventually make him unable to go on missions. He also has an overactive immune system which leads to problems like allergies, hashimoto's disease, arthritis, etc.
Chase might struggle with type II bipolar disorder, though he doesn't realize it until he's well into his 20s.
EDIT: I'd like to add that Chase, and probably others whose bionics affect their brain chemistry, might have/develop epilepsy (epilepsy is caused by the misfiring of electrical impulses in the brain, Chase has a shitton of wires shoved in there, it makes sense).
Daniel is the worst off. His body has to be able to accommodate a wide range of abilities at a moment's notice, & it takes a huge strain on his systems. He was born HoH, and once his bionics are activated his immune system, metabolism, and joints are soonafter shot to hell. He probably has his "favorite" powers that he sticks to which would influence his issues, so it's difficult to say what he'd struggle with exactly.
The bionic academy has classes for the blind and deaf as well as ASL lessons because there is such a large population of Blind & Deaf/HoH individuals.
Because Taylor, Sebastian, and Leo weren't genetically engineered to handle their bionics, they take a bigger toll on their systems. For example, they have to rest after using their bionics, for much longer than the other students do, and they also glitch quite a bit even if they use their capsules.
On that note, Taylor & Sebastian's bionics are similar to Leo's in that they're essentially fancy prosthetics. Unlike Leo, they have a chip, but it acts as a controller for said prosthetics (so that the Triton app could control them).

So, week one of being pursued by Team Cipher went well-ish. I have decided to name the suicune Comet. She doesn't bite me when I call her that, so that must mean she's fine with it. Oh, by the way, Comet is a she. I know because whenever I use gender-neutral or male pronouns for her, she bites me, but not when I use female ones. It seems some pokemon are sexless, but not genderless. We get along mostly fine, except for when she bites me to express displeasure with something, which seems to be the only emotion she ever has, other than battle-frenzy. She does seem to like headpats, but I genuinely can't tell if it's because she actually enjoys them, or if it's because it puts my hand within optimal biting distance. Incidentally, I happen to be typing this whole post with my right hand. I'm going to need to purify her soon if I want my other hand to survive.
In other news, I got arrested! Turns out, "Here you go, they're your problem now!" isn't a good defense for being caught snagging shadow pokemon in front of an Officer Jenny. Fortunately, I managed to convince her to call Professor Krane, and he cleared things up. Apparently, (overly simplified) by being nice to Comet, I'd gotten the purification process started. Unfortunately, I'm still on the hook for "encouraging dangerous and illegal behaviour" with my original post distributing the snagging app. I really should've seen that one coming.
Even worse, I've been sentenced to 80 hours of community service bringing down team Cipher. Apparently, they're convinced I'm some kind of battling prodigy. I'm really not, I'm just some schmuck who got lucky with a pokeball. I tried asking them to just put me in jail and leave the bringing down a team to someone qualified, but they would have none of it. So, here we are. I think I'm going to look at a guide online and get started building the stalliest team known to 'mon - if I have to suffer through 80 hours of battling, then I'm gonna make damn sure team cipher suffers too.
Also, some important news about the snagging app I distributed in my previous post: The exploits it used got patched, so as of yesterday, it won't work anymore. Props to whoever's in charge of pokesecurity at team Cipher, they work fast! That being said, the goons they sent after me thought this meant I couldn't snag their shadow pokemon - but of course I could! Do they think I've been sitting on my hands all week? Okay, maybe they have a point about my left hand, but I have another one! I won't be distributing the updated version though, both because I don't want to get even more hours of community service added to my sentence, and because I'm pretty sure that having a working example to look at helped team Cipher patch those holes in their security, and I'm done giving them freebies.

NOIR CITY 19 continues today at Oakland's Grand Lake Theatre with two double features, THE ACCUSED (1:00) & THE KILLER THAT STALKED NEW YORK (3:00) and NO WAY OUT (7:00) & THE SNIPER (9:30). Films introduced by FNF prez Eddie Muller. Full festival schedule and tickets available at NoirCity.com
Saturday Matinée • March 26
THE ACCUSED 1:00 PM
Demure college professor Wilma Tuttle (Loretta Young) finds herself in jeopardy after killing an overly amorous student in self-defense. As the noose tightens around her, both the victim's guardian (Robert Cummings) and a dogged homicide detective (Wendell Corey) pursue her. Apparently, being a suspected killer makes Wilma irresistible to men. June Truesdell's 1947 novel Be Still, My Love, adapted by Ketti Frings, puts a decidedly feminine slant on a classic noir premise. It's also the rare noir where both the source novel and the screenplay are the work of women. Frings had a résumé similar to many male colleagues in Hollywood—she'd worked as a newspaper correspondent, ad writer, and PR agent before scoring with her first novel, Hold Back the Dawn, adapted to film in 1941 by Billy Wilder. The Accused is a prescient psychological thriller that presaged "Me Too" by many decades.
1949, Paramount [Library of Congress]. 101 minutes. Screenplay by Ketti Frings, from the novel Be Still, My Love by June Truesdell. Produced by Hal Wallis. Directed by William Dieterle.
Tumblr media
THE KILLER THAT STALKED NEW YORK 3:00 PM
Petty crook Matt Krane (Charles Korvin) returns to New York City from Cuba, using his girlfriend Sheila (Evelyn Keyes) as a mule to smuggle $40,000 worth of diamonds. What he doesn't realize is that Sheila is carrying something more dangerous — smallpox. What Sheila doesn't realize is that Matt plans on double-crossing her, running away with her sister Francie and the jewels. Sheila must elude the police to exact revenge on the two-timing louse, but with every step she threatens to unleash an epidemic that could infect 8,000,000 people. This fictionalized version of a true story was until recently an antiquated curio, a campy time capsule of an earlier era. Well, nobody's laughing now. Part suspenseful crime thriller, part Public Service Announcement, The Killer That Stalked New York, beautifully filmed by the great Joseph Biroc, recalls a bygone America, one where citizens trusted each other, the government, and miracles of modern science.
1950, Columbia Pictures [Sony Pictures Classics]. 79 minutes. Screenplay by Harry Essex, from a Cosmopolitan magazine article by Milton Lehman. Produced by Robert Cohn. Directed by Earl McEvoy.
Saturday Evening • March 26
NO WAY OUT 7:00 PM
Tumblr media
Ray and Johnny Biddle, low-life criminals, are wounded trying to rob a gas station. Rushed to the county hospital, they are treated by an African American resident, Dr. Luther Brooks (Sidney Poitier, in his screen debut). Ray, a virulent racist (Richard Widmark, at his most incendiary), refuses to be treated by a black man, and accuses Dr. Brooks of murder when his brother dies. The incident touches off a firestorm that threatens to erupt into an all-out race war. In the middle is Johnny's ex-wife Edie (Linda Darnell), stuck between the ingrained racism of her "Beaver Canal" neighborhood and a growing awareness of a world beyond its confines. Widmark and Poitier give riveting performances, and Darnell quietly steals the show as a woman trying to escape her ignorant upbringing. The Oscar®-nominated screenplay pulls no punches in its squirm-inducing depiction of deep-rooted racism. Brace yourself for a powerful film that, sadly, is as relevant today as the day it was released.
1950, 20th Century–Fox. 106 minutes; Screenplay by Joseph L. Mankiewicz and Lesser Samuels . Produced by Darryl F. Zanuck. Directed by Joseph L. Mankiewicz.
THE SNIPER 9:30 PM
Tumblr media
San Francisco is the backdrop for one of the first movies about a modern serial killer. Decades before such stories became commonplace, husband and wife writers Edward and Edna Anhault researched dozens of actual cases to create this psychological "exposé " of a murderous misfit who wants to be caught but finds it too easy to slip into the margins of a "bustling" post-WWII metropolis. Arthur Franz gives an edgy and empathetic performance as the psychically scarred sniper, whose murderous trail leads viewers on a fascinating tour of midcentury San Francisco — from Pacific Heights through the back alleys of North Beach to once-industrial China Basin. Burnett Guffey's camerawork, moving between shadowy '40s noir and '50s docu-realism, enhances Edward Dmytryk's crisp and compelling direction.
1952, Columbia Pictures [Sony Pictures Classics]. 88 minutes. Screenplay by Harry Brown, from a story by Edward and Edna Anhalt. Produced by Stanley Kramer. Directed by Edward Dmytryk

I haven't really been looking forward to this, to be honest. When I sit in silence and let my mind wander, it just goes right back to my loss. How could it not? I lost my former service dog to aggressive and out-of-nowhere cancer in June, and my cat over a nerve-wracking stretch of a week that led to organ failures. And I moved in between. It's hard to not be utterly disoriented.
This year has really just been nothing but grief. Mourning. And the transformations, the major redirection of life through massive loss. Like removing a giant boulder from the middle of a stream, it affects everything.
I don't know if I'm ready to talk about my loss. Part of me is being self-protective of judgement, which is flat-out fucking stupid. But most of it is genuinely not feeling okay engaging with those feelings at the moment, a.k.a. needing a break from that tingling vacuum feeling in the core of my heart chakra. So... maybe I can take this time to address why I feel like it's not okay to address those feelings. And the judgement. The tangential aspects of how this major loss is affecting me, rather than discuss the loss itself.
For context, I got Max when she was about 2 months old. She was born in the city where I live now, less than a mile away, which was a big part of why I decided to move here. I got her in the summer of 2006 (I think, I'm fairly certain), after I got back from the shitshow that was "living" in Littleton, Colorado. I might be getting my timeline wrong, it might have been 2007, either way. A long fuckin time. We got through a lot together.
I have been tempted to post on support group forums on reddit to... kinda just find people to talk to at a time like this. I told my mom yesterday, after a pretty big misunderstanding, that I really just wanted/needed to be around people. To not be alone, right now. But that's way too much to put on one person who's already very overwhelmed. Needing to be with people is a very strong feeling, and very alien to not be sharing my living space with a living being. I am, to the core, an animal person. Perhaps more than most people that even apply that label to themselves. I have been most of my life. Though at times I may have been naïve, childish and misguided as an adolescent - Kristoff Krane and I share a similar mournful tale on that front - I have tried to view all animals as peers. Peers who simply communicate in less complicated ways, and think/function/live in less complicated ways. We are just a more complex version of the same thing they are. I don't know if that makes sense to someone who didn't divine this concept from its inception, but... yeah. I learned pretty young, in my huge amounts of time alone with animals, to communicate with them in their language. Through their vocalizations, their body language, eye contact, etc. Sure, I'm not an expert behaviorist who has the accumulated training and knowledge of generations... but --- a group of young people is making a bunch of noise in the hallway... it's 1 AM... But, it's a Sunday, so I can chill on that grumpy old man shit. XD --- I don't have a doctorate in animal psychology or behavior, but I've always been pretty good at finding common ground. Maybe it's something I'd like to study, maybe dog training and that kind of thing could be a well-paying thing I do. I definitely have the experience. I was even going to do it... way back in like... 2012? Something like that? And live in a family friend's barn while they trained me in North Carolina... but it just... didn't pan out, I guess?
Why am I talking about this? The kids distracted me... Um... attachment. Yes. Bonding. There it is. Okay, so since I actually... have full-on conversations with animals... and I've spent the majority of my life, the majority of my social interactions with... animals. Not humans... I have built up very close bonds with creatures that people in my own family view as... lesser life forms. Like livestock... Like... living furniture or something. And I deeply struggle with that objectification. I understand that it serves a purpose, but... I do not like it. It inhibits my ability and opportunities to express love, to bond. Merely at the benefit of my own personal emotional protection. And the pain I feel right now, it is because I bonded with her - with both of my girls - at a very deep level. We were family. Through and through. With all the ups and downs, cherished memories and shameful regrets, that come with family.
And yet, I fear speaking in a public forum, asking for support in dealing with this... because I fear someone is going to go... It hurts me to even give this sentiment a voice... "It's just a cat, dude." I've heard it a thousand times. I don't even want to see it written hypothetically here. It makes my stomach turn. And the feeling that would come from reading that? The emotion and sensation that I'm feeling a mild grade of right now? I don't want that. I'm avoiding that. It's like... disgust and anger and peer-pressured shame all blended up into a shitty smoothie. It's like... the opposite of what I'm looking for. So... I've held off. I know it's stupid, really, but... I have. It's been that important for me to avoid that feeling... and knowing what I know about PTSD, it's likely the shame aspect I'm avoiding the most.
I scrolled up to check what else I was going to talk about, to explore. It was the judgement thing... but there was a second thing. I guess it was the avoidance of exploring my loss, her death, here tonight. A big part for me is... kinda trying to control my dream-mindset. My dreams the night before her death were insanely powerful. My dog, Cerry, visited me, she was so surreally vivid. I don't remember the narrative and I really do wish I had written it down, but... it's okay. It's not really a habit anymore. But I know very well how intense reliving that moment that happened just yesterday would be for me. And I do have pretty severe PTSD already. And I'm a very sensitive, emotional person. And I live alone. And I don't have any friends, or anyone to call. So... yeah. With that, I try to be... gentle, and try to not avoid or repress, but gently and kindly redirect to different thoughts, allowing myself to engage with my grief at a different time. I just really need to make sure I have that different time.
The sleep thing I'm being very protective about - I say at 1AM, I really need to go to bed like... ASAP - because I have that doctor's appointment intake on Monday. 8AM. Last night, I fell asleep watching Twitch, then didn't get to bed-bed until... about 4:30. Now it's 1. Sleep has been a bit rough. So... I just... I'm gonna do the best I can, but getting my ass in bed before midnight is just... super rare. So I'm really trying to preserve quality of sleep the best I can, to improve my chances of making that appointment.
A lot of these sacrifices, and strategies, etc. are adaptations to extended periods of isolation. Like... if I had a girlfriend... and I woke up from a night terror bawling my eyes out, like I do sometimes, especially when grieving... I would feel much more okay with that. She would comfort me, and hold me, and we would find the good and the love in the haunting memory. And take a painful moment and transmute it into love, into bonding. And of course I would do the same for her. But. When you wake up from a night terror alone? When there's no one there? That's another monster. Especially when you don't even have anyone to call. It's just you waking up and crying, scared, mortified, wanting to scream in anguish. And just... being in that moment. Like... a survivor in a post-apocalypse movie. God... like... I Am Legend, right? I only saw it once, wasn't that part of it? I don't want to spoil it for anyone who hasn't seen it, so just skip to the next paragraph it you don't want spoilers but like... didn't his dog die? And there was like a whole grieving process, and he's like... completely alone now? THAT is the kind of thing I've been dealing with for like 5 years now. Sam, right? I remember the emotions around having watched that, despite being much more detached from my emotions back then. I looked up the Wikipedia entry for it and yeah, it's pretty spot on... in an exaggerated way, but like... same effect. I just have to take a more... "endure until the emotional storm passes, process, figure out what to do now" approach than... flying off the handle and seeking vengeance. Especially when you can't just go hunt down angiosarcomas and get revenge, you know?
This whole... avoiding dealing with traumatic thoughts until the time and place is right... that thing? It can turn into OCD real fuckin quick. But yeah, I have some pretty clear-cut examples of avoidance rituals in my family. I'm not perfect, but I've made insane progress considering where I came from. The things I'm struggling with the most are... the bathroom bath mat. Where she was hiding and spent most of the day on her last day. And when I'm doing yoga, I keep expecting to feel her nose up against me. There's that sinking vortex in the chest feeling again. Grief. Loss. Mourning. I don't cherish the bathmat memory, that one is very hard and I have to encounter it every time I pee. That's my ghost in the dark haunted bathroom. The yoga one is more cute, like a Casper ghost. But still hard.
That's as much as I want to talk about that right now. It's just too fresh, honestly. I want to fondly share her memory, I love her so so much. But it's still very recent, and the scary and disturbing images from her last moments come back a lot too right now, so... I really don't want to go there right now.
I'm going to go to bed. But real quick...
I always loved horror movies, especially psychological horror and supernatural horror. Like... Donnie Darko, and Coherence, and Triangle, Paranormal Activity, stuff like that. And post apocalyptic stuff too. I think in a lot of ways I found it... relatable. Even if I didn't know it at the time. Those movies/stories are always - and I've been saying this for like... over 15 years now - about the human condition. Night of the Living Dead was never about zombies, it's about the survivors. Paranormal Activity isn't about the ghost/demon, it's about Katie and Micah. Coherence isn't about time fuckery, it's about the choices the characters made in that world, in that situation. These are tales about how people choose to act in difficult situations. Perhaps advisory, perhaps cautionary. Maybe just... observational. It's really up to you what to do with them, what they mean to you. And these horror movie allegories have helped me a lot as metaphors to make sense of a lot of my mental health. When you've lost everything? You're a post-apocalyptic survivor. Check out those movies and look for a good role model, and beware the bad ones, which can display common pitfalls we can sink into in those situations. When you're grieving? Watch a haunted house movie. Sometimes you're the ghost, sometimes you're the one living in the house. The vibe is just... usually very familiar. Like... Mike Flanagan's ghost movies are super vivid and accurate representations of grief and loss, often like... blatantly obvious. And I have found them helpful.
Maybe it would be good for me to try to write a short horror piece of some kind. A short story? A graphic novel kinda thing? Maybe it could be a good way to process my grief. I'll put a pin in it. 1:30 means late for bed.

Furthermore, the company have another order on the way: an F820RA.2.25 xhe-dynamic to be installed on a Volvo FH540 6x4 tractor unit. The impressive lifting capacity of this crane (almost 72 tm) will enable to company to lift more than previously and undertake larger haulage work since it has been specified to be able to carry the majority of installed bases of static crushers in the domestic market. The company also uses these truck-mounted cranes on a daily basis across the UK to complete crusher liner changes and repairs/service work.
