I take back what I said last time about Nanami’s band, HER FRIENDS ARE AMAZING ! They were all suffering from not being able to play their own music and now they’re ALL willing to fight for their dreams and they are going to fight TOGETHER

This anime not only brought us “world-reknowned tactician deciding that the best way to world peace is to promote a young songstress after hearing her sing once”, “club owner being the proud and supportive weird adopted dad Eiko deserves”, “Eiko and Nanami being total lesbians and music soulmates” but also “NANAMI HAVING THE BEST FRIENDS THERE CAN BE AND ALL THREE OF THEM JUST LOVING EACH OTHER AND PLAYING TOGETHER”

This may not be the best anime this season but man is it special. I love it !

Yuletide 2022 - Oops, all Kongming!

Each Yuletide, I try to write a decent-length assignment fic, plus at least a couple of treats. This year, I set myself a specific, somewhat silly challenge—having been assigned a Zhuge Liang-related fandom (Red Cliff), having requested another (Ya Boy Kongming!), and having learned of his presence in yet another very unexpected one (Giant Robo: The Day The Earth Stood Still), I decided to write something for all of them.

Zhou Yu wants to invite him to sit at the qin again, part of him convinced that if they play together, this man who is doing his best to be unknowable would be made known to him again, if only for a moment.

In a response to a delightful prompt that I was so keen to write for I started writing this fic as a treat before it was even assigned to me, here is a fic featuring a Zhuge Liang reluctant to give in to his feelings, oodles of qin sex, and Xiao Qiao doing her best to get her husband to hook up with his crush. It was wonderfully well-received and I’m very pleased. :D

Nanami's producer still doesn't want her and Eiko hanging out, which is putting a damper on Eiko's crush. As usual, however, Kongming has a plan to help!

It’s okay, Kongming has successfully manipulated public sentiment about a relationship before! So he sets up a fake dating scheme to allow Eiko and Nanami to meet with each other. Everyone is definitely going to be all right with it! I enjoyed tying this story into Three Kingdoms lore just like canon does (and hinting a little bit at some Zhuge Liang/Zhou Yu for this timeline too!)

Dis/Trust - Giant Robo: The Day The Earth Stood Still, Hanzui & Shokatsu Komei, 378 words, G

Unfortunately, Komei is trusted.

Giant Robo was an entirely new fandom to me, and I was blown away that such an anime blending mecha with wuxia and super spies even existed. I had a marvelous time, and the idea of a villainous Komei/Kongming was fascinating! He suffers a bit from the series setting up for a sequel that never happened, so everything is going to precisely what plan, Komei? But I was able to hammer out a little bit of Hanzui wondering the same thing about a Komei who appears to be just as devoted and trusted as the traditional one, albeit working towards villainous world domination. Probably.

I don’t think I missed a Kongming in there, but if there was a fandom I overlooked, let me know and I’ll do a NYR about it! :D

Utaimakuri ♪ Party Time! event artwork by Paripi Koumei anime character designer, Sekiguchi Kanami, will be featured on a set of postcards to be given to new Animax subscribers in a promotion that will last until the end of September.

The Halloween-themed artwork was previously revealed with full-body versions of the characters in costume when the event was announced earlier this month. However, these postcard preview images are the highest-resolution versions we’ve seen so far. 

The live event will be held on September 4th, 2022.
