Meet my OC: Head Shepherd Riso

There are several regions on the Island of the Ram, each with a Head Shepherd running it. Riso is the mysterious Head Shepherd of Percitia, Muto's home.

Riso is a somewhat controversial figure, the Head Shepherd of a region often considered "Lion Worshipers" by outsiders due to their unusual interpretation of the story of the Lion and the Lamb.

He is the most physically powerful and ruthless of the Head Shepherds, enacting orders with brutal efficiency, and striking terror in the Shepherds that work under him.

Only his fellow Head Shepherds have seen Riso beneath his uniform, and even then only rarely, so most people have no idea what he looks like.

He also refuses to appoint a Right Hand for unknown reasons, breeding even more tension and derision amongst the court.

His primary ally and advocate is Head Shepherd Morn, and the two are rumored to be lovers.

AHH THANK YOU!! i mean personally, myself, i tend to avoid the language of "making something 'better'" because even though there are certain things about old gravity falls aus i 100% hate and do not condone at all (the rampant sexualization of the mystery twins, all the b*lld*p and incest), i think the idea of making something "better" is kinda subjective! like i'm just one person who has their own experiences of writing things, i've had people do their own spins on my writing where they'll say "i made this character/concept in my au of your story because i feel like this decision was weird and didn't make sense" when i think it makes perfect sense, or, like, someone doing their own variations on my character designs and adding their own personal preferences (like adding animal traits onto my human characters) that i kinda dont really care for but i dont HAVE to? if that makes sense? cos thats what i like and thats what they like! we're all out here creating these beautiful imperfect things and i feel like tossing aside the idea of "fixing" someone's writing or making it "better" can really help you with the creative process, it's helped me a lot imo, kept me humble and cognizant of other peoples' writing going on in the world :]

I am 100% serious when I say I think the LLD (Luis, Lucie, Diego) trio would be a thing, romantic or platonic. Obviously Lucie and Diego were already friends and roommates (oh my god, they were roommates) who clearly just go everywhere together and are devoted to each other, seen mostly in Diego just risking everything multiple times to save Lucie. And then Luis as the protector character, immediately being the one to help the two both times they needed it in the chase scenes, saying for them to get behind him when entering the medical....

Small synopsis of what I am currently planning for the final demo of the game, final plans can (and probably will) change, suggestions are open!

Sprites!

Just a small note is that I want to rework the sprites to have different poses. Though it's still unsure since I'm only one artist working on this, and sprites are stupidly hard to work on (for me that is), so it is unsure for the better sprites, but I probably will make new ones for the finaly game if ever.

The user interface has been planned and sketched out. Release for it is not yet planned except for the fact I want it done and ready for users before the final demo releases. see below for the sketch of the user interface in the game.

Just a small note that when the final game will be released is not known currently! I'm still on the fence about when I want the game to be released (currently because 1, I'm one person doing this just with the support of friends and stuff to play test. 2, I'm not sure if I want to release the game-- if it does finish early-- due to personal reasons).

Another note is that I am in fact open to suggestions while the game is still in development! I would in fact like input that people will have on my characters and possible events for the game (keep anything sexual PG though, though gore related stuff is mostly fine).

13 right now! I’m a baby fic writer lol I only started in 2022 as a coping mechanism from university fucking me up, but I’m fully in love with it now. It’s so good to get back into writing for myself after writing for school and exams according to a marking scheme for so long.

I’d say my first fic? Four Times Love Meant Sacrifice and the One Time It Didn't Need To, because that was literally four ships with a bad ending (or at least endings presented as bad) with one final happy ending ship. But otherwise I mostly stick with happy endings, or at least hopeful endings

But I will say my WIP that I posted on Wednesday is gonna break that record and have the angsiest ending, because it’s about Arthur Fox’s cancer diagnosis and Henry’s emotional journey through that point of his life

What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?

I’d say most of them are fairly happy? But I do think I do hopeful endings more.

Probably Can I Have This Dance? It ends with Alex and Henry dancing around in the Texas family house after the election

Do you get hate on fics?

So far so good, no, and I’m hoping it stays that way 🥹

Do you write smut?

Very, very tame. The most explicit thing I’ve written is The Word of Your Body, which is a RWRB Movie Paris scene fic. It’s very tame, but writing the main event gave me such a crisis

Craziest crossover:

I don’t think I’ve done a crossover? Between fandoms, that is. And I don’t think I’ll ever plan to? Unless you count what I did for Four Times Love Meant Sacrifice and the One Time It Didn't Need To because I was mixing the actor’s characters from different projects and shipping them together (which is a really prominent thing in the LLD/JZ fandom)

No, not that I know of

No, but with my growing interest in translation, I am thinking of translating some of my own fics, starting with the LLD (since that’s a dominantly Chinese fandom to began with)

But for fics I actually already started, it’s a song fic on “I’ll Cover You” from Rent for Junzhe. I was like 40% done with the draft, but the last time I touched it was in 2022.

It’s supposed to be a sort of exploration on cross-dressing and femineity which started because I was pissed at the government’s “Anti-sissy” declaration, and Zhehan (one part of the ship, but don’t search him online yourself a lot of shit happened and there’s massive misinformation everywhere about him) was really loved and known for his perceived femininity after holding a dominantly masculine image for most of his career. The gender neutrality in his style during and after Word of Honor suited him better, and I wanted to write about that

What are your writing strengths?

Descriptive writing and character studies, which is why most of my fics are either putting visual media into words, or missing scenes, or canon compliant

What are your writing weaknesses?

Dialogue and anything regarding movement and action, so choosing to write a Tangled AU for the RWRB Big Bang is a challenge I set for myself

Thoughts on dialogue in another language?

Be careful with it, and be respectful. (and of course, if it’s Chinese, I will be extra critical)

It's here!! Jaz and I have been working on this for...4 months? Well, jaz has been working. I was mostly watching it happen and occasionally noodling around hoping something would eventually stick, because contrary to what I had hoped when I signed up, my art block didn't go away in time for this event lol. That said, I still had a lot of fun, and I especially enjoyed seeing this story come together! It's all warm and charming and fun and you should definitely check it out!!

2022 Candy Year In Review

As a way to cap off the year, I thought it would be nice to go over all the LLD candy from 2022! There were a ton of little ones (read: kadians, matching clothing, possible hickies, sunset photos, etc.), so this will just be focusing on the larger notable ones. They’re all dated and in chronological order, because I’m me.

Remember to take these with a grain of salt. Enjoy~

January 23rd → Gong Jun’s studio Weibo posted his 2021 year in review video, completely leaving out August despite him having had two livestreams, a song release, and a reality show air during that month.

January 29th → Gong Jun posted a commercial for KFC to his Douyin where he rips dates off a calender that has 1 and 5 missing. (No one talks about this one but it’s one of my favourites. 🥺💕)

February 14th → Gong Jun posted a commercial to his Weibo at 11:29, then posted two photos of himself to Weibo at 13:14 (kadian for “forever”), then posted the same to his Instagram at 13:15, using the kadians to make the sequence “Gong Jun forever Zhang Zhehan”. The photos had been taken at Xiao Yu Hill in Qingdao at almost the exact location that Zhehan had taken photos at in 2018.

His Weibo post had the caption “Happy Valentine’s Day [11 husky emojis]”, the same caption he had used in 2021. Some people noted that “Zhang Zhehan” is eleven letters long, and interpreted the use of the same caption as a way of saying that nothing has changed.

March 5 → Gong Jun posted a vlog with Nancy Mulligan by Ed Sheeran as one of the BGM, a song about a couple eloping during the Northern Ireland conflict. Fans found that one of the top comments on the song on Netease is “When China allows homosexuals to get married, I will play this song at our wedding,” and the song has widely been adopted by the gay community for its message of marrying and growing old together despite societal rules.

April 26th → (Purely rumor, take with a full spoon of salt.) Gong Jun and Zhang Zhehan were supposedly seen together at the entrance to the Ritz Carlton Hotel in Beijing. Reportedly they saw someone take photos and Zhehan stepped forward to pay the person off, only for Gong Jun to stop him and say to the photographer, “Do whatever you want.” The following day was Zhehan’s lunar birthday.

May 6th → (Instagram cw) Guo Yunfei, the casting director and actor of Duan Pengju from Word of Honor, posted a photo of himself making the LLD handsign with the caption, “I hope the ‘waves’ (浪花, langhua) like it. I know what happened recently, but what can I say or do? … I hope everyone can be sincere and kind, have a safe future, and live up to your friendship.” This was the day after the Instagram was deactivated.

May 11th → Zhehan’s birthday. The post count on Gong Jun’s Weibo went up by two despite nothing new appearing, indicating that he had posted privately.

May 17th → (Again, purely rumor.) Gong Jun and Zhang Zhehan were supposedly seen together near Liangma Bridge in Beijing’s Chaoyang district. According to this one, Gong Jun asked the fans who photographed them to delete the photos and they willingly complied.

May 20th → Kangshifu released a mini-movie for 520 starring Gong Jun and an actress who looked strikingly like Zhang Zhehan, including a scene where she wore an outfit almost identical to one Zhehan wore during his 2021 birthday concert. The film included drawn illustrations of the two lead characters, one of which was found to have been directly traced from a photo of Zhehan from the Word of Honor concert. One of the lines included on the teasers leading up to the release was “I didn’t hide you away properly. It’s apparent in every drawing of mine.”

May 23rd → Gong Jun posted photos from a photoshoot for L’Officiel magazine to his Weibo—completely innocuous until people discovered that the caption, “✈✈✈～​​ ”, auto-translated to “对对～​​ 我爱你～ ​​ (Yes yes~ I love you~)” in the international app. This was later confirmed to have been an intentional Easter egg. Interpret it as you will~

June 9th → Gong Jun posted cooking photos from when he had been visiting his family during the previous month. It was noticed that there was one more set of chopsticks than there should have been if it was only his family. As well, it can be seen that Gong Jun was cooking the cilantro separately from the rest of the dish—Zhehan is known to not like cilantro. June 9th is May 11th on the lunar calendar.

(There were so many little things throughout May and June, you could tell Gong Jun was giving Xie and co. the middle finger. A thread I made of all the ones I’m aware of can be found [here].)

August 1st → (slight knives in this one) BEAST posted an article to their WeChat about their Qixi product line, in which they included the lines “Remembering that we couldn’t spend the previous Qixi together as we were at different places I even secretly childishly cried, and was angry at him. He promised that he’ll give me a surprise next Qixi.” and “Love is separated by the mountains and seas / The mountains and seas can be flattened”. The latter was written on a banner Zhehan had recieved from a fan during the Word of Honor concert; Qixi 2021 was August 14th.

September 5th → VogueFilm released an interview Gong Jun had done with them where he talked about his morning routine, wherein he said, “If you have a problem with your knees, don’t do running, cycling, etc. Even though they seem easy, if you don’t master the technique well, it will actually affect your knees” Photos of his food included a jianbing, which a few weeks earlier he had said his “ahyi” made for him, as well as eggs prepared in a way unique to Jiangxi.

October 14th to 20th → Gong Jun stopped having an umbrella shield him from photographers while going to work and took full advantage of it by wearing clothing associated with Zhehan for the next several days. Details can be found in my post for that week, look for the 🍬 emojis.

November 2nd → During a livestream for Hsu Fu Chi, Gong Jun mentioned multiple of his other endorsements and at one point walked off set to grab his LockNLock thermos, which he then drank from on camera for exactly five seconds while the host was made to wait. On the same day, his studio posted a douyin with the song 隆里电丝 by 盛宇DamnShine, which includes the lines “Some people will become your friends / or your zhiji / Some people will fight with you to the end / as long as you're happy (开心就好)”

November 17th → A photo from 2021 that Gong Jun’s studio posted as part of his time train series included a blurred out red and blue smear that was possibly a photo from the Word of Honor concert being used as his phone’s wallpaper.

November 28th → Gong Jun posted a photo of a handwritten note saying that he wouldn’t be doing a birthday livestream the following day. Something that was possibly his hexagon ring appears to have been deliberately placed behind a glass of water in the photo.

December 17th → Gong Jun posted travel photos from Yunnan, which included two photos of a figure from behind wearing a hoodie that completely covers his head. There is debate over whether this person was really Gong Jun, especially as the shoulders seem to match Zhang Zhehan’s stature.

Summary of Hao Jingfang's involvement in the WOH fandom:

Who is Hao Jingfang? Hao Jingfang 郝景芳 is a Science Fiction writer who won the Hugo Award for her novelette Folding Beijing back in 2016.

May 6, 2021 (two days after the WOH concert)—Hao Jingfang posted a review of WOH. She claimed the show helped her get rid of her writer's block and inspired her to continue working on her new book. She said she liked Gong Jun and Zhang Zhehan and wanted them to star as the main leads of the film adaptation of said book. She said that she planned to have Word of Honor's scriptwriter, Xiao Chu, adapt the novel for screenplay.

Hao Jingfang soon started publishing chapters of the novel—titled 宇宙跃迁者 (Cosmic Jumper)—online. And everytime she would put Junzhe/LLD references on her blurbs. A huge chunk of Junzhe fans expressed support for this project.

When 813 happened, Hao Jingfang condemned Zhang Zhehan on the blurb of a newly posted chapter (without explicity naming him, but it was very obvious who she was talking about)

She said that since she was writing a story about "heroic Chinese people leading the world" it was very important to her that the actors starring in the adaptation have clean reputations. In the last line, she implies that ZZH's moral character and patriotism is lacking. She deleted it a few hours later.

A few days later, she posted a new chapter and the blurb contains more Junzhe references. Junzhe fans called her out for still using the references after she had already condemned ZZH. She deleted it and never used Junzhe references on her blurbs after this again.

The fandom stopped paying attention to her and supporting her work after 813 and she slowly disappeared from the fandom's radar. She appeared again sometime in December when Li Xuezheng was active and talking about ZZH's case. She made a post that can be read as veiled support for ZZH.

Months later at around May 2022, Hao Jingfang once again appeared in the fandom when her main weibo account was muted. She then accused GJ on her side account of being the one behind the muting of her main account. Did she provide a shred of evidence? No.

It's worth noting that prior to the muting Hao Jingfang wrote and posted an essay talking about the war in Ukraine and the COVID situation in China. These topics (especially at the time) were considered to be highly sensitive and controversial. Her being a public figure talking about these topics on weibo is the most likely reason she was muted, especially since it was clearly stated that she was muted for violating laws and regulations, and not just for community guidelines.

Fans then found out that Hao Jingfang is actually friends with the Word of Honor scriptwriter Xiao Chu and a man by the name of Zhang Peichao.

Who is Zhang Peichao? Zhang Peichao, also known as Patrick Zhang and "Doc Creepy", is a psychoanalyst based in Shenzhen who follows the teachings of Freud, believes in stuff like the Oedipus complex, asserts that homosexuality is a response to childhood trauma, encourages gay conversion therapy, etc etc. He first appeared in the fandom when WOH was still airing and published a few essays about the show. One gimmick of his is psychoanalysing the characters according to his sick and perverted views, like saying that Wen Kexing's sexuality is due to Oedipus Complex. Zhang Peichao also seems to be obsessed with the actors themselves, particularly with ZZH and the character he plays in WOH, Zhou Zishu.

TLDR; he is a creepy perverted slimeball hence the nickname "Doc Creepy"

But the reason Hao Jingfang's connection with Zhang Peichao is interesting is because he's suspected by the fandom to be the heart and soul of the Zhang Sanjian scam. And the big accounts that heavily promote Zhang Sanjian have also expressed their support for Hao Jingfang's unfounded accusations against Gong Jun.

Since she attempted (and failed) to start a smear campaign against Gong Jun, we haven't really heard from Hao Jingfang after that. The rest of the updates on this situation are from unverified sources (eg. released chatlogs) so I won't include them.

P.S. I've read about half of her novel 宇宙跃迁者 and it sucks. Don't bother wasting your time and money on it. If she's "at the forefront of Chinese sci-fi" then Chinese sci-fi is fucking doomed. There are much better sci fi works on jjwxc.

Happy Birthday Scottish golfer Sam Torrance born 24th August 1953 in Largs.

Sam is one of the characters of Scottish sport, he always seems to have a smile on his face and enjoying himself. His father, Bob, taught him to golf when he was 7 years old.

Winning 32 titles on the European Tour and European Senior Tour around the world is something to be proud of. So, too, is holing the winning putt in a Ryder Cup then returning to that same venue – The Belfry – to captain a European team to victory in the biennial event against the USA. But, to come home to Scotland and receive confirmation that you hold a special place in the hearts of the most knowledgeable golfing fans on the planet is surely as good as it gets.

He was one of the leading players on the European Tour from the mid-1970s to the late 1990s, with 21 Tour wins. Torrance was a member of European Ryder Cup teams on eight occasions, from 1981 to 1995 consecutively; he was on Cup-winning teams in 1985, 1987, 1989, and 1995. He was the winning non-playing captain of the European Ryder Cup team in 2002.

Torrance currently works as a commentator for BBC Sport golf coverage., previously he was appeared several times on the long running BBC quiz show A Question of Sport and with Sharron Davies and team captain Phil Tufnell in the 37th season of the show made history by achieving the first-ever perfect score on the show since it started in 1970.

Sam was presented with a lifetime achievement award at the glitzy Scottish Golf Dinner in 2012.

In June this year he was presented with an Honorary Doctor of Laws (LLD) by the University of St Andrews.

“I left school 56 years ago so I guess I’m a kind of slow learner,” Torrance said.

“But it was magnificent to watch all the students come up, the pride in their faces. It was really beautiful. This is the only place I would have accepted one. It is one of my most favourite places in the world. Or my favourite golf course as it has ever been.

“I’m very happy here. I’ll look back on this and remember it forever. So it’s a great honour for my family, for me.”

He celebrated 30 years of marriage to actress Suzanne Danielle in 2018, the couple have 4 children.

I was informed by another user that I was misusing the term hemiathropy for characters. Limb Length Discrepancy (LLD) is now what is used to describe characters with one limb growing smaller than the other. Hemihypertrophy is now used for characters who have a limb the grow larger due to overproduction in the body.

You'll notice I have them standing on a piece of sticky tape - I took these pics waaaay back in the days before my little acrylic fig standees arrived. They are safely on standees now, because they do not stand up at all. All the weight of those good wishes topple them right over!

Speaking of wishes, Zhehan's here to grant them with his green jade ruyi sceptre. Gong Jun has a scroll for an auspicious saying.

Zhehan looks so small and adorable here! He's so cute. I love the slightly rakish tilt to their hats as well.

Gong Jun's feet say, "get rich", so everyone, go out and get rich! MTL says Zhehan's feet say, "wishful thinking", which I think must refer to his ruyi sceptre. The fandom certainly has some very hopeful wishes for this year for our beloved Hanhan.

The fig maker included a very cute red packet with the artwork with these figs!

The box cards continue with the fig art - so cute! Google Translate won't read the box cards, so your guess is guaranteed to be better than mine. I recognize the character for Zhang, but as for the rest...

the most important panel yet.

I'm joking, kinda. I want to ramble a little. if you want to bear with me, you can look under the cut.

As you may or not know, the purpose of the LLD au is to gather all the characters that i see and go "Poor thing, here's a tasty meal, a warm drink, a blanket to keep you warm and a shouder to cry on if you need it" and i'm using Luigi as my vessel.

Until i learn how to draw Mario. Because Luigi too need a comfy blanket, a tasty meal and a warm drink.

Anyway. Got the last page until Mario arives sketched. Still 4 ready in queue. The rest is in the works, being somewhere from still not lined to just needing the spech bubbles to get in queue.
