hey! So next weekend I'll be at L.A Comic-con over in the artist alley at G04!

I'll be m.i.a on the 4th, as I'll be at the NoFx final shows( my friend will be running the booth for me that day. but i will be there on the 5th-6 in full force!

Have you ever met a celebrity before? If so, what was that experience like?

I have met many. Some good and bad experiences.

I have friends who still work in Hollywood, so before I left L.A. for good, it was quite common for me to go to social events with them at the Writer's Guild of America (West) offices, private gatherings, and film festival screenings interacting with famous people (actors, directors, writers, producers etc). What you learn while living around that environment is that all that glitters ain't gold. It's all manufactured business that thrives on feast or famine based on public whims, and stars act accordingly depending on their status as A-listers or D-Listers. People are desperate to find/keep jobs, and self esteem is low for a lot of famous people that you wouldn't believe suffered from it. There are also some amazing celebs who deserve so much more, but they don't get the props they deserve.

My faves in a room have been Robert Townsend, Isaiah Washington, Robert Guillaume (I spent a whole day with him at his house just talking about Black Hollywood history before he passed. He loved Black people and told me stories about Sammy Davis Jr.), Debbie Allen, David Simone (who created "The Wire" and almost hired me for a show), Larenz Tate, Anika Noni Rose, Alan Rickman, Frank Darabont, Mo'Nique, Courtney B. Vance, Queen Latifah, Ava Durvernay, Danny Boyle, Mara Brock Akil, Gina Prince Bythewood, Megan Good, and Jeff Goldblum (with his fine old ass playing piano), Clive Barker, Rachel True, Keith David, and Tony Todd.

The worst I've met: Spike Lee and Bill Cosby. Two unpleasant people. I'll add Neil Gaiman, too. Met him at a few SF/F events through panels I did, and he gave me the ick. Real smarmy fellow, and well...you see where he ended up recently.

Addendum: I forgot to add Nichelle Nichols. Loved her! I told her she needed to charge more money for her fan photos at Comic Con years ago. Told her there was a Black Panel and she came to it!

Matt Smith being No. 1 Rhaenyra loyalist

DAEMON IS MAD, BAD AND DANGEROUS TO KNOW. BUT ABOVE ALL HE’S A FAMILY ORIENTED GUY.

Viserys and Rhaenyra are really the only two people in the whole of the kingdom who Daemon will concede to. He’s got a very strict, almost blind sense of loyalty, oddly. When it comes to those two people, I think he’d really fall on the sword for them. ( AND HE DID 🥹 ) And he likes her.

There’s that family bond that he is so invested in. It really, really matters to him. And probably he feels a certain kinship with her that he’s maybe lost with his brother. It’s always just felt like a very instinctual trust and bond between the two.

Matt said that there’s love between Daemon and Rhaenyra, they make a good couple and Daemon would rather lay in the road for her and his brother so neither him nor Emma understood the choking scene but they had to do it because it was already in the script.

Second round of samples are in! Funkos and holocron are not included. I like the feel of the epoxy charms better but I'm also absolutely enamored with the holographic stars on the dinluke charm. The lanyard? Now I'm pleased with the results, though I feel a little bad for having that stitching run across Luke's face lol.

I'll start working on the shop in earnest after NaNoWriMo and L.A. Comic Con are over, I swear, this project is still moving forward.

Update

I decided to make some adjustments to the mask. There were few parts that was getting on my nerves, especially the nose. I actually had to take it apart (not all luckily) and now I feel it’s more fitted and not too bulky on the jawlines like previously did. Here was the original:

I’m happy to say I’ve completed the whole set and can’t wait it put it on and show it off at the upcoming San Diego Comic Con. And I’ve decided to get ticket to another con at L.A. later in October cause I feel it’s too much of a waste to just wear the cosplay once and never touch it again. Still wondering if I should put it on for Halloween when I go Trick or Treating with my niece and nephew.
